We're on!

Previously on The Amazing Race Asia...

Eight teams continued racing through Malaysia to make a daring descent.

Rach & Vicky were left hanging in balance, but caught up to the rest of the teams en-route to Penang!

In Penang, Treasuri & Louisa wheezed through the Detour and came on top.

Rach & Vicky struggled to get along and fell in last but their luck caught up to them!

Eight teams remain... who will be eliminated next?

No departure times but I should get used to it.

Treasuri & Louisa receive their first clue.

Route Info: Fly to Phuket, Thailand. Once there, go to Thung Kha Ngok Elephant Park to receive their next clue.

Everyone departs and Anita & Tom are excited to go back to their home.

Rach & Vicky receive a Speed Bump for their first clue... but somehow the task isn't shown? Whuuuuut?

Teams are now in Phuket whatttt? :lol:

I'm confused but all teams are now racing out of the airport!

Anita & Tom are out in first while all other teams follow.

Rach & Vicky are on the way to their Speed Bump.

Anita & Tom arrive first and find their clue.

Route Info: Teams must prepare an elephant-sized breakfast by getting enough pineapple leaves before riding an elephant back to their leaves. Once their elephant eats all of it, they will receive their next clue.

Treasuri & Louisa in 2nd "There goes my shoes"! :lol:

Parul & Maggie in 3rd.

Rach & Vicky arrives to their Speed Bump which is in an undisclosed location.

Speed Bump: Make your way through a dark cave to find an elephant statuette and return it with the other statuettes to be allowed to continue racing.

Rach & Vicky get confused about checking the statues in front of them but eventually realize they have to search the cave.

At the Elephant Task:

Anita & Tom and Treasuri & Louisa finish collecting leaves and begin finding their elephant. Parul & Maggie finish while Eric & Rona arrives in 5th and Will & Alex arrive in 6th.

Anita & Tom arrive at the elephants first and begin riding it. Parul & Maggie behind them. Treasuri & Louisa behind them. Maggie tells the elephant to concentrate what :lol: <3

Treasuri & Louisa get lucky with their elephant and it's a fast one! They almost slam into a branch of trees but continue along.

JK & Mike arrive as Will & Alex are WRONG With the size of their pineapple leaves. Eric & Rona collect enough leaves.

Rach & Vicky are on the way to the Active Route Info. They're fighting. Rach is annoyed at Vicky for being always the "smart one". Vicky retaliates by telling her to shut up. :lol: <3

Will & Alex get approval for their leaves as Yvonne & Chloe finish the task in 4th.

Meanwhile, Treasuri & Louisa arrive at the bridge and rip open their clue.

Detour: Muay Thai or Untie?

Muay Thai: Perform a Muay Thai routine to the satisfaction of a judge before receiving their next clue.

Untie: Use a rope to row themselves across a bridge on a boat to a fishing boat to receive their next clue. The catch? The rope is knotted and tied.

Treasuri & Louisa do Untie with a nearby Tom & Anita doing Untie as well. Parul & Maggie arrive and choose Muay Thai.

At the bridge, Yvonne & Chloe and Eric & Rona pick their Detours. Both choose Untie.

At Untie, Anita & Tom and Treasuri & Louisa are neck and neck.

At Muay Thai, Parul & Maggie begin learning the routine and both enjoy the fact that their instructor is called boo. "Hi boo!" :lol:

JK & Mike are still at the elephant task when their elephant decides to poop in the middle of the task :lol: Rach & Vicky are collecting leaves and Rach is tired.

JK & Mike receive their Detour clue. They choose Untie.

At Untie, Will & Alex arrive and are forced to switch because all stations are occupied :lol: <3

At Muay Thai, Parul & Maggie try their first attempt and fail.

Treasuri & Louisa finish and they comment on Anita's bikini saying how a bikini is not for the Race :lol:

Rach & Vicky finally finish the elephant task.

Roadblock: Who has trouble remaining still?

One team member must remain still for fifteen minutes while balancing coins on their head and palms. If any coin falls they must try again.

Treasuri does it. She begins the task.

At the Roadblock, Treasuri is pressured to not fail this time.

Parul: "Oh my God, my head is pointed, my skull" and then Maggie says "I Love You". Parul says that she thought of her sick dad to push through the challenge.

Tom drops his coins. He must start again.

JK & Mike finish it on their 6th attempt in 7th!

Rach & Vicky on their 4th attempt! Rach gets up in the middle and begins yelling at Vicky to start again.

