I'm hoping for good Internet throughout my time on watching the episode, and I hope this will be a great leg! :hearts:
Meanwhile, what if this is another keep-on-racing leg? :stare Because Legs 4 and 6 were, but 8? ??? Probably unlikely.

Great leg please...

TAR [that shall not be named] vibes
-
(Justin & Diana flashback about starting fresh)
We start off with a jubilant day in The Hague!
Justin & Diana are the first to depart to Krakow, Poland. There, they have to find a lady in a bikini at Plaza Krakow to find their next clue.
Travelocity app booking flights for teams.
-
A lot of talk of being prepared -
Did Justin and Diana just get another hour lead?
-
At least this app is giving us a chance to see all the teams at the starting location.
-
BYE
-
Is Justin dressing up as Rachel? Those socks are giving me Rachel vibes ???
-
Cool detour choices. Looks like the Green Team is getting salty.
-
Is anyone else updating?
DETOUR: (Mine or Music)
In Mine, teams have to travel to Kiecswiza Salt Mine and deliver a timber log to a miner. After that, teams must load a cart with salt an roll the vehicle across the tracks to receive their next clue.
In Music, teams have to first accompany a violinist by playing a piano. After understanding the knack, teams must roll the piano to an intersection and play to collect 100 Polish klotys to receive their next clue.
-
Is anyone else updating?
DETOUR: (Mine or Music)
In Mine, teams have to travel to Kiecswiza (oops) Wieliczka Salt Mine and deliver a timber log to a miner.
The second rush of teams on flight 2 arrive in Krakow and pick up their clue on the bottom of their pool. Some teams find their taxis, others are stranded.
Comm. break
-
Tanner and Josh wait for the taxis to come to them while other teams successfully seek them out.
-
Kelsey & Joey, James Earl & Denise, Tiffany & Krista are doing Music.
Justin & Diana, Tanner & Josh, Logan & Chris are doing Mine.

commercial break

Looks like we need to update...
So far:
Teams used a travelocity app to book flights from Amsterdam to Krakow, Poland.
In Krakow's boat/pool teams needed to dive in to the pool to obtain the next clue.
Detour is Mine or Music...
Justin&Diana are ahead doing Mine.
While everyone is just getting their clue to the detour after arriving on the same flight to Krakow.
All the teams seem unable to get a taxi.
Logan&Chris got a taxi to the Mine detour.
Kelsey&Joey got a taxi to the Music detour.
Tanner&Josh still looking for a taxi.
I missed where Krista&Tiffany and Denise&James Earl went. Sorry...
Commercial Break.
Can anyone explain the detour choices or where did Krista&Tiffany and Denise&James Earl go?
-
I like how teams are almost all bunched up by the 2nd flight, but I don't like the fact that 1 team is far ahead. It makes the leg winner too predictable.
Meanwhile, we seem to have interesting detour choices this leg. I think I'll like (or love) the detour. :yess:
-
lol there's a lot of updaters suddenly
-

Justin & Diana take a moment of reflection at the museum with a curator. They are humbled by the experience and then receive their next clue; proceeding to Jewish Quarter.
ROADBLOCK: One team member must identify each Jewish food item on a list and bring them on a platter to serve a table. Their tip would be their next clue.
Everybody crashing and bashing their pianos at Music Detour. :funny: Denise & James Earl and Tiffany & Krista find their intersection and start begging for money...

Logan&Chris passed them on the way out.
Krista struggles collecting. She feels terrible whenever someone would say no. ( I think)
(Sorry my dog is being really annoying right now)
-

-
lol there's a lot of updaters suddenly
The more the merrier! :luvya:
Meanwhile, the detour is great! :yess: The roadblock seems challenging too. This leg seems pretty good so far. :cheer:
-
I don't like the tasks that require teams to beg for money. The violin & piano duet task is on that frequency.

The roadblock is just good. It requires researching by asking people or looking online. I expected more from this task but it's good overall.
Also, the drama Logan was creating... I think it was unnecessary, but she wants to do it. Has any team fought like this for a roadblock? :funny:
-
So Justin was dropping hints in his desire to win every leg :res:
-
Logan & Chris are 4th, and Phil DOESN'T reveal their placement (no shot drunk).

Logan & Chris become the new U-Turn target.
And of course, what's a preview without Justin? Justin laughs devilishly
-

-
Next week on The Amazing Race
The chaos on India make a tight squeeze on Kelsey&Joey
Krista&Tiffany asking Justin&Diana why did they say to U-Turn them
"We are gonna be the ones getting U-Turn" - Chris
Justin is laughing. He seems to be scheeming the U-Turn.
End of updates.
-
That last part was :hrt: and it paid off anyway since it's a NEL. :yess:
6 teams on the 9th leg!!! :hearts: :yess: :hoot: :luvya: :cheer: :trampb: :conf: :hrt: :bunny :wohoo:
I can't wait to see the U-turn for next leg. Wait, U-turn... or W-turn? ??? Phil said U-turn right, or did he say that too during the 3rd and 4th legs?
-
Poland itself was great! I like this episode because of the location, detour, roadblock, and the additional historical thing. The last point tells me why TAR is also educational in a way. :luvya:
-
Yeah, I'm a bit surprised when he said U-turn instead of W-turn.
-
GET JUSTIN OUT NEXT WEEK KELSEY AND JOEY PLS
-

I heard him say U-Turn. He might be mistaken or the speedbump is making it a simple U-Turn.
-
GET JUSTIN OUT NEXT WEEK KELSEY AND JOEY PLS
-
I think this had potential to be a very good leg, but as usual, Justin/Diana domination ruins it. I think it would have worked best if there was some sort of Hours of Operation and they would all go see the observatory one-by-one like TAR 6 or even TAR 20 (does anyone even remember that they had a little sad segment in Japan too?). The way it was all chopped up ended up chopping up the pace/kept changing the emotions.
Really interested in Logan & Chris vs. Tiffany & Krista next week. Really random  but watch it be nothing major/harmful like Keith & Whitney vs. Shelley & Nici.
Yeah, I think it is a Single U-Turn. It's about time but this kind of kills all suspense if the Detour is placed at the end of the leg (which it ALWAYS is when there is a U-Turn these days?).
Loved the ending. I thought the ending would be like Bates & Anthony beating out Mona & Beth, but nope, I 105% like Team Texas (previously, 100%).
-
I now like Tanner and Josh
They proved themselves to be great people this leg!
-
5 episodes behind tbh. Another Dustbin & Diana win still not sure if I'll bother to catch up
-
All the other teams are glam, and Justin & Diana are the only bad team left. Please get them out.
-
Team Texas were such gentlemen. They basically gave up a million dollars for the girls.......................
& yeah F6 legs are often boring for me. The ones with NEL's are usually extra boring.
-
To solve my question on the U-turn, does anybody remember if Phil said W-turn or U-turn during Legs 3 to 4? ???
-
I think what's bothering about this leg was the Justin&Diana win. Not because they won really, we've had teams before winning multiple legs in a row. Dave&Rachel, Megan&Chayne off the top of my head. But there is a problem here.
They won mostly because all the other teams were in the second flight and were never able to catch up. The problem with this is that this was decided on the starting point with the travelocity app not with a challenge or anything. The same amount of effort it takes me to check my facebook messages gave them a huge lead and a trip to China.
:gaah:
Tanner&Josh good boy act at the end of the episode after struggling the entire leg was actually surprising. And I love that. In any other situation would end up with a foot race but because the pitstop was at the ending point of the roadblock created this situation.
I saw Krista&Tiffany run off in another direction after delivering the plate... Did Josh&Tanner called them back to find Phil and that's why they walked to it?
-
Tbh aside of another TAR that shall not be named intro vibes, this leg was a solid leg :luvya:
The detour was very simple yet fun and challenging... I could see some teams really struggled to get this trough... So this was a great detour that we had since done in Paris...
