In the Salvador shots of the Matt picture set there is a Whiteboard reference to 19BC. And 19 BC is shown on a building that he has shots of.
Turns out that 19 BC is military base: 2° Companhia do 19° Batalhão de caçadores Operacionais (You Tube Link here (http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=Dydyr2FTvY8&feature=related))
And if you watch the video you will see the Badge for the 19° BC. That same Badge appears on the sticker that Mr. Purple Shirt wears. But in the sticker it is in conjunction with Film Planet Group (http://www.filmplanet.com/site_en.htm). They boast about doing work for TAR before (Season 9).
I think in, sum and substance, 19 BC will turn out to be nothing more than just a dormitory for production.

They have to do something at the the Maritime Terminal the following morning, at least that's how I'm reading it.

There is something called Ceara Jeep tours--thats the only thing I have found that does beach tours in the area and might have that many jeeps available but their website is gone I think....

The word Prainha comes up all over Brazil. One such place is part of Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. Another: Prainha is one of many fishing villages along the northeast coast of Brazil in the state of Ceará and a short drive from the capital city of Fortaleza. There is also a lot of surfing in that stretch of coastline. I think this is the one we are interested in.

When I search for buggy and Fortaleza, I get a lot of hits for Cumbuco. It has a line of small trees (http://www.villacumbuco.com/Pictures/LuchtfotoCumbuco.jpg) and even some "star" buggys (http://www.flickr.com/photos/31711491@N00/61729072/), but no cranes or windtowers that I could find.

So the 23rd is the candy tasks with HoursOfOperation and the 24th would have to be the Elevator and Maritime Terminal/Fort tasks making that leg 1. It's about 9 miles by dune buggy through the sand from the place where teams hit the beach on the Jangadas.
And Ecological Park has a good Pit Stop ring to it. ;)

maybe take the Jangada back to the marina area for the pitstop? Toni and Dallas clothes match the Fortaleza scenes .. unless we can find another marina ?
Heres a thought: Do we know when they might arive in Brazil? I remember last season in Ireland they arrived in the evening, got 1 clue, and stayed in a hotel for the night. They might do that again this season, which would explain the change in clothes.
north09, that's why we have timelines and flight information in a separate thread. The latest one from 8/20 says:
4/22, leg 1 LAX DFW AA2446 1250 1740 connecting in Dallas with DFW GRU AA963 1945 0750+1 connecting Sao Paulo with GRU SSA JJ3896 0830 1055 or JJ3174 1035 1250

There are other possiblities for the American flight from Miami to connect in Rio, but they can arrive no earlier than the later TAM Aereas Lineas flight into Salvador.
So the answer to your question is 1055, 1250, or 1425 unless there were flight delays and/or bad weather (which may have happened if you believe the sighting of a route through Rio).

Did they sleep at the fort? Better question, could they sleep at the fort? I was thinking the fort was the second day going by the article. My thinking is the the teams went to the 19 BC military base to sign up for ferry rides to the fort.

So the Lacerda Elevator runs daily from 5 am to midnight. We have at least 1 team noted doing the elevator task at 11:35:05 am. So why is it taking the teams 2 days to complete the tasks? What are the hours of Forte São Marcelo? What do the teams do in between? Do they get taken to the jungle for the night? Where do Mark and Bills confessional come from? the future? or that between time?
So Forte São Marcelo must come first thing the next following day so maybe you guys are right and Dallas and mom could be waiting for the ferry to take them across? something like that? I'm having no luck finding ferry schedules to Forte São Marcelo or its hours of operation.

puddin, I think it appropriate to address these questions. I have found a photo of the interior of Forte Sao Maracelo: Forte Sao Marcelo interior (http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Forte_S%C3%A3o_Marcelo_interno.jpg)
It looks like an air conditioning system(for inside) on the wall, so they must have electricity. Whether they have plumbing is unclear but it is a very short distance over to the fort from where the boats must be docked. I think they in fact could sleep there if necessary. Certainly WRP could bring port-a-potties and barrels of water over if they needed to.
On the question of those late for the elevator, the information for leg 1 (April 23 in Salvador) is quite specific about expected arrival times except for weather or other flight delays. "The Lacerda elevator runs 5am to midnight" so any teams arriving late should still be able to use it on the 23rd.

Forte São Marcelo has restaurants, museums and gift shops so yes they must have plumbing but I do not think they sleep on the fort itself the above scenario makes more sense, teams wait go to Forte São Marcelo, hours of operation and that could be why we see Dallas & Toni waiting near the docks, for the boat to take them. What do they do there? I don't know? find something? then they are directed to the elevator and the pitstop wherever that may be. Could be where Bill and Mark have their confessional? There is time though we should still have press photos to look forward to and they might be telling.

Thanks Puddin. I tried to emulate Slowhatch and this is what I found.
I see a creation date that is in the future so that means the camera's date was not set right. And I see the same 11:35:05 am that you see but it is the modification date within a PDF file. So...? :duno:
The PDF date is probably when the writer was putting together their post for the blog on April 24th. Probably within a few hours of taking the picture.

