Unless the teams screw up their flights again, the teams should all bunch up again. All teams appeared to finish late morning/early afternoon. Therefore they should start the next leg late night/early morning. The last flight at night from Istanbul to London is 7:15 pm. They won't be able to make that so they'll have to go the next morning.

The race moved immediately on to Cambridge and Aberdeen, Scotland. With the amount of new footage in the sequence, it seems likely that this is also new and we can expect the UK to be a stop.

OK, Gentlepeople, we are off to Londontown!! Several flight possibilities leaving early morning:
KLM via Amsterdam LV 5:55AM AR 10:50AM
LH via Frankfurt LV 5:45AM AR 10:15AM
BA non stop LV 8:55AM AR 11:05AM
Turkish Airlines non stop LV 8:30AM AR 10:30AM
So it looks like our four teams (with Ron and Kelly well rested; or were they too busy enjoying the suite in the Four Seasons to get any sleep?) will arrive in cold and dreary London in the mid morning.
Sunrise is at 7:57AM and Sundset is at 3:51PM so that does not leave much daylight for activity.
ROADBLOCK on the parking lot looks like late, late afternoon (some lights on in the background - and video camera can be misleading on the amount of daylight) Teams must go through what looks like a standard licensing test: drive a course and in particular back up within pylons (everyone is having trouble here)
DETOUR (at least one part of same) takes place on Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park (central London). Looks like they have to mover four boats from the lake, up a hill, to a stacking area. Someone has completed task (Uchenna and Joyce). M/G have two boats stacked, when they bring no. 24 to the pile; they then go back and Uchenna helps them move the fourth boat no. 6 up the hill, but leaves M/G to stack in on their own (and they as usual have trouble.)

Note that Ron is wearing his Baseball cap on in this pix. In preview he is wearing a knit watchcap. Did someone give him one or did he squander what money they beg for a new hat? Did you catch Phil saying that they would have to START the next leg with no money? So does this mean they can't beg from the other well to do guests at the Four Seasons while they are staying there BEFORE the next leg starts?

I took that to mean they'd be given no money at the start of the next leg. Nothing was said about not being able to beg. I guess it was Phil trying to change the script (usually he says "You'll be given no money at the start of the next leg.")

new rule is that teams cannot beg at Pit Stops in order to start the next leg with no money to their name (at least I'm 80% sure)
remember when teams used to do that when in the Pit Stop? (Brandon/Nicole in India, some other teams... etc)

What takes a chance? Rob and Amber. Does the gamble pay off? Yes and they get to London three hours ahead of the other teams.
No question on the beggers: Ron and Kelly (and they have a nice spot the ritzy Four Seasons Hotel.
Who gets Yielded by whom? My guess since it looks like Rob and Amber are in the lead, and Rob knows enought about the game to know that this is the third and last yield, so they yield UCHENNA AND JOYCE. He is still playing along with Ron and Kelly and he still thinks that Meredith and Gretchen pose no threat. And we do see both of these teams at the Bus Roadblock what looks like a lot later than Rob and Amber and Ron and Kelly.
Who has trouble with the double-decker buses? All four teams do: Rob, Kelly, Meredith and Joyce.
The big question: Does Rob quit? I think that the producers are teasing us into thinking that this will be Rob's BIG GAMBLE, that he will quit (as he did in Argentina) thinking that when it gets dark the task will end. But we now think that the Big Gamble was to schedule a connecting flight without confirmed seats from Cologne to London. I think that Rob would not take the risk of not completing a task so late in the day, and so late in the game.

I agree that Rob is smart...but I am starting to question the yeild...I think Rob would probably want to yeild R/k not U/J ~ remember he thinks that u/j and m/g are not competition.
But if R/A get to final 3 I think they will not win...I think that the last two might be something that Amber has difficulties and Uchenna does not and R/A come in second.

Don't think Rob and Amber have to go back to Baker Street to complete a task or wherever since most of these task one had do whatever it is correctly or they won't be handed the next clue by the controller.
The only way I think Rob loses is that he does QUIT the bus competition thinking that there is a time limit or something and he will be saved by he bell so to speak.
Or if he "cheated" somehow and is penalized 30 minutes or whatever and the final team to arrive at the pit stop (M/G) beats the 30 minute time limit. We have had this happen before.
But this is the first time I have heard anyone say specifically that a certain team will be on TES the following morning. Usually it is just the next castoff will be on at 7:40 or whatever.
After figuring out how to beat the other teams to London by three hours, it would certainly be ironic that he loses out in the end.

