Winner's interview with Natalie: "I was out for blood!"
The morning after the finale, Natalie fills us in on how she intends to spend her million dollar cheque.
Congratulations on winning Survivor. How are you feeling?
Thank you! I’m still recovering from last night. Including going out afterwards with the cast! I’m still recovering from the cheque… and the liquor too!
Why did you apply to be on Survivor in the first place?
I’m a CBS fan now. The casting director who cast us for The Amazing Race asked us, and Nadiya and I jumped straight into it!
Did you walk into the game with a particular strategy?
Or strategy was to be really low key, and not to expose our history on The Amazing Race. We wanted to stay under the radar until the merge. Obviously that went out the window straight away.
How did Nadiya leaving the game so early impact your personal game?
I was out for blood! My strategy took a life of its own. I was good at executing my moves really well towards the end. Nadiya, not themoney, was my motivator, rather than having the money be my motivation.
What was your favourite move?
One of my favourites was when I lied to my entire alliance about voting out Alec. They didn’t show everything, but I pretended to cry on the beach. Jon came up and I was like, “oh my god; I’m so dumb, I can’t even vote for the right person”. Also, my move on Jaclyn was very fun to watch.
Stepping into the finale, were you feeling confident?
I was feeling confident. I had done everything I wanted to do, and I had handpicked the two girls who I was sitting with. I was feeling good before Jeff read the votes.
What will you spend the cash on?
We’re going to Vegas! I’m taking my family. For once we can treat our parents on vacation instead of the other way around
What’s next?
We’ve been filming three years back-to-back. This year we need to get our lives back and order. That said, Nadiya and I are ready to do another reality show, if it was to happen.
