"Dancing With the Stars" Cast Revealed!

TMZ has exclusively learned the names of several celebs set to do the cha cha cha on the new season of "Dancing With the Stars."
Country crooner Billy Ray Cyrus (that's "Hannah Montana's" dad for you tweeners), former "90210" star Ian Ziering and Muhammad Ali's daughter Laila Ali will join former *NSYNC member Joey Fatone in trying to wrestle Emmitt Smith's Season 3 crown.
Despite earlier reports, one star who will not be shaking her royal groove thang is the original Fergie, Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York. Fergie's fellow countrywomen, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, were set to join the cast but have since backed out.
A rep for "Dancing" had no comment, saying "We can't confirm any castings at this point."
"Dancing With the Stars" premieres March 19.

I heard Dancing with the Stars was going to go head to head with Idol. Is that true? I mean cause if they start in March AI will possibly into the top 12 live shows. I really don't think it can compete.

The fourth season of "Dancing with the Stars" could have a decidedly athletic feel.
The ABC series, which returns to the air Monday, March 19, will have three jocks competing this time around, more than have ever taken part before. Among those is also the show's first female athlete, boxer Laila Ali. Olympic short-track medalist Apolo Anton Ohno and basketball Hall of Famer Clyde "The Glide" Drexler are the others.
The 11 stars in this year's cast also include Heather Mills, the former wife of Beatle Paul McCartney and the first contestant to compete with an artificial limb. Her left leg was amputated below the knee in 1993 after she was badly injured in a traffic accident. She'll be partnered with Jonathan Roberts, who's back for his third turn on the show.
Among the other notable names are former "Beverly Hills, 90210" star Ian Ziering (partnered with two-time champ Cheryl Burke), supermodel Paulina Porizkova (with season one winner Alec Mazo), Miss USA 2004 Shandi Finnessey (dancing with newcomer Brian Fortuna) and ex-"Sopranos" star Vincent Pastore (dancing with Edyta Sliwinska).
Drexler, who at 6-foot-7 is likely the tallest "Dancing" contestant to date, will pair up with Elena Grinenko, who's hoping for a longer run than her one-and-done stint with Tucker Carlson last season. Ali will team up with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who danced with Willa Ford last season, and Ohno will work with Julianne Hough, who's making her first appearance on the series.
Rounding out the cast are "Achy Breaky Heart" singer/"Hannah Montana" star Billy Ray Cyrus (with Karina Smirnoff); former *NSync member and sometime Broadway actor Joey Fatone (with Kym Johnson); and talk-show host Leeza Gibbons (with Tony Dovolani).
Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris will take up hosting duties once again, and judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli will also be back.
"Dancing with the Stars" premieres at 8 p.m. ET Monday, March 19.

Eleven Celebrities, Comprising the Most Diverse Cast to Date, Were Announced on Good Morning America
In a Dancing with the Stars first, three athletes will dance to the finish in the fourth season of the hugely popular series, returning MONDAY, MARCH 19 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on ABC. Among the athletes are a current Olympic Gold Medalist, a member of the 1992 Men's U.S. Olympic Basketball Dream Team, and an undefeated female boxer - the first female athlete to compete on the series. Celebrities joining them include a singer/actor who stars alongside his daughter in one of the Disney Channel's most popular programs, a former member of one of the biggest selling music groups of all-time, and a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador and activist for Adopt-A-Minefield.
As announced on Good Morning America, the eleven stars making their ballroom dancing debut and their professional dance partners are:
LAILA ALI - Ali, an undefeated world champion female boxer and youngest daughter of sports legend, Muhammad Ali, takes her footwork to the ballroom dance floor on Dancing with the Stars. Outside the ring, Ali has graced countless international magazine covers, such as Glamour and Italian Vogue, and authored the inspirational autobiography, Reach! She joins MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY who returns for his third season.
BILLY RAY CYRUS - Singer/songwriter/actor and star of Disney Channel's hit series, Hannah Montana, Cyrus will partner with season three's finalist, KARINA SMIRNOFF, who returns for her second season. Cyrus first entered the public spotlight with his hit song Achy Breaky Heart. His other acting credits include the feature film, Mulholland Drive, and the starring role in the series, Doc.
CLYDE DREXLER - Named One of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History, Clyde the Glide was a member of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Dream Team. He began his career in 1983 with the Portland Trailblazers and retired in 1998 with the Houston Rockets, a team he led to the 1995 NBA Championship. ELENA GRINENKO, who returns for her second season, will be his partner.
JOEY FATONE - The musician/actor/star of Broadway was a member of one of the most popular singing groups of all-time, *NSYNC, which holds the records for the most albums sold in a single day and week. He has since starred in movies My Big Fat Greek Wedding and The Cooler, and the Broadway musicals, Rent and Little Shop of Horrors. Fatone joins partner KYM JOHNSON who returns for her second season.
SHANDI FINNESSEY - During the most watched Miss USAฎ competition in six years, Shandi Finnessey was crowned Miss USAฎ in 2004. She is the host of two game shows on the Game Show Network - Lingo with Chuck Woolery and Playmania. Newcomer BRIAN FORTUNA will be her professional dance partner.
LEEZA GIBBONS - Former host of Entertainment Tonight, Extra and her self-titled daytime talk-show, Leeza, the TV/radio personality currently hosts the nationally syndicated radio program, Hollywood Confidential. Leeza is also the founder of the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation, a nonprofit organization offering empowerment and education to caregivers and their loved ones diagnosed with any memory disorder. She teams up with TONY DOVOLANI who returns for his third season.
HEATHER MILLS - United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, activist for Adopt-A-Minefield and advocate for animal rights, Heather Mills will be the first contestant to compete with an artificial limb. She will be partnered with JONATHAN ROBERTS who returns for his third season.

