Title: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: chunkylover53 on July 27, 2006, 03:27:52 PM
From Realityblurred.com

There are so many American Idol clone competition talent shows on the air now that I’ve stopped caring. But I’m ready to make room in my life for SciFi’s new competition talent show, which debuts tonight at 9 p.m. ET.

Screw people with narrow talents or people who think the can dance: Who Wants to be a Superhero? has superheros. It may not have a creative name, but it does feature Stan Lee as a judge. Did I mention it features superheros?

These aren’t existing superheros, like Toby Maguire versus Christian Bale. Instead, as SciFi explains, the six-episode series “will challenge a lucky few to create their very own superhero and reward the winner with the best reality competition prize yet: immortality!”

A total of 11 contestants have been selected to compete; they include Cell Phone Girl, Fat Momma, Iron Enforcer, and Monkey Woman. The finalists will “live as their brainchild heroes 24/7, all under Stan Lee’s watchful eye” and “be challenged with competitions designed to test their true natures.”

After you mentioned it to me the other day, I set it up to record.  I watched it and just cracked up.  I gotta watch the rest.  It's just too funny.  Now is the 3rd the second episode or is there a different date to catch up on?

They have the Pilot episode for Free on iTunes.  But it might be only for tonight because tomorrow they update with new stuff on iTunes, so get it now while its free.  I'm going to check it out just because the first episode is free.

Jeffrey, after you told me about this, I just had to watch it.  My hubby and I were cracking up, especially during the challenge and the superhero in red.  What is his superhero name?  Hey....is that Cole?? :lol3: :lol3: :lol3:

This is a show I'm gonna have to watch.

I think he is Major Victory? No, Cole would be Levity, the first one eliminated. LOL

RJ, thanks for the support on the show last night. I wish I was able to make the live show. For once something I could have help with. I listened to the podcast this morning and every time Rob was saying he thought the show was on Tuesday I was yelling, "No Thursday night! No Thursday!" LOL

I love this show!  Hilarious.  Definitely worth watching all season.

Anyone else rooting for Fat Momma or Cell-Phone Girl?  I don't think they have any real powers that are cool, it's just that I think they'd make a funny movie on the Sci-Fi Channel.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".

I like Cell Phone Girl. She has some interesting powers and a cool costume.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TheCinera on August 03, 2006, 05:40:52 PM
What exactly is her power?  Can she call people without her call getting dropped?  Because if so, then she's got Cingular and I doubt she's the only one with Cingular.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".

Cell Phone Girl can teleport from one active cell phone to another; eyes can take digital photos; download any information available on a computer (i.e., learn Japanese on the fly); use cell-phone waves to move physical objects; fires beams from her cell phone.

All the heroes have powers, background stories and other info found on www.scifi.com

I saw the most recent episode of the show. (Or as much of it as I could get in, ie--the last half of the challenge and the new costumes.) I loved Stan's twist at the end. With the previews, I think I'll have to tune into the show again this week.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TheCinera on August 06, 2006, 06:28:34 PM
I agree.  I love the ending.  It makes me want to see the show more and more!  I'll definitely tune in for the rest of the series and watch the movie.  I'm not a comic book geek, but this show rocks!!!
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 07, 2006, 09:14:22 AM
It's seems most of the show is scripted, but I think all the challenges are real. I love that, it's kind of a combo of a reality show and a TV show. I can not believe Monkey Girl, I was apploading her tenacity for enduring those dogs for that long. Cell Phone Girl on the other hand needed to go. What a wimp!
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Reality Junkee on August 07, 2006, 11:13:23 AM
I thought the big dude who will be the villain was the wimpiest.  Only inches from the door and he calls "Uncle".  Could not believe it!   :groan:

I agree on Monkey Girl (or is it Woman?).  I give her major kudos!  And Major Victory made me laugh when he asked about his hair afterwards and they did a sparkle on his teeth :lol3:
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TheCinera on August 07, 2006, 11:31:51 AM
At the end, it did seem very scripted because I didn't see anyone else lugging a suitcase after they were eliminated.  And the TV turning on was a dead give away.  Still, I love this show.  And to be correct, it is Monkey Woman (not girl).
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 07, 2006, 11:43:36 AM
About Monkey Girl/Woman I'm so use to reading Legion of Super Heroes where eveyrone is a 'girl' or 'goy'. LOL
When he came out of the van at the end with a mask I was hoping he would continue through the series taunting them behind the mask. None of them knowing who was attacking them. But as the preview went on, it looks like they will know it's him. Bummer, still a funny show!
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Reality Junkee on August 07, 2006, 01:00:02 PM
I know, I think it would be better if they didn't know it was him (what is his name?).  But like you said, it can be funny still.  I look forward to seeing it. ;D
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 07, 2006, 01:04:12 PM
I wonder what Stan Lee was trying to set up with Tyveculous costume? He obviously set up the Iron Enforcer by saying, "I'm not sure it's quite right." He also told Tyveculous I'm not sure about it, what do you think?" I wonder if he was trying to set up Tyveculous as the villian also?
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TheCinera on August 07, 2006, 01:09:20 PM
I think that chicken hair-piece was horrible.  I don't know why Stan chose it for Tyvelculous.  And they changed The Iron Enforcer's name to The Dark Enforcer!  Very un-original, and why didn't they save his machine gun?  I wonder what TDE's power will be.

And I don't see Tyv. as a villian.  Especially if he had the chicken hair lol.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 07, 2006, 01:26:06 PM
Yes, they should have kept the gun for Dark Enforcer, that was the point of why he wasn't a super hero. Tyveculous certainly has the best costume. When I first saw his re-image I almost bust out laughing. To call him out because he was trying to spare Stan Lee's feelings was a dumb move on Stan's part. Is he saying a superhero woulldn't lie to spare someone's feelings?

I like Feedbacks original costume also. Anyone else like or dislike the make-overs? I really would have loved to see Cell-Phone Girl's new costume.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 07, 2006, 02:30:56 PM
I liked them all. Ty Veculus's costume would have been better if it wasn't for that stupid helmet. I was laughing just over the helmet.

For some reason I knew though that when The Iron Enforcer came onto the show he would be a better super villian then hero.

Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 07, 2006, 02:35:07 PM
I think Stan picked him for that reason. I'm sure he was projecting down the road and choose one person he wanted to be the villian. A neat twist, I can't wait to see how it turns out.

PS, I'm waiting for the convict reform episode. That looks good.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 07, 2006, 02:39:40 PM
It makes me start to wonder though. Do you think that Stan Lee asked Levity, Nitro G, and Cell Phone Girl if they wanted to be super villians but they turned him down?
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 07, 2006, 02:43:51 PM
It's possible, but somehow I doubt it. I think for an extra paycheck any of them would have taken the opportunity. They are, after all, simply playing characters.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TheCinera on August 07, 2006, 03:06:50 PM
But the other three eliminated wouldn't have made good villians.  The dark enforcer at least looks like he could be one.  I don't think anyone would fear Cell-Phone Girl.  Who would fear a skinny, good-looking girl in pink?
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 07, 2006, 03:12:31 PM
Thanks for clarifying my point. I was trying to get there. Stan had a good comment. The world is coming to an end and you give up because you have a headache? She lasted four seconds against those dogs, why did she even go in there? Dumb I loved Fat Momma's attempt. But those dogs are trained, they don't go after food.

You can't approach the show expecting excellence. It's not a quality show. You almost have to look at is as a spoof. With the right frame-set it's a hilarious show! As I said earlier, most of it seems to be scripted, but I believe the challenges are real.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 07, 2006, 04:33:29 PM
I love the show for the simple fact that it is so stupid. It is a show about eleven full grown human beings in tights pretending they are superheros. It is so stupid that is what makes it so good.

That is also why I want Major Victory to win. Because he is the biggest geek of them all. I'll never forget his line "Hello Mr. Shinny pants." I fell out of my chair laughing.

Back to what I was saying earlier. I don't think that anyone would fear Nitro G or Cell Phone Girl but it is Stan Lee we are talking about here. He could probebely make a small kitten a decent supervillian I am sure a girl in pink would be turned into some kind of villian.

So, who will be the next to go? If the next task is height, I wonder if Fat Momma won't bow out. I also think that Lemuria will be going sometime soon. I'm guessing one of them will be gone next week.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 07, 2006, 04:46:51 PM
I think it will be Ty Veculus next then Creature. Creature has not made Lee happy and the Ty Veculus one is just a hunch. I think the final three is going to be Fat Momma, Major Victory, and Lemuria. Feedback coming in fourth
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 07, 2006, 04:49:05 PM
I forgot about Creature. Add Creature to my list for next week.

