This game is kind of like the RFF pick'em. It's easy to play, you just have to answer a bunch of mutliple choice questions.
We try to gain as much points as possible b/c we are competing not only with our tribemates, but against other tribes in order to be the best Tribe playing!

You will need to Register at the Fantasy Survivor site at http://www.fantasysurvivor.com/
On the home page, at the upper far right, you'll see the Login. Right below that, is the link to register. After completing the registration process, you'll be taken to the list of Tribes, in alpha order. Scroll to Refaforu, select it, and hit Submit at the bottom of the list. That will take you to the "Join a Tribe" button.
Enter the password: monkey
Now you'll see the Tribe Refaforu list with your name on it!
You're all set!

The Fantasy Survivor webmaster lacks promptness in posting each week's questions & the results/scores. So we also play the waiting game & sometimes it is frustrating.
Ok, I said it, so everyone will know what to expect. So far, nearly all who started out playing the game stuck with it to the end!! :jumpy:

Hey Rudy, on the page that shows what our scores were for each episode it also tells what our rank is and how many people made their picks that week. Last season there were 1562 total participants.
Now everyone pray for good weather for the rest of the day between Michigan & ND. My dear spouse is on the neverending flight. Was supposed to leave Lexington at 9:30 AM and arrive in ND at 4:00 PM with 2 layovers. Only 1 of 3 flights is completed at this time with delays at both ends. Latest ETA is midnight but is sitting on the plane at this time in Detroit being de-iced. :groan:

When logging in to FS at 1:40AM EST, the Micronesia Banner and most of the survivors' photos are there....along with the following message:
"Fantasy Survivor: Micronesia has not launched yet. Please check back again a bit later for our first installment! Thank you."

I thought the title sounded like something James would say. Now a question about the Fantasy Survivor site, after I made my picks I clicked into My Tribe to see how many people had made their picks and there were no people showing on the team. Not even me and I'd just made my picks. I checked back later and we had 1 new person that hadn't been on the team last season showing. Anybody else seeing the same thing??? I left and rejoined the tribe and now I can see only 2 people, me and the new person (salt something - sorry can't remember). When I rejoined it said there were 24 people on our team so not sure why I can't see them.
Okay, I just checked back and I can see everybody on the team now . . . should have mentioned it sooner

Appreciate the tips and thoughts. I'm putting Fairplay to be voted out..hard to say with all the quitting talk going on. Have this nagging thought maybe it will be someone else. :res:

Then there's a picture floating around with Yau-man holding what looks to be a HII.. I can't see Yau winning a difficult challenge like swimming from one island to another. Anyone recall if he's a strong swimmer?

I'm not sure how the challenge works for finding the III. If it's just the 1st one to the island the strong swimmers will win. If they have to find it with clues provided once they get there . . . could be anyone's ballgame.

It's Joel who said the title...When asked by Jeff at the immunity/reward challenge whether he "buys" into what the favourites were saying about how good their camp conditions were, he replied, "No", pauses and said "You guys are dumber than you look".

Rudy I think the game is only partially scored. The questions are finished but not all the bottom 4 questions have been completed. 2 of mine have been scored and the other 2 are still showing a -0- and I'm pretty sure they are both correct. Artie must not have had time to finish them yet. But at least he's starting on the earlier than normal.

Yes, I agree! We definitely need to work together if we want to score well as a tribe. I personally miss out on quite a bit for Ep 1 about those survivors that were seen riding on the vehicle from previews(active survivors) and didnt know one could choose the same options for all. Great job s1 for Ep 1 and I hope we do even better for Ep 2.
So without further a do, any spoilers/videos/pictures? Mabye we can discuss it when the questions come out...

Hi Guys, I'm back, just a little late. One notification came in my junk box last week and a second one I found too late to play last week. As I'm working 2 jobs for the next 6 weeks, I may not get my picks in each week but I'll try hard.
It helps me a lot when the spoilers are done the way georgiapeach does it as I don't have to spend as much time looking for the "for sure" :lol: answers.

Sorry I need to report this. After giving it much consideration & sleeping on it, I am dropping out of the FS game. The Fantasy Survivor site admin or whoever the heck is in charge of posting the questions etc...has overtaxed my patience. 3AM EST on SURVIVOR THURSDAY is totally UNacceptable for posting the questions!! (:;) I have had it with their lackdidasiel (spelling ???) attitude in posting questions etc in a timely manner. :'( :'( :pull :pull :pull
Personal reasons also: My oldest daughter who has a life threatening condition :( , which some rff'ers are aware of, a son's wedding in March :) , following my doc's adamant orders re: my health, my concern over my bf's heart condition, plus other factors...play a role in my decision.
Since I am also LuvRupert, they won't be playing either. However, you will still have the 10 or 11 members to continue competing to stay on the Top 50 tribes list.
I wish you the best of luck and will be rooting for you to reach #1 in the Top 50!

