Michael, thank you for bringing to our attention this sad event. Nancy Hoyt was 46 years old in 2001 either when AR1 was filmed or when it began to telecast on 9/5/01. That would make her either 56 or 57 years old at her death.

Even though I've only seen part of TAR1, this is definitely very sad. :cmas4

RIP, and our thoughts are with her family. :cmas4

Poor woman!  I hope she's at peace as well.  And I'm glad Bill announced her death, considering how he & Joe were at odds with Nancy & Emily largely due to Team Guido being villains.  It means that he probably cares for Nancy to some degree.

Belle Book, all the season one Racers reconciled before season one actually began to air. It's old news, actually. Brennan also announced Nancy's death on FB; I'm not sure who was first to post the news, but it would have been fitting from either of them, FWIW.

Just read that Nancy Hoyt (of Nancy and Emily, season 1) passed away on Thursday.  Here is a link to her obituary.  So sad.

Well, I'm not surprised that it happened before Season 1 aired, but I am pleased that it was all water under the bridge a long time ago.

Just learned of the news, and very sad. Rest in peace, Nancy!

I remember when they got lost in India, and were so happy to see the Guidos at the train station, so I figure, they reconciled during the race. When they got eliminated, I remember the two teams hugging each other when saying goodbye.

I remember them being the furthest parent-child team in the race, until season 12.
