Eleven new teams begin the adventure of a lifetime as THE AMAZING RACE CANADA returns to Edmonton, Alta., where last season’s winners were crowned. Teams must step over the edge and their patience or precision is put to the test. In Red Deer, Alta., it all comes down to timing and Racers need to find their rhythm. Hosted by Jon Montgomery. Airs: Tuesday, July 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, CTV.ca, and the CTV app, and streams next day on Crave.

What a weird leg. The challenges were mostly fine, but the back half of the leg was a bit of a slog, with a lot of teams stuck at the timing challenge for a very long time.
Wonder how long the team racing without backpacks will last.

I don't even get why Skylene & Blair didn't go back for their backpacks the instant they heard where they'd been the whole time.

A lot of past Amazing Race teams have condensed to one backpack. Is this the first time for one racing without them entirely?

Oh boy...I might need a lot of help with Rebecca & Rebecca. As you probably know, our wiki is still tracking Roadblock completion stats even though Wikipedia ended that practice long ago. These two look identical to me, and the on-screen identifier just unhelpfully says "Rebecca"... I have no idea which one did this leg's Roadblock.

Because Red Deer is 155km away from Edmonton, at a driving time of 1 hour 40 minutes.

It was a very fast paced episode. A lot of the tasks were hard, but they really put the focus on the coaster task largely due to the amount of placement changes. I did appreciate the fencing task as I am a fencer; however, what teams did was not exactly true to form. Teams fenced épée which has the slowest matches of the three main weapons (foil, saber, and épée) as the entire body counts for a point leading to risk whenever you make an attack (the others have anatomical limits). It wasn't the case on the show as it seemed that teams only did offense without worrying about their opponent scoring points, and the professional only did defense. I was also surprised that they didn't call the line dancing task a Switchback (was that only for the anniversary last year?). When the show teased that a team would lose something unlike anything in previous seasons, I would not have guessed backpacks. Steve & Allie are the only other instance I can think of where a team accidentally lost their bags.
These two look identical to me.

That far?! Damn! No wonder they didn't go back! That would've been race suicide!