Okay guys! Time to knuckle down to business!
First, congrats to Bluebeard, cinni, jonnal and puller for taking top honors this week! :jumpy: :jumpy:
But...no one from ReFaForu made the top 50 players :'( so we need to step things up.
And with only 11 active players it will be CRITICAL that everyone plays every week. So if for some reason you think you may have trouble getting your picks in, please consider asking me or someone else to do it for you so all our votes will count. If I am working, I can see needing some help myself to get bonus picks in on time--whenever that might be.
The minimum divisor to calculate the tribe averages score on a week to week basis is 10. A tribe must have at least 10 members submit predictions each week to have the tribe's full potential average considered in these standings.
It isn't too late to join in so if you would like to please do.
I usually don't get my picks in till last minute but am working tomorrow and don't know what the day will bring. So I'll try to swoop around the boards today and see if I get a sense of which way things are going and will post what I find out tonight. I don't mind brainstorming together either as I think that we can help each other think of new ideas/approaches but today is my day for that too this week.
So let's see if we can jump up the leaderboard! You top guys--great job! And feel free to help out the team with any hints! :angel:

If Im not Wrong, no. of times called by Jeff in both challenges. I've noticed it only counts during the challenge itself, not before when they are on the mat or after when talking about Exiles. And counts only as 1 if a name metioned in the same consecutive sentence. Its a bit tricky you know, they might miscount/not count 1 or 2 of them.
For questions regarding the counting of events or actions, unless otherwise specified, each independent and observable occurrence of the activity will be counted regardless of the number of times the camera shows the event or activity. For an event to count multiple times we must observe and or have reasonable reason to believe the original activity was discontinued and then resumed. For example, if a Survivor is shown cooking, and we cut to commercial and the cut back to the cooking, that is considered one activity. If however, the second time the Survivor is shown cooking it is obvious that it's the next day, or a completely different meal, that second scene is considered a second occurrence.

We moved up nicely. We've got a 28 pt. lead over 6th place but we've got a lot of ground to cover to move up to 4th. HoBgoblin has a 30 pt. lead on us. They've outscored us every week except the 2nd when we outscored them by nearly 28 pts. We can over take them but to do so we all need to spoil well and take advantage of any Bonuses that may be offered. Good work team :jam:

Tribe Swap!! Herc’s Seen Tonight’s Brutal SURVIVOR!!

Yao-Man Chan got voted out during the third episode two weeks ago, which bums me out, man. I hope CBS lets viewers vote him a million in the season finale, as they did with “All-Stars” two-time loser Rupert Boneham.
But we still have Ozzy Lusth to root for. And Eliza Orlins, Parvati Shallow and Amanda Kimmel to look at (the network, happily, has elected to not blur out Kimmel’s astonishing buttcheeks this season).
About seven minutes in, Jeff Probst announces the two 8-member tribes will swap four members each via a schoolyard pick. Bodybuilder/gravedigger James is first choice. The fan picking Parvati calls her “Poverty,” to the amusement of all.
The good news for Cirie? The two power couples – James/Parvati and Ozzy/Amanda – are split between the two tribes.
CBS sent along this particular episode, I gather, to publicize the particularly punishing reward competition, an obstacle-riddled game of tag in which teammates are tethered to each other. The winners’ reward is a barbeque feast, and the contestants are plenty hungry. Some players wind up getting dragged around like inattentive dachshunds by beefier partners and it’s difficult not to laugh at the helplessness of those on the wrong end of the leash.
Once the tribes return to their respective camps, however, it’s obvious that some of the players have sustained some fairly grotesque injuries, and production medics have to be brought in to offer up some Micronesian medical treatment.
We get to see lots of gory field surgery. What we’re denied is footage of one of female cast members catching a 4-foot shark with her bare hands. It happens, but offscreen. We only get to see the mammoth fish prepared for dinner.
Curiously, the letter accompanying the screener we received says the episode was sent along with ending intact. (In the old days, the screeners would end right after Probst announces, “It’s time to read the votes.”) But this screener actually ends earlier than ever, before the losing tribe can start its long trek to tribal council! Crazy! The Eye Net’s publicity department has taken to teasing critics?
What I do know is the tribes, now evenly deadlocked with four faves and four fans on each, have to engineer fresh alliances forged with new criteria – with the losing tribe divided along weak versus strong.

