Fantasy Survivor Rules
General Rules
1) The decisions of the webmaster on all Fantasy Survivor questions are final. There will be a few subjective Fantasy Survivor questions during the season, and we promise to do our best to score them as fairly as possible.
2) When the answer to a Fantasy Survivor question is in doubt or there are multiple correct answers, the most correct answer will be selected at the discretion of the Fantasy Survivor webmaster. If no answer is correct, then the question will be thrown out and no player will score any points.
3) The answers of the Fantasy Survivor Episode questions will be decided based on the events of the show aired during that Survivor episode. If in a later Survivor episode the answer of a previousFantasy Survivor question has been shown to be incorrect or is in doubt. The answer that appears to be most correct during the original Survivor episode will stand.
4) Only events during the airing of Survivor count toward the Fantasy Survivor question in this game. Information revealed or shown during Survivor commercials, Survivor promos, Survivor lead-ins at the beginning of the Survivor episode, including the part where they refer to the previous Survivor episodes (usually begins with "Previously on Survivor..."), promos of future Survivor episodes (usually begins with "Next on Survivor") do not count toward Fantasy Survivor.
5) For questions regarding the counting of events or actions, unless otherwise specified, each independent and observable occurrence of the activity will be counted irregardless of the number of times the camera shows the event or activity. For an event to count multiple times we must observe and or have reasonable reason to believe the original activity was discontinued and then resumed. For example, if a Survivor is shown cooking, and we cut to commercial and the cut back to the cooking, that is considered one activity. If however, the second time the Survivor is shown cooking it is obvious that its the next day, or a completely different meal, that second scene is considered a second occurrence.
6) On the occasion where two (essentially) simultaneous tribal councils are held where a portion of the Survivors attend one tribal council, and the others attend a second tribal council with no overlap in attendees, the two events will be considered one large tribal council for the counting questions when regarding immunity. The Survivor must not be eligiblle to receive a vote at both tribal councils to be considered immune.
7) Only regularly scheduled episodes of Survivor that have a scheduled tribal council and/or new events that are part of the Survivor game will count toward Fantasy Survivor. This will exclude Survivor episodes that are predominantly highlight or recap from previous Survivor episodes. Also the Survivor Reunion show that airs after the finale following the revelation of the ultimate Survivor will not count toward this Fantasy Survivor game.
8 ) Bonus points will be awarded for picks submitted more than 12 hours in advance of the Survivor episode start time. The bonus will be applied to points scored for the episode questions. The bonus will increment 2.5% for every extra 3 hours in advance of the pick deadline the Fantasy Survivor submissions are recorded. This bonus will never exceed 50%. Fractional points will be rounded down. The last submission of picks by the player, regardless of the number of changes, for each Survivor episode will establish the time used to calculate their bonus.
9) We strongly encourage everyone to signup for the Fantasy Survivor email notification that is sent when we post new Fantasy Survivor questions so you can get in on the bonus points. Due to the nature of the internet and email delivery, email notifications from the game to your mailbox may be delayed or undelivered. It is the Fantasy Survivor players responsibility to ensure timely submission of Fantasy Survivor picks for the game regardless of the time of the reception of the Fantasy Survivor game notifications.
10) If the producers of Survivor manipulate the show in a way not expected or compatible by the game design, the Fantasy Survivor webmasters will make a best effort to score all relevant question and adjust the Fantasy Survivor scores or part of the game affected by the show "twists." In some cases entire disqualification of sections of the Fantasy Survivor game may be required.

i usually bite the first week until i get a feel for the new suvivors. :groan: but here's what i picked fwiw:

Some other time <---picked this one since it might be as they are lined up on the beach for the first challenge and get their buffs. i don't recall seeing them in buffs before they are tossed overboard. plus covers other option. when in doubt, go for the most coverage.

