This thread is the WORKZONE of our spoilers.
This is where ALL the spoiler discussion of the TAR 38 race goes, NOT in the LIVE thread. It is where we try to thrash out what the LIVE sightings mean.
As always, per RFF's practices, we do not a future location until it is believed that the teams are safely underway. We would never want to put a team in jeopardy or cause them distress or interfere with the actual running of the race. Info on future legs may occasionally be protected for those reasons. But if you have info to share beforehand, we would love to know, so please PM or email RealityFreakWill, Leafsfan, Xoruz, or a detective. Spoilers are treasured!

I wonder "what she heard " that was exciting. She must b a canadian fan. Exciting might mean canad vs usa. I doubt she would be excited about a twist
-
Does anyone know if this is a “themed” season? Knowing the cast identity rather quickly is interesting but I don’t know if that’s common.

Its not a themed season.

The race starting in Canada is so random. Excited for Vancouver to finally be visited!
Here's hoping this season does a full loop around the globe!

It makes logistical sense as a first leg. TAR Canada always had to go through Vancouver to travel to Asia.
But yeah, it's been a long time. Not since Family Edition.
-
Logistically, I would expect one leg in Canada before going off somewhere else. I don't think they would want to start a season with two legs in a country that feels very same-y to the US unless one of the legs was in the Arctic or Quebec. But if they are traveling to Asia next, it wouldn't make sense to leave Vancouver.
-
Oh yeah, it's almost certainly going to be a one-leg "close to the US" visit (like Mexico City for 28, or the U.S. Virgin Islands for 25).
Looking to TAR Australia 2's visit to Vancouver as an example, because knowing TARUS' style of leg design, I expect some of the most stereotypically Canadian tasks possible:
-Something with First Nations (I see a few in the background of the sighting photo)
-A lumberjack task
-Curling
The Grouse Grind would be a good, physically taxing route marker.
-
Wiki says they're not leaving Canada:
QUOTE:
"The Amazing Race 39 is the upcoming thirty-ninth season of the American reality competition show The Amazing Race. Hosted by Phil Keoghan, it will feature teams of two, each with a pre-existing relationship, competing in a race around the world to win US$1,000,000. Starting in Vancouver, teams raced through Canada before returning to the United States."

Ignore that, lol. The other countries will be added to the list as they go along.
-
Nearly had a heart attack omg. lol
-
Well, with eleven teams identified out of thirteen, have there been any signs of the identified teams having online activity? It would certainly point to one of them being eliminated first.
-
TAR facebook page updated with video of Phil announcing Vancouver is the start of S39!
-
Same on Phil's Instagram page.

-
Any spotting of online activity from anyone yet, assuming that leg one was an elimination leg?
-
Also can we expect a Jon cameo like an Allan cameo we had in TAR16?
They started next to the 2010 cauldron and went to the opening ceremony stadium. It would be a big missed opportunity if they didn’t have him.

Extremely wishful thinking but it would be nice if locations this season paid homage to International seasons. TAR Canada and hopefully a visit to Australia for TAR Australia cameo.
-
Seriously? Are we seriously not on the move yet?

Seriously? Are we seriously not on the move yet?
I looked through the YVR flights to east Asia last night. Seoul had the most flights so I was definitely thinking along those lines. The last of them landed in the last few hours so maybe they’re connecting elsewhere or didn’t fly out yesterday and starting the next leg today.
-
How likely is China? TAR Discord mentioned that the teams maybe headed to Shanghai from YVR. Personally Shanghai is too over visited for a Chinese city, perhaps using Shanghai as a transit spot?

Also, any noticeable online activity from any of the identified cast members? Might help us determine our first and even second eliminations.

Oh, damn. On one hand, one men's team down already. On the other hand, hate that my peeps went out first.

Wild speculation incoming:
Will they visit future FIFA World Cup host nations this season?
2026: Canada, USA, and Mexico.
2030: Spain, Portugal and Morocco + Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay.
I doubt that they'll visit Saudi Arabia, but who knows.

It would be another Eurocentric route if that’s the case. Only 3 Asian countries have hosted the world cup (Japan, South Korea, and Qatar) and I believe Qatar is still blacklisted.
-
I would also imagine production would steer clear of the Middle East at this point in time

Not if they visit the host countries of 2026 & 2030 editions. 2 European, 1 African, 3 South American and 3 North American countries.
No new countries though, but at least it will be 4 continents and visit to Africa for the first time since season 31.

Who's that? Is it one of our identified teams? Or one of the two still not identified?
Unidentified blue team
-
It is a good time to visit Nepal I think. They had always wanted to go there. But with the recent Gen-Z Protest it remains a Q-mark
-
I reckon this is when we'd of finally got a Nepal visit, but not after those recent events. it was far too recent

I wonder if we will get our first Oceania visit since 22 (Nearly 13 years ago!)

Katie & Charlotte have been back online for the last day or two, so they must be our second boot in Madrid.

I was literally thinking how your theory is still intact lol
Probably should’ve gone to S America though since the list of countries will be quickly dwindling.

