Title: Betting Odds
Post by: Slowhatch on February 12, 2007, 11:53:33 PM
Bodog odds (http://www.bodog.com/sports-betting/tv-film-movie-props.jsp) are up; Rob/Amber are the favorites and Charla/Mirna have the worst odds.  ???

If you're right, Puddin, put all your money on Eric and Dee and win a bundle!  That way you can afford to buy the fatted calve for the spit in the huge kitchen of our castle!! Yum, Yum.

I was contemplating an AR11 bet at bodog.com until I actually called them to find out about the mechanics of how they oeprate. There is no current problem with it, but there is risk for the payout in May. They have strained financial relationships exemplified by banks not working with them to accept checks to start an account balance. What does that tell you? The BODOG solution is to waive all fees for credit card transactions and other forms of cash-equivalents. They would be out of business if they could not use cash-equivalents. On the payout side, with a $50 maximum bet, the money transfer payout fee is $20. They are currently waiving that too, but are not guaranteeing anything about how long that will last. My guess is that by mid May that waiver will have disappeared and you will have $20 deducted from any winnings.

As far as the odds go, theirs are pretty bad. They compensate a little with a 15% account starting bonus on your first bet.

Caveat Emptor(and it you don't know what this means go to a Latin dictionary)!

Do you know of another reliable IT betting parlor? I have already placed a bet at bodog with CC and the only problem, so far, was that they would not allow me to bet the 10% "bonus."  Therefore I have a whopping $5.00 balance to bet on something else.

Thanks apskip for that overview. I'm not one to turn down free money and am willing to bet a little, so if anyone figures out a good way to try this, please share! I'd like some TARcon $$$.... (It is legal, right?)

I placed my bet using the credit card option to make a "deposit" peach. There is some information that must be faxed to them to verify that you are the owner of the credit card used.

Thanks Big Papi!

Is it like horse racing? Can I bet on a "win, place, show"?
Title: Re: Betting Odds
Post by: apskip on February 14, 2007, 12:47:17 PM
It is legal and you can bet only on the winner. To create the almost-equivalent of Win/Place/Show you have to make 3 separate bets on teams to win. You can only win on one of them.

Can someone clear something up for me?

I deposited $50 and bet it on the team that is on the winner on the list sent to puddin (hopefully its right!! if not, I'm happy with the other two winners so it's all good).

Now it says I have $5 left, which I guess is the bonus they gave me when I registered.  Am I allowed to bet that $5 dollars on the same team again, even though I did the maximum bid of $50?  Is it against the rules to bet the $5 on a different team, thus having seperate bets on 2 teams?

thanks in advance, im stupid when it comes to these odds things...

I heard that they don't let you bet the bonus money.  Is that stupid or what?  Maybe I misunderstood.  Good Luck

Romber is the sucker bet.  Will lead the toteboard until they are eliminated in 8th place.  Then overwelming favorite will be Dee and Eric.  Rob was prolific when he says in the opening intros that they did not come back to finish in second place since we think they will end up 8th not 1st!

Why don't they just right them the check?

So I am not that good with the odds but checked it out and it looks like if you bet $1 you get .33 cents back on Eric & Dee  :snicker:

1/5  means I get back $1.00 for every $5.00 that I bet  :wohoo:  :jumpy: 10 Big Bucks for my 50 if they win. At what point do I have to send them more money for having bet $50.00 on Eric and Dee? Will they also keep my $5.00 bonus?

But aren't betting spoilers usually when an unexpected amount of people from a certain area place bets on a team? Like with U/J and F/K?

This is different because it's all coming from the list, and I know the list is probably real, and most people are probably betting on E/D because they saw them as the winners on this list that everybody is already 100% believing.

wow that made no sense LOL

What I mean is - from BEFORE the season even started we had that boot list, so people betting on E/D to win isn't unpredictable, but if you were to watch TAR7 you would never guess to bet on Uchenna and Joyce as the winners

I always have to be the odd member out and hope that the spoilers aren't true because the teams I love always come in 2nd (like rob and amber in TAR7) and supposedly the BQs this season :( It's not fair!

They were taken off?

Since I bet my money over 3 weeks ago on Eric/Danielle, if the odds don't come up back up, does that mean I don't win my money?

I'll be might pissed if that's the case, I bet $50 on them when they were at 4/1, so I'm expecting my $200  :jam:

From bodog FAQ:  I noticed that the odds changed after I placed my bet. Will this affect my payout?

The odds that are quoted at the time your bet is made and confirmed are the odds that will be used to settle your bet, regardless of any line changes after that time.

I will call them tomorrow to find out if they will honor bets already placed.
Title: Re: Betting Odds
Post by: Big Papi on March 10, 2007, 02:57:00 PM
I called bodog and they said that there is still "action" on bets already placed. The person I spoke to did not know when or if the betting odds would be reinstated. So those who have placed bets need not be concerned.