Two journalists got the chance to see how the contestants are dealing with the situation. Dalton Ross of Entertainment Weekly and Alexis Chiu of People magazine were there the night the 20 contestants, divided into four teams of whites, blacks, Asians and Hispanics, were first told about how they were being split.
The contestants were given the news individually the night before the game began. Chiu said that they did not have much time to process the information, and right away they began working on their shelters and strategies. Chiu said she thinks the race theme will make the show more interesting.

Man, I usually suck at thse fantasy games. I do NOT want to look at the vidcaps and try to decipher who is doing what when, etc. I think I'll skip the FantasySurvivor game, even though I signed up. I find I can relax and just enjoy watching the show better if I don't have an agenda. It's like...we may choose 4 players for the points we think they will earn, yet we may be actually rooting for other contestants because we just like them, or their game-playing, better. :'(

holy wow batman! i got all the questions right. wimped out on the picking survivors by just picking four new-raro to come in first in a challenge for 40 points each. but got a decent bonus for not changing. wasn't sure who to pick for the boot or exile and i would have been wrong on both.
thanks to all the spoilers here for the great info that helps me make picks!

Okay some one explain the scoring on this game. I knew I missed some questions but teh survivor scoring varies from person to person.
Lookign at the tribe i looked at answers and players for thsoe that got high scores ~ wanted to see what they chose to make a greta score.
One person had answers that were 40 , 40 , 40 , 20 and the score was 260. How is that possible. Is there something else I should be doing?
Do nto get me wrong it hink it it great that they can get a high score like that but the points do not add up so i was wondering if there was something else or some where else I should be making picks.

Texan, no score of 260 appears on the score roster, but I did check everyone's scores to make sure they all added up. I did each one twice, just to make doubly sure. All the scores are correct to the best of my knowledge.

Ok all math wizards on Tribe Refaforu!! (or any RFF member(s)!) How many total points does Refaforu need to get way ahead of the current #1 team in order to take the NUMBER ONE SLOT NEXT WEEK & every week to the season's end?? They are currently leading us by 145 points.
Between the 13 of us, we earned a total of 3860 pts for Ep 5, which = an average individual score of 296.9. Wow! Nearly 300 pts! If we could increase that average to 400 and if the current top tribe continues their trend, it seems to me we would pass them up. But I'm not sure if my reasoning is right!! Any math wizards here??

Hi Rudy, I just finished checking our scores and it seems we've had a new member join the team. There are now 14 of us and the newest has a -0- for a total score so our averages will drop considerably. I haven't crunched the numbers but I expect it to drop us at least 2-3 spots. The best way to raise our average quickly is to get the new person to leave our team (sorry, nothing personal) and 1-2 of the bottom scorers if they aren't going to make their picks every week (again, nothing personal). Okay I just crunched some of the numbers - If our team were made up of only the 10 people that had made their picks every week our average would be 1212. About 50 points behind #1. As it stands, with 14 members, we are now averaging 1037.8 barely holding on to 4th place. To increase our scores quickly we need to get a few people to infiltrate Team Greatness :yess: and bring their scores down by not making picks!!! (just kidding BTW) Then we need to make sure we always get the team question "who's going home" worth (100 pts.) correct. This week 2 people are going home so we possibly have the chance to get 200 points on this caregory alone. I think I read somewhere in our spoilers that somebody at one of the sites hadn't missed the boot pick this season so maybe we can use their knowledge. Dropping the weakest links, making picks every week and getting the boot pick correct every week should help our scores and our average considerably.

Now, speculation from what I've seen in the promos:
Yul&Jonathan and Brad&Adam run out to attack Nate and Ozzy or Sundra, respectively. Both sets of Attackers eventually succeed in dragging their prey back to their base. Becky&Jessica and Parvati&Rebecca then attack Cristina and Candice, respectively. Becky&Jessica succeed, then Yul&Jonathan go back out to attack Jenny. There is no footage of Sundra and Ozzy wrestling, so I speculate that whichever one is left doesn't get the chance, for Yul&Jonathan drag Jenny back before Parvati&Rebecca are finished with Candice. Aitu wins.