They do have to go to Portugal first before flying to South America in order for the theory to still be intact.
Most likely Lisbon or Porto, but it would be amazing if they went to Madeira, where Cristiano Ronaldo is from.

I lived in dubai but wasnt there when tar visited....but then it visited ug ,and i was there ...
Am in riyadh now ,just incase they come here .
I mean 2026,2030 world cup venues have been explored on this mostly soccer cast .
Only 2034 hosts, plus argentina and mexico haven't been visited yet .
And morrocco has direct flights to the capital riyadh and is a new country .
Guys why do i think they will come here..The maths adds up .
Time will tell

I think TAR 39 could be a very untraditional route after spending so many legs in Europe the past few seasons. I'd keep an eye on South Africa, which TAR 36 tried to visit and which has hosted the WC.
-
I would expect a return to Europe for Leg 5. I highly doubt we are only getting one European leg. It is possible the race will continue to Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly South Africa another country not visited in a long time that was allegedly on a previous agenda. But there is precedent for a Europe-Africa-Europe-Africa route, but it has been a while.
-
Been a lot of silence. Anything about leg four or five? By now, they have to have run four or five legs by now. Maybe even six.
-
Leg 4 is still in Marrakesh

Yep! No TAR's ever been there.
-
Tar38 was so close to albania ... was once speculated ..maybe after albania its montenegro (another 38 ,spec) which i doubt
But albania close to another M.E country speculated on here
..not far away. Maybe next week
-
In chronological order by filming, the last three new countries visited have all been Eastern Europe. I'm glad the race is visiting this often-ignored region. In 38 visited some underused countries here.
-
If the season is about the flag color red, i am sure the season will visit Indonesia and Singapore somewhere in the leg

"Guess the Amazing Race stops by Albania.🤷"
That must be Daisha & Dalton. The woman's face matches her head shape and facial features. So they at least got to leg five or six.
Who else didn't, though? Any sign of anyone else being back online?
-
Did we see that team at the start ...? Its like i ve never seen these teams be4 lol...
The m ,looks very different from.the back.
-
I wonder if they will do anything soccer related in tirana. Tirana has A soccer team
-
A second leg should have filmed today, and I assume they're still there. Might as well get two legs out of the new country, right?
-

This late in the week? I'd think that they'd have moved on to leg seven in the next country by now.
And still no word from TARHub Discord as to who's out or still in.
-
They mayb in one of middle east countries, thats y no sightings..just like 37....or Uzbekistan coz australia was just ther
-
SRI LANKA!
Per TARHub on Discord and Clubs That Suck, the crew has been spotted on a train in Sri Lanka!
-
Sri lanka ..hmmm..wonder if the snakes from AmazingRace australia 9 will still be there ..lol
-
Sri lanka ..hmmm..wonder if the snakes from AmazingRace australia 9 will still be there ..lol
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they would base the Asian legs to TARAus 9's Asian legs (most of which were fantastically designed though)
-
Anyone think we missed a country between Albania and Sri Lanka? Feels like there was too long of a gap in there
-
Anyone think we missed a country between Albania and Sri Lanka? Feels like there was too long of a gap in there
This was my best guess of the timeline. Could always be wrong.
October 2: Leg 5 in Albania
October 3: Phil records bits to camera for Leg 6
October 4: Leg 6 in Albania
October 5: Production leaves for Sri Lanka
October 6: Teams start Leg 7 in morning, afternoon flight to Dubai, land in Dubai in evening
October 7: Evening flight to Colombo, teams land in Colombo
One flight option to Colombo.

LAOS!
Either leg eight or leg nine is in Vientiane, Laos! Crew has been spotted there, per TARHub on Discord!
-
Some tea from Clubs That Suck and TARHub on Discord:
Cody & Jaime, Dafina & Saran, and Doug & Dylan have all been back on social media, meaning that they all got the boot at times. Cody & Jaime came back on after the second Morocco leg. Dafina & Sarah came back on after the second Albania leg. And Doug & Dylan returned to social media after Sri Lanka.
The Blue F/F Team (the mothers) weren't seen after the first Morocco leg, which makes TARHub and CTS think that they were gone there.
Possible order of elimination seems to be:
13th: Zach & Nate
12th: Katie & Charlotte
11th: Blue F/F Team
10th: Cody & Jaime
9th: Dafina & Saran
8th: Doug & Dylan
Meaning that the F7 is likely:
Anuar & Andrea
Ali & Joanna
Ann-Marie & Riley
Conner & Garrett
Dalton & Daisha
Erin & Javier
Michelle & Matt
-
Michelle & Matt have resurfaced on social media, so they were eliminated in Laos.
Turns out that Laos had two legs -- Vientiane and a place called Vang Vieng. Michelle & Matt got U-Turned out of the race on the former leg. They tried to give themselves a chance by U-Turning Daisha & Dalton, but it didn't work. Daisha & Dalton survived and finished fourth, while Michelle & Matt were eliminated.
Whichever teams finished behind Daisha & Dalton must've been pretty pathetic, though, to not be able to pass them when they were U-Turned.
Also, Daisha & Dalton were apparently U-Turned on a prior leg and survived that, too, which sounds impressive.
Standings so far:
13th: Nate & Zach
12th: Katie & Charlotte
11th: Blue F/F Team
10th: Cody & Jaime
9th: Dafina & Saran
8th: Doug & Dylan
7th: Michelle & Matt
F6:
Anuar & Andrea
Ali & Joanna
Ann-Marie & Riley
Conner & Garret
Daisha & Dalton
Erin & Javier
We're down to five, but no clue of who's been eliminated yet. Social media will tell the tale sometime later today or tonight.
-
First Oceania visit since Season 22.
What are the chances they'll hit South America for F4 and make this a 6 continent route? Are there good flights there from Australia?
-
Wow I cannot believe we got a full leg in both Canada and Australia, two of the most seemingly obvious yet undervisited countries :cheer:
Also with how seemingly they stayed in one country for two legs, would they stay in Australia for leg 11 or do they would visit another Oceania country before go back to US? But the options would be to New Zealand or Fiji only
-
Yeah. Considering how Survivor is staying there forever, Fiji feels way overdue for its TAR visit.
-
Yeah. Considering how Survivor is staying there forever, Fiji feels way overdue for its TAR visit.
They are saving Fiji for the start and finish line for the inevitable All Survivor cast season 🤣
-
Regardless, this is already the greatest route we've had in years!
If they did finish off in South America, hopefully with a country 36 didn't do. Ecuador and Bolivia have only been visited once - 11 and 13, respectively.
-
If teams are on this flight, it's about to land.