Thanks to Slowhatch's VR tour (see Maps) here is another pretty pic of the marina there which refreshed my memory of that --looks like an excellent choice to me. I guess it could be a quick interview as they leave the Pitstop the next day on the way to Forteleza.
I also think sorta remember from apskip's work that the flights to Fortelaza are awkward for our needs, so maybe the Sarah happy reaction could be for a early chartered flight to Forteleza rather than a truck to the jungle?? Somehow I am not feeling the jungle love.... :lol:

When we see Sarah happy at the 19 BC whatever its day 1 in Bahia peach so it can't be a flight that shes happy about, they don't know where they are going until the next day and we see them all bunched pretty much a large group running through the Fortaleza airport so I don't think a chartered flight would be the case.
And good call by Chateau and Slowhatch with the marina shots being around Forte São Marcelo, not Fortaleza like I had thought :jam:

I’m having difficulty explaining all the details because I’m just learning English and am not good, excuse my mistakes.
I took the picture on April 23rd but they filmed on April 25 in the morning and finished about 2:00pm because I needed to paint it 2 days before and paid me to participate in the filming too.
I never heard of Amazing Race before and they tried to do everything in secret, but during the filming I dressed in a blue painter uniform with some brushes and the teams arrived in a taxi, took the envelope in a red box, I don’t remember what they called that, and they need to find the painter (me) and one of the couple needed to stay beside me and the other run and read all the phases to find the key, he or she ran to tell me the key. That place is located in Metropolitan area of Fortaleza City in a place called “Iparana” Caucaia city near Forrtaleza the capital of Ceara state.

That leaves either Moscow or Portland (or someplace in the past).

And I've been meaning to post this, remember Robyn, our writer that witnessed Nick and Starr at the Moscow pitstop? This is why I'm pretty sure Tina and Ken final 4, theres always that chance there was a team behind them and they are final 3 but.. reading above, if it was Tina and Ken that Julz saw " very tan blond woman in a florescent green sporty outfit, backpack and one of those TAR clue cards (?) in her hand", they very well could be decoys but, nothing could be 100% certain so take it for what its worth. Remember, Robyn did not "man" the pitstop the whole time, she and her group were sight seeing.

also, did you know once the contestants come through they sit at the side? i always envisioned them giong off to a hotel, but no they sat in a waiting area until at the one of the other teams came thorugh.

I can't get inside any of the pavilions! Its making me crazy! I just want to find where Ken is sitting :funny:. They must have some no pictures allowed rule because honest I've turned up nothing. HELP please!

Inside The Pavilions At The All Russia Exhibition Centre.
Many of the Pavilions are constructed in the style of one of the Soviet Republics and are worth a closer look. One of the Pavilions is wooden (complete with a wooden fresco depicting hard working Russians), while another is Middle Eastern in style, with Moorish mosaics and delicate plasterwork. The details on the Pavilions belie the old Western propaganda that communist buildings were shoddily built.
Although the atmosphere and goods on sale today are very different from the communist era, the All Russia Exhibition Centre gives a good picture of the architecture and values of the time

As far as Nick goes, if a person were cynical you might think people were "guided" in after-race interviews ("talk about the Frats" "talk about your sister and Dallas" etc.). I really want Ken and Tina in the final 3 but thats for selfish reasons, I adore them. I'm trying to take Kenny's words and twist them as if they are still in the race "we have to have a little more give and take, shes got to trust in me when I think I know something.." :angel:
And Nick is a actor of sorts, I don't know how to read him? In my mind they won so to me its sort of like "Yeah I won and I'm okay with my sister and Dallas being together now that the race is over .."

Party is not my interpretation--it was the sources.
A hall behind the Pavilion could be a great place for the actual spend the night Pitstop... with plenty of room for post-leg confessionals.
And I'm not convinced they are elim'd anyway, :funny: Ken still seems to be talking like "we'll have to"... as in on the next leg !
And as far as guided goes...teams have been told they could not leave to go eat/sleep/mingle until they gave the producers the footage/quotes they needed.
Teams have also said that they sometimes had a very difficult time to NOT say what they were clearly being led towards... :res:

Well, in the leg that Anthony and Stephanie (who are they, lol) were eliminated, they had a confessional (and it was from the end of the leg they were eliminated) that made it appear that they didn't get eliminated, because I remember watching and thinking "Oh crap, I'm gonna lose points in the game lol"

I saw TAR teams today as well at PDX. I drive the international buses at PDX but not today. However, I was driving the terminal parking lot buses today and saw a camera man /sound man running after a very tan blond woman in a florescent green sporty outfit, backpack and one of those TAR clue cards (?) in her hand just about the time the Germany flight would have landed. They were getting a taxi here at PDX. I had to keep my eyes on my driving but a person in the bus said they were from The Amazing Race.
My next loop around (20 minutes later), I arrived at the terminal and saw more teams grabbing a taxi. Fortunately I was driving the Employee lot bus and one of the supervisors (who got on camera & had to sign a TAR release for TV) confirmed that the teams in fact were from TAR and got off the Lufthansa flight from Germany to Portland OR. They were headed up to Washington state. He also said there were only 4 teams and perhaps the other two teams went up via Seattle first - but that of course is purely speculation.

No, I don't believe this is the case once Sequesterville(s) are full. Eliminated teams finishing 6, 5, and 4 typically travel with the entourage and then participate in decoy operations at the final city. Now it matters greatly whether this "party" or gathering is after the first Moscow pitstop or the second. After the first is OK since eliminated teams will have time to get on the same set of flights as the Final 3 one day earlier(May 13) to Frankfurt and Portland. After the second does will allow not enough time to do that.