VINCENT PASTORE - Known for his standout role in The Sopranos, actor Vincent Pastore has also appeared in several movies including Revolver, directed by Guy Ritchie, Gotti, and Goodfellas. He was also the voice of Luca in the animated feature Shark Tale. Pastore teams with EDYTA SLIWINSKA, the only professional dancer to participate in all four seasons.
PAULINA PORIZKOVA - As the former face of Estee Lauder, Porizkova was once the highest paid supermodel in the world of fashion. She was featured on the cover of several magazines including the Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Issue for two consecutive years. This Spring, Porizkova releases her first work of fiction, A Model Summer. Season one champ ALEC MAZO returns for his second appearance.

Dancing with the Stars' fourth season will premiere Monday, March 19 with a two-hour premiere (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET). To offer viewers two weeks to see the performers in action before the first elimination, the first results show will air on Week Two. The second performance show, airing Monday, March 26, will also be two hours in length (8:00-10:00 p.m.), and the first results show will air Tuesday, March 27 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET).
Hosted by Tom Bergeron (America's Funniest Home Videos) and Samantha Harris (E! Entertainment), the celebrities will perform choreographed dance routines which will be judged by renowned Ballroom Judge Len Goodman, and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.
Dancing with the Stars is the U.S. version of the international smash hit series, Strictly Come Dancing. This version is produced in America by BBC Worldwide. Conrad Green and Richard Hopkins are executive producers and Izzie Pick is co-executive producer. Rob Wade and Matilda Zoltowski are supervising producers. Alex Rudzinski directs. Dancing with the Stars is broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1 channel surround sound and Spanish audio via SAP. This program carries a TV-PG parental guideline.

Okay i do not watch the show much.... but I would have to root for home town boy Clyde!!! However aI am a little worried, he is older then most. Might get title of tallest and oldest. BUT keep in mind he had to have some moves to become the "THE GLYDE"
I can not believe some of you do not know who hannah montana is!! SHe is the next Lizzie mCguire (hillary Duff). She is comign to rodeo here in Houston (with cheetah girls) and they are the fastest sell out in rodeo history. Tickets are going for crazy prices on ebay. Luckily I got tickets for me and some friend so I am cool mom! Yes Billy ray is the dad on the show and Hannah is actually Miley Cyrus his daughter in real life. It is a cute show.

Rigors of training whack ex-'Sopranos' star
"Dancing with the Stars" doesn't premiere until nearly three weeks from now, but the show has already lost one of its competitors.
Former "Sopranos" star Vincent Pastore has dropped out of the ABC show following a week of training. The 60-year-old actor cites the physical rigors of the 10-week competition as his primary reason.
"When I initially committed to joining 'Dancing with the Stars,' I didn't realize just how physically demanding it would be for me," says Pastore, who played mobster "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero on "The Sopranos." "Unable to put forth my best effort, I felt it appropriate to step aside and give someone else the opportunity."
Pastore had been slated to dance with Edyta Sliwinksa on the fourth edition of the show, which debuts Monday, March 19. An ABC spokesperson says the show will announce a replacement for Pastore in the coming days.
Executive producer Conrad Green says he's sorry to see Pastore go but "respect his decision."
"We appreciate him standing aside now rather than having to withdraw later," Green says. "'Dancing with the Stars' is physically demanding, and it pays to know your limits."