Actually I think he ,Yul will get a vote or 2 based on the Voodoo plan .
Maybe you could rack up more points for tackiling ?
For instance say Yul attacks 2 times , thats 45 points or just be safe and have say Yul wins a challenge being as the boards are picking them to win the RC? or theres always that possability Yul uses the HII ? thats how Cao Boi gets voted off ? But I wouldn't bet on it .

Ok, Pretender has not responded to my Oct 16 email. I went to the Triton site she has in her RFF profile & joined it so I could PM her, which I did. In essence, I asked her to either make picks or leave the tribe. (in a nice way). I offered help w/ her picks if she needs help. I told her where to go to leave the tribe, if she chooses to do that.
I also wrote to FantasySurvivor last nite and got the following replies from Artie:
"Hello,
Idle players are automatically removed by the system after a few weeks. Also, players whom have made no picks do not count towards the team averages as can be seen on the tribe standings page."
2nd Reply:
"Just to clarify, players are not included in the team average if they have never made any selections at any point in the game. It is possible for a player to have zero points and to be included in the average, but this requires that player to have made picks at least one in the game and received 0 points as a result of those picks.

That's the scoop for now. I hope to hear from Pretender soon. If she doesn't get my message before the game deadline, then there may or may not be a zero for this week. I don't know how many zeros it takes for the system to automatically remove an idle player.

Re: the votes, the only way I'd go that route is if I knew for sure the bootee would receive MORE than 5 votes. See, what if they got only 4 votes? That would = 80 pts as opposed to 100 pts for getting voted off! It's a crap shoot if we have no idea how many votes it will be...so seems safer to pick who gets voted off....if the consensus across the spoiler boards indicates one certain person. (or in last week's case, TWO)
Re: the challenges, we don't get points for EACH player unless we pick 4 players to "win a challenge". IN that case, our TOTAL points for the Survivor Picks would be only 140 instead of 270.
We get points ONLY for each player we pick to win a challenge. Until the Merge, each player cannot win more than One challenge, b/c they are winning as a GROUP.
After the Merge, if ONE person wins both Reward and Individual challenges, we would get double points if we picked that person. Also, during the Finale...One player could win multiple challenges. In that case, game points would be doubled or more if we pick the correct player!
Hope this helps, and if anyone else has any suggestions on increasing our points, please share. Cool if we could get the #1 spot this week. :jam:

Hey Team, did you read this on the home page at FantasySurvivor.com? Some players lost all their points. They made picks after the show started....and got ALL their points taken away as a result since they took advantage of the site's deadline technical glitch. :naughty:
News:
Week 6 - We have finished processing and posting the result for the 6th week of Fantasy Survivor. After hearing from many of our players on both sides of the issue and combing though the game logs we have decided to disqualify the selections of 29 of the 1535 accounts for the week. Due to the technical glitch that kept Fantasy Survivor from locking selections on time, it was obvious from the game logs that a few players decided to take advantage of the situation and change their selections as Survivor was airing on the East coast, with some changing their minds up to 15 different times during the hour. Due to this, we had no choice but to issue a 0 score to all players who submitted selections after the 20 minute mark. All users who submitted their final selections before the first challenge begun were accepted as is (about 11 minutes into the show), while ther remaining handfull of selections were considered on a case by case basis. We feel this is the only fair resolution to the matter in order to reward the 1,500+ players who recorded their picks without the benefit of watching Survivor before deciding what predictions to submit. Thanks for your understanding in this matter.

i think 3 teamates are the runners for reward, that would be the physical part. Then the others do the easy part and thats where Brad is " sitting out " the physical part.
We see Adam/Rebecca/Parvati Raro doing the tile breaks then assumes Jenny /Brad are doing the easier barrel/puzzle part.
I think aitu sits out Nate because they want to win and might think Nate won't be much of a help because he might throw the RC to help his tribe Raro win .
Thats why I think its Brad that gets confronted by Adam . And word has it Brad is toast next week.

Ok, I just locked in my final picks for a 35% bonus. This 35% bonus ends at 5pm EST, and I'm guessing that a 33.5% bonus will follow if you don't lock in your picks now. That may end at 5 or 6PM EST. Bonuses decrease by 2.5% every few hours, so pick them early everyone!

By immune they would have to have a necklace of some sort i.e. individual immunity by winning it by by being rewarded with immunity by someone else.

I've been picking "Immune from vote" for those on the winning tribe (as per spoilers), and getting points.
Had Aitu lost IC, & Yul's name is written down, so at that point in TC, he is not immune from the VOTE. But if he receives the most votes, he would use the HII to save himself. He would then be immune from the vote, after all is said and done. So I would think the SF game would honor "immune from vote" in this case. ???

Very Good Question, RF! I stayed up half the nite waiting, falling asleep off/on!
I also wrote Artie and Admin of SFantasy yesterday asking when the Results and Ep 9 questions would be posted, but haven't heard anything yet. The questions should be posted anytime, so I'm on the lookout and will post them as soon as I know.

Just got home and rechecked scores. Even though I may have been the only one to see it ??? and even though they are back now :yess: this morning no one had any bonus points added to their scores. Not just our team - no one in the entire game. I emailed and asked about it nicely (haven't checked my email yet) so I'll take credit for getting the problem fixed before anyone else had to worry about it :lol:

Yul tells Ozzy he has the hidden idol but they come up with a plan to make everyone think Jonathan has it to make jon the target.
I don't know if Yul tells Jonathan about the HII or not? but anyway they get Jon to somehow vote with ole Aitu and Nathan gets voted out and yes Nathan is jury and thats all I know right now. OH and I think no one get exiled this week.

This is from the FS site
Week 7 - There seems to be some questions on how we are awarding points to any individual who may be carrying a hidden immunity idol. Since the Survivor is still eligible to receive votes at tribal council, we are not awarding immunity points to those Survivors until and unless the hidden immunity idol is presented to wipe out those votes. To be "immune", no Survivor should be able to cast a vote for this person either because they are not present at tribal council, or that they have been awarded immunity in some other way that is known before the vote. Since Yul could have recived votes at his tribal council, this is why he received no points for "Immunity" in week 6. This scoring method is also consistent to the way we scored the same scenario last season.

Aww drat. :'( Now I don't know what I'll do since I picked Yul immune from the vote...when the bonus was 30%. Wish I'd seen that info for Wk 7 earlier. :groan:

Sorry if I goofed up, Team, but I still think Yul should be counted as immune whether he can be voted for or not. Technically, he became IMMUNE when he found the HII!! Seems to me that he's immune unless he gives it to someone else, which he won't do.
I want to hear what Jeffie says about this!!
Whatever, I know the FS site has to establish rules for controversial stuff. I just wish I'd read the info before now. I read those notes on the home page, but somehow missed Wk 7. :(

Rudy here's the math - good luck with your decision
If you get all the questions correct they total 180 pt. X 30% = 54 pts. for a total of 234 pts.
if you change your picks now with no bonus available you'll need at least 55 pts. on the change to make it to your advantage.
If you just get 100 pts. correct on the questions your bonus will be 30 pts. If you are planning to change the question to "Isn't voted out" it is only valued at 20 pts. so it still wouldn't be to your advantage.
If you are confident of your answers it would be hard to make up the difference of a 30% bonus. I am not trying to sway your decision either way just giving you numbers to think about. Do what you think is best for you.

I did keep everything the same to retain the 30% bonus! :tup: My gut said it seemed more logical. Plus, I managed to do the math as you explained, s1. Hope all of my answers to the questions are correct, but if not, the large bonus will help.

Aww Sweetie RF...I do not know, Sorriiiee. :-\ And no, I do not have any inside scoop on the FS game or any game! I'm just the Team Leader since I created Tribe Refaforu. I also get frustrated with the inconsistencies and wish like crazy that FS would be like Lance's. His are posted the same night following the Show.
As much as we hate FS being tardy most of the time, we don't know the reasons. Artie may be holding down two jobs and works FS in as best he can, dunno. As Puddin suggested somewhere in this thread, the CBS Fantasy game is gone, b/c we really gave'em heck. (for legit reasons). But that game is now history. It was a great game & I do miss it in spite of its misgivings.
Let's hang in there, Team! Ep 10 results & Ep 11 questions will surely be posted this evening & yeh...we must hustle to get'em answered. Maybe the added pressure keeps us from mulling over them too much! Sometimes the last minute pressure is to our benefit & we score better? Hope so!

Cinera, I can only be around for a short bit but wondered about the person being exiled. I haven't looked at some more spoilers yet, but I can't help but think it might be Candice. I mean, doesn't this persons spirit take a beating and can't handle much more? Like I said, that just screams Candice to me. Tell me why you think it's Becky, I'm curious ;D

There is a clip from the auction tonight that shows where Becky has either purchased a trip to Exile Island or the right to send someone else there. Not sure which way it will play out but if Becky goes it will be her 1st trip, if she sends Candice it will be her 4th.

Also, about a survivor eating dinner alone, I just re-watched the preview and it shows all 5 of the alliance eating together. Unless they mean something else ???

Candice was exiled weeks 3, 8 & 9. If she is sent again this will be 4.

Yul week 2
Adam weeks 4 & 7
No One weeks 6 & 10. Week 6 was a double elim and kidnap of Nate. Week 10 was the merge.
I saw a clip somewhere (can't remember where, sorry) of Jonathan and the Aitu 4 eating together and I think it was Adam calling them out on it.
TDT thinks Ozzy is immune. Survivor Fever thinks Adam. Don't know who is correct or if it is someone else but if Candice is voted out it would make sense that Adam was immune. He is the biggest physical threat from Raro and even though they want Candice gone Aitu has been logical about planning long term. If they had the chance to vote Adam out I think they'd take it and at this point Jonathan would gladly go along with them. Just my thoughts I have no insider info. I don' think Becky would purcahse a trip to Exile Island for herself if she already knows Yul has the I Idol..unless there's something else over there that they'll reveal tonight. So it seems more likely she'd purchase the trip to send someone else there..and Candace seems the likely candidate..in keeping with the old Aitu strategy..for her abandoning their tribe.

:cmas16 Thanks puddin, I got home and found your spoiler info at 5 till 8:00 and managed to make changes just before FS closed. Otherwise I would have missed the Yul question and not picked Adam for immunity.
Now we need to hang on to 2nd place. Unfortunately, it is nearly mathmatically impossible to take over the #1 spot unless #1 quits making their picks.

BTW, I'm bummed I won't see it at normal time. Today is hubbys 50th bday and we are taking him out to dinner with a couple of friends meeting us there...they will get there first to surprise him. I would have had a surprise party for him tomorrow, but our church is having a Christmas program this weekend. So I will have it next Friday. Yeah, I checked Lancer players and all but one chose Parvati. The one who didn't, a non-cheater, split his points...gave 40 to Jonathan, some for Parvati and Adam. So he's the only player on the RFF team who got bootee pts! I never split points unless there's some obviouis doubts in spoilers.

In the wee hours of this morning, I studied and studied the chart at http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor13/show/vh.shtml
and came up with two...Parv & Adam, but now I'm awake!! So going over it again w/ a fine tooth comb, the answer has to be six.
Parvati/Adam vote for an Aitu. They voted for Yul BEFORE they found out he has the HII. Now, it would be senseless to vote for Yul, right? I mean, they could, just to make a statement, but doubt they will.
Then, the Aitus all vote for Parvati since it appears Adam wins IC (or is it Ozzy...need to ck on that)

You can't just add their points. You take the average score which means you add everyones total scores together and divide by the # of team members (14). Everyone else has 2500+ pts. #14 only has 200. This is very bad. I majored in math and have worked with accounting. This will kill our chances of hanging onto the #2 spot.