To clarify, my picks for the next elimination will be Creature, Lemuria and Fat Momma.
This may be the elimination where eveyone is crying.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 07, 2006, 04:54:48 PM
Most likely. I don't think Ty Veculus and Creature have a chance.

Feedback, Major Victory, Fat Momma, Monkey Woman, and Lemuria have the best chance to win. They have mostly stayed on Stan Lee's good side.

I just remembered something. During the previews for next week it said something about The Dark Enforcer taking someones cape. Does that mean that the Dark Enforcer will get to eliminate someone of his choosing? Maybe that is why everyone is crying. It would definitely make the Dark Enforcer more evil.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 07, 2006, 04:56:31 PM
I was thinking that was more a figure of speach in the superhero world.

How about Lemria's costume? Wasn't that the same costume on Electra Woman and Dyna Girl? LOL
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 07, 2006, 05:01:17 PM
I think so but that is the problem with Lemuria. She has no creativity. She just put on a gold disco suit and gave herself a superhero name. She is the most... plain out of all of them.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".

Lemuria is cute.  I'm rooting for her because of that.  She's great eye-candy.   :hearts:

I never denied that she is attractive. But she has the most plain character. Personally I don't care about looks. but that is just me.

I think Tyveculous is Stans' biggest fan.  :jumpy: :lol3:
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Reality Junkee on August 08, 2006, 11:13:27 AM
I wonder what Stan Lee was trying to set up with Tyveculous costume? He obviously set up the Iron Enforcer by saying, "I'm not sure it's quite right." He also told Tyveculous I'm not sure about it, what do you think?" I wonder if he was trying to set up Tyveculous as the villian also?

I told my hubby that he would be put on the chopping block because he wasn't honest with Stan Lee.  He pretended to like the outfit when in fact he really didn't.  One thing a superhero has is honesty.  Sure enough, Stan Lee said that to him.  I think he was setting him up to see if he would be honest or not.

That first outfit WAS horrible.  Actually I told hubby that he looked like he could join the USC Marching Band (the Trojans).  Their costumes are fine.  But his headgear looked terrible on him.  Too much fluff.  I like his original costume the best.

Anyhow, can't wait for this weeks episode. ;D
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 08, 2006, 11:16:13 AM
The costume Stan gave him made him like like a giant plush doll.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 08, 2006, 11:45:40 AM
I think the costume would have been acceptable on Ty Veculus if it wasn't for that stupid helmet. He looked like a chicken.

In my opinion though at the last elmination it looked like Stan Lee had already made his decision that The Iron Enforcer was going to go, he just needed two other people to put up with him. Hint number one of this was when The Iron Enforcer got his make over Lee said 'something isn't right I just can't put my finger on it." and the second one was the fact that Stan Lee didn't give Feedback, Ty Veculus, and The Iron Enforcer a chance to defend themselves. He just said Iron Enforcer you are out of here. I don't think Ty Veculus and Feedback were in any danger at all.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 08, 2006, 11:49:30 AM
I agree. I noticed Stan pretty much set up the Iron Enforcer for the Dark Enforcer role. And IE seemed VERY cool with the idea. I guess his heart really wasn't into being a super hero.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 08, 2006, 11:56:00 AM
It seemed to me like all he wanted to do was win. Probebely just saw his opertunity to win something and become famous on TV and he took it.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 09, 2006, 02:07:02 PM
I was watching a rerun of last Thursdays show and on the opening scene when they are about to walk across the balance beam I noticed that Monkey Woman was missing or at least to my eyes she was. Does anyone think that Monkey Woman could be next?
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 09, 2006, 02:23:26 PM
It's possible. But she could have gone across or something. I guess we'll find out tomorrow. Still, I think Creature or Lemaria will go before her.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 09, 2006, 03:31:44 PM
Definitely Creature. I thought she would have been gone already. I would have defintely of taken Nitro G or Cell Phone Girl over Creature.

Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 10, 2006, 10:43:11 PM
Wow. Very interesting episode. I knew I didn't see Monkey Woman at that challenge. But it was cool how she got the boot. (And it also may have covered up some of the controversy that the show has.) Then TyVeculus goes. I have to say I think that TyVeculus did a stupid thing. He should have said himself. Everyone knew that. And now Fat Momma wants revenge. For what? How does she know that the others were just saying what Stan Lee wanted them to?
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Mandoli on August 11, 2006, 01:43:05 AM
That was a great episode. Good to see more followers of this show.

