Title: Lucky TAR 13 Talk!
Post by: georgiapeach on December 10, 2007, 07:53:26 AM
VARIETY says (http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117977397.html?categoryid=14&cs=1) that TAR 13 has been given the green-light!

Not that we didn't believe that already.....

"The Amazing Race" isn't slowing down.
CBS has greenlit production on a 13th cycle of the reality warhorse from exec producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Bert van Munster. Skein's 12th edition is currently airing.

Quick pickup is a vindication for "Race," which appeared to be fading in the ratings during its 11th outing earlier this year -- but earned a pickup anyway.

I will go on record with my fearless forecast that AR13 may have already started. I say that because Phil is due in New York City for the finale and in Los Angeles in early February for a convention. There is not sufficient time in between for him to do AR13. However, since he left recently "scouting AR13 locations", there is a good chance that he was going to the start line. That would allow AR13 to finish just before Jan. 20. It would also allow it be ready for presentation on CBS starting in April and catching all of sweeps month(May).

You heard it right here. We'll see if my logic is sound.

That makes a fair bit of sense; it's not unprecedented to film a season while another is airing or to have such a small hiatus between seasons. I think it's either going to be in the spring (I agree with a May finale) or in the fall; BB10 takes up Sundays in the summer. Heck, I think they could even do bot hthe summer and the fall like with TAR5-7.

And as for fearless predictions, I think we'll be seeing more in the way of Asia this time; the previous few seasons have had many legs in Europe (TAR12, TAR9) or South America (TAR11, TAR7, TAR6) with TAR10 being the exception. I would also not be surprised to find a leg or two in Australia/Oceania, because it's been overdue I think.

Was it season 9 that Phil was busy filming TAR10 and did not show up at tarcon? Just curious.

OK I must have been thinking about something else, like some award thing in Canada and Phil was filming season 10 and BJ & Tyler represented him and accepted the award.

I like your logic. And the "looking for locations" covers Phil nicely if he did happen to be spotted in some exotic location over the next few weeks....(http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k84/MrsShrek/misc/detective.gif)

I have a TAR spotting from Sydney  ;D

My friends spotted teams around Sydney Harbour in late November, I was actually in the area on the same day and was hearing about it from heaps of people.  I think my friend mentioned that a couple of teams were running to board a ferry from Circular Quea. There were camera crews and what-not. I asked if the teams were asian (TARA) and she said that they weren't. My friend got a bit of a dodgy shot of one team on her mobile... i will ask if she can get it on the computer, no promises though. From what I heard, there was a pitt-stop at Sydney Harbour, and the ferry-catching was the following day.

Just thought I'd say :]

red sox, if I were designing AR13, Sydney would be one of the places on it.

Post by: michael on January 17, 2008, 01:03:47 PM
November? That would have to mean that TAR13 has already been filmed which doesn't make any sense :(
Title: Re: Lucky TAR 13 Talk!

I wonder if that's the Central European version being filmed.
Title: Re: Lucky TAR 13 Talk!
Post by: georgiapeach on January 17, 2008, 03:13:18 PM
I thought the central European versian was a no-go?

And I believe that Sydney does some local area races but that wouldn't explain a camera crew necessarily...

We would love a picture!

We know where Phil was too around then so seems doubtful for our TAR....

I don't believe that we will see TAR13 on the air before the summer.  They haven't even started filming overseas yet.  On TES on Monday, when asked Phil said: "we are working on it".

The earliest they could start going overseas with all the prep time needed would be in April.

And that is what the info on the application for TAR13 says: "must be available for overseas travel in April or May 2008."

What's great about WRP is that the producers can bang out an episode pretty quickly. It's been done before. I still stand by my prediction that TAR13 will premiere in April so CBS will have the show to air during the May sweeps.

i agree with you ken, also theres a gap after bb9 is done so they would need something fresh for may sweeps. tar2 was filmed in january and on air by early march.

Still think they won't start shooting before April - May would be better then I could track them around Europe!

Time to start thinking of NEW countries TAR13 could include - for starters:

Czech Republic
Slovakia
Romania
Bulgaria
Serbia
Albania
Estonia
Latvia
Malta
Cyprus
Crete
Algeria
Tunisia
(Unfortuneately most of Africa below the Sahara is in constant turmoil outside of South Africa)
(Same goes for most of the Middle East)
Indonesia
Tasmania
Micronesia (Ponape, Yap, Truk)
Marshall Islands
Solomon Islands
Society Islands
Samoa

And there needs to be a leg in Denmark. A Lego Roadblock could be hilarious to see.

the 1 problem they have with israel is if they are going to a muslim country the dont like the israeli stamp on the passport. i have friends in high places in the israeli governtment that have told me everything would be secure for them if they ever did try to film a leg in israel.

They could either visit the Muslim country prior to Israel (Leg in Algeria, then Israel) so that doesn't become a big issue, or else not visit any Muslim countries (which has been done quite often). There would still be plenty of alternative options available.

And if there were to be a leg in Israel, I would definitely keep it by the coasts; either in Tel Aviv or by the Dead Sea would make for decent locations.

I would definitely say that there will be a trip to Australia/NZ this year; it seems to come every few seasons, now.

When I was travelling for the foreign service, we would get an Israeli visa on a seperate page that could be removed from the passport.

Well, Studio Systems (http://www.inbaseline.com/project.aspx?project_id=192917) (InBaseline) claims that it's "in development," but the stuff mentioned in the data bar looks so skimpy I wouldn't bother signing for a free demo (it might have just as easily been pulled off Variety or Imdb).

I'd like to see a Tahiti leg!

And what about Antartica????  That'd be COOL!!!  (No pun intended...;) )

And I still think that one of the coolest things they've done is that one where they went "sledding" down the sand hill in Namibia...I don't remember what season it was, but it was an early one.

Yup.  I went on an Academic Visa when I was in college.  It's a beautiful place.  And you're right...it's a shame.  I also think it's interesting that so many people think it's CUBA'S fault that we can't go there...but it's our own wonderful government who says nu-uh.  Too Bad.

They could also have to do a Cigar Rolling task or something...we went to the cigar factory in Santiago and omg...it's just amazing...all those people sittnig there hand-rolling cigars...

They could send them to Puerto Rico though...they haven't done that, have they?  Or did they do it during the season I boycotted the Race??

Swim miles across the ocean and find Cuba. Once you are there, find the cigar roller who will give you your next clue.