I read this too and it might be crdiable but i have a few questions.
1. Accoriding to vid caps of next week (unless the bus roadblock is early in the morining) MG are in last place because they are seen doing it as it gets dark while no others are doing it at that time, so this kind of proves Romber does not miss there flight, or the roadblock is very early in the morning.
2. How they hell does this guy know?? Why were we not told when BG, RD, LA were on the ES. Its not like he knows RA they are still on there honeymoon or just got back.
So Ra only go if the roadblock is early moring, or they screw up and get a pentalty like rob quitting the roadblock

I also dont get how MG would beat UJ in the next leg. UJ come in last in the second to last leg. But UJ, RK were seen together at the airport with neither MG or RA in sight but it was said i believe that one team might have been there before UJ, and i cant see MG being ahead of anyone, they have never been in first the whole race. But you never know. And i was also thinking that the "fourth place curse" would come back this season becuase it did not exist last season, with the team everyone loves landing in forth place. But yea you never know and come on this MBR had a 50:50 shot becuse its kind of know either MG or RA go this week.

It will prolly be Rob and Amber or Meredith and Gretchen becuase RK and UJ were both in Puerto Rico. My guess as to how Rob and Amber do get eliminated is that Rob sucks major ass at the roadblock. I mean we never see him finish and we dont know for sure is MG are the only ones there when its getting dark. I think its safe to say RK are safe and might come in first place because we she her jumping out of the bus and i think that indicates her finishing (i think)
So its likly if Rob and Amber do get eliminated its due to his inability to do the roadblock and his inability to have patcience, even though i think Amber should have been doing this roadblock being i think she is more clam and could had dont it better (if it is not stick and i dont think it is becuase Kelly is doing it)
I just think its so wierd becuase i think RA have been set up as kind of the second place team this year, i guess not? But who knows anything can happen on tuesday all the answers will come.

Everyone seems to assume that the picture by RaceyGirl strangely dated 18 12 04 in the middle of the frame is that of Ron at the Puerto Rico airport. But it is a strange picture. Remember they lost all of their possessions and all of their money at the Istanbul pitstop. Puerto Rico is probably three or four days later and there he is with another backpack. Does he spend what little money they have for a new backpack so late in the race with very little to put in it? And where is Kelly? And where is the cameraperson? It all looks like another photoshop pasteup as we had from London with Meredith.

I'm not all convinced that its Ron either Gman , and even so ( Speculation ) could it be that Ron was already eliminated and perhaps R&K are simply tagging along with the production crew untill they get to Miami pitstop or whatever ? Another question , I dont think there would be a mugging with three teams left in the finale , what purpose would it serve ? ..we see U&J with no backpacks in the P/R photo , why cant we see at least their TAR pouches ?
Does anyone know what day or days it maybe that the London leg would be around DEC __ ??

As long as they did not do an extended pitstop in Istanbul, I am pretty sure they arrived in London on December 13th. This follows from the Dec 11th boarding pass in Jodhpur.

Puddin and Gman - I have looked at the "Ron San Juan Airport" photo so much I dream about it. The one thing that bugs me is his collar on his blue shirt. Notice Ron has a collar on his blue shirt at the mat last episode but no collar on his shirt in the picture at San Juan airport.

Otto: that is the clearest picture I have seen yet of the "infamous" RacyGirl pix, and it just doesn't look right at all. If it is Ron who are the people he is talking to? What was he wearing at the fort in Instanbul? I'm going to recheck the tape tonight.
The shot of Uchenna looks valid and it really does look like he lost it all on the first leg of the final leg. That would be a first, I think, to have a non-elimination at the start of the final dash for home. And it would seem to put U/J at a disadvantage for that dash for home: no money is the creul part.
Where is home? Miami or through Miami to some place like Las Vegas?

Puddin, look for pix of the shoes. They tend to have a lot of unique attributes that may sort this out. It looks like him to me except for the butt. So, not seeing a face, I can't be 100% sure.

Gman - To me one is defintely a sound guy. You can see a boom mike dangling. The other guy could be a production guy. I have read all the analyses on this picture from TWOP, Sucks, Blows, etc. etc. and I always end thinking, okay it is Ron. But something always bugs me about it. Even the size of his butt. Some say the guy is too big and the guy's butt is TOO BIG to be Ron and others say the opposite that this guy is too skinny to be Ron. Now with Madbananarush at sucks saying Rob/Amber go this week, it has to be Ron right?

What is funny is that I actually met Ron last year. I talked to him quite a while and when he walked away I thought he kind of had a oversized caboose. He is 6'4" and his upper body is not big, just kind of medium sized. So that is another reason I think it is Ron, just looks like him from the backside.

They do not go to sequesterville. Sometimes production will use them as decoys on the last day of the race. Sometimes they are sent directly to the ending city to wait for the finish. I do not know if they "tag along" so to speak?