At the Roadblock, Eric (Rona didn't do it) decides to stand up instead of sit down to do the task.

Parul drops it with only one minute to go! Maggie comforts Parul who begins crying.

Route Info: Make your way to the next Pit Stop down the Lay Pang Beach! Pick up two coconuts and check in on the mat. The last team to check in here MAY be eliminated!

At the Beach, Eric & Rona arrive 3rd and begin delivering their coconut to Alan. Eric yells at Rona to run faster! Parul & Maggie arrive behind them! Eric & Rona are lost!

At the Roadblock, Will & Alex arrive.

At the Detour, Vicky says that they can't panic and they can do it.

On the way to the beach, JK & Mike's cab stops at a gas station. JK begins crying.

Will & Alex are well-ahead of them. Mike says that he should stop crying and just have hope.

Rach & Vicky are getting nearer.

At the beach, Will & Alex arrive. Rach & Vicky are there! JK & Mike are there!

JK & Mike and Will & Alex are searching for it. JK says that his legs are giving up. Will & Alex pass them while Rach & Vicky are lost searching for the Pit Stop.

Will & Alex arrive at the Pit Stop as Team Number Six.

JK & Mike and Rach & Vicky are racing to the Pit Stop.... and it's JK & Mike! They are Team Number Seven.

Mike says that they're 2nd-last three legs in a row and as long as they're not last it's fine.

Rach & Vicky are the last team to arrive. Rach asks if they're last :lol: Allan says that they are indeed last and that they have been eliminated from the Race :torche

Vicky says that the Race was fun and despite Rach being crazy on the Race, they had fun and Rach is so happy to have done it. Vicky says that he's still happy despite the fact that he hates her :lol:

They toast their coconuts and walk away and say cheers.

This episode was... OMG.

A leg that was actually competitive?

A leg with more than just a Roadblock and a Detour?

All the teams delivering the hardest they have both race-wise and entertainment-wise?

Drama everywhere?

Some really good quotes from every single team?

This leg ticks it all off and frankly I'm surprised at how well this leg worked. Probably my favorite TAR episode in a VERY VERY long time. I wasn't even mad at the boot being one of my favorite teams because at this rate, my favorite team will be EVERYONE. My only gripe with the episode was weird editing in the first five minutes (and a little bit near the end) but it quickly picked up.

Phenomenal episode, can't wait for next week!  :hearts:

I really enjoyed with this leg... The detour was great, the RB was amazing, even the ARI and Speed bump were challenging and delivered

And the teams were  wise-entertaining, including JK-Mike themselves. And they are giving a very competitive too...

Wow. Agree with gamer, this has been one of my favorites leg ever in TAR franchise...

Then watch the season because you have access to it.. This cast is phenomenal. I don't have any clear favorites from here on out.

Normally this type of boot would be season-ruining but this cast is so great that I can't stay mad.

Another amazing leg from TARA5! :conf:

The speedbump was good I think. It had an impact on the team who had to do it.
The elephant ARI was a nice way to highlight Thai culture.
The detour was great! Both were difficult, but I'm not sure if they were equally difficult. I like how we've seen some more personalities from these teams during the detour.
The roadblock was difficult! I couldn't do that. :lol:
Overall, leg design seemed great! Unlike last episode, there weren't a lot of placement switches, but it's still a nice episode.

Tom & Anita sure are competitive, and I wish they'd win a 1st soon. Treasuri & Louisa really look like threats now, and I wouldn't be surprised for them to be Yield or U-turn targets. Their competitiveness was also nice to watch, and I wish Brandon & Alphaeus were still there to match with these 2 teams' competition. :lol: At least I think it's good for the other teams a strong team was out quite early.

The editing in the end is a bit misleading. One moment, JK & Mike were right behind Will & Alex, but their taxi needed refueling, but then they were neck and neck with Will & Alex again. At least the suspense created for Rach & Vicky was a good one. Speaking of Rach & Vicky, they had such a nice race. :torche They were fun to watch, even though Rach could be annoying yet amusing at times. :lol:

No 1st-place prize again!? (:;)

Hoping for another amazing episode next week! :hoot:

Unaired yield!? :o I don't know if it's good or bad that no one used it.

Maybe it was too early to use it.
Next episode will be interesting to see the muscle brothers vs Tom and Anita. The loser could be in a high risk

Do we know where the Yield was? Wikipedia can't seem to decide. I thought the bridge was a probable location.

YIELD was in PHUKET before the Meditation RB.... :duno:
