Totally!!!
-
They seem like the team that's just so excited to race, definitely love them!
-
Kym & Alli... :meh
Sadly, I'm not sure if I'll even remember this team after the season is over unless they show their genuine personality on the race. They seem like another team who will only spit out generic race talk: "make your way to.../here here here/let's go!"
-
I feel like they will be very consistent throughout the race and not have significant drops and rises in placement.

Cute!

Is it just me or does Kym's face remind me a lot of Marie's (TAR 23)? Even her voice reminds me of Marie. :tantrum
Anyway, they did a little better than I predicted! I was expecting them to be mid-pack around 5th or 6th, but nope, they got Top 3 with 3rd :hearts:

Kym face is more like Amy (TAR23) than Marie (TAR23) IMO.
Speaking of look alike, Alli face also remind me of Lexi (TAR21) but minus the blonde hair.

Loving these ladies! So much fun to watch, loved the Chaplin bit!
Here is their Ep 1 recap!

Interesting....
Inside Alli's Soul Journey
You've seen her compete on The Amazing Race with Kym Perfetto — and now she's leading the L.A. pack, too! We chatted with instructor ALLI FORSYTHE about what brought her to SoulCycle, how she trained for the CBS show, and which mantra inspires her each day…
What first brought you to SoulCycle?
I needed something more exciting than the gym to cross-train for the marathon. A friend of mine in L.A. talked about it relentlessly. When I found out it was not only in NYC, but started there, I was like "how have I not heard of the place?" I must've been living under a rock. It was the best thing I could've done for cross-training and I use it now to prep for every race.
What was your first ride like?
My first ride was brutal. I was taking Melanie Griffith's class on my birthday with a couple friends and I thought I was going to have to walk out on the fifth song because everything in my stomach was going to come up.
Did you always ride bikes?
I've ridden a bike since I was 5 years old. My parents finally let me start riding to and from school in the 2nd grade. After school I'd meet my friends at the park and we would all ride around the neighborhood together. I still do the same thing in New York and Los Angeles today. I keep a bike in both cities because there is no better way to get around, in my opinion. I guess some things will never change!
What inspired you to compete on The Amazing Race?
I tend to say yes to 99 percent of opportunities that come my way even when I have no idea what to expect. I had watched a few episodes of the show a long time ago when it first came out and remember thinking, "They get to compete and travel around the world at the same time? and the prize is a million..whaaa?" I really love to travel and I am extremely competitive. When I was asked to do the show I think I said yes before I even really processed the question.
How did Soul help you train?
HIIT training is my favorite because it kicks your butt and really builds up your fitness level! Kym does a really great job of teaching intervals. To keep up my cardio and build strength endurance, I was riding doubles with her four times per week. The rest of the training was kind of wild and not really fitness-related at all. We timed ourselves putting together IKEA furniture to see who was faster, raced down the street with textbooks in our backpacks and spent a night in the desert in the middle of winter with no tent and just an emergency blanket.
That is amazing. How did you get teamed up with Kym?
She was asked to submit for the show with another female cyclist. Two days after a cycling race we were doing together — one that I actually crashed in and Kym spent six hours in the emergency room with me, then brought me home to take care of me —she sent me a text asking if I wanted to do it. We travel a lot together and she knew I had no fear! Ha ha! We're best friends and work so well together. I couldn't have asked for a better teammate.
What have you learned through your experience on The Amazing Race?
In life, when something is more challenging than the other, as humans, we are inclined to take the path of least resistance. On The Amazing Race, you don't have that option: you've got one shot to rise up to the challenge or you're done. I learned to be completely fearless, confident and support my teammate when things were challenging.
Oh, and that goats milk combined with raw pig skin is the worst taste in the world and that sheep are more stubborn than I am! Beware!
How will the experience affect your teaching at Soul?
Teamwork is everything in this race. If you can't support, encourage and care for your teammate when you see they need it the most, it can ruin your game. There were times when Kym and I needed to be reminded of how strong we were and we had to really talk some sense, motivate and light a fire under each other's butt - I hope to do that for everyone that walks into my room.
Do you have a mantra or hero that motivates you?
I tell myself on a daily basis "Nothing lasts forever." I believe this to be true for the good and bad things in life. It keeps me fighting like hell for the things I want and it makes me really appreciate and soak up every special moment life has to offer.