TPTB are always looking for new twists to keep the game interesting.  So I wouldn't be surprised to see that they might follow one of our earlier suggestions of sending the teams individually to an overseas  location for the start of the race.  But of course, as much as we tried to find the start location  for TAR12, they somehow were able to hide the start at the Playboy mansion and departure from LAX.

Agreed. Which is why they get rafts they take the triple route (through Canada or Mexico).

Countries that have not been used in a while - Thailand, Germany, New Zealand, Brazil, UK. I'd expect at least one of these countries represented, with heavy odds on Thailand and New Zealand.

gman the problem was that the starting for tar12 was moved on short notice and threw every1 off course. when we heard lax we thought they flew from boston south america for a leg or 2 and then back to la to connect to ireland.

Agreed. It would make for an early April finish, but BB9 takes up Sunday nights until early May and until early July (plus there's the finale of Half-ASS that will probably be on a Sunday). I doubt that they can fit a season (11 legs or 13) in that time period, so unless there's some timeslot changes, I'd be prepared for a fall edition. The good news is that this would give them the summer, fall and early winter to make a high-quality TAR14  :yess:

High-def reality programming a low priority

high-definition TVs is on the rise — and so is the roster of game shows and reality series, thanks in part to the recently settled Hollywood writers' strike.
But other than rare exceptions such as American Idol, few are broadcast in high-definition, in contrast to the rest of the networks' prime-time offerings.

Even though many reality shows would seem to benefit from high definition — especially exotic favorites such as Survivor and The Amazing Race— producers and networks do not see HD production as a priority. They say high-definition cameras are more costly and less reliable. Repairs and video storage on remote locations make HD a hazard, too.

The cameras "are not meant yet for that type of rough travel and the sheer cost," says Jonathan Littman, executive producer of CBS' The Amazing Race and president of Jerry Bruckheimer Television. "It's a pretty high escalation in our budget. It's not double at the moment, but it's hundreds of thousands of dollars for the total run."

HDTV not only packs up to five times the detail of standard definition, but it also makes the image widescreen, offering a broader vista for exotic locales. "I'm hoping if we're hanging around a year or two, it's going to become a real thing for us," Littman says. "There's not a show that lends itself more to being in high-definition."

puddin, I believe that it is the weight of HD cameras that make them unsuitable for The Amazing Race filming for episodes on the move. The poor cameramen already have a huge burden of a heavy camera and the need to move fast to keep up with the action. If a larger, heavier camera were to be used, I doubt that they would be to keep up with the action. Cost concerns are all a factor, but more minor.

I want HD!  No more excuses.

And the weight has nothing to do with it (anymore).  Take a look.

I bet the TAR cameramen would be relieved to carry  around this little bird!

:yess:  Watching The Tonight Show, and guest Reese Witherspoon (Legaly Blonde) said that she is a big fan of TAR.   ;D   OK, but she also said that she has a "writer friend" who is [going to be] on TAR(?)   :duno:  Not sure if she meant that a writer friend of hers will be a racer on the next TAR, or that her friend is a writer for TAR.   :res:

Oh well, just another excuse for the "dancing muffin" to appear.   :sucks

Live in the woods and can get DTV?  What did you do, cut down all the trees?  That's my problem, I have nice tall shade producing oak trees between me and the satellite - its either cut down a tree or two or stick with cable.

Anyone have any hints on what's up with TAR13?  Awfully quiet out thar.  Guess that much won't happen until they start the race.  I think in late April or early May is my guess.

Did you see the ratings for BB?  Right down the toilet.  Either thrid or fourth for each of the time periods. A rating of 5.9 and CBS keeps it on the air?  They must really be hard up; even re-runs of
re-runs do better than that!

BB's ratings are abysmal.  People say but its on agains't Idol.  So what..  Ar went agains't teh oscars and managed nearly 9 million viewers.  Went agains't NFC championship game and got nearly 10 million.

Again, how knowing that a strike was strongly likely, they didn't greenlight 2 cycles is just stupid.

That is my gripe mswood, they could have had a TAR on the short shelf ready to roll. I am glad BB's ratings are crappy and agree that even against AI, TAR's ratings wouldn't exactly kick AI's ass but would fare better then this BB train wreck. Why oh why CBS doesn't open their eyes is beyond me  (:;). I suppose if Julie Chen were the host of TAR things would be different  :res: hmmph..

And Gman  :hugs: :kuss:

Reese Witherspoon has a writer friend casted on TAR? 1st clip at about the 4 minute mark.

http://justjared.buzznet.com/2008/02/19/reese-witherspoon-leno/

I know she is a big fan and helped save the show years ago but doesn't she know that if the identity of a contestant is revealed before they start the race that they are OUT--no questions asked? And how does she know anyway? Somebody is going to spoil this for sure....

Nice kogs! :jumpy: :jumpy:

So casting probably done or nearly done..

Field production thru 5/08

Accounting and Production thru 6/08

This fits with our suspicians of an April or early May race, but seems to suggest a not-before late May or June airing to me...

Not only are the numers bad, bad, bad, but the most telling thing of all is that B B actually LOSES audience as the evening goes on.  Tuesday - down 14%; Wednesday - down 5.5%; Sunday - down 13%.  On the other hand most other shows GAIN audience during the evening.  For example: American Idol - up 20%; Survivor - up 9%; and Deal or No Deal - up 21%.

So why in the world would CBS keep this clunker on the air?  Ms Chenn?

this is what I found on tv.com:

The Amazing Race 13: The next adventure is in the works. Watch for the next season coming soon on CBS: America's Most Watched Network. The new episodes have been greenlit, casting has been completed, and production is underway. Host Phil Keoghan has started on The Early Show that they are working hard on it.

Hmmm?? True or Untrue

It depends on what you mean by "production" because everything else is true. There are a number of people whose resumes are shown earlier on this thread(you've got to read threads in their entirety, KiwiJay, if you want to know what's going on) who are involved in the early stages of production. The actual filming of AR13 should be about to begin very soon if it hasn't already. My best guess is the Ides of March as stated earlier in this thread.

apskip, I have read the full thing over and over and I am not saying that there have been a few things that have said it has started but I found that and it said things I wanted it to say so I posted it, It said Production is underway and watch on CBS's Americas most watched, and that casting is complete...

Yuck.  I would hope the show has learned a lesson about "Special" editions.  Especially with us getting only one cycle per year (as scheduled, though that could change with May upfronts).