A: Both. For the most part, "Amazing Race" teams arrive and then take off 12 hours later — although their time may be adjusted slightly for crew-related delays (like if the camera operator had to use the bathroom during a leg of the race).
However, occasionally pit stops are 36 hours long to give the crew some much-needed rest. With a 36-hour break, teams leave the pit stop 24 hours after their scheduled departure time. Thus, we never notice the difference.
For example, if a team arrives at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, they should leave at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday. But after a 36-hour pit stop, they'd be leaving at 2:30 a.m. Thursday — still in the middle of night, but one day later. —A.D.

I know that The Early Show is advertising having the next eliminated team on Wednesday. But are we totally convinced that Uchenna and Joyce don't get Yielded by Romber in this episode, come in last, and then get mugged by Phil, since this is the second straight non-elimination leg. That would leave the normal 4 teams for the two-leg finale. [^/

I have been re-running the tape of Ron at the fort in Istanbul just before they arrive last at the mat. First the pants seem much lighter in color than the ones he has on in P/R. Second he is wearing pants that zip off the legs leaving shorts in Istanbul, but you can clearly see that the zipline is mid-thigh, while the shorts he is wearin in P/R come down to his knees. Conclusion they are not the same. Now we know that some teams share clothing with others, so perhaps someone gave him shorts when they arrived in the warm climate of Puerto Rico after the rather chilly times in Istanbul and London.
But as far as I can tell, he is wearing different clothing from what he was wearing in Istanbul. Oh, yes, he does have a light blue shirt on under his jacket in Istanbul, but i can not tell whether it is short sleeve or long sleeve.
And what about that old spoiler from Miami saying that a team with matching blue shirts was running off the jetway with a cameraman shooting them from the front. Could this be Ron and Kelly? They both have light blue shirts on.

Phil never said at the beginning that there would be four non-elimination legs. He only said that this was the first of EIGHT elimination legs. Elimination in London would be the eighth such elimination leaving three teams from the original 11. But another question might be if we actually have a pit stop at the end of leg 12 which would be the first hour on May 10 would we have another non-elimination and force one of the final three to give up all their hard earned savings and all of their possessions except the clothes on their backs?

Too funny puddin. Anyways, Gman, to me even though the shirt doesn't appear to be the same in the airport photo, the pants to me look the same, although the pants definitely looked very crumpled like he has been wearing and sleeping in them for a couple of days. The shoes look also the same to me.

As you can see in the picture posted above me in Istanbul he had teh climbing gear whichbunched up his pants at the top of his legs. The zip probably comes down lower usually.

Racers Gamble on Plane Tickets on The Amazing Race 7
"The Devil Made Me Do It" -- Some Teams reserve seats on flights while others take a risk with unconfirmed tickets for an earlier connection, on THE AMAZING RACE 7, Tuesday, May 3 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Phil Keoghan is the host of the series.
Nearing the last legs of the Race, some Teams take a chance by purchasing airline tickets without confirmed seats on a connection, while other Teams have seats on a direct flight which arrives later. Forced to beg for money and personal provisions, one Racer shares a stranger's tube of lipstick. One Team uses the Yield to hold back another Team. Will this delay affect their standing in the Race? The remaining participants in the race are Uchenna/Joyce, Ron/Kelly, Rob/Amber, and Meredith/Gretchen.

This question is usually asked of a leading team, which makes me think Ron/Kelly are not the Yielded team. I'm thinking Romber Yield U/J, who started the leg in the lead.
Here's my spec (thanks to all the fine detection in various threads):
Romber get the lead with the early flight, get to the Yield first, and Yield U/J. As we've seen in the past, the Yield hardly ever puts people that far behind, and U/J catch up to M/G either at the Detour (where they help M/G with the boats) or at the RB (where both are seen in waning daylight). Ron/Kelly somehow move into 2d place, and Kelly manages to finish the BusBlock ahead of U/J and M/G. M/G get ahead of U/J (in the previews we saw Joyce having trouble with the bus, so Meredith finishes ahead).
Romber completes the tasks ahead of everyone, but somehow along the way, they either miss a step in one of the tasks, and have to return to complete it properly, or are penalized at the mat. Ron/Kelly come in first, followed by M/G, then U/J, all ahead of Romber.
The above is what i've based my MW picks on.

rmax i think you right one the only thing is that i dont think RA get a penalty (i mean they might) but i think its safer to say that maybe Rob does HORRIBLE at the roadblock and everyone passes him, becuase we do see MG at the RB geting dark and you never know RA could still be there.
So thats my spec. as to how RA get eliminated but you never know they could get a penalty.