I think Kym and Allie made the BQs mistake. They thought that they were an independent team who could run a solo race, and got too confident of their capability. When Adam and Bethany showed up, i would have chickened out immediately knowing that we are not getting anywhere with the task OR have the skills that the surfers have.
Secondly, you need friends and alliance in this race with how this race has been designed with U-TURN and loads of opportunities for teams to share important information, be it flights or even tips on how to complete a task etc. Seasons after seasons, we have seen how teams like Weavers, Beauty Queens, Jet and Cord, Brendon and Rachel, Mona and Beth, Joey and Meghan, Ryan and Abbie and Leo and Jamal who tried to run a loner race but ended up backfiring and gaining enemies or having others perceived them as threats instead.
I think all of them should accept the Max and Katie attitude. Even if you terribly dislike all remaining teams, just smile and say hi and remain friendly. It's always better to make a friend than an enemy on the race and we've also see how alliances have propelled teams like Lyn and Karlyn and Caroline and Jennifer further in the race.

Totally agree. Except Brendon & Rachel and Leo & Jamal learned their lessons from their first time on the race and adjusted their attitude in their second race.
-
Leo and Jamal I totally agree. But Brenchel's second race was special in that they were really friendly and then all went downhill after they chose to U-TURN Dave and Whiner.
But I digress. The point is, Kym and Allie wanted to have fun. But you can't be exclusive on a race. Even Jim tried to fit in. Look at how Shelley and Nici crashed and burn too.

Elimination Interview Kym and Alli
Posted on Dec 3, 2014 11:50am
Cyclists Kym and Alli answer your burning questions about their time racing around the world.
Holly B: How long did it take for your backs to heal up from the massage?
Alli: About 4-5 days. I never thought those circles would go away. It was awful.
Kym: The soreness lasted a couple days, but the bruises didn't last. Mostly my skin itched where they scraped it raw.
Kathleen M: Would you consider coming back to the Race for an all-star edition?
Alli: Without a doubt. Kym and I talk about racing again all the time.
Kym: YES!
Jared K: Do you think you would of been in the final 4 if you hadn't done the fast forward, and how long were you there for before the surfers came?
Alli: Yes, we would have been. We had been at the surfing challenge for about 20 minutes. Kym and I were both able to stay up for 2 minutes. It was the simultaneous part that we couldn't get and ultimately led to our defeat.
Kym: It's possible that we would've been U-Turned and still been eliminated. I try not to dwell too much on the what-if's and what-could've-beens.
Mark M: Who would you have U-turned if you were ahead?
Alli: The surfers.
Sandra B: What was the biggest difference between watching and anticipating the race - and then actually being part of it? What was the most unexpected?
Alli: Well, hindsight is 20/20. It wasn't until watching this latest leg on TV that we realized by the wrestlers lying to the candy girls that we had a fighting chance. Also, we knew that we were a target for the U-turn, but we had no idea that the entire group had conspired a master plan. The Dentists and The Surfers were so concerned with us that they failed to pay attention to their own game and totally missed out on the earlier flight. That was funny to watch. Jim is an extremely sore loser. However, when you're running the race, you have no idea what is going on usually. You just have to race as hard as you can until you get to the pit stop because you never know what is happening with the other teams.
Kym: We studied the race before going on it. But while along for the wild ride, it became clear to me that editing makes a lot of tasks look faster and easier than they are. There's a lot of time spent figuring out just where to go and what to do that the viewers never see. As a competitive racer, I didn't realize that patience would be so necessary for getting through it. I'm so used to testing my physical limits that listening and planning was my biggest and most unexpected challenge.
Jenni L: What was your guys favorite part of being on The Amazing Race?
Alli: Well besides getting to run the race of a lifetime and see places I would have probably never seen, I really enjoyed becoming friends with the other teams and becoming a part of the race family. Everyone on the creative team is awesome and I feel very special to have been apart of something so profound. And...I must say, one month without cell phones, email or social media was pretty freaking great.
Kym: Meeting such different, incredibly talented people from all over (both in the cast and the crew.) And racing around the world. Literally, around the world. Alli and I ended our race by returning back to NYC, thus circumnavigating the entire globe! I mean, how many people can say they've done that?
Edith C: What upcoming projects do you ladies have in the works?
Alli: Kym and I are currently working together on a pilot that we are filming later this month. It will be a lot of Kym and Alli adventures/misadventures and in the new year, I'm launching my own online entertainment/comedy/lifestyle channel. Also, I am teaching a full schedule with SoulCycle in Los Angeles and we just kicked off our new campaign, "December is the new January."
Kym: Continuing with my YouTube channel and my racing. Plus more travel! Stay tuned...
Arlene J: Which country on the Race would you revisit on your own and why?
Alli: Copenhagen. It was such an interesting city and had extremely unique architecture. I also like that fact that it is so environmentally friendly, and the people (aside from the cyclists that ignored us) were very friendly.
Kym: I'd been to Copenhagen before. I rode my bike over most of Europe, so probably Scotland. I'd like a chance to ride those incredible rolling hills! And Malta, to party at the clubs.
Katrina K: What was the biggest life lesson you learned through your experience on The Amazing Race?
Alli: Go with your gut. It's usually right.
Kym: That confidence is just as important as preparation.
-
Why is it always only one team member that replies on those CBS interviews?
Anyway, some of Alli's answers were very... honest... and hilarious :funny:
"Jim is an extremely sore loser."
"aside from the cyclists that ignored us"
Re: The girls watching their elimination - Is it just me, or did the people hanging out with the girls (in the background/on the couch) look bored

The episode already aired at the time, so the people they were with probably already knew what happened. It was only Kym & Alli's first time watching the episode itself.

Interesting revelation from Alli's Instagram. In celebration of TAR 25's 10-Year Anniversary. Still one of the best F/F's ever casted in TAR. Snippets of their audition tape are shown on Instagram.
https://www.instagram.com/alliforsythe/reel/C17cZbFPQAZ/?hl=en
Amazing Race is something I haven’t talked about in years.
This summer will be 10 years since we filmed our season, 25. In 2018, we were asked to join the All-Star cast for season 31 but ultimately did not.
It’s only now that so much time has past can I put it all into perspective.
The impact that it had on me was not one that came from appearing on the show. The actual experience itself was simply a once in a lifetime, epic experience that I will remember forever.
But as someone who had been pounding the pavement in search of a creative avenue from theatre, to commercial acting, music and a lot more - what I learned throughout the time auditioning, filming and ultimately watching the show air was a first hand behind the scenes look at production in a way I’d never seen.
It showed me that all you need is a camera to create a story. It was a reality show so there was no script, the story was created as we experienced the world and challenges along the way.
It isn’t much different than creating content around our lives.
The show didn’t change my life, but it was a pivotal moment for the potential I saw for my future as someone who is a creative being to the core.
If you’ve read this far, then you deserve some fun facts about this absurd audition tape…
First, I was 1 of 14 people casting looked at the be paired with Kym. They had originally looked at casting her and her brother on Survivor, but after they submitted their audition, it was decided they just wanted Kym and another chick for Amazing Race.
Kym and I had only known each other for 2 months when we filmed this.
My first time EVER in California was when we flew to LA for finals casting.
Finals casting was a week spent in a hotel room near LAX and the only reason we knew that we *MIGHT make the show is because they took our passports when we left.
We didn’t actually find out until the end of March that we were cast and would be filming in May (6 weeks later).
I played up the roll of the “wild child” for this audition tape because we knew thats what they wanted.
But I did have my fair share of stitches throughout my life.
What a time.
-
So Kym was technically recruited. I did get the vibe that Alli was the less "wild" half of the team, and now it makes sense.
Best team of their season!
-
Fun insights!! Thanks for the update!!