I think I might be screwed with the active survivors for my first entry, the other entry might be fine. Hope no one followed me on the testimonials one and followed the safe picks of newAiral members winning a challenge.
Hmm the main questions also 1 to 2 questions wrong. Tough old week. Not sure about the strong phrase used at tribal.

Bringing this forward from upstream...I will be here most of today except for 2-3 hours early afternoon. Most everything we know so far is posted in the episode thread--lots of spoiler info so read it closely. We know more about the RC and IC as well. Thanks so much for sharing that--I'll be interested to see how he responds. I think the first one is a fine line--did Jonathan have any choice? I actually thought when I first watched that the scene with the medic/doc showed that the medic WAS leaving it up to him--but clearly later in the episode both he and Jeff said the docs made the decision.
And Jason did not realize the idol was fake, IMO, so we'll see?
And Oh btw dustigenes--good job! Top of the heap and top 50 overall!! Maybe you don't want those PM's after all! :lol:

Yup, its like extremely unfair, hes like drunken with power and we cant doing anything. I already tried with my real name Alan over there, together with some others bashing him, he seems to want this controversy. He wants to shake the game up by going against the majority. :pull
Basically with the rules he moved the goalpost. :jam:
The positive thing with the points is that many got it wrong too so we're pretty fair actually but its all about the integrity of the game as people said over there. (:;)

There's a FantasySurvivor.net site I play at but the questions are pretty much the same. They don't go into detail but they have the scores up within the hour after the show and the next questions up that same night! I like this game because its more challanging. But now its becoming more of a pain in the ass! :pull

If you guys really dislike the game, or our current ability to support the game doesnt meet your needs...
I have to recommend you stop playing it.
Really it is not worth the time and effort on your part and it really makes no sense continuing with a service your not happy with.
Personally, I don't mind whatever you decide to do... The game will continue for anyone who wishes to play.
But, frankly I cannot remember the last time I ran the game for a week where there wasn't at least one complaint on this forum regarding my performance.
I cannot for the life of me imagine why many of you have choosen to continue with our game.

You know, we don't tolerate rudeness to our posters or each other on this forum, and I find it very upsetting that we have been rude to someone who has given us a lot of enjoyment with his game, and clearly spends a lot of time making it fun and challenging for all of us.
Many of us love the game for the challenge and the competition, and how it makes us watch the game all that more closely.
He has a very valid point that if any of us don't like the game or the questions or the time the questions are posted, any of us are free to stop playing at any time. That is certainly a personal choice.
And open and forthright debate and discussion and opinions are always welcomed here.
But speaking only for myself, I feel quite badly for the impression that this tribe has clearly given Artie. I am so sorry that we have caused unhappiness to someone who has given all of us so many hours of fun.

To be honest, if some players feel it is best for them to quit their game of Fantasy Survivor due to a decision I had to make in this game, then by all means, I can only recommend [sic] the player go ahead and discontinue playing the game. There are plenty of variations of Survivor Pick-em games available on the web today giving all Survivor fans interested in a pick-em game plenty of choices of game styles which they should find enjoyable.
For anyone who is reading this that decides that they wish to continue playing Fantasy Survivor, let’s be clear on one thing: I am not infallible. I will ask questions in the future that have ambiguous results. I will ask questions without the benefit of having seen the episode in advance. I will from time to time ask a question that must be thrown out or fail to include a choice for an answer that is obvious to everyone at the conclusion of the episode. There will be a question in the future where I may disagree with your conclusion as to what the correct answer(s) for a question should be. These are all things we must accept from a Survivor game who’s goal is to be more than a typical pick-em game. We go out of our way to ensure this game is fresh every week, asking a balance of questions that directly pertain to the current story line, as well as questions that are challenging enough where players simply cannot simply refer to a spoiler site to look up what the answers should be. We wanted to differentiate our game from many others by ensuring our game is not simply a repeat from week to week where the same (boot, immunity, exile, wins challenge) questions are asked over and over. If the sound of the above is not appealing to you for a Survivor competition, then it’s quite likely Fantasy Survivor might not be the game for you.

I just want to say I love this game. It may not be timely, but I sympathize with Artie. I've run a few RFF pick'em games and sometimes Real Life does interfere. It's a lot of work to get those questions up and score them. I can only imagine how much work it is for Artie! Must be at least twice as much work than the games at RFF.