Just fiisihed watching the IC challange and have to say Becky really looks pissed that Ozzy won yet again. She needs to take a step back and remember the only reason she's still there is 1: she happened to luck out at the very beginning and be tight with the guy (Yul) who has the Hidden I Idol. 2: Because Ozzy was the winnign force bhind so many RC & IC challanges after Jonathan and Candace choose to leave their tribe. Both she and Yul cannot say they carried Ozzy..he helped carry them as well so they never had to put the I Idoll into play.
Ozzy deserves this game hook line and 1 million $ :cmas16

Ruday, that 2.6 pt. difference wasn't because of the new person. There was an error in figuring the scores last week that was just fixed yesterday I think. It increased my score by 30 pts. and maybe somebody elses. I haven't had time to check everyones but that madethe difference. 200 pts. would raise our averages by 14+ pts.

A few who post in this thread know my daughter is also ill. She's been having tests as an outpatient the last week in a San Diego...many miles away from my home. She called to update me, but I haven't posted the update in my Hey Rudy thread yet, b/c it's bad news, sorry to say. :cmas4 :cmas4 There's so much involved, I hardly know what to post, but will try to sum it up best I can later tonite or tomorrow.

I've seen weecama's name around the survivor boards for many seasons now and played several of the same games. she is always a well respected player and I'm sure if she had been playing weekly would have been a great asset to our tribe. :cmas31: my apologies if I said anything to hurt feelings, it was never my intent. It's just when you play based on averages 1 really low cummulative score can drag down the entire tribe down.

Alright, thanks, I'll change my picks now. s1, I think picking Yul/Ozzy as Sole Survivor/Runner-up gives you 45 more points than Recieves a vote.

If you pick them correctly cinera it does give you 45 more pts. If you pick it wrong you lose 450 pts. and get 0 pts. for those 2 questions. I'm not sure of the winner I've heard a lot of debate but nothing that sounds like a positive so I hedged my bet and went for next best thing.

They didn't show who voted for whom. Jonathon voted for Yul, Parvati voted for Ozzy, Ozzy & Yul didn't vote were F2 & Becky didn't vote but wasn't F2. Other than that if CBS doesn't post it online or show it on the Early Show tomorrow :duno:

I read it ten zillion times!! I answered the same as you, but it is still
bugging the heck outa me. The first question would be Becky b/c she was NOT one of the final two OR one who casts a ballot. But the 2nd question is too waaay out there. I don't understand how how it relates to the previous question, unless it has something to do with the tiebreaker...in which case SUNDRA would be responsible for the CORRECT answer to the previous question b/c Sundra losing the firemaking made Becky F3. Does anyone follow me?
Or clear as mud? :groan:

Thanks to all who gave their feedback. S1, I changed Yul's & Ozzy's as you suggested---Receives votes. Like you, I wasn't sure of the winner and went for next best thing.
Good thing I changed, b/c I picked Ozzy for the Sole winner.
Should've kept my very first answers, based upon a Yul win! But I kept reading over at TDT...and Ozzy sounded purdy logical.

We finished in 4th place. Our top 10 scorers would have placed in 2nd several 100 pts. behind 1st place. They were a hard team to beat.
Below is info about scoring posted on the game site so scores are subject to change if new info becomes available.
News:
Finale - The scores posted are pending any video showing the votes cast by the jury by CBS. As of now, only 3 of the 9 jury votes are publicly known. If the remaining 6 are revealed we will rescore those questions at that time.
Finale - Due to the twist in the final structure of the game, we have decided to treat any question/answer in our game referring to .final two. and .final three. interchangeably and therefore since Yul, Ozzy, and Becky were the finalists, they will score any corresponding points for being the finalists of the season.