Can't wait for the next episode. The gloves. Are. Off.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 11, 2006, 02:19:19 AM
Very much so. Fat Momma is pissed. The other four better watch out.

At first I thought that Lemuria would make it to the final three but after this episode she showed her true colors to me. She is a bitch.

(Pardon my language)

I think it will come down to Feedback, Major Victory, and Fat Momma
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Mandoli on August 11, 2006, 02:45:05 AM
That challenge right before Tyveculus was sent packing was...I don't know...stupid? In my eyes, they were going to cross that beam up in the air. Next thing you know, they cut to the ground beneath them and they're about two inches off the rooftop.

*rolls eyes* Stupidest challenge to date.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 11, 2006, 02:49:33 AM
What I can't believe is that none of them figured it out. I guess adrenaline played a factor but at some point you need to relized that you are going in the complete other direction then the building and the fact that the board wasn't that high off the ground and it didn't look that thick. Any board would have at least bent under their weight. I can't believe they didn't figure it out.

I also didn't like the fact that Fat Momma got so mad at the others for saying I would like myself to go. Because she doesn't know what they were thinking. Maybe they really were thinking. I need to go. The others are better. Not this is what Stan wants me to say.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TheCinera on August 11, 2006, 10:01:03 AM
When I heard that Creature wanted to be taken of the show at the last elimination, I thought she really did want to quit and thats what the editing made it seem like.  Then MV came up and I thought they were all idiots for trying to take themselves out of the game.  Even I was fooled my Stan's mind-game haha.

I agree on TannerB's pick for the final 3.  I do like Lemuria, but she's not going to survive next week's episode.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Mandoli on August 11, 2006, 11:19:38 AM
I was thinking that Creature was definitely going to go after the rooftop challenge. And then when everyone came up to give Stan their word, I was shocked.

I too will also say that Lemuria will be next. She's a bitch. (For lack of a better word.)
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 11, 2006, 12:03:46 PM
Agreed. I finally found out that Lemuria was a bitch during this week.

I think Creature just bought herself one more day by saying take me off. She is definitely not going to win.

Even though most people would agree with Fat Momma that the others just said it because that is what Stan Lee wanted them to say I think Major Victory and Creature were sincere.

But regardless I think Lemuria and Creature are going to be going next week.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Mandoli on August 11, 2006, 12:16:18 PM
Creature's the weakest out of the final five in this game. Surely she'll go along with Lemuria.

But back to the episode. Best quote out of the hour? Major Victory calling himself "Major (a-bomb)hole" after he saw the clip of himself in the restaurant.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: BRL on August 11, 2006, 12:20:57 PM
The speed in which Creature went up to vote herself off
made me wonder if she meant it or if she said it knowing thats
what Stan wanted to hear. I just got into the show and think its
really a lame idea but at least its funny and something to keep me
entertained til Survivor and TAR come back.

I definitely pick MV and FB in the finals but I don't know who else to
pick.

I would love to see Fat Momma being made into a movie and a comic book.  Or Feedback.  I think MV is a carbon copy of Mr. Incredible, an un-original costume design, but I do like his title.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 11, 2006, 01:03:31 PM
Major Victory is my favorite. He is so funny and so far the only thing he has done wrong is give away is secret idenity.

I don't like Fat Momma now because of the fact that now she wants revenge for Ty Veculus.

I think Creature will go next, then Lemuria, then Fat Momma, then Feedback, and Major Victory will win.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Mandoli on August 11, 2006, 01:14:39 PM
I'd like to see Fat Momma or Feedback get their own comic book.

Major Victory is a ham. He thinks he's all that. His egotism will get the best of him sooner or later.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 11, 2006, 01:49:32 PM
I just can't help but laugh everytime I see Major Victory. He is a ham. That is most likely why I want to see him win.

But if it can't be him I would want Feedback to win.

I don't want Creature, Lemuria, and Fat Momma to win after the last episode.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 11, 2006, 07:57:45 PM
Wow, did I miss a lot of chat regarding this episode. I just got done watching the episode, OMG. I thought Creature was being sincere, the others I'm not so sure. What was with Ty Veculous attacking Lumeria the way he did? That was WAY out of line and I knew he was going to go.

As for the Dark Enforcer, I think just using him to help set up the challenges is dumb. He needs to have more of a villonous role. I like how he seemed to be instrumental in the secret identidy challenge. That was brialliant and truly something unexpected. Monkey Woman was dumb. I thought she was gong to stay, but it turns out she is jsut an actress. All my love of her character died when she said that.

