Who is going to the open start on Monday at Venice Beach?
I'll be there (in disguise of course).

Boy do I wish because I live in San Diego which is only 300 miles away. I would prefer to monitor tweets and post them as live sightings though :trampb:

I'm in Simi Valley right now. But I don't think I can drive myself to that beach alone. :( And it would be awkward to ask my family to drive me there too since it's on weekday. :(

I'm part college student and private tutor and detail analyst. Basically booked.................

No one is available to take me. Everyone is busy for my family.I bus not drive but driving in this case would be easier. I don't like transtioning bus stops.
I will see what I can work out.......

I also did not know where Venice Beach was when the location was announced, but was surprised to find out that Venice is about a mile south-south-east of Santa Monica beach and about a mile north-north-west of LAX. :spy:

The race is slated to take place at the Graffiti Wall.

I live in Phoenix, Arizona. Los Angeles is only a 7 hour drive from here, and my dad and I are going to be driving up to San Francisco for a college visit, but we're leaving on the 27th  :'(

This is like last year all over again. I was on a school trip in Europe and was in Oxford exactly one week after TAR 25 visited  :gaah:

It's a bit hard, but I live 7400 miles away in Quezon City, Philippines. There are Filipinos in LA area and hope to watch the open start.

Wow, it's been a while. Hardly any names I recognize anymore.

Anyway! As someone with some... experience in the matter, I can safely say to you- If it is in any way possible for you to make it happen, no matter how much time or effort it will take. Go. Do whatever it takes to get there, because if you're a fan of the show, it is well worth the experience to either A) See the show in action or B) Meet up with other fans of the show from here and talk TAR.

Circumstances and cash preclude my being there. I have a huge manuscript deadline bearing down on me, even as my apartment is due for the latest phase of the building-wide renovations starting that same day -- and I have to pack up the kitchen and the bathroom as almost everything in both is being replaced in consecutive days, not to mention a medical appointment sometime this coming week.

That's why I asked about the availability of a webcam. I will have online access, even if Lieb and I have to spend the day at the Caribou Coffeehouse to use their wifi to do it.

And if TAR 25 is any indication, CBS should be releasing the names of the cast once the Race is safely underway. (Race started at 3 am ET then, and within a few hours, CBS released the cast list.)

Plan to arrive accordingly! With information from the Speculation Thread from season 25 (http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,29997.275.html) and the possibility that production will follow the same schedule:

timeevent
about 6:00 AMproduction sets up (or is already ready)
about 7:00 AMPhil arrives
about 7:15 to 7:30 AMteams arrive one-by-one (in boats, limousines, yachts, helicopters, something else?)
about 7:40 AMeverybody is lined up
at 8:00 AMteams are off!

There will be some activity taking place even earlier - 7am at the Venice Pier (with "Talent") involving helicopters. So if you want to see everything get here at the crack of dawn.

The sunrise is 6ish, but they can't really start that early because it would wake the neighbours.

LA noise ordinance allows production to start at 6. 6 AM would be the best to to see production set up. Otherwise, 7 AM or a few minutes before would also be a great time.

Hmmm... 1200 miles to Venice Beach. 150 miles to the nearest large airport. I get off work at 7 AM. The start is at 9 AM.
Maybe if I take the shortcut to the interstate.....

How do you explain all the TV shows and movies that are filmed in LA during the night time?

The camera is hard to control, especially if you don't know what the locations are that it allows you to choose from. Plus, once you choose the view you want to see there is a delay. By the time the camera moves to the spot you selected, your time is up and it goes back to a wide view of the areas. Graffiti Pit is the obvious location, but LA PD Division view seems to have more activity.
Is it possible the action is happening out of the view of this webcam?