Forgot to say I'll probably be rooting for Billy Ray, unless he does a purdy lousy job of dancing. The only other two contestants I've heard of are Leeza Gibbons and Joey Fatone.
I just hope DWTS isn't gonna conflict w/ my Tues/Wed shows!!

That is a good question, Mandy. I have no idea. Jimmy Kimmel talked with Leeza Gibbonson his talk show the night the cast was relvealed, and he said he'd do the show. I'd love to see him on it, his late night show rocks!
This reminds me of Season 2, when Lil Romeo dropped out before the show aired, and Master P took over. We all know what happened next. Lets hope this person isn't another Master P.
I'm in the middle of writing an article (that will be posted on the home page) revealing who the cast is. But, since the "Big Pussy" lived up to his name, I'm going to have to put it on hold until the replacement is revealed.

If Pastore's replacement really is the Master P of the fourth season, I'd like him kicked to the curb as early as possible. It took the fans long enough to send the original thing packing (come on -- the judges give him an 8 for a Paso Doble?), and I'd be skeptical to see when the backup goes if he tries to be any worse than P was.

JOHN RATZENBERGER - Following Vincent Pastore's withdrawal, Ratzenberger has nobly stepped in to take his place. Show producers had previously extended an invitation to him to participate this season, but a scheduling conflict prevented him from accepting until now. He takes on the added challenge of having less time to train than his fellow competitors before the series premieres - two weeks versus four. Ratzenberger's most prominent recent work has been as host and producer of John Ratzenberger's Made in America, and as author of the new book, We've Got It Made in America: A Common Man's Salute to An Uncommon Country. The beloved actor starred in the classic television series Cheers and in ABC's 8 Simple Rules. He is also the only actor to have voiced a role in all of Pixar's feature films, including Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars and the upcoming Ratatouille. EDYTA SLIWINSKA, the only professional dancer to participate in all four seasons, will be his partner.

okay I only saw the last half of the dancers... Who is watching and who are you voting for? I used most of my internet votes for Clyde. he looked so nervous.
But Joey did really well I think. Was Billy Ray that bad that he has such a low score.

Personally, I found Joey, Laila, Shandi and John to be my favorites. Joey did the best, imo. He gave so much energy and fun to the show. This season looks like it'll be better than last season. Poor Billy Ray, he didn't diserve such a low score, but it was weak.

Speaking of elimination, who will be the first to go? I have a feeling in my gut it will be between Billy Ray Cyrus and Heather Mills. It's a toss up between which one did America not like. Although, anything can happen. We do have another show.

I think even though the judges said they would not they socred heather Higher then she deserved. I have heard Billy Ray's was bad ~ if you know where it is you tubed let me know I want to see it. Heather did not give that fun warm feeling others did. I think Billy ray has a bigger fan base then heather mills so I woudl guess Heaterh between those two.
I voted for Clyde, Billy ray, Apollo, Ian and joey. Multiple to Clyde. Hometown and all, but I also think once he relaxes he will do better.

I don't enjoy watching the women because in latin dancing its mostly about them...and if they can't dance that well its not interesting....the men lead the woman on the stage, the women is what is mostly watched.

I didn't see her panties CJ, but I did record the episode, so I'll have to go back and watch it. Her dress looked horrible, and her leg stayed on.
I haven't voted yet, but I know I'm going to vote for Joey and John. I just don't know who else. I think John didn't do too well, but over time he'll be better. America needs to cut him some slack, he only had two weeks of training. The others had four.

i think the big shocker of the night was heather mills and her back walkover. she's not a bad dancer...too bad she's a complete moron....the charity wont win her that much sympathy for squeezing paul dry!

BillyRay did well sadly he still has the lowest scores, I am afraid he will go home. But he may have more fan votes then Leeza. Clyde still seems so nervous why did they put him with one of the shortest dancers. He will get the sports votes. i think If billy ray can stay he will get better but not sure fans will give him the chance.
I watched on tape so I voted same as last week since votign was almost over when I got home. yeha that is bad but you know alot of votes are based on fans not dancing.
I think Heather knew she would be going hoem without the judges votes. I still think she got a higher score then earned last week.