Yeah if true Parvati would have to be available May 11th for the Survivor finale especially since we know how far she goes. Also if true she will be easy to recognize hmm I wonder if Yau Man would be asked again since he passed up season 12 for S16? Haha, imagine Yau and JFP running as a team  :lol3:

I have a few pithy comments about the above rumors:

1. If true, this shows how desperate the Amazing Race is to get a winning female team. There would be a 100% probability of a winning female team for an all-female team race. How low will World Race Productions stoop to achieve an objective? Couldn't they just cast their teams properly with carefully chosen couples and male teams to get that desired result?

2. The thought of more retreads from Survivor on the Amazing Race, as usual, makes me ill.

3. The only thing that would make me more ill would be more retreads from Big Brother.

4. Let's see fresh faces and not all from the same high school in southern California! Bertram, please give your casting folks a decent budget so they can travel further than 50 miles.

While I having nothing against models, pageant people or aspiring actors.  Even season 2 had asprining actors (Gary & Dave).  And Chris & Alex had no problem with trying to parley into entertainment fields.

But I would also like to see teachers, scientists, police officers, accountants, office workers, ect....

And I understand that tv being a visual medium is going to cast on average good looking people, and thats fine.  But you can have good looking people in other fields.

I agree with points 2, 3 and 4.

But I strongly disagree with part of #1.  The idea of an all female team season is laughable.  I can just picture all the teams making the generic, i want to be the first all female team that wins confessional.

But I despise the idea of casting the show to enable a female team to win.  As a women, that pisses me off.

If they are going to cast fit, smart athletic women then they should do the same with men.  If they still can't win a season, too damn bad.

I hated when they did that with all stars (with a passion).  It tells all other teams, whether they are in shape, smart, young couples or parent/child or smart fit young women, or seniors, ect.  That they aren't good enough.  That we have to stack the deck in your favor to "let" you win.

That is complete and utter crap.

I mean you look at the female teams that are generally well liked (or thought to be good), or last a long time rarely is strength the issue that gets them eliminated.

Really the only time that I can recall this happening is the bowling Moms.    Though admittedly if Bama had managed to go to the correct airport and secure tickets, it is exceedingly doubtful that this out of shape team, could have kept pass with either of the younger teams.

Neobie, one thing you should have learned from reading posts on this thread is NEVER trust anything Bertram van Munster says publicly. It has no better than a 50% chance of being accurate. I personally do not believe based on other evidence on this forum that the start of AR13 will be "April or May". He is just trying to fake us out and keep our eye off the ball. Plan on the next 2.5 weeks for the start of AR13. I think there is a better than 50% chance that this will prove to be correct.

Yes, BVM has a poor track record for accuracy with us but I love the very "original and insane" route comments!

We have loads of production resumes leading us to think that filming could start as soon as the next couple of weeks but certainly continuing into or even starting in April remains a possibility.

So everyone travel with eyes peeled and cameras ready!

Most TARs have included a lot of "insane" episodes and tasks; so nothing new there.  But "original"could mean TPTB have tried to go to new locations again.

Africa and the Middle East are in perpetual turmoil and travel in these areas has been discouraged by the State Department.

South America and Central America could show up in TAR13 (we skipped them in TAR12) - Belize could finally make it. Surinam?

Malta looks like a good site along with Prague, Bucharest and Sofia.

I'm hoping that TAR13 leaves from Washington DC on May 20 headed for Zurich as a first stop!

Then TAR 14 could film during the summer and be in post-production by late summer for a fall premiere...

Winning female team. It is so sad that there never have been a female team, to win. As i see it they only ones there have been great racers where Dustin and Kandice. So they need to caste females like them. Lyn & Karlyn in season 10 was so stupid when they need it not to be( wrong airport). And Charla & Mirna was so annoying. There have to be a Female team to win soon, it is season 13 up next come on now!!

My proposal. For the very last season, cast 13 teams of totally unlikable people. Then have them go leave from New York. Their first stop will be Siberia. Then leave them there. The show ends.  :groan: :groan:

I'm tired. Don't mind me.

I think BVM might be talking about how the route is structured; it might have a lot of Equator crossings (yay), zig-zagginess (walking zombies = cool) or another great circle (please, no).

I think we're due for another Oceania visit, no? Perhaps a trip to the land of the Kiwi (it's been...3 years/7 US editions)? Copenhagen would be another good place for a leg, as would many parts of Germany (really TAR has only focused on southern Germany with the exception of Berlin, and the tasks took a backseat to the assholiness of multiple racers that leg). Indonesia would also be great as an alternative to the culture shock of India.

I still remember 20 March 12:50pm I am walking on the street near Entrance D.....

And the people said they saw it at 1:00-2:00pm.....

I guess if it is real, it should be many people saw it.....

As it is lunch hour.....

Someone also spotted the TAR in TST station.....

I am not sure if they really come but some said they saw it....

I would like to try to ask the people working in central station again tmr....

I will be pissed IF they really come.....as I nearly saw them.....

This is verified is of vital importance. I wonder if they were watching Amazing Race Asia 3. I don't think that AR13 would have gotten there undetected, although it is possible if going westward from the U.S.

Please keep us informed as best you can, amazing_hey.

Thanks for the detective work amazing__hey!!

We know that Phil was cycling in NZ on Sun 3/16.

Could he have gotten from NZ to a theoretical west coast departure city in time for pre-departure publicity shoots, which are usually 1-2 days beforehand, and still have made it to HK for this sighting on 3/20?

Hopefully apskip can tell us if it is in fact feasible from an airline point of view, although the schedule seems quite tight to me, and would mean that HK was the first city.

I do believe that HK has a corporate team building type local version race, so perhaps it was something to do with that instead.

And I thought TARA3 was still casting? ???  Wasn't the deadline extended? We also need to check on that.

So lets take this with a grain of salt, but use all of our resources to confirm or deny this!

Off to check some of my sources!

In answer to Peach's question, here is some flight work relevant to the answer, which is YES HE CAN DO IT:

The flight from Christchurch via Auckland is 0 hours on the clock and with the 20 hour time zone difference between New Zealand and LA that makes the total flying time 20 hours(long connection in Auckland). The nonstop flight from Los Angeles to Hong Kong into the jet stream is just 15 hours.  The total flying time of about 25 hours makes it easy to fit into 4 days along with 2 days at the starting point.

