and captures a video (http://s68.photobucket.com/albums/i25/izabela74/) of at least 2 of the teams performing a roadblock with crew in tow~
My husband and I witnessed a Roadblock on June 12 while we were holidaying in Mauritius.
..the couples started showing up between 10-11am - the first two were very close to each other.
The detour involved kayaking out into the ocean. Not sure what they did out there but they were gone for about 1/2 an hour on average.
From memory the first team to arrive was all female, (http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b105/rawalsh/TAR9_Promo2/tar10/?action=view¤t=0016.jpg) the 2nd a guy and girl (http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b105/rawalsh/TAR9_Promo2/tar10/?action=view¤t=0018.jpg) - all quite young. They completed the task in that order but the leading team got about 5 minutes in between them.
We counted 5 teams in total.
The black female team (http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b105/rawalsh/TAR9_Promo2/tar10/?action=view¤t=0008.jpg) were in the top five but unfortunately last.
We saw the Asian guy (http://s18.photobucket.com/albums/b105/rawalsh/TAR9_Promo2/tar10/?action=view¤t=0009.jpg) but he was off on the side drinking water and cooling down so we cannot actually remember if we saw him with his partner.
The black woman who did the kayak was a bit overweight and I'd guess not the fittest - she nearly died after that one!
One final point - there were 6 kayaks on the beach - perhaps a FF meant someone avoided this task?

The black woman who did the kayaking was absolutely exhausted after the kayak ride and fell on her butt after getting out of it.
I should clarify the above point. She really look p*ssed off and the pair of them weren't in much of a hurry - but we noticed that couples were held up for a couple of minutes and given water before running off to continue the race

Team 4: m/f asian male and geeky female (http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php?topic=9262.0) but not 100% sure as they were not sitting together and by geeky i mean she reminded me of lori in her stance/appearance and not playing up the the cameras as the first 3 teams. She sat on the sun bed under a tree and just waited quietly on spoke to the black female for a short time.
Team 5: f/f black (http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php?topic=9256.0) - personally it looked like they did not want to be there in terms of all the other teams looking so competitive.

Don't forget only the male is asian in that team and the female is what I call my token "Lori".
I would give them a good 20 mins after the 3rd team which was the young m/m team.
The young m/m team arrived 10-15 mins after the leading couples. This 3rd team seemed to catch up some time with this roadblock but still left 3rd.

No the teams were too busy to talk to LOL
No we dont know where they went next all we heard was "pit stop" but could not make out where due to the helicopter noise above (which I think you can hear through the whole video).

I found this diving map (http://www.fptech.co.uk/diving/maps/map-mauritius-north-grand-baie.php) that shows the approximate location of Merville in relation to Grand Baie. And this official map (http://www.gov.mu/portal/goc/file/Mauritius_web.pdf) (pdf; 3.6 mb) shows the whole island in detail (use the zoom in your pdf reader); Grand Bassin looks like it's the dead end of the "tea trail" road through Grand Bois and Bois Cheri.

You gotta wonder about the fender bender. I'm sure they hit something, but there may have been some staging after the fact. Looking at it frame-by-frame, it looks like the cameraman used a rapid zoom and a sideways movement to make it look like the two collided. The first cap show the relatively undamaged bus, the second shows a curious bus rider.
The obvious question: how did the cameraman happen to be outside the car filming when the accident happened? It reminds me of the semi-staging of Mirna's little bender in Bariloche.

The Mauritians like to dress up their traffic circles. Here's one (kmz attached) shaped like a compass. The roundabout in the promo cap may be possible to find; half of GE Mauritius is high-res, half is fuzzy.

No luck on the roundabouts so far... (São Paulo helipads?)
A vast majority of the roundabouts (especially the decorated ones) run in a string down the main highway though, from Grand Baie through Port Louis into the fuzzylands. My guess is that the one we're looking for is along the same highway, on the way to Plaisance Airport (southeast corner of the island).
I don't see anything on the less developed eastern flank... Too little traffic to warrant traffic circles, much less pretty yin-yang or rocket-shaped ones!

One reason why Mauritius is a pleasant place 2 live is that we r a multi-racial country and an Indian wedding in Mauritius is sure not something to miss as it gives the opportunity to explore various aspects of pure Mauritian life... firstly, there are those old women singing in Bhojpuri, all the pickle-making processes and the endless bickering about how things should be done.

Per the TWoP Timeline (http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showtopic=2766846&st=1605&gopid=6377415&#entry6377415), teams ended the leg in the afternoon of the 9th.
If teams enjoy an extended Pit Stop and depart on th emorning of the 11th, that could give us the arrival date on the 12th. Wow, these teams are getting it easy!

Thanks Puddin. I think we have good stuff going here too you know! :tup: This is where I find out what is going to happen. TWoP is where I find out what did happen. It's not really so black and white but you know what I mean.
Another way to fill the time is having the teams do something in Kuwait before heading out to Mauritius. They really should go to that Dhow. I know I would want to go there. And wasn't there one more team (Cho's ?) shown doing a leasurely confessional at the rudder of the Dhow?
Also, the Roadblock in Mauritius is at the Pit Stop location so that is the end of the leg. I suspect they arrived in Mauritius the day before because they have other tasks to to complete before the Roadblock.

My tv guide hardcopy 10-23 to 10-29 :
Several of this seasons contenders look like they can go the distance,but who knows if leg 7 of the race will be lucky (i.e. ,a non-elimination ) for the tardiest team of the night .( This show contains the info you'll need to crack one of the challenges on Gold Rush)
Does anyone follow Goldrush? Under Karlyn's right arm shes carrying something round?( so it appears) and maybe gold , is the GoldRush clue that big?
and in the other hand maybe she has the yellow clue envelope. Maybe they have to find /collect objects on islands?

This company, Boodai Aviation (http://www.boodaiaviation.com/Our_Company.html), that we see teams getting tickets at is not a real airline on it's own. They do tours and tickets for other airlines. They are not one of the listed carriers out of Kuwait Airport.
So I'm thinking they will be providing spoon-fed flights for the teams. Maybe just a local hop or maybe all the way to Mauritius.

Kandice is the taller one; she is seen getting into the boat. What's interesting about the video is that all team members are geared up, which wouldn't be necessary if one team member was sitting it out; maybe it was more convenient for the hotel/production that way.

The run-of-the-mill flight search gets you from Kuwait to Mauritius on Kuwait Airways flight 675 leaving at 10:10 pm and arriving at 9:25 am on Sunday the 11th.
Working the airport a little will get you on Olympic Airlines flight 346 to Paris (connection in Athens) leaving at 3:40 am (not all teams could make this flight) and arriving at 12:05 pm. Then you take Air France flight 996 leaving at 3:55 pm and arriving in Mauritius at 5:00 am on Sunday the 11th.

Izabela : witnessed a Roadblock on June 12 at the Merville Beach Hotel,Grand Baie.
1) Barbies complete the Roadblock first.
2) Rob and Kim second,5 minutes after the Barbies.
3) Tyler & James arrived 10-15 mins after the leading couples.This 3rd team seemed to catch up some time with this roadblock but still left 3rd.
We counted 5 couples come and go within about an hour
4)The Chos, 20 mins after the 3rd team.
5 or 6)The Lyns were in the top five but last.

Oh, now I see! (That's why I'm a newbie and not a detective...heee!)
So the kayaks are the roadblock, probably done soon after they arrive. And whatever they are doing with these boats is a detour. And there may be another detour involving pickles? (unless that is a totally red-herring pickle comment?) Pickles and chutney do seem to be a popular export. That area seems to offer a lot of choice for a cool detour: boating, para-sailing, diving/snorkeling--even a "walk-on-the-bottom-of the sea in a divers suit" a la Rebecca/Adam...
Where does Chateau de Reduit come in? Is that the pit stop?
And I've always wondered...could Izabela's geeky Lori really have been Erwin?

She had previously agreed to do the eating tasks and David Jr. to do the physical ones. Mary ate the fish eyes even though she absolutely can't stand fish. Working the airport a little will get you on Olympic Airlines flight 346 to Paris (connection in Athens) leaving at 3:40 am (not all teams could make this flight) and arriving at 12:05 pm. Then you take Air France flight 996 leaving at 3:55 pm and arriving in Mauritius at 5:00 am on Sunday the 11th.

Is it a screen capture utility you're looking for, Georgia? Snagit (http://www.techsmith.com/snagit.asp) is a popular paid program, and Capture (http://faststone.org/FSCaptureDetail.htm) from Faststone is a decent free program; both can grab what you see and do simple editing tasks.

I already have Photo Shop and Paint Pro on my computer--can I do it with what I have? I understand how to copy/paste words--can I do that with pictures too? What do I save the picture as--just a file or some special picture thingy? Sorry, this probably isn't the place to find all this out but I'd like to contribute more than my limited computer skills are allowing...

If it's the whole image you want, just right-click the image and choose "save picture as.." The programs you mentioned should have a resize function somewhere in the menu bar. The maximum size for attachments is 256kb, but most photos can be downsized to 50kb or less without losing too much detail.

Georgiapeach, I was looking at your flights and I think you've got return flights going back to Kuwait.
For example, KU 676 is a flight from Dubai to Kuwait that arrives in Kuwait at 8:00 am.
I have not had any luck with the "8:oo flight" line. Departure or arrival.

Went back and the arrival times were listed as 9:25 +1 so guess that isn't it. Where else could they fly through?

I had trouble the last time I linked to the KWI site, so I used Flightstats (http://www.flightstats.com/go/Home/home.do) instead. There's no archive function, only a three-day window for searching; I used Sunday and came up with only two 8:10 flights to London.

I tried this site (http://www.airlineroutemaps.com/) and then tried various combos of flights via Dubai,Delhi, Bombay,Nairobi.and Jo-berg on various airlines on to MRU. I had no luck with any Flights leaving or arriving exactly at 8. Maybe she said 8 in reference to an 8-ish flight? Got lots of those... Even checked all of Kuwait Air's flights out for one whole day and...nothing.

Ok so here's how I think the teams will place tonight:
1.Dustin/Kandice( :yess:)
2.Rob/Kimberly
3.Tyler/James
4.Erwin/Godwin
5.Lyn/Karlyn
6.David/Mary

Well teh only poblem I see with the list is if Rob and Kim are the ones with Car problems and we do know the D/K do gget in a car accident.
Unless this happens very early in the leg (such as the beginning before any detour or Roadblock) they will be stuck for a while.
D/K if they are forced to follow the rules of the country (if its in that country, a not still in Kuwait). Must stop even if the car is still drivable and wait for police. If its not drvable they ahve to wait as well for replacement vehicle. And going off of previous seasons that can take anywhere between 30 minutes to a hour and a half.
Same for Rob and Kim if they have to get a replacement vehicle.
If these happen I can't see this teams coming in 1st and 2cd with the tasks (that we have seen) being done so close to each otehr, unless they happen before the tasks.

Here is a challenge - at www.aol.com/goldrush (the Gold Rush game being advertised on CBS) the million dollar round challenge #8 question is about a location on tonight's episode of AR- can you find the location? I've looked everywhere I know for the answer with no luck. If you find it please post the answer here or PM me. There is no $$$ for this round until challenge #11 but not being able to find the answer is driving me nuts (short trip)!!!

The Gold Rush site has a map posted with an X on it that is supposed to be where one of the teams gets lost. Do we have any info about a team getting lost? Thank you banzai, I would have posted the map but didn't know how.

Nope. Several a couple of episodes have had roadblocks edited out. THe most famous one is the very first leg of the very first season when in Sangway village before checking they have to eat a Ostrich egg.
And I don't think this leg was edited due to being spoiled.
I think it was edited to make room for all the conflict between the players.
Thats what makes more sense.

It makes me curious: was that the only task cut out? We saw a few shots of Grand Bassin at the beginning of the show, but no more. And nothing about a waterfall (if Chamarel was it; we may have to keep looking).

Their leaving on June 11th allowed teams to get bunched. The Athens flight that left at 3:45 am on the 10th is not offered on the 11th.
It they had a regular Pit Stop then Mary & David would have kept their lead.

In the map (http://www.gov.mu/portal/goc/file/Mauritius_web.pdf) I mentioned earlier, you can see many of the southwest tasks were close together: the "pirate island" (Ile Aux Benitiers (http://www.pbase.com/bolla49/image/36339246)), Case Noyale, and the salt flats (I couldn't find the particular one, there are too many to choose from and I didn't see any place signs). The Chateau Bel Ombre (http://www.letelfair.com/Chateau-bel-ombre.html) seems to be distinct from the village of Bel Ombre. It describes itself on the website as "...amidst elegant hundred years old French gardens at the edge of the golf course and at the foot of mountain." The only place I could find that matches that description is a golf course at the bottom of Morne Brabant (kmz attached).

Regarding the Gold Rush challenge, Rob/Kimberly headed off to the Rusty Shack instead, on the opposite shore of the island.

FWIW, this pic of D/K opening the roadblock clue is clearly the exact same spot where Izabela shot her video (http://s68.photobucket.com/albums/i25/izabela74/?action=view¤t=top2wmv.flv). You can see the identical boats in the background in the video.
Must have been within walking/VERY short driving distance from the Isla Mauritia ship, as their hair is still soaking from the swimming task, and I believe they are wearing the same life jackets from the swimming task. The short distance would explain why the order of teams was not affected at all by the roadblack and made for an easy "edit-out."
The kayak task also makes more sense of Godwin's comment about "having enough of the sea" when the six-pack is making their Salt/Sea detour decision. They would have already done a swimming AND kayaking task.