Mills did excellent. I loved watching her dance. On the contrary, if Mills wasn't so unpopular with the public, she'd have a shot at the title. Not to say she'll make it far, I just think that she's quite talented in dancing. Over time, she could improve and make the top 5 (or so). Although, I predict she'll be leaving tonight.

Everyone who voted for him are probably obsessed with his daughter. (And if they're not old enough to vote, then they enrolled their parents to help them out for them.) And because Hannah Montana is popular with the tween crowd, I don't think he's leaving anytime soon.
From what I've read on the DWTS board on ABC.com, I think either Heather or Shandi's getting the boot. (I'd prefer Heather more than Shandi leaving, though.) My personal top favorite is actually Joey Fatone with Apolo Anton Ohno as a close second.

I was shocked at who went home last night!!! But then agian I did nto knwo who paulina was so I am sure that hurt her in the fan voting.
Shandi looked surprised to be at the bottom. And Billy Ray really looked surprised to be going to next week. I think billy Ray will also get the country fans. May not be Kenny, George or Tim but he is still family. Just like clyde with the sports fans.
Will be interesting to see how the couples progress.

No one cares about Models or Miss America....they don't have a large enough fan base...Paulina was a better dancer than Shandi...Shandi has the flexibility the looks but not the Rhythm!!!

John is getting 25+++ votes (he'll be more popular than jerry I think)

Have to admit I voted for Ian because of 90210, but he looks happy out there like he is havign fun. Single night of voting and judges scores will make a difference next week. the recap of the dances was too long for me.... I fast forwared it since ti was on DVR. Is it alwasy 2 hours?

I still can't believe she's wasn't in the bottom two! I bet the producers saw that she had enough votes to escape the bottom two, and they purposely revealed her to be the first moving on next week. That's what I think happened. :whoop:
She was on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, I recorded it, but I haven't seen it yet. I think I'll watch it tonight after Survivor.

I'm not sure who else I like b/c I haven't watched all of my tape yet. Just know I definitely do not like Heather'sPaulina's dancing , or the way she constantly blinked her eyes. Made me nervous watching her.

Oh no it does not look good for Clyde! Who are your picks for bottom 2 tonight? Who did you vote for? Not alot of the dances really impressed me. I think ian did a good job. Funny how they all do these big chorographed dances adn Leeza's was simple and she is at the top. Laila was not happy with her scores, you could tell.

I forgot all about voting until 10 minutes ago when a friend at lunch reminded me. Thankfully, I got my votes in. I voted mostly for John, but I gave a few to Joey, Laila, and Shandi.
I agree with you, Texan. This week, the scores weren't up to par. I was expecting an improvement, but none of the dances really stuck out for me as the best. Heck, it was a four-way tie for first place!

I'm thinking that is a popularity thing again, so Shandi might be in the bottom two for the second week in a row. Clyde might join her as well, depending on how many people stood by him with the sucky Jive he performed.
Just saw Joey and Kym's Tango to Star Wars. That was a good performance. :)
Also looking forward to the Paso Doble performance by the professionals to Eye of the Tiger. (It doesn't take a genius to tell you that some of the celebrities are going to be doing that next week...)

Billy Ray and the Latin dances do NOT go together. He can't dance worth his life when he has to perform them.
Apolo and Julianne with the first perfect score of the competition... It took us five weeks to get a 30 from the judges, but we finally accomplished that he is one of the frontrunners for this half of the game.

It was a relief to see a perfect score. Finally.
Who will leave tonight? Personally, I think it's Clyde's time to go. Each week, he's put forth not much effort into the dances. Notice a declining total score each week. I don't think he's broken the 20 spot yet, while everyone else has. He's the weakest link, and I wish he's sent home. I know Houston loves him, and that to vote for him is a hometown thing, but I think it's time to put this puppy out of his misery.

Glad Clyde is out. He was a bad dancer...the worst one as Judge Carrie Ann said. But he's a nice, honorable guy and I really liked his closing statements. Stick to BBall and Good Luck with your life, Clyde! :yess:

I agre I think :Billy ray could do better. Not sure his heart is all in it. lots on his place. He looked shocked last week that he was not leaving. But then again I think part of his not having fun is his dance partner...she seems like a B!!!!