Air New Zealand flights 620 and 6 originate at 1115 on March 16 and arrive LA 1110 on the 16th. For the 17th, the choices out of Auckland(add an appropriate and shorter connection for non-Sunday flights CHC to AKL) are:

QF26 1855 1045 same day
NZ2   2230 1430 same day
NZ8  1915 1130 same day

Choices LA to HKG are:

CX886 1220 to 1855 +1
CX883 2320 to 0540 +2
UA887 1210 to 1840 +1

Phil would leave LAX on the 18th or 19th. That gives him 2 days to do his thing in Los Angeles. There is no other West Coast city where there has the same feasibility. However, San Francisco has a nonstop flight to HKG and a  nonstop flight in from Auckland. The extra hour flying time to San Francisco could be important. However, since Los Angeles has opened Amazing Race before and San Francisco has not, I actually think if this scenario is correct that it would be through San Francsisco, so here are those flights:

NZ90 1115 - 1235 CHC AKL, connect to NZ8 1930 1145 AKL SFO same for either March 16 or 17 except shorter CHC to AKL connection on 17th

CX879 1305 1900 +1 SFO HKG

Thanks and nice effort amazing_hey! :sucks

Just a translation job from the original poster, lokhinterr, for you guys to pick apart:

"It was a couple of days back when I saw two Caucasian women at Central MTR Station, buying tickets for the subway. They were wearing vests/singlets and shorts, carrying big backpacks, and holding a yellow envelope labelled 'The Amazing Race'."

and...

"It was at the ticket machines between Exits C & D, at around noon last Thursday. Maybe they even caught me on camera!"

and when asked why he/she didn't stalk the racers...

"I've got work to return to!"

Someone postulated that they could have made it to Central on the Airport Express, changed trains to Tsim Sha Tsui, and again to catch the train up to Mainland China... But I'm not sure if that requires buying extra tickets at Central...

amazing_hey, same luck here with bumping into TAR, eh?

Random from that site:

Where TAR met TAR:A... Is this Prague?
Title: Re: Lucky TAR 13 Talk!

Neobie:

I can't tell you if that is Prague airport, but I can tell you that an analysis I published in an appropriate thread(I can't remember which one) concluded that the morning that the two AR12 teams were essentially stranded in Prague airport could not have overlapped at all with the ARA2 tems that were never near Prague airport but came in and out of its train station.

The crossing of the two races was a myth, although they were in the same city at the same time.

OK.  Now those people with the know about LAX and SFO can we find if a filming permit was issued for any of the days in question:  March 20 21 or thereabouts?
Title: Re: Lucky TAR 13 Talk!
Post by: apskip on March 25, 2008, 12:15:04 PM
Not quite, GMAN. If Phil left the morning of the AR13 start it had to be no later than March 19 to be in Hong Kong by March 20 in the early evening. Teams would be long gone from either SFO or LAX by March 20. The search for the permit has to be for March 18 or 19.
Title: Re: Lucky TAR 13 Talk!
Post by: georgiapeach on March 25, 2008, 12:19:24 PM
Apskip, I think that Phil is still doing the cycling race on the 16th, so need to assume the 17th for him to leave NZ.

And the sighting is for noon on the 20th so need them there by that AM or the night before..

G-man, the dates for CA airports would have to be prob the 18th if we think they need to be there by early morning on the 20th., and yes, will call if this seems probable.

Have some other ways of checking this out first that may be quicker and more definitive. ;)

This remains only a possible sighting--much work to do before we get too excited here guys.

Peach, I can think of 2 possibilities for otf that make sense:

1. OTF is a three-character combination that may refer to: The OpenType standard for digital typography, which uses font files with the file extension .otf; Output Text Format , R/3 ...

2. On the Fly

A quick, impromptu interview of a reality show contestant intended to convey the contestant's emotions and actions in the moment, as opposed to the more reflective sit-down interview. This makes much better sense and fits into what we have been looking forward to.  A possible MARCH 18 - 20th start just seems to have been much much too early.  But this fits nicely with a speculated late April or early May start.  So if the gang gets together on April 20th or 21st is it still looking like LAX or SFO?  But now it could be anywhere in the 50 United States.  And there is still that way out there speculation of the teams actually leaving the USofA  incongnito and meeting together with Phil somewhere overseas.  Belize, for example.

The April 7 start with a small crew could be for the pre-departure, at-home interviews.  The larger crew would be needed on April 21 to May 30 to handle the many multiple camera shoots with the teams in action.

Added thought:  how about one of our West Coast spies applying for the job???

Hi Lars!

We all hope that TAR will come to our hometown one day.

And we always welcome new spoiler info here from new and old posters alike.

BUT! We take our spoilers very, very seriously here.

So in order to have any credibility here, you (and all of us spoiler posters) do need to tell us a little more.

"Heard" where? If this is a rumor on a message board, tell us that! Show us the source. Give us the link so we can research it more.

If you read it somewhere, show us where!

If this comes from factual info such as a film permit, a photo, or a source, tell us that.

If you have a private source that you can't quote publicly, you can tell one of us that in PM's privately and expect complete guaranteed confidentiality.

So tell us as much as you can and help us to take the info to the next level, okay?

But Boston?  :groan: :groan: We ALL heard Boston last time because that was WRP's "misdirection" city. Fake car hire, fake info...They wanted us to think Boston. Hopefully they'll be more creative this time!

TheScandinavian... I believe Michael was being facetious, no doubt based on Boston being a decoy starting line. It would be impractical to have a Boston starting line as it would be the day of the Boston Marathon. That is, unless they use the marathon to slow traffic enough to prevent teams from getting early flights  :lol3:

The start day for the Boston Marathon would be a perfect day for the AR13 teams and crews to blend in with the many runners, coaches and spectators leaving Boston Logan International Airport late in the afternoon for flights to wherever in Europe. They won't be flying nonstop to NewZealand or the Far East from Boston. The race takes 2 hours 9 minutes for the fastest men and about 5 hours for the slowest. The important thing to know is that the Boston Marathon Association is running buses from Boston back to Hopkinton from 1pm to 5pm.

I agree with those who think the starting city will be Boston and further I think the date will be the Patriot's Day celebration of April 21.

Actually zach, we don't know that the start date is that marathon day at all. We have a job application that suggests 4/7 to 4/21 as  a likely window for the start date, so it could be anytime. And could that application even be a red herring deliberately placed to throw us off the track? Prob not, but we have to look at all sides.

I think that knowing that Phil is already in LA may mean an earlier start date that we had thought--perhaps 4/10-4/17 even.

