Don't laugh at me just yet *8/ , what about this ?? at the top of the TAR website/Travelocity Gnome ? (http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race7/)
-
We're not laughing, but this could be it. Which team has not won anything from Travelocity yet? Sounds like the K A Boys. But where does this take us? Ep 9 is pretty sure to be second leg in India. Turkey or London? Not likely. Cambodia or Australia? Possible.
-
That's surely Alex & Lynn. Your right. Maybe winning something.
My feeling is that its ELIM-NONELIM-ELIM-NONELIM-ELIM.
I think that next Leg for me M&G are out.
Then, leg after that #1 A&L, #2 Romber, #3 Uchenna, #4 Ron & Kelly (saved by Non-Elim).
Though, with M&G's insane ability at staying alive, live coachroaches, I'd never bet against them!
They have by far the worst average of any team that ever reached this point, even worse than the twins!!
It would be pretty insane if they profited from 2 non elim to beat much better teams... Lets hope not.
-
they have done a pretty good job, but I dont think they can handle much more.
-
i wouldn't want to be phil and take away gretchen's new backpack. (%#
they're doing much better than i thought they would for sure. just have to watch the self defeating attitude during the roadblocks and they could make it. maybe their new alliance with the boys and j/u will keep them around longer than rob/amber and ron/kelly. now that would be exciting tv for sure.

I think it's really Lynn declaring...' I AM A GNOME. I AM A GNOME!!!"
lol
-
For some reason, I can hear Gretchen saying "We got a gnome! We got a gnome!" She repeats herself, and the syntax is how she speaks.

OH MY GOD!!! That is too funny. LOVE it.
-
I'm thinking it's another internet challenge (like TAR6 in Budapest) where they have to use some site involved with Travelocity.
-
Good idea Chateau d If , product placement . I can hardly wait to see what country is after India |#'
-
If we go with our info from Jamaica and Montreal, then that only leaves two other legs before the finale. I guess we can rule out both London and Istanbul for this edition of TAR.
-
Okay, I'm lost here. What do we have about Montreal? It's going to take some strong evidence to shake my hopes for London and Istanbul.
Tuesday, Dec 7th, Teams arrive 9:44 and 9:52 am in Lucknow, Roadblock and Detour, and TBC
21 hr train leaving at midnight
Wed, Dec 8, overnight train arrives in Johdpur, about 9 pm
Thurs, Dec 9, R & D, pitstop (for 4/19 show), non-elimination 5 teams left
Fri, Dec 10
Sat, Dec11 Istanbul pitstop (for 4/26 show), elimination, 4 teams left
Sun, Dec12
Mon, Dec 13
Tues, Dec 14 London pitstop (for 5/3 show), non-elimination, 4 teams left
Wed, Dec 15
Thurs, Dec 16
Fri, Dec 17 Jamaica pitstop (for 5/10 show), elimination, 3 teams left
Sat, Dec18 teams at airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Miami Florida on Dec 18, 2004
-
Chateau, you are a persistent one, arn't you? Still have the teams backtracking to Istanbul and London, but TAR has always prided itself on boasting that it is a global race around the world! But at least you stick with your convictions and don't change your predicitions in each post as our ApprenticeFan does. He/She/It was positive we would be going to London and Istanbul after Africa, but now has the "inside" information that we go to Australia next!

This destination spoiler is fake, Chateau d'If. I'm so confused now. Australia and Cambodia are the last countries after India.

ApprenticeFan has been pushing Australia for 3 races now, bound to be right one of these days!
The backtracking is still possible, we will know after the next week previews.

The next stop is Jodhpur. After that, maybe they go to Australia, as tullfan suggested, to the gnome area in Perth, Australia.
www.southwestlife.com.au/...rs0804.htm
Maybe they go next from New Delhi to Perth? It would put them on course to go around the world.

I saw that Gnomeville, Australia post and would like it to be true, but I don't. The producers can involve a product placement task for Travelocity anywhere like they did last year for AOL in Budapest.
I still think they don't circle the globe this time. I believe it's one of the surprises Phil mentions here http://www.usatoday.com/life/books/news/2005-03-17-amazing-race_x.htm However, i hope I am wrong.
To show how bored I am, I calculated the degrees of longitude they will have traveled if they return to the U.S. from Locknow.
Long Beach (118 W) to Locknow (80 E) 198 degrees
Locknow (80 E) to Miami (80 W) 160 degrees Total : 358 degrees
THEY WOULD BE 2 DEGREES SHORT!!! The final pit stop must be west of Miami. Ha! Ha!