Well i was disappointed with Billy Ray. He did nto try with the one dance. I think if he would have had a better first dance then he would last another week. But I think he will be gone this week. I think he wants to be gone. i do not think he realized how hard it was going to be and maybe thought he would be gone already. I did not vote for him this week.
I voted for Ian. I think he is really trying and not having a dance back ground he is doing well. I expect Joey to dance well that is what NYSC did. I am really impressed with Apollo and Liala, they have good work ethics in athletes but they are really stepping up their dancing.
John it really trying but if he is not out this week he will be next week as I think the other stars will out shine him. He has done well and for his age I am really impressed!

I did not watch the show... but know who was voted off.... And I have to say, I like Billy Ray, but not as a dancer in this competition. And if people were real fans they would see he is READY to go home. He has been sayign for weeks how busy he was and even said Monday he wanted his partner to have a good dance before he left.
I will be focusing my votes on Ian to help him stay in next week, I think he is trying the hardest. still not sure who I think showuld be ther final 2.

I've been getting the same feeling about Billy Ray, that he wants to go home. He seems to be dragging his feet (no pun!), like it's all a major chore. He isn't putting his heart & soul into it.
My votes are no longer going for Billy...but Apolo and/or Laila. They are the two best dancers. Ian isn't my fav, but I give him credit for trying hard.
Sorry John got voted out, but it was time. He tried hard, but geee, older folks just learning, with very little dance or no experience can't do those wild & fast dances! :groan:

Well, I have to say, Billy Ray went out with a class act. He was humble and thanked his partner and wanted her in the spotlight. And when they did the stroll down memeory lane (have they done this for anyone else?) and she was crying in the bathroom he hugged her and looked upset. Them hugging through the whole rest of the stroll gave her props! I think she formed a different opinion once she realized he was not going to be a great dancer. Glad to hear the comment about being friends ~ not sure they will stay friends but ti was a nice comment. He may nto ahve been a great dancer but his fans kept her on the show until week 8!
I thought it was great to hear them all talk about each other being friends. But have to say Laila's honesty of I am glad soemone else is leaving, it means I am still here for the trophy made me laugh.
Not sure who I think will be the final 2. I have not watched this before I assume it comes down to 2. I think Apollo will be in the finals, but not sure who he will go against. Joey? Laila? or Ian?
Ian I think is a long shot, but he may have the fan support. Ian tries but is a littel too serious.
Apollo, love him or hate him as a skater he really is stepping up each week and making a run for the thropy.
Laila she has the cocky confidence and the pretty smile. She does work at the dances but will everyone keep her around. Her comment to her partner when he was excited about continueing was VERY COCKY!!! Why are you acting surprised? or soemthign to those word like DUH of course we are staying. I think that is bold and may hurt her with some fans
Joey, well he has the fun and excitement in all his dances. he is enjoying the competition. Not sure if people are expecting more since he was in a boy band known for dancing or if people just assumed he was safe and did not vote for him. I was not sure who would be in the bottom 2 with Billy Ray but was kind of surprised it was Joey.
Next week will be interesting. Will Ian finnaly impress the judeges? IS he really doing that bad or the judges harder on him because Cheryl has won 2 times? She is very stoned face with the judges. Who will get a perfect score?

For some reason, I knew it too. My pre-show pick was Joey, but once the show started, I just knew Apolo would win. This was an awesome season!

I was very pleased for Apolo winning but I would have been happy if Joey won as well. I only started watching the last couple of weeks and have thoroughly enjoyed the dancing. I wouldn't mind learning some steps, it would definitley making me more fit. I think Joey mentioned that he has lost some weight. But the dancing was awesome.

Apollo did a great job. Joey I think even though was a dancers with boy band has done really well too. Laila did well, but still seemed to hold back. Here free dance was nice but not WOW like the others.
They all worked hard for the disco ball.

He had the technique down the best...sure-footed and smooth. Joey's technique improved, but his showmanship and charisma stood out the most. Laila needed more confidence, but still did great.
I was hoping a woman would win this year! It's more challenging for a gal to win b/c she has to strut her stuff to help make her instructor/partner look even greater than he is, even though he's leading. In most cases, it's harder to follow than to lead if you're the amateur. Laila did a super job though...lots better than the other female contestants!
Kudos to all three! :jumpy:
