The First Ever Winter Edition of "Big Brother" Begins Tuesday, Feb 12, 9:00 PM with Wednesday and Sunday Broadcasts at 8:00 PM
The first ever winter edition of BIG BROTHER premieres Tuesday, Feb. 12 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) with additional broadcasts on Wednesdays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) beginning Feb. 13 and Sundays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) beginning Feb. 17. Julie Chen returns as host of the live weekly eviction broadcast.
BIG BROTHER has been a summer reality program staple for the past eight years, attracting a young demographic in each of its three weekly broadcasts.

They don't say yet RFWill and they say nothing about the summer edition either so we'll see.

CBS will announce other January and February sked changes later Monday. Meanwhile, NBC continues to shake up its post-January sked, dumping "Bionic Woman" and "Life" for a double dose of Dick Wolf. "Law & Order," which was supposed to return on Sundays next month, will instead be back in its old 10 p.m. Wednesday slot, starting Jan. 2. It'll get a two-hour premiere that night, airing from 9-11 p.m. On Jan. 9, NBC will begin airing repeats of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" Wednesdays at 9 p.m. Skein's first-run segs have been airing on NBC sister cabler USA Network this season. NBC didn't offer any word on the fate of "Bionic" or "Life." Latter skein has been renewed for a full season, but NBC hasn't made any official decisions on "Bionic." Eye scheduling execs, staying true to form, have slotted the winter "Big Brother" in a manner that's minimally disruptive to the net's current sked. While the Tuesday edition of "Brother" displaces the scripted series "The Unit," the Wednesday and Sunday episodes take the place of reality shows--"Kid Nation" and "The Amazing Race"--- that will have wrapped their respective runs by February. Winter air pattern for "Brother" is also very similar to the skein's summer sked, in which episodes air on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday nights. Among the potential skeins on CBS's winter slate: "Jericho," "Swingtown," "Million Dollar Password," "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and "The Captain." It's unclear if the ninth season of "Brother" will still air in the summer.

Showtime says they haven't made any announcements about BB but to sign up for their emails and they will keep you posted if you do that!
i think they will do it again because they got good ratings last summer and they would be stupid not to do it again with the writer's strike still going on and as of now there is no end in sight! They have turned down every proposal they got so far! They want their money!

The cast will probably be revealed a week before the first show since they will be in sequester by then and will enter the house five days before the premiere to get footage for the first show so I think we'll know who they are on Feb 5th and they will enter the BB house on the 7th.

Won't be long now till they'll be announced or spoiled and we can totally get to ripping out a new set of houseguests and leave the BB8's behind. Or at least listen to them rip on the new set too. Ha!
And hey, if you live in Oregon, and are looking for a place to see the BB9 Premiere – check out Kail's party! There will be a Premiere party on February 12 and it'll be hosted by James Rhines from BB6 and Allstars. Planning to attend with James and Kail are Jen, Kaysar, Howie, Nick, Jennifer and Rachel – among others! There will be a Meet and Greet, Dinner, the Premier and then an After Party too. As for more rumors – there is a possibility we might see the BB8 Alternate, Samantha, which would make me laugh since I keep asking people who the heck she was, why she was cut, so on and so forth and no one knows anything. Maybe she'll pop back up in BB9!
It's also been rumored that this season will be as short as only 6 weeks, making it half a regular season in length. I'm not sure how that would change the dynamics of the game when it comes to evictions, and strategies. It seems hardly long enough to even get to know the Houseguests – and it would put it ending before May Sweeps, which doesn't seem like a good idea. Of course, what do I know –it might be simply so they have more time to cast for BB10, which is said (currently) to be airing as normal come July.
Oh, and the guy from Arkansas who was bragging about being on? Robyn Kass popped into the Sucks board to make sure we all know that is NOT TRUE. Even if he HAD been chosen, opening his mouth like that would cause him to be cut immediately. So, that rumor is definitely untrue.
All of the houseguests should be at least 21 this time around, as they want more booze – LONG LIVE BEER PONG!
Bring it on BB9! We're READY!

I think it came about because of the two seasons in a year of Big Brother. That makes sense but obviously the time doesn't :lol: I could see them shortening it, but not so much as it being only 6 weeks. Like even two double evictions a season or something would make sense to give them the time for BB10. But also its not like they can't cast when BB9 is showing *shrug*

If the show starts in February it will end in April
July = February August = March September = April
that would give them more than enough time to change the house -- i'm sure if bb10 in the summer is a go they will begin casting while BB9 is airing.

??? ??? ??? Every TV show including the news shows has a change of scenery. If not it would be really boring to watch. They have chosen to redecorate so the HGs and the viewers get something new each season. Kinda of like how things and smileys change on here. It is to keep you happy and interested. :2cents:

I don't quite recall but sounds right. She may had a floral decor. I do remember Kaysar having the real cool room, all red and black, love the combo. I remember James having a nice room but forget the colors, I think it was done in blue.