So Ron or Kelly would have 12 hours to map out exit plans for a collection of likely destinations. This is presently puzzling me. Because wouldn't R&A head off to the airport (IST) before R&K go to (SAW)? I am seeing about a half hour between their checkin times. It's hard to imagine that both teams would think of using the SAW-CGN-STN trick independently.
Time is running out. But someone should see if there is another 'better' flight to use involving IST.

Maybe R&K flag down R&A at the mat (we would never be shown this) and negotiate a trade of key information--the flight--for some cash. Which they need.
Of course what we see would be Rob acting as Mr. nice guy and waiting for R&K, spotting them some cab fare and "oh, there is this flight..."

I think the difference between RA and RK's checking time is more like a few minutes. When RA were on the mat Phil pointed to them Ron who was searching for his key. All he had to do was to rappel down, open the clue and get Kelly to run to the finish line.... I don't think that took a half hour... unless they stopped to put on more clothes

From their appearance on the mat I would say that Ron and Kelly didn't put on any extra clothes - Kelly didn't look like she had and why would Ron put the harness back on after.

I think the difference between RA and RK's checking time is more like a few minutes.
I know they showed Ron on the tower as R&A checked in but he had not found the key yet. I looked at the change in the shadows on the tower as each team did the rappel down. There is a big difference between Rob's and Ron's.
My estimates for checkin times are: R&A 1:26, R&K 2:01.

Hi, everyone:
After a lot of rain yesterday, it's turned into a lovely day here in New York. I feel bad for those of you in Texas who are experiencing unseasonable storms. Dave filled us in on the conditions there.
This morning, we heard from Claude Mason, the father of the groom in the runaway bride story. After all the groom's been through, it seems he is still standing by Jennifer Wilbanks.
The community may not be, however. Last week's search for the bride cost her community tens of thousands of dollars, and the district attorney in her hometown says he's still deciding whether to file charges. To debate the issue, we talked to defense attorney Gloria Allred and CBS News legal analyst Wendy Murphy. They both had very different opinions on the issue at hand, as do, I'm sure, people across the country. You can voice your opinion after reading what the lawyers said about whether charges should be filed against her.
From brides to mom, this morning, our style maven, Christy Ferer, was in the studio, showing us fun gifts for Mother's Day. I thought she had some great ideas, especially for moms who like to feel young and hip. Even though I already got a gift for my mother, I saw some good ideas for her birthday in June.
I loved chatting with Kathryn Morris today. She just got back from Australia where she was greeted like a rock star. The CBS drama, "Cold Case," is a monster hit over there. It was nice to hear stories of young girls looking up to her heroic character as a role model. I'm eager to see the surprise season's ending she alluded to. Her new movie, "Mindhunters," is definitely a film to which you have to pay constant attention. I enjoyed trying to solve the mystery while sitting on the edge of my seat.
I'm excited to watch "The Amazing Race" tonight, as it gets down to the wire. Love or hate Amber and Rob, they are fun to watch! Tonight's castoffs will be in the studio tomorrow on The Early Show to tell us what went wrong.
Also tomorrow, I'll be talking to Dr. Phil.

I think it would be pretty hard to determne where they were going next from Istanbul before they get their clue at the pit stop. And I wonder how far the Fort is from the Four Seasons Hotel? We never see teams going from the pitstop hotel to the clue box which always seems to be where the mat was in the previous show. so if they have to take a taxi there, R/K would have to beg for funds first, also to take taxi to airport. But back to the hotel and Internet: the logical places to look for flights would be to the East since the teams are still under the impression that this is a "race around the world" as they were told by Phil in the very opening sequence. So it would be a stroke of pure dumb luck to pick out flights to London as the next place to go. We all knew that there was a good chance that London was next since we saw the shots in the opening credits! Not so for Ron and Kelly, and I wonder if they would be smart enough to figure that one out.
If R/K do end up on the SAW-CGN-STN it will be interesting to see how they do it.

The money begging is really a sore spot here. Because, if they cannot beg until their Leg starts then they are stuck walking away from the fortress at 2 am. I did not see any big resorts or hotels in the satellite image of the area (yes, I looked!). I am sure that production transports them back to the mat from the hotel.
If I was R&K I would try to snag R&A at the mat off camera and sell them some info. So I would spend the internet opportunity getting it. I think you can scrounge around and get a list of all arriving flights and departing flights for a given airport. You know when you are going to need to fly. Then get similar information for each of the destination airports (you've got 12 hours!).
If they can beg before the Leg then no problem. They will get enough cash.

If they are in Old Towne then they have a problem since Rumeli Hisari (the fort where they did the rappeling) is at least 4 subway stops north at 4Levent. If they can't beg for money until they get back to the pitstop mat, they are in deep doo doo unless production provides transportation for them.

Americans do NOT need visas for any EU member country which includes United Kingdom and also most of the Eastern European countries which will be joining the EU.