We also can't say that Boston is NOT the start city. We would like not to believe it because WRP used it as a decoy city last time (or else they planned to use it and then had a last minute change). There were a huge amount of Boston false leads out there last season, so Boston is a bit of a red flag to us right now.

Having said that, we will be looking at Boston just as we are other cities as a possible start line.

I can only say that it is perfect to use a city, there was used as a decoy city last season. Season 13 opening line "I'M STANDING HIGH ABOVE THE CITY OF BOSTON...where 11 TEAMS OF TWO ARE ABOUT TO EMBARK ON A RACE AROUND THE WORLD" Said by Phil.

It is gonna be Boston!!

Teen places i would like to see in TAR13.
1. Denmark, Copenhagen
2. Belgium, Brussels
3. Spain, Madrid
4. Greenland,  Godthab (Nuuk)
5. Angola, Luanda
6. Cameroon, Yaoundé
7. Malawi, Lilongwe
8. Tasmania
9. Fiji
10. Australia,  Melbourne

It could be great to see a edition there is not going to Asia!! ( the only one was season 8)

I think that Prague,  Czech Republic is 99% sure!!

God forbid :'(   If for some strange reason TPTB selected them for TAR13, it would be the end of TAR.   But it just won't happen.  If it does it would be the end for me.

An interesting list, but I am pretty sure that TAR13 will be heading to South America this time since the continent was completely ignored on TAR12.  Still a lot of places they have not been to in Central and South America:  Belize, Guatamala, Surinam, Devil's Island (that would be an interesting stop), Manaus and Recife on the Amazon.

When they stoop to this, it's a sure sign that van Munster and Doganieri have lost their marbles(anyone who has watched Oprah's Big Give may already have thought of that). I am repeating myself, but if BB retreads make it into the Amazing Race, it's time to start watching something else and go Cold Turkey on whatever AR is running and all future ARs. I hope the right World Race Productions people are listening.

I would also hate 2 see Big Brother contestants on TAR and The Scandinavian... you are getting waaay ahead of yourself sheesh!!

HOWEVER: Boston would be a good starting line and,

The Scandinavian just a few Questions as raised by Peach:
- How did you get Beacon Hill as the starting line and where?
- How do you know there will be 13 teams

I would prefer no other reality tv stars thank you.  But I would still probably watch.  Though the last Big Brother racer was on a team that in its first two episodes was worse then Jonathan & Victoria in their first two episodes, and I absolutely loathed them.  So please no Big Brother cast ever again.

Healthy and refreshed, Seymour targets ’08.

Exactly 50 days later, most of the players voluntarily — and I use the word loosely — found themselves back at Gillette Stadium for the start of the team’s offseason training program. If only Britney could turn it around that fast.

However, not everyone was there on Day 1, including budding stamp collector Randy Moss and continent-hopping Tom Brady, who apparently is auditioning for “The Amazing Race.”

Just so no one panics:

The Global Scavenger Hunt is starting Friday the 11th in San Francisco:

Quote
SAN FRANCISCO (Map, News) - The organizer of The Global Scavenger Hunt, a race around the world that begins in San Francisco on Friday, is tight-lipped about the countries and challenges that await 15 two-person teams raising money for charity during the three-week competition. Valvur, 53, won a similar race in 1989. He works as a branding manager in San Francisco and writes for CNN’s humor blog, Capitol Punishment.

After winning the 1989 race, why did you decide to stay involved? Who is not going to enjoy trips around the world? I also like watching people come back in and say, “Did you see? Did you go there?” when they discover something new. The thrill of discovery that you turned somebody on to something new is really cool.

How is The Global Scavenger Hunt different from “The Amazing Race”? In “The Amazing Race,” you have to get from one country to another and have to scramble to the airport. This doesn’t have that craziness — it’s pretty fast-paced, but the challenges start and end in the same city — then we all travel together to the next location.

What traits make for winners in The Global Scavenger Hunt? You got to be quick on your feet, and you have to be able to look at a town and figure out the local transportation system really quick. It’s a lot of map reading and time management.

Why did you think this race should raise money for charities instead of offering a big monetary prize to winners? Instead of ugly Americans running around the world, you’re traveling and at the same time giving a little bit back. We’ve had such a bad reputation in the world — it’s a tiny measure of repairing some of the damage.

The quick answer is that we don't know. The April 21 is a best guess based on all available information. However, this is most often not an exercise in TRUTH but is instead using information to best advantage to make an educated guess.

Any accepted contestant who is exposed as a contestant BEFORE the race begins--is eliminated with no ifs, ands, or buts, according to what I have been told. So someone who is telling "selected people" is stupid beyond belief to take that chance.

g-man the reason i think the 18th is because if the job starts on the 21 they need to have the tapes back in order for them to start work. the first leg is usually 2 or 3 days so in order for them to have the tapes the race needs to start 3 days earliar so those tapes can get back by the 21.

Unless that date includes the pre race footage.  No reason to send to wait for the end of the first leg for work to be done with that.  Things like the openers, the confessionals done before teh race, that type of stuff.

there was 2 dates on the job listning rememeber. the 7th and the 21st. i think the 7th part of it was what thats for.
Damn Kogs your right, I forgot all about that.   :groan:

Which is cool, the sooner the better.  Make you guys and gals get to work. :yess:

Based on what I know so far, I would say that the evidence for filming within Boston is just not there. I am still looking, but what I needed I have been told emphatically is not there....

Peach, it's been decades since I was an undergraduate and graduate student in the area and used Logan International Airport. My memory kicked into place and reminded me that Logan is NOT in Boston. It's actually in East Boston, with a small bit of it in Winthrop. This suggests that airport filming could be done with a permit from East Boston. The starting line could be anywhere in the overall Boston metoropolitan area. There are plenty of historical places for that and it will be Patriot's Day, the most important holiday of the year in the state of Massachusetts. The events of 1775 took place in Concord and Lexington, so those could be good places to look for filming activity.

apskip i know who peach has been calling and i personally have looked into boston my self. for all purposes they are not going to be there. and itss the boston marathon weekend next week. i doubt the city of boston will issue permits for them to film with the marathon going on that weekend

askip is correct that Concord and Lexington would be great and are NOT covered by the people I have spoken to so far   ;)... but there continues to be  no evidence for within Boston. Every small town outside Boston has it's own protocol though and it is nearly impossible to check them all...

kogs is also correct: I can tell you there will be NO film permits issued for Boston during the 18th to 21st...