I'm guessing that the next leg is Wales because:
1) I think the license plate shown in the preview begins with DL http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?method=4&dsid=2222&dekey=British+car+number+plate+identifiers&gwp=8&curtab=2222_1 In England, cars beginning with D and DL are registered in that part of the country.
2) Racers sit behind the driver when riding in Taxis. Ron and Kelly's taxi was right wheel drive. Cars in Wales have their steering wheels on the right.
3) Gnomes are big in Wales.
Of course, I'm probably wrong. They are probably in the Pacific basin somewhere. Ha ! ha!
-
3) Gnomes are big in Wales.
By definition, gnomes are small. (sorry, couldn't resist. I know what you meant!)
-
ha! Ha! I was so wrong. It's Turkey per the CBS preview.

Since it has been pretty much shown now that New York is NOT the final mat (last night's elimination of L/A took care of that!) and since we have a pretty good spoiler having teams going from Puerto Rico to Miami, but only a filming permit for Miami Airport, could it be a hint that the teams end up in Las Vegas? That would almost complete the "around the world" aspect of the race, and the weather is warmer than somewhere in the Northeast in mid-December. Just a thought.
-
WooHoo Turkey it is .On my way ...
-
Well, well, well (and so much for all your theories, Apprencticefan (or will you go back now to your theory number 67 that the teams go to Turkey after India?) According to preview video on CBS website, the teams now backtrack to TURKEY. They even have a map showing the route from India to Turkey. But why the big fat red "X" superimposed on the map? Do they hint that this was the orginal plan, but it was changed? More castle wall scaling a la Corsica! TAR producers are running out of original ideas. Can we identify the castle as being in Istanbul? And the cab looks to be a right hand drive (camera on the left seat in front) but Turkey has left-hand drive. So perhaps this is cab to the New Delhi airport before they leave for Turkey. For a busy site such as New Delhi, that airport looks awfully deserted; middle of the night perhaps?
-
Gretchen is carrying a gnome in the preview!
And the Castle really is the Rumeli Fortress (http://www.istanbulinfolink.com/photo_gallery/photo_istanbul/photo__2_rumeli_fortress.htm) as previously spoiled. See that there is the same suspension bridge in the background as appears in the first second of the preview.
Even better Rumeli Fortress (http://www.istanbulportal.com/istanbulportal/Rumeli_Fortress.aspx)
-
Gretchen is carrying a gnome in the preview!
yeah, at the part with the doves and everything (pigeons, doves, same difference...)
I wouldn't be suprised if she titles that episode again.
Anyways, looks like they're going for the "horseshoe" route this season which kind of sucks because they're leaving Asia behind and its not a race AROUND the world anymore but bleh, I'll still watch
3 episodes left according to CBS, two non-elimination legs back-to-back (?), and the finale which is actually two legs

I was thinking the same thing but I don't remember when R/A have ever even thought about being ahead of the other teams. They just keep going and don't think about anyone else. My thought is the U/J and G/M are proud of themselves for some move they make and get confident. She is always saying she is bringing up the rear so maybe she realizes that after.

It is definitively not in SE Asia (I leave there), so there are not in Malaysia, Indonesia, S'pore, Thailand or the Philippines.

Hi,
I grew up in New Delhi and can confirm that it is indeed New Delhi in the pictures below. The car has been correctly identified as a Tata Indica. The board on the roadside is a Delhi Traffic Police divider. The numberplate on the Indica starts 'DL', suggesting a Delhi vehicle. The speculation that the pictures were taken on the way out of India is most likely correct.
Cheers!
-
Oh crap I hope its not another 21 hour train ride or Camel Ride ..lol |( , what sorta race around the world is this turning into ]][ ?
-
I will go back and check the Indian Railway schedules, but assuming last time that they might take a train from Lucknow to New Delhi on to Jodhpur, the train ride from New Delhi to Jodhpur took 11 hours (those trains are not the fastest in the world!) And talking about trains if the train left Lucknow at 7:00PM and arrived in Jodhpur at 9:00PM, this was the same time that the train leaving at midnight arrived. So perhaps the producers had a special car attached to the train leaving at 7:00PM and it was switched over to the direct train somewhere along the way.
I want to go back to the first show and see just what Phil said about this trip; did he actually say that the race was around the world? or just that it covered 40,000 miles and went through four continents?
And we are just assuming that the intro pictures are correct and that the team will go on to London.BUT could they just be making a small hicky back to Istanbul, and then will fly directly to Vietnam, Cambodia, or even Australia for the May 3 show? This would get them around the world.

Also, these could be recycled shots from season 3. However, the only destination in that leg actually in London was the Tower Bridge and it was edited out of the episode. The race moved immediately on to Cambridge and Aberdeen, Scotland. With the amount of new footage in the sequence, it seems likely that this is also new and we can expect the UK to be a stop.