Thanks Peach for your comments about Artie and his treatment from our group. As TheCinera has pointed out it takes a lot to run the games and ask Rob about keeping up the site. I have played this game in the past and there have been times I was upset about how it is scored or the lateness of the questions, however we all need to keep in mind that we are playing his game for FREE. We are not contributing donations to help him run his game nor is it taking time out of our schedules to verify all the answers and answer all the emails about the game.
And as Peach said, we do not tolerate attacks on other members on the board and address them when people notify us. Artie is now a member of RFF, whether he chooses to continue to post or not so I expect you would give him the same respect you give the other members here.
Please remember even though we are all competitive and like to win and see our name and tribe in the top spots, it is just a game. It is a game that is suppose to be fun and give you another aspect of watching the show.
If you have a valid complaint end a message but be respectful. But keep in mind we can tell Artie and others good things too. Sad to say now a days we are all quick to complain but not as quick to compliment.

Amen peachy and Texan!!! Anyone who has ever run a game of any kind has a permanent bullseye on their back it seems. You can never make everyone happy so someone is always complaining. I do think Artie missed the call on this one but it's just a game and in the long run since nearly everyone picked the same way we did it really didn't make a difference in the scoring. Upon rereading some of the CBS promos--I saw that they used the word proud....
In my mind best Choices: James + Jason
James + Alexis
Ozzy +Erik
Now--for some reason I think of James as proud...and not Ozzy so much.
And who would James be more likely to bond with? Another alpha male or a cutie-patootie?
If you think it is Ozzy + whoever, then the ones worried about the bond would likely be Amanda or Cirie..
If you think it is James, and specially James and another cutie--who would have the most reason to be jealous? Yep--you have it!

But what if that is the major breakdown but not the FIRST? If it were me, mine might come while sitting in that dark cave with bats *shudders*--not to mention chewing on a bat! So it could be anytime really but perhaps before a challenge is also an idea? We don't believe she goes to EI though...
Also--not game related but I think Amanda's comments about seeing a different side of Ozzy could relate to him reportedly sending Tracey to EI, causing her to miss the hair washing reward.

I feel bad about that s1 for a couple reasons: first is that I didn't know it would be a day early so I didn't get my questions in. And the second reason is because I missed out on points, I dropped from 6th to 11th :'(

Hey RJ, I'm sorry you missed out on the points for your personal score :( You've been doing really good this season. You didn't hurt the team scores though. As long as we have at least 10 people make picks we're okay. But . . . if you'd made your picks and scored over 153 you would have helped bring our average up unlike me this week who drug our scores down.
Now . . . lets all go big this week!!! We really need to take over the weekly leaderboard for the rest of the season :knuckles:

We've got a new member on our team. Her name is anniam and even though it looks like she just started playing it's only because her scores didn't carry over when she joined our team. She was in the top 50 overall scorers until last week (like someone else on our team that hopefully you still know and love). She was the only one in the top 50 that didn't belong to a team and she'd posted on the FS messageboard that she was looking for a team so I invited her to join us. I gave her our site info so hopefully she'll show up over her and say hi. Now if we'll just get some questions to discuss . . .

Well, we have some of the answers in the Ep 9 thread and all I can say is thank goodness for a bonus!! :lol3:
The one question which is iffy for me is the HII one--I think that there were NO correct answers, Correct answer would have been she doubts it but plays it anyway...what do y'all think?
Depending on how that is scored I think I only got either 60 or 80 +45% bonus + sucky actions choices so I think this will be my lowest score of the game...

I think everyone would also get low scores, not just us. With the exception of Jason winning immunity, the rest of the active survivor points were hard to get much. Hopefully the bonus will help us! :knuckles:

Hey RJ, after all the hubbub from Ep. 6 and the way those questions were scored I don't count on any of the questions that are open to interpretation until after they're scored. I agree with you :tup: but unfortunately that doesn't carry a lot of weight :jam:
On the up side this should be one of those weeks when only a few lucky people did really well on the questions. Hopefully they aren't on the teams that are ahead of us :snicker:

But it was one of the greatest episodes :jumpy: and for sure one of the best blindsides ever. Gosh, it made my heart ache. :'( I felt sorry for Ozzy falling victim, but he had it coming.

I think Ozzy could have played a much better game this time around. I think he got really cocky and really fast. This was his down fall. Last time they played on how much he was needed where as this time they have Eric who is similar and James who is strong. I know Amanda was shocked! I think the next few episodes should be really good though!

Ozzy played a very good physical game but his social game was lacking and he didn't see it till it was too late. He didn't treat the people that weren't in his immediate alliance well, he had a tendency to be bossy to everyone and even though he'd played the game before it never occured to him that the others might turn on him. It was a great episode and I really enjoyed the expressions on everyone's faces both the smug grins and the total amazements. Eliza was hysterical. If Cirie doesn't win this season and is in the finals she was robbed.