However, I do NOT think that we are locked into a April 21 departure date. In fact, I suspect that it may well be earlier--but this is speculation from me and NOT spoiler info!

Most importantly, all you travelers--cameras at the ready please!  :hfive:

Let's not get locked in on Boston or any of the suburban locations: Concord, Lexington, Bunker Hill, etc.

Probably not LAX again.  So many more options exist.  So let's keep them open.  Where haven't they started from:  Atlanta?  Dallas/Fort Worth?  Washington DC?  Philadelphia?   Should be near an international airport with lots of travel possibilities.

But, trouble with airlines just may throw a monkey wrench in any well-laid plans.

Kogs, nobody has to set foot in Boston on Patriot's Day in order for there to be a great start for Amazing Race 13. Either Concord or Lexington would provide a stunning starting point of truly historic proprtions (it was April 19, 1775 but celebrated on Patriots Day in Massachusetts which this year is April 21). So, camera permits there if townships even bother with such things. For East Boston they probably have more infrastructure since things do happen at Logan Airport from time to time, so definitely filming permits there.

GMAN, I am not saying that this is the only possible starting city. Last time we were focused on cities headed for Latin America. The list for Europe is quite different. Let me offer a 17 Eastern Time Zone cities with nonstop flights besides Boston and New York metro(already been there and done that):

Philadelphia
Pittsburgh
Cleveland
Columbus
Cincinnati
Detroit
Indianapolis
Louisville
Baltimore
Washington DC
Nashville
Atlanta
Orlando
Tampa
Jacksonville
Charlotte
Raleigh/Durham

Each one has a small probability attached to it. However, I see Boston as having a much larger probability, maybe almost half.

Hello Michael!
Prague, Czech Republic is now 100% sure!! I have heard a rumor that Amanda and Ozzy from Survivor is gonna be on TAR14, i hope that is true! Ozzy rules!!

will you please stop posting crap without saying how you know.

The leg in Prague: There is gonna be clue on Charles Bridge, and a roadblock in Kinský Palace – Old Town Square. That is all i know. I do not know when the filming is gonna take place there. I have read on this site that the start day is 4-21-2008, but i do not know when they are gonna get to Prague, Czech Republic!!

Those took place already as part of the 7th leg of TARA2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Amazing_Race_Asia_2#Leg_7_.28South_Korea_.E2.86.92_Germany_.E2.86.92_Czech_Republic.29) (also known as the Extended Funeral March of Henry and Terri, Part the Second). I doubt they (US edition) would use the same locations and task so soon after another edition, even if it wasn't broadcast in the US.

Because you can never use the same location again, do you remember Survivor: Pearl Islands, and the next season Survivor: All-Stars same location same location!!!!!!!!!

I didn't say "never", I said "doubt". Also, I'm well aware of Survivor re-using locations (Palau and Half-ASS, for example), however TAR and Survivor are different shows. TAR does repeat cities (most recently the trip to Anchorage in TAR12), but they rarely re-use landmarks and even more rarely re-use tasks (unless it's a famous landmark like the Great Wall or the Eiffel Tower OR if there really isn't much to do there like Ropes/Slopes vol. 2). I don't think WRP would have so little creativity (or so little knowledge of the other editions) that they would go to a fairly large city and go to the same two landmarks in the same order and receive the same type of clue in two different editions. At the very least Survivor has different twists and different islands.

On another note, I'm in agreement with apskip; if there's another morning start to the race, then I'm sure that there are ways to navigate Boston in spite of the marathon (unless all the taxi drivers close up shop for the morning - Bostoners can confirm or deny this). Not to mention, TAR has attempted flying during busy travel hours (flying in Africa during the Hajj comes to mind).

There are a lot of places in Prague which provide good action spots besides the old tried and true which have been mentioned.  For example:
Schwarzenberg Palace
Sternberg Palace
The National Museum
Strabov Monastery
The Observation Tower (looks like the Eiffel Tower)
Wenceslas Square
Wallenstein Palace and Garden
Troja Palace and Garden
Bertrama (The Mozart Museum)
The Dvorak Home and Museum
Historic Nostitz Theatre
Powder Gate
Municipal House
Karlstein Castle
Krivoklat Castle
just to mention a few

If the roadblock is indeed located in the Staromestske Namesti, then the task is probably for one team member to count the number of steps as he or she ascends to the viewing gallery of Old Town Hall Tower. The person must then note what the figures are on Kostel Panny Marie Pred Tynem which can be seen from the viewing gallery.  The team member than must descend the stairs backwards to reach the bottom.  If the team member than has the two correct answers, the guard will hand the team their next clue.

Remember that April 20th remains speculation based on the job apps upstream--could be a little earlier or even later...

Sadly though, from the Futon Critic, CBS has released its summer schedule and there is no TAR 13... :'(

SO we'll be waiting to hear at May upfronts if we have a confirmed place on the fall schedule this time.

Watch the show get pushed back to a November start now, because there's no room for TAR thanks to "Greatest American Dog" and, of course, Big Brother. Not that upset with Big Brother, as it's the custom to air that in the summer and TAR can't replace that despite Big Brother airing now in all three of the last Spring TAR timeslots.

So, autumn it is. We'll be lucky for a September premiere; the big election coverage may definitely push the 13th edition back again, even if it's on a Sunday. Sucks that there will be two consecutive autumn/winter seasons of TAR, IMO it feels great watching the show in warmer weather.

Of course, post CBS upfronts may have me actually laughing in the event of the lack of any TAR mention at all. Which may be a good thing; I don't think TAR13 is ready yet, so it's not on the schedule. Plus, the Survivor timeslot is listed as TBA, until that reality show eventually debuts. Finally, if TPTB can toss TAR12 on the fall schedule 13 days before its debut, then who's to say it won't happen this summer?!

The filming dates havn`t even started, so off cause there is no proof with pictures from Prague. But it is gonna happen!!
In Season 5 the production moved the Dubai legs of the race from the originally planned location of Istanbul, Turkey.Istanbul was, however, visited by the Race two seasons later.Elise Doganieri and Bertram van Munster have talked off Prague in a long time. That is how it was on in The Amazing Race Asia to see how it worked. So it is on in The Amazing Race 13. Just wait and see!!