:( Changes in the house decor doesn't really concern me, but the house location does. If they use the same BB house (on the CBS back lot), then the "outdoor" scenes may be limited. I heard that winter is the rainy season in Southern California (L.A. area), and the temps can get downright chilly at night. This might limit the sunbathing and swimming pool activities, but the hot tub/spa could get a lot of use. :snicker: hmmm........ :duno:

I can't believe the show is coming back already...such a busy time for me...American Idol and basketball...I liked it being the summer when I had nothing else to watch.
Also I live on the east coast and not looking forward to them being out getting tans while I'm freezing and digging out of snow. :meow:

Im gonna cry. Our credit card info was stolen and we had to cancel both our credit cards (because they could have our social security number because of this). And I just found out that it could take up to 90 days for the new account because we had to get new cards/number, and file a fraud report which has to be investigated. Until that is through the accounts will be frozen. :'(

I know, and honestly had there not been a foreign transaction fee on there, I wouldn't have noticed. I would've just thought it was something my husband charged or something. LOL! Although I think he would tell me before charging 2,000.00 (in three seperate transactions). Yikes!
Im sure my mom would help me. It sucks not having a debit card either. LOL! I did have that "can't happen to me" attitude but I know it CAN, heck I know people its happened to that don't even use their card online and only for emergancies in the stores.
It just sucks knowing that a number can ruin someones life/credit. Like the credit card/social security. Just one number.

I was trying to figure out the schedule prior to the premiere episode of BB9 on 2/12
The way I figured from previous BB seasons....here's how it probably will go down...
BB9 houseguests will start their pre-premiere sequester on 1/31 in order to do paperwork and have their cast photo pics taken and whatnot.....They are usually sequestered separately for a week before entering the house.
The houseguests will enter the house on 2/7, five days before the first show in order to get footage for the first show, the entrance, meeting each other, first HOH comp and nominations.
The BB9 cast will be revealed by CBS and online on 2/5, one week before the show.
This is all my guessing....of course I'll post any concrete updates!

Well they better find something that is interesting for them to do inside the house... it's pretty cold in So Ca right now we're in the lower 50's (sorry that's extremely cold for us) it's rainy and if it stays that way for awhile (March and April are rainy for us) going outside might be limited. Although some coming into the house might feel the 50's compaired to their winter temps might be a blessing and enjoy being outside... but right now it's 48 my heat is on and so is the fireplace!!! So I wonder not only what are the secrets but what will they do? It'll be interesting for sure... can't wait :yess:

Most likely the 14 houseguests have been sequestered as of right now, so I've doubt they've seen commercials regarding the twist. I may be wrong, but usually they pump up the BB commercials or promote the twist after the HGs are sequestered.
Anyways, the High School Bullies speculation wasn't completely wrong. That falls into the enemies category. Maybe one duo of enemies was a high school bully and the person he/she picked on? Guess we'll never know.

BB9 ends in April, it is possible TAR13 starts and then ends right before BB10. Someone said they like their sunday spot so I don't think it would be going on while Big Brother was!!!

I think it's a little too early to start sequester but that is very possible.
From past knowledge, they are sequestered for a week and then enter the house five days before the premiere show which would mean that the entrance will take place same day Survivor starts on the 7th.

Does anybody think that the first HOH competition might be live? This year the show starts on a Tuesday and the live shows are going to be on Wednesday's this year.
Last season it started Thursday July 5th, and then the next Thursday (which is when the live shows happened) is when we had our first eviction..

I'm just glad I finally got a DVR so I can now just tape the shows that I miss when I work and can watch them when I get home :)
Me too Michael, and I can play it back on my pc, something I've wanted for a long time.
I have to figure out how to do that but I'm sure it'll be easy since my TV is like...2 feet from my computer.

Mine is a DVDR? same thing or no? I can record to a DVD, format it then play it on the PC or just watch through my wintv , still I can't get my lower channels to tune in right, I hate my cable and guess I'll have to wait until 2009 when they switch over the outdated analog.
Does anybody think that the first HOH competition might be live? This year the show starts on a Tuesday and the live shows are going to be on Wednesday's this year.

The premiere show as usual will show the cast entering the house, picking their bed, meeting each other, first HOH comp, nominations. Wed show will be veto comp, sunday's show will be veto ceremony and following tuesday will be first live eviction and hoh comp. Tuesdays will be like Thursdays of previous BB seasons. Again, this is what I'm guessing....I could be wrong though!

They will just work extra hours or something to put it together, im sure they know this because of the Tuesday and Wendsday show - its normally Tuesday, Thursday then Sunday.
If you think about it, the person who wins HOH on Thursdays has to nominate on Friday. So im sure they could just add more of the nom ceremony, or air them getting to know each other better and such. I mean really whats in between those anyways? Its the nom ceremony and the POV ceremony but I don't think its such a big deal.

the HGs aren't sequestered yet -- it'll be either this week, or Feb 4th.
They should be starting sequester on Thursday. I think CBS will reveal the cast next Tuesday, a week before the premiere show.

I'm hoping for it to be House Calls. I only listen to it when they have the Evicted HGs on, but to hear Janelle's voice instead of Marcellas or Bunky or Jase, it'll just make the show that much more enjoyable.

I am kind of hoping that some of them are team comps while others are just all individual and who ever wins wins it for them self and the team.

I read somewhere that the houseguests entered the house today and had their first HOH competition but no clue on who won it....come on Tuesday, I'm so ready for the drama!!!!

Afternoon Pudding!! Paradise Hotel 2 is on TV. It used to be on the FOX network originally. Don`t know if FOX is the one that picked it up this time around. I know it starts tomorrow night but have only seen it advertised on one our Canadian Stations. I will do some research, if I find anything out I will let you know!!! New BB, New Survivor & New Paradise Hotel!!! I`m going to be one busy girl!! I really need to invest in a DVR!!