Phil: In just a few minutes, you'll be leaving on a race around the world. Separated into legs. Various tasks. Cash to cover expenses except airline tickets. Eight pitstops are elimination points. If you're last, you'll be eliminated. Your first clue, waiting inside the envelope atop your luggage. When you get the word, get the clue, and run to the cars in the parking lot. The first team to cross the finish line wins $1 million.
Amazing Race 7 Preview (http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,4802.0.html)

This is from the TVGuide.com preview of TAR7:
"This season, the show has definitely gone back to its roots. There are a lot of photo finishes, and there are a couple of new twists and turns that will really engage people. For example, teams that come in last place will face new consequences that we haven't seen before."
Format changes aside, Keoghan cites casting as the main reason for this season's success, starting with the biggest names, Survivor winners Rob and Amber. "They stirred the pot up quite a bit," he laughs. "Some people were surprised by the choice, but just to be clear, they came to us about being on the show. We didn't go and find them."
Not everyone on the race was pleased to see them, either. "Right from the beginning, there was quite a bit of animosity directed towards them. I can't say they were warmly embraced. This was a totally different experience for them. I think they were quite surprised by the speed of the race. On Survivor, they're used to not eating and talking a lot. There's no real downtime here."
In addition to Rob and Amber, Keoghan says fans should keep an eye on a few other teams. (Click here for photos of them all.) "There's Ron and Kelly, a dating couple," he says. "He's a POW who was shot down in Iraq and was in the news for quite a while. There's also a married couple, Uchenna and Joyce. Both have worked for companies that went bankrupt; both have had financial difficulties in the past and both are absolutely desperate to have a child. They really came into this race to win. A lot of teams come on for the experience, but this team is there because they want to win the money and use it to have a child. There's a real focus there and you don't see that with a lot of teams."
Interesting to note that Phil talks about "new twists and turns" Does he mean the race takes a 180 degree turn back on itself? But in the very first ep he talks about a race AROUND THE WORLD. So where do we go next?
Also it is interesting to note, and this was before the first program aired, that the three teams he talks about first and the mostest are Rob and Amber, Ron and Kelly, and Uchenna and Joyce. Is he highlighting the final three or is this just a coincidene? (But I never believed in coincidences) He obviously had these three teams at the head of his list of interesting teams. And he reiterates the fact that U/J are unemployed, and in need of big bucks for invitro proceedures. Again a hint that they indeed win the race?
But then we have those dang gone UK pix. And ApprenticeFan and his itinerary.

I thought it was interesting the threee that were mentioned

Yes this can be quite confusing .. off to search the boards for spoilers :<(

OK 8-)' I will throw my hand in at this.
First I have to say, ya'll are just amazing ]-{
Now for my bit of observations: First, is Uchenna scaling down the wall. He appears to be almost done and you can clearly see two things to note. There are 5 ropes to be repelled. Why five ropes? If it is a roadblock, it would only be necessary to have four ropes. Also you can see that where Uchenna has already repelled, the rope is thicker, since there are two there. The other four ropes are not. He is definitely the first one down the repel. Now in this task, we see Rob climbing, Gretchen climbing and Uchenna repelling. The dark body that swings on the ladder and looks like it hits the side, I cannot tell who that is. Do we actually see Uchenna climbing or Grethchen and Rob repelling?
Other observations:
Joyce is very high up, in reference to the bridge and she is looking up. Talking to camera? Is Uchenna there?
A body can barely be seen as soon as Uchenna is beginning to repel. It looks like it might have a white helmet on, not yellow shirt. It is to Uchenna's right.
Last: I cannot tell the type of clue Gretchen has in her hand when carrying the Gnome. Also why is she by herself if it is simply a Route Marker.
These are my observations and once again I am amazed at the sluething that goes on here. It is just phenomenal! Maybe some of my amatuer questions and observations can help a bit.

We can't know everything kraziladi }}{ .
Now in this task, we see Rob climbing, Gretchen climbing and Uchenna repelling
Yep , from what I can see Ucheena is rapelling and Rob & Gretchen are climbing .
Do we actually see Uchenna climbing or Grethchen and Rob repelling?
Not as far as I can tell .
The dark body that swings on the ladder and looks like it hits the side, I cannot tell who that is
Neither can we . I think its Rob /Gretchen or Ucheena (*( ?
A body can barely be seen as soon as Uchenna is beginning to repel. It looks like it might have a white helmet on, not yellow shirt. It is to Uchenna's right.
Thats more than I can see ..no idea .
Last: I cannot tell the type of clue Gretchen has in her hand when carrying the Gnome. Also why is she by herself if it is simply a Route Marker.
We don't know thats shes alone ..this is all we can see and we cant read what shes holding .

Thanx for answering the questions Puddin =]/.
I was just going out on a limb, thinking maybe one member of the team climbs and the other repels. The only problem then would be that there would have to be another choice for the detour. Leaving the roadblock the Gnome (which I think is just a route marker task) and the roadblock the Whirling Dirvishes.
And yes, the forum here, does almost know it all and that is great! :<(

Thanks kraziladi .. couldn't do it with out all of you helping ,i think we all make a pretty good team here ]**]