(in millions) 13.05 ( from hollywoodreporter.com) what is the most off any Season off The Amazing Race! ( so cool if they got on the race)

Why in the world would CBS want to schedule more of that series of Blundering Bums?  The Bothersome Busybodies have the lowest of low audiences of any continuing series - an average of 5.2 to 6.1 million Bored Bumpkins - even reruns of reruns pull in higher audience averages.  Of course, one has to remember who that chick Julie Chen is married to, and BB could be his payback for her warm embrace.

September or late August seems to be the earliest TAR13 could get on the schedule considering that the teams have not even left town yet.  And a new Survivor is not on location yet.  So the Thursday 8PM slot may still be open after the dogs have had their day (can't  just wait to see how the critics tag on to that dog of a show!)  Any night is pretty good except Friday night - the graveyard for shows on the way out.  Sunday night is not really too bad even with the NFL disrupting start time.

TAR13 will be on the schedule sometime, we just have to wait and see.

Pure logic says that the ScandanavianAmazingR. is likely to be right about Europe:
Czech Republic ( 100 %) and Spain they have talked of those cities: Madrid and Valencia.

The Czech Republic has never been visited by the Amazing Race except when racers were thrown off course in their air travel and were forced to spend hours in Prague airport.

Spain was visited in AR3 (drive from Cabo de Roca Portugal to the ferry terminal at Algiceras Spain) and in AR10 when Barccelona was the second-to-last leg and the one that eliminated Dustin and Kandice.

I see both these countries as ones that are overdue for a visit. My logic says that Prague and Madrid are the most probable cities for an AR visit.

Hmm. It seems the possible Prague rumor is getting juicier.  Still TAR US hasn't set foot on the Czech Republic. If filming starts on April 20, that would great also it will give me an excuse to throw a party since it's my birthday on that date.  :sucks

Technically Ron/Christina (?) connected in Prague from Vilnius to Dubrovnik, but I get what you're sayin ;)

And I think lots of people will be throwing parties on April 20

Yep, that's a fact.

I just can't let this one go by without comment. SUCKS is welcome to administer its forum as it pleases. I personally view that forum regularly but would never post there because of the way individuals are treated there.

Here at RFF things are different. It is frequently hard at this early stage before the race has even started to know what is a fake spoiler and what is the real thing. We may not stomp on false spoilers, but a number of people including myself have really good memories. We will not forget if anyone is caught faking spoilers, which are the lifeblood of this forum. Those individuals are advised in advance to go away and not attempt to post here again.

Yes, Chateau, you're exactly right. Those predictions are in no way SPOILERS and are always labeled as less than certain by their authors.  I have even been known to go out on a limb or 10 or 100 on occasions to state hunches, predictions, guesses, or hypotheses.

There is a difference thought between saying this is what I think/hope/expect to happen, and saying 100% I know this is what happens, without having any actual proof. :duno:

If TheScandinavian is only speculating, I for one would appreciate it if they perhaps modified the way they stated these speculations, to make it clear that they have no actual proof, and are just predicting what is most likely to happen. If they do have proof, then please either post it here in the thread as requested, or if it is confidential, get in contact with one of the Moderators privately via PM .

As Marathon Monday approaches here in MA, I can tell you that the city is full of international athletes, media and lots of traffic.

Boston is very full of tourists and of course, the Red Sox will be playing that day as well. Police will be busy and streets from Hopkinton into Boston will be filled. To be honest, I will echo sentiments that TAR is not going to start here this weekend.

Now, my home city of Providence, RI is another matter.   :funny: :funny:   :funny: :funny:

As the weekend approaches, and are speculation (not prediction) is that TAR13 is about to embark on another race around the world, let's hope that all our good spies are out there keeping track of what is going on.

Then again, we may be really blowing hot air and the race has already begun.

No one yet has discovered any filming permits for the period April 19 - 22 any where.

And, my favorite twist, the teams have been flown individually overseas to an unknown location and will first meet Phil somewhere over there instead of in the USofA.  Belize is still a good possibility.

Belize would have worked out, but there are still many other locations the teams could start at after being smuggled out of the USofA: Mexico, some island in the caribbean, or even Hawaii.

I'm wondering if we are too early? ???

Based partly on Phil:

and partly that by tomorrow I should have heard from ALL of the major possible departure hubs...

and to date there is NO sign of any official departure evidence.

Could the job app be misleading us?

ARE we a little early?

All this MAY  mean that they ARE sending the teams individually overseas to some Caribbean Island where they will meat up with Phil.  Islands such as: Puerto Rico, Bermuda, The Bahamas, etc.  It would have to be some island with good connections for flights on to South America which may be where they are headed first.  All speculation, of course.

Following production companies have been authorized for filming in Prague 1 District (there are the most famous landmarks in Prague) - from April 2008 to June 2008:
CzechTurism, Film Makers, Sirena Film, Axman Production, ZL Production, Stillking Films.

World Race Productions did not requested a licence for filming yet.

If they haven't requested a filming permit by now, it probably means that TAR13 will NOT be going to Prague this time around.  If the teams are leaving this week, all filming permits will have been requested.  I doubt that TPTB would start the race without having all locations and filming permits in hand.  UNLESS one of the outfits named above is actually working for World Race Productions and is hiding their name.  Could be.  TPTB are getting pretty sneaking about setting things ups so we guys won't find them.

The great thing about the LA airport is that you never know who or what you'll see. Last time we were there, we saw Maurice Jones-Drew. This time, as we were waiting for the team to get checked in at the airport, we got a glimpse of what appeared to be some competitors on The Amazing Race. I saw a camera crew shooting two blondes wearing hot pink sweatsuits as they quickly walked outside the terminal. Hmmm, don't think we've ever seen THAT kind of team before on the show (says she with heavy sarcasm). A few minutes later, we caught a glimpse of two more pairs. They didn't seem to be rushing too much, so I'm thinking they aren't going to last very long on this show.

Great find, Peach!   :waves: If it pans out (and it looks promising), then it couldn't be the observatory I wrote you about: they're closed only on  Mondays. Another possibility: the Huntington Gardens (http://www.huntington.org/Information/photo.html) that Chateau found for a previous Media Day: they're closed to the public only on Tuesdays. As for the airport, there are too many outbound destinations from LAX to make a reasonable guess without more info.

They would not go to India east to west.

Not. again.  :funny:

@swimmer: Possibly; Europe is a tough nut to crack (unlike South America or Oceania) - I would say that going west to east, Sweden is a possibility - an aside, I'd love another leg in Stockholm; not so much Ireland (it would be a little too late unless the course is like TAR3 or TAR6). Going east to west, both dates are possible, though day 21 would be a little more likely for a Europe visit. Of course, all of this is based on race history and also assumes that we'll have a regular-length season.*

*I'm guessing it's entirely too soon to know if the seasons is going to be abridged like last time, right?