Well, damn. Conner & Garret, Alejandro & Andrea, Daisha & Dalton, Ali & Joanna, and Erin & Javier's sightings confirm that Ann-Marie & Riley were out on the second Laos leg.
Standings so far:
13th: Nate & Zach

11th: Blue F/F Team
10th: Cody & Jaime

The production staked 5 F/F teams this season and yet none of them made F4
Edit: Oh well moving on guessing the F4 leg location. It will end up become 3 possible outcome where:
1) They going elsewhere within Australia and I'm betting either somewhere within Victoria state, or Tasmania or the famous Outback region of Uluru/Ayers Rock.
2) Getting out of Australia and heading nearby Oceania countries. I'm guessing either New Zealand or Fiji mainly for the availability of flights going back to US.
3) A big jump back to Asia or South America although it's unlikely due to the lack of justification of going Oceania for just 1 leg especially in low budget post COVID era
-
At least 3 out of the 4 still have a female. So there's good odds on one winning.
-
Holy crap! I jumped the gun there!

12th: Katie & Charlotte
11th: Blue F/F Team
10th: Cody & Jaime

F4:
Anuar & Andrea
Ali & Joanna
Conner & Garret
Erin & Javier
Oh, thank you, merciful God.
-
Ah, nice!
This looks like it's going to be a sports-heavy leg, so I'd be very surprised if it was the one that knocked the soccer players out.
-
Ah, nice!
Nice, indeed! Suspected order was apparently:
#1. Conner & Garret
#2. Anuar & Andrea
#3. Ali & Joanna
#4. Erin & Javier
#5. Daisha & Dalton (ELIMINATED)
It was very close among all five teams, too. They all stayed fairly close throughout the leg, which might hint at a very strong F5 that we have this season.
-

Australia’s sporting capital as Grant Bowler told us nearly 15 years ago, so the locations make sense.
Yeah. Considering how Survivor is staying there forever, Fiji feels way overdue for its TAR visit.
When writing this, I was hoping for Singapore, Melbourne, and Fiji, so I’m still holding out hope for Fiji.
Depending on where they go in the last couple of legs, this could be in conversation with one of the better route.
-
I can't believe TAR is in Melbourne!! I hope I run into them somewhere - where should I stake out
-

Well, that leg is done. Not sure if they'll do a second leg that's more rural or move onto the next country.

They will not be remaining in Melbourne. The source overheard the staff say that they're leaving that location on the next leg.

Christchurch might just be a connection?
The Reddit person sounds like they were at baggage claim. So?
-
I have family who live in Christchurch - if it's confirmed as our next destination, more then happy to message them and send them on a hunt for teams! :funny:
-
If it's confirmed, it feels fitting they would end off with Phil's hometown.
After not visiting Oceania for 12 years, they're making the most of it!
-
Since every country has red in its flag, do you think they'll fly to a US city that's primarily red in their flag? I think we're due for a Midwest finale like St. Louis or Cleveland especially if the show can use their ballparks since neither team is in the playoffs now.
-
I'm not sure how long legs normally take but if the pitstop is already set up and based on the sightings in yaldhurt as it's just about 1pm here in NZ

Might be similar to the Portugal leg in 37. Rural in morning, city in afternoon.

The only international flight out of Christchurch is to San Francisco so they'd have to fly up to Auckland first. There are flights to Honolulu, Houston, San Franscisco tomorrow out of Auckland.

She and Steve didn't even break or set a record themselves. Ronald & Christina from TAR12 have the record for highest-placing father/daughter team at second place. Then Gary & Mallory from TAR18 at third. Steve & Anna Leigh are tied with Arun & Natalia from TAR33 at fourth place, the third-highest finish.
