I think they are releasing this already on DVD! Maybe I am wrong!!

There is no set date yet for the release of TAR1 on DVD, and it's not certain IF TAR will EVEN be released....so please sign! Thanks so much for your support!!!!

Just found this on wikipedia:
Rob and Brennan recorded commentary for the Season 1 DVD on April 5, 2005.
The Season 1 DVD was planned to be released on June 7, 2005. However, that date has been pushed back to late September.

Good chance it will be released, but lets sign the petition anyway!!!