Thanks to Peach's glorious discovery I decided to go down to LAX and check it out.  Again.  I had spent last Sunday afternoon there (4/20/08) and that was a bust.

But today's trip yields some new information.  I found several staffers who had seen filming yesterday.  One team was at the northmost main entry of Tom Bradley terminal having an interview.  Not rushed.

One team was at the American Airlines terminal being interviewed off in a quiet corner.

One United Employee in the domestic terminal (#6) had heard of TAR filming (she actually said Amazing Race) that happened in the their international terminal (#7).

Two employees at the United International terminal had seen 3 teams arrive and purchase tickets at the far east end of the counters.  I asked if they had seen colored flags around any where:  "Any little flags stuck on the poles over there?  Like red and..."  And the guy said "Oh yes, Red and Gold"  That's close enough for me!  The gal said there was one team that was 'hippie' like with long white hair (she demonstrated with her hands at mid chest level).  They were an older couple, as in, male and female.  She estimated their ages to be 40's or 50's.  She also mentioned the two girls and another team that was just a regular young couple in their 20's.

No employees at either AA (terminal 4) or Delta (terminal 5) had seen any ticket buying by filmed pairs going at their counters.

By the way excellent detective work peachs and Chateau  :jumpy:  :jam:

BRUSH WITH GREATNESS
It's been a while since I've published a new post under the "Brush with Greatness" series. I think the last time was when I saw Pierce Brosnan downtown. I'm probably wrong on that.

Anyways, it's time for a new entry. It turns out that a current resident of St. John's College sent in an application to the CBS series Amazing Race and was accepted as a participant. She's from Alaska and apparently the Amazing Race folk were quite impressed by video entry. The only reason that she did not appear on the show was that neither of her parents wanted to go on the show with her. Unfortunately, she could not find another suitable partner and thus had to bow out.

It will be the first series to replace a failed show. I just wish CBS won't schedule it against a big series like Dancing with the Stars or American Idol. I would not put it past the idiots there to do something like this.
Title: Re: Lucky TAR 13 Talk!
Post by: mswood on May 04, 2008, 09:06:21 PM
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if it did turn out to be used a a mid season replacement show.  But it was great to see the show average its 3rd highest season average as filler.

As long as we get a 14th cycle approved before the season starts is all I care about.  Get the current one in the can, and get another cycle up and ready.  With the pounding that CBS took this spring in the ratings, they are kicking themselves for not approving cycle 13 in time.

The one down side on this is that if the show is designed as filler, I can certainly see it being an 11 episode season instead of the normal 13.

Hopefully we will get solid info one way or the other with up fronts.

Though I strongly disagree with the article saying it plays well no matter what.  After finally digging up final rating numbers for all the episodes since the show started (except one episode of season 4, damn it).  The show ratings wise has only been successful in seasons 5, 6, 7, 10, and 12.

cbs ordered this today

Quote
CBS has made its pilot pickup calls, greenlighting two comedies and four dramas for its 2008-09 sked.
The half-hours are "Worst Week," based on a British format, from scribe Matt Tarses and Universal Media Studios; and "Project Gary," starring Jay Mohr as a recently divorced dad, from ABC Studios and scribes Ed Yeager and Ric Swartzlander.

Dramas are as expected: Jerry Bruckheimer's "Eleventh Hour" and "The Mentalist," from Warner Bros. TV; "The Ex List" (formerly "Mythological Ex") from 20th Century Fox TV; and murder mystery "Harper's Island," from CBS Paramount Network TV
(Harpers Island is for midseason).

what does this mean for tar?  if unit or moonlight dont get renewed and no other drama's get picked up theres a good chance tar13 would start in september then

I say it looks good for a September start.  From several analyst just of of what they have picked up Moonlighting most likely if picked up will be a mid season.  Unit was picked up for a rumored Friday slot.

CBS Doubles Up on ‘Race’
By Josef Adalian

The CBS 2008-09 schedule just got a little more “Amazing.”

The network has decided to double its order of the Emmy-winning reality show for next season. While one edition had already been greenlit, CBS told producers on Tuesday that it was ordering a second edition of the show.

That sets the stage for two installments of “Race” to air next season.

CBS isn’t commenting on its scheduling plans, but based on the network’s past actions, it probably will air one edition of the show in the fall and another next spring.

Despite the Writers Guild of America strike, CBS aired just one installment of “Race” during the current season. That edition ran from November through January.

The two-season order for “Race” covers the show’s 13th and 14th cycles.

Bertram Van Munster, Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman are the executive producers of “Race,” while Elise Doganieri co-created the show with Van Munster and serves as co-exec producer.

If TAR13 starts its run in September, then I would look for TAR14 to be scheduled to start after the first of the year.  Maybe late January or early February.

Unless, of course, they are stupid enough to give Julie Chen and her house of BB's another prime time run starting in February.

Attn: Amazing Race and BB Fans

So I have been trying this every couple of days writing a letter to CBS Exec: Johnathan Littman, of Amazing race, to get me and my dad on it. I have come to realize that through the bb8 season and my survival and tactical choices along side my dads wisdom and wealth of knowledge that CBS should take my dad and I on the next Amazing Race. I'm an avid watcher of the show, and the acoustics of the show I am truly a fan. The chance to get my dad on with me for a father & son chance of a lifetime is something i have been pushing for. If you thought my gameplay rocked in competitions toward BB and thought my tactics and gameplay were effective in BB, then think of whats to come in an AMAZING RACE setup. I have been training for it, working hard to better myself, and to gear my dad up for the hopes that Mr. Littman will get word of my letters, and perhaps give me and my dad a shot at a lifetime experience. If you can aid our success by writing to Mr. Littman on out behalf, that would be a blessing in disguise. Here is the info you need, in hopes to aid our success.

That's definitely worth a personal letter to Littman and van Munster. Forget tthe petition. Swamp them with negative opinions about the general topic of any players in over reality shows or any celebrities begin allowed on teh Amazing Race. I'm watching TAR 5 on DVD. Allison of BB certainly didn't add much. Of course, she and Donny got eliminated after the second leg. After her and Romber, I think two reality teams are enough. We don't need another person from BB in TAR. Mactors are bad enough.