Major Victory. I have liked him, but after this last episode I'm not so sure. I'm really liking Feedback and Lumeria even though she does seem pretty catty.

I really can't wait for the convict part. That looks like it's going to be interesting. I think Fat Momma will be the next eliminated. All this hatred will come to a head.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".

About time, Jeff!!

I have to agree.  Monkey Women lost everyone's respect when she told Stan she was an actress, including mine.  But I don't think Fat Momma will be eliminated.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 11, 2006, 08:22:39 PM
Okay, I was reviewing the beginning and during the felon scene, I don't see Creature. So it's possible she's eliminated next, or was just off camera. Either way the show's drawing to a close.

Anyone else upset that two are eliminated each episode? I think one a week would have been fine.

I like the fact that two are gone each episode.  It makes the show fresh because how else will they fill the show?
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 11, 2006, 11:09:11 PM
I agree. I am glad that they eliminate two a show.

Well in the convict scene you only see Feedback, Major Victory, and Lemuria. This could mean that either Fat Momma and Creature were booted or they just didn't show them.

When I went back, I did see Fat Momma in the group. The only person I didn't see was Creature.

Post by: TannerB on August 11, 2006, 11:38:39 PM
Really I need to watch that again then. I remember catching the fact that Monkey Woman was not in the scene on the roof and I was right about that (plus I won $10 off that so that makes me happy.)

Maybe if Creature isn't in the group then I can get another 10 off someone.  ;D :lol3:

Then I say that Creature's gone before the felon moment in time.

Just who goes after that is anyone's guess.

Pretty much. After Creature leaves it leaves Feedback, Major Victory, Fat Momma, and Lemuria which in my opinion would all make a good superhero (comic book thing). Well I don't know about Lemuria she is really starting to become a bitch.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Mandoli on August 12, 2006, 01:18:24 AM
Maybe that pisses Stan Lee off and moves her closer to elimination. Just thinking...
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".

I hope so. Lemuria and Creature need to go.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".

I think Feedback and Major Victory have been the two best for the comic book from the beginning. I wish both of them could win.

Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 12, 2006, 06:58:02 AM
Still, Lemuria's personality makes her interesting. As for Feedback, I picked him to win from week one. I do think MV will make it to the last, I just don't see Fat Momma going much further.

Maybe Fat Momma's secret identity is Puddin.  Notice she didn't say her real name on the hidden camera.

I picked MV to win from day one.  I don't know why, it just that judging by looks, he looked like the obvious winner.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 12, 2006, 08:01:09 AM
I always thought FB was the obvious winner by his looks and determination. I don't get that determination look from MV. He almost seems like he's an actor too.
BTW, have we gotten to the clip from the beginning where Lemaria shouts, "I would never do that." Still wondering at what point that comes up.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".

Nope we haven't seen that episode yet Jeff, most likely
we will see that in the next episode. We also haven't seen the part
where FB tells Stan that he reminds him of his father.

I believe that FB will win because I caught this from the
opening of the show.

Any thoughts?

Yea, I was thinking about that myself. I just brushed it off as perhaps a challenge? Maybe they all get a brief green screen presentation? I want to see Fat Mama go next.LOL
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".

Great Cap, BRL.  It does look like Feedback in the first shot, so it may be filming for the movie or a screen-test for the final two.  (Filming for the movie trailer, maybe?).

I searched Wikipedia for Major Victory and Feedback, and it turns out that those names have been in comic books before.  Major Victory is in DC Comics (not Stan Lee's Marvel Comics) and Feedback has been in Alpha Flight comics (Marvel).  This isn't a spolier, just something very interesting.  Fa Momma's name turned up nothing, haha!
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Jeffrey Scott on August 12, 2006, 10:28:01 AM
The closest I've seen to Fat Momma is Amanda Waller, also of DC comics. But she's no here, more bureaucrat that hates Super Heroes. Hmmm, maybe that explains Fat Momma's recent anger?
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: TannerB on August 12, 2006, 11:09:35 AM
Maybe this means that Feedback won and Major Victory still got a comic book deal from someone else.

About time, Jeff!!

I have to agree.  Monkey Women lost everyone's respect when she told Stan she was an actress, including mine.  But I don't think Fat Momma will be eliminated.

I too agree, but am sad she was eliminated (even though it was the right thing).  At first, my hubby and I thought her character would be a good Superhero.  I guess not since she lied.

These are the ones who I want to see gone:

Fat Momma
Lumeria
Creature

Fat Momma and Lumeria because of the fighting they did and what Lumeria said to FM.  And I just don't like Creature.

That green screen "test" of sorts could turn out to be the trailer to the movie. Since the first photo clearly shows Feedback ('cause of the blue in his costume), maybe he's the one who gets the film and comic.

And nice find on Wikipedia, Cinera. :) I never would have thought of it before.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".

I wouldn't think that Sci-Fi would tell us who won in the opening segment and risk it.  Seems more like a challenge than a screenshot of the upcomining movie.

BTW, our welcome Mandy.  I love Wikipedia, which is why I looked for it there.

Did anyone catch Stan Lee asking people if they had what it takes to be a Super Hero? Think this might get a second season?

As funny as this show is I really don't see it making to a 2nd season.

If its a challenge then I'm wondering why it would involve a green screen.

I like MV and FB but I also liked the young guy in the green outfit, cant remember his
name but he change into his costume in plan sight of people and lost because of it.

Didn't seem like Major Victory was doing an awesome job.

I don't know if anyone caught it, but during the end credits it said these were really paid actors and not criminals. WOW, those were some good actors!
Still, hard to blame anyone for not succeeding. Im so upset Lemuria is gone.

I'm upset too.  The only female left is Fat Momma, Lemuria was great eye candy. I'm rooting for Feedback or Fat Momma.  Major Victory is next to go!  Anyone know if next week is the finale?

Good eye, Jeff.  I was wasn't watching the credits, I was watching previews of next week's episode.  I thought they were real convicts.  The women sure did trick me into thinking she really was a convict.  But Feedback did the best job out of all of them.

I can't believe I missed it Thursday! :'(   I recorded a made for TV show called "The Ron Clark Story" which was REALLY good.  When I had found out about it, I wanted to see it.  But it wasn't til yesterday that I realized SH was on.

So, I looked at my Tivo schedule.  It says it's on Sunday...is that right?  I mean, will that be the right episode I want to see?  I did see some of your comments so I know who leaves.  But I stopped reading after 2 posts.  But those were the main spoilers I'm sure.

Okay, to go o/t....I LOVE this smilie:   :luvu:

Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".

Hmmm, I'm starting to wonder more and more now if the beggining actually did show the winner? Maybe Feedback does win. It's looking more and more like that. I wonder if only one will be eliminated this week, or will two more be eliminated and the finale be the winner filming his TV movie?

Speaking of the move, anyone planning on watching that if/when it comes to the Sci.Fi.? I might check it out, not sure. I'll pick up the comic book though. My kids would like me to. Okay, I am curious about that also. LOL

Yeah, I'll be checking out the mvie and the comic book, regardless of who wins.

They couldn't possibly tell us when the movie comes out on TV because they haven't told us who won yet.  The last episode (8/31) could be "The Making of the (Superhero's Name) Movie".

My prediction for next episode: Major Victory is eliminated because the children will hate him.

I think the children chose to eliminate MV and then the screen test will be versus Fat Momma and Feedback.  Both parts will be on Thursday, but they won't say who on the screen test until the finale.

Yes, I did get a chance to watch that episode.  Wasn't as crazy about that one as the others.  But my hubby and I can't wait to see who wins.  I just can't believe Fat Momma is still there.  Like Creature said before, how does teaching kids to eat junk food is considered a superhero is something I don't understand.

I might too.

But onto tonights episode... NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOO MAJOR VICTORY IS GONE!!!!!!!

It is down to Feedback and Fat Momma. Who will win?

I think it is Feedback all the way.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".
Post by: Mandoli on August 24, 2006, 11:26:17 PM
I'm still deciding on the DVD.

Now then...from here on, call this a spoiler warning. You have been warned.

Okay, tonight's episode was somethin' all right! Like I mentioned in my previous post (in this thread), Major Victory decides to ham it up not even ten minutes into the program. After hearing the speeches and questions from the kids, Fat Momma had it wrapped up. It was like she almost knew what to say in a situation like that. Feedback was a close second in my opinion, and then there was Major Victory. What to say about his classroom performance...two words: Oh. Dear. I don't know what was salvageable from it.

The reaction on his face when he saw his potential comic book cover. Actually, I liked all three reactions and I can't decide on who's was best.

Then we get to the Universal Studios/sleuth challenge, and Major Victory blows through it like *snaps fingers* clockwork. I have to applaud Feedback for being such a gentleman towards the silent woman at the end with the candy apple and purse (although she was starting to become a pain for me and I wasn't even a part of the challenge). Fat Momma shouldn't have stuck to her character too much, 'cause seeing her eat everything in sight was starting to become too much for me.

Afterwards, it was almost a downfall. Fat Momma locking herself in the bathroom 'cause she was scared over the elimination? Heck, if I had spent that much time with people who I had just met and connected with, I would almost be in tears as well. It was a dramatic elimination with Stan pointing out flaws from all of them during the challenges. But Stan targets Major Victory and off he goes into the sunset...

But first (I sound like Julie Chen or Laird Macintosh; take your pick), Major Victory is encountered with a phone call from his daughter. That was emotional in everyone's eyes, and MV leaves a hero no matter what the outcome may have been.

Spoiler is over. You may return to your regular scheduled post.

My winner prediction is Feedback.
Title: Re: "Who Wants To Be A Superhero".

Feedback is my pick too, he seems like the most obvious choice now.

Yes, I think Feedback will win it.
I knew MV was going to be leaving, he was the only one I did not see on the commercial with the green screen.

I have to agree, it was very emotional with the phone call. MV was a ham, but there is something likeable about the guy.

I liked MV and was hoping it would come down to him and Feedback.  Again, I'm upset that FM is in the F2 :groan:     Feedback BETTER win, otherwise I will wonder about Stan Lee's ideas for future comic book heros.

BTW, Superhero offered the first episode free on iTunes so I had downloaded it.  I did because of how funny it was especially with MV.   :lol3:

Tonight's the final episode. I will be watching, crossing my fingers, and hoping to God my winner prediction is correct. More than likely, I'll be on the edge of my seat.

I do believe I saw that there was supposed to be a marathon starting at 4pm EST today, leading up to said finale. (Could be wrong, though.)

(I was going to post this earlier, but I didn't want to look like an ass and double post...)

Oh, yeah. Feedback's the winner. He looked like he was having a ball in stunt school. Fat Momma, on the other hand, looked more like she was about to have a panic attack. No flipping for her.

And then when Stan came out into Citywalk in person, that was just about it. Just like he said: "I love happy endings."

Will be downloading this episode later today. (If I have enough time on my hands, of course. Will be busy, busy, busy today!)

Haha I kinda figured that Lee would come out and meet his new son (aka Feedback).  I can't wait for the comic book now, I'll be buying it once I can find a comic book store in this area.

And did anyone think that Feedback would win by a landslide?  Just by seeing how the viewers voted to see who would turn in their cape before the winner was annouced, that wasn't at all shocking.  Fat Momma: 73%  Feeback: 27%.  In fact I laughed at how the vierwers voted.

I think it was very obvious who was going to win. Feedback just wanted it more, and I think Stan was looking for that quality. Fat Momma was very gracious. It was nice to see all the past heroes back, especially the Iron Enforcer.

You're right, FM was gracious.  But I  think it was mostly because she didn't want it as much as FB.  She expressed that earlier and really wanted to be with her family.

I'm SOOOOO happy that FB won :jumpy: :woohoo:

The most amazing feeling in the world, second only to helping another person.  The Feedback comic book should hit the shelves in October or November.  No word yet on the SciFi Original Movie, or on the dates for the Superhero parade in Orlando, FL.  A huge thanks to everyone who sent MySpace messages, posted comments, sent emails, and made phone calls of support!

I can't wait for this to come out. I think it should be interesting. Stan promises immortality, but I wonder how long the character will truly be around and where he may end up. I wonder if he'll find his way into the Marvel universe or remain strickly Dark Horse.

I don't read comic books at all (But I am a fan of the marvel movies), although I will get this one.  I have no comic book stores around here, so I'm ordering it online.  It looks interesting too.

I'm anxious to see how the book is dealt with. Will it be a mini-series and that's it? Or just a jumping board into something else? I'm stoked.

I've got a comic book store that sells Dark Horse around where I live (might be a 15-minute drive, though). So when this does come out, I'll probably buy it.

Just off the top of my head I can think of three dedicated comic book stores as well as various other stores in the area that have comic book racks, so it won't be very hard for me to find it.

I think the release is in October?