The historical of holocaust itself was emotionally drained, although it was done in first all stars with topic was mainly same (Nazi dictatorship) I think it was deliver
Roadblock task was great because it needed a local interactions and researching and lifting this all the servings was hard and heavy and some teams really stumbled....
The last two teams scene was a moral teaching... I saluted about how despite Tanner/Josh wanted to kick out Justin/Diana  They still managed to help Tiff/Krista and letting they go ahead was a knight gestures and it all paid off that they noticed it was a NEL...
I like to see how things are going in India and I super excited about the U-turn (or W-Turn?) will be unleashed :hearts: :hearts:
-
To solve my question on the U-turn, does anybody remember if Phil said W-turn or U-turn during Legs 3 to 4? ???
Just checked... He said W-Turn.
-
To solve my question on the U-turn, does anybody remember if Phil said W-turn or U-turn during Legs 3 to 4? ???
Just checked... He said W-Turn.
Alright, thanks!
In that case, a single U-turn will be really exciting to see! :yess: I wonder how many fans will welcome it back. :please:
-
I saw Krista&Tiffany run off in another direction after delivering the plate... Did Josh&Tanner called them back to find Phil and that's why they walked to it?
No, they just went to the side of the restaurant to read the clue (then the boys could come in and check their RB result).
-
What an okay leg! :grins: I am reverting back to a drunken TAR after-show review after drinking three vodka shots.
*Note: Some parts of this not actually true, I just make poor typing choices when I have a tad bit too much alcohol.
LEG 8 (The Netherlands --> Poland) EPISODE REVIEW
We start off in The Netherlands and fly to Krakow, Poland, which at first sight, closely resembles Rotterdam too. Too awkward... We are then taken to a pool in the middle of somewhere looking like nowhere where teams chose to get drenched for their next clue. Did somebody on the new TAR route planning cast say ratings fail yet?
DETOUR: (Working Like Miners or Playing Like Beggars)
Although the courage level between the two tasks seemed balanced, I only liked the stuff from the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Even with that said, the mine didn't seem to be used to its full potential giving only a taste of the work field by hauling one log and pushing one cart filled with salt. I think I can do that in half an hour with one arm tied behind my back. :res: I cannot find kinder words to describe the latter other than: Why beg for money again?! This is the type of task that I really can not stand. I felt so sorry for Tiffany & Krista having to offer incentives to finish the task. The piano crashing into cracks and bumps along the cobblestone and sidewalks were fun to watch though.
DEROUE ACORESDETOUR SCORES: 8/10
Trying to stay as sober and honest as possible for this, I really liked the historical snippet of Oskar Schindler. I believe it's a groundbreaking feat for a season like this to take on. I am truly appreciative of this emotionally humbling moment. And then we run off to the Jewish Quarters where we will dance, but not before...
ROADBLOCK: (Who is cuckoo for kugel?)
I thought this would be a nice and very mind-boggling task, but instead, in this day and age, everything is at a hand's grasp by locals using their smartphones to heck the items off the racers' list. How exciting... Still pretty courageous to find all the items for yourself.
ROADBLOCK SCORE: 8.5/10 (It had potential, but didn't Phil say teams had to deliver the food to a table inside the restaurant?)
And we get our athleticism-mance at the end of the episode as Tiffany & Krista and Tanner & Josh fall in love with each others' racing spirits and personality. How adorable! Fortunately or unfortunately, this ends with a non-elimination Leg.
Mozeltov? (Indifferently drinking a shot of vodka)
OVERALL: 8.7/10
Don't like the ratings? In the words of Mirna of Poland:

Actually, Russell Hantz is worse -- the worst that Justin has done is be annoying and totally dominate the Race. Russell was a total and complete jerk who behaved so badly that the second time he faced Tribal Council, he didn't get any votes. Sandra also burned his hat, which I cheered about!

Okay fair point, he's much much worse lol
-
I saw Krista&Tiffany run off in another direction after delivering the plate... Did Josh&Tanner called them back to find Phil and that's why they walked to it?
No, they just went to the side of the restaurant to read the clue (then the boys could come in and check their RB result).
They must've thought the pit stop was in another place, but at least they didn't ride a taxi to another place then go back there due to pressure unlike 2 other teams at the Zimbabwe leg. :funny:
-
Tanner and Josh did a stupid thing
-
I think Tanner and Josh did the stupid thing, but they stayed true and I like teams like that. It only affected them with a Speedbump, and we don't know how much it is going to affect them next leg, so I'll keep the comment whether it's stupid to let the girls pass or not.
This was overall a very boring leg. Thanks to the task, it saved the leg but it was predictable and boring.
Time to watch Survivor.
And to give Diana and Justin credit, they were awesome this leg. Worked well and supported each other.
But producers suck.
-
Yeah, tbh, Justin was not annoying this leg except they are too far in front of other teams. They got luck. Only least than 15 minutes before two other teams but they got the last seats on the earlier flight.
-
Yeah, tbh, Justin was not annoying this leg except they are too far in front of other teams. They got luck. Only least than 15 minutes before two other teams but they got the last seats on the earlier flight.
Yes I also agree. Justin is not annoying this leg and the fact that him and Diane dominate again is because they got an earlier flight. I don't think that there is anyone to blame because they were 1st to release so make sense they could book flight earlier, and it's not what production can control how many teams can get on that flight. I am sure there was similar situation before where just one team got an earlier flight to the next destination (like Mirna!).
Justin of course is loud and very confident in himself, I don't hate him because it's good to have different characters in the cast (just like I like the bickering of Logan/Chris). Their domination is also no one to blame, when you see the remaining teams left, I guess only Kelsey and Joey and Tanner and Josh got potential, other teams seem making mistakes from time to time which hinder their performance. Can only blame that Justin looks really well prepared for the race right?
-
Justin was better on this leg, BUT I'm still hoping that they will get eliminated soon.
-
This is the most boring Race ever. I do hope Justin and Diana get their comeuppance soon
-
A potentially great Leg once again ruined by ANOTHER Justin & Diana win. :groan:
I complained last week about this Season totally losing my interest, and that hasn't changed. I haven't looked at any spoilers for this Season, but it has the most predictable Final 3 in forever. :gaah:
As for the U-Turn next Leg, I wouldn't get too bogged down with Phil's wording, it'll probably be a W-Turn. But has everyone forgot that Tiffany & Krista CAN'T use the U-Turn?? They U-Turned Justin & Diana on Leg 4, so unless the rules have changed, they've used their only U-Turn power. Based on this, I think the preview for next week is only tricking us into thinking Chris & Logan get U-Turned by the girls. They may get U-Turned, but it will be Justin & Diana delivering the blow.
Team Ranking:
LOVE: Tiffany & Krista, Chris & Logan

Neutral: Diana, Denise & James Earl
Dislike: Joey & Kelsey, Tanner & Josh (Their "kindness" letting the girls go ahead of them hasn't affected my opinion of them.)
HATE: Justin

Why would you " " kindness

Even there is no spoiler about final 3 or final 4. Then how can you know this season has the most predictable final 3 ???
-
Just saw it! I actually loved the episode and Green wasn't that bad this leg.... but yeahhhhh.
I still hate him.
Hoping he goes next leg, that laughing from him in the Preview looks like he'll immediately be back to the Justin I hate the most next week :res:
Cast Rank:
Love: Tiffany/Krista (They are winning or making the finale tbh <3), Logan/Chris (Their dynamic is AMAZING <3 Such wrecks <3), Kelsey & Joey (So MOR <3), Denise & James-Earl
Like: Tanner & Josh, Diana (+ points for her being a paranoid tea-drinking ditzy racer in the secret scenes  <3)
Hate: Justin (OMG LETS WIN ALL THE LEGS OF THE AMAZING RACE FANS WILL LOVE THAT... Sure Jan.)

You said that Denise and James were not boring in another thread but then you even forgot them in your ranking :funny:

That's the good point! So I think Chris probably brings up the last U-turn by Tiffany/Krista on Justin/Diana thinking that may make Justin take the revenge on the girls? To be frank since Justin is really good at playing this game, if they get the chance to U-turn they must U-turn Tanner/Josh first as they got a Speedbump as well..
I agree with you too, the "kindness" thing of Team Texas I also don't feel much, they do get the benefit of getting the task done earlier with Krista's help, and the girls did go out the restaurant to read the clue, luckily they got back quicker before Tanner/Josh done reading it, otherwise they may not get fifth place.

Here's my ranking of the teams:

Exactly  I find Denise endearing and I admire the way she's keeping up with James Earl and basically the rest of the cast! But outside of that and James Earl's fun clapping/jumping-up-and-down (which I always love watching  ) there's not much to them.

Oopsies brain fart
OMG though, Phil announcing Tiffany & Krista and Tanner & Josh's placement is ON the Secret Scenes and NOT the episode. Why couldn't they have crammed it in the episode proper? :P

Watching this episode on CBS On Demand and I noticed that in the "The Amazing Race" titlecard there was a reflection of the Eiffel Tower (at about 01:08) and several pronounced shots of the Eiffel Tower despite the shortened credits. Was this always the case this season or is this a very nice gesture in light of recent events?

The better edit could've made Rachel more drunk.
But yeah, why didn't they put it properly? Was it that long? :whoop:

They're too busy shoving Justin down our throats to remotely care
