CBS put out a press release yesterday that noted that across the board for the prime time schedule last week from Monday to Wednesday, the total viewers went up by at least one million from live plus same day viewers to live plus three days viewers, many shows were up by 1.5 million; and equally sized increases in the demos.

Hopefully, we'll get to see those numbers for TAR late this week or next week.

Where can I get 18-49 ratings/share rankings for a week?

Besides something like the usatoday Wednesday paper and the la times paper most web sites are prohibited from providing a list of all shows.

Top twenty, top thirty can be found.

To get the full info from the web you basically need to compile it yourself from sites that provide final numbers for each night.

Top 20 shows ranking list in a week is ok for me. I thought I could find it on Zap2it.com, but this site seems to provide rankings in terms of viewers (households) only, not of 18-49 demographic data.

It's great we beat Survivor, but I'm guessing it means Survivor's ratings are way down rather than TAR doing better in the ratings.  :duno:

Note:  DVR penetration is at 42%, up from 38% last year. Last Fall, Live+7 audiences for original entertainment series on CBS gained over 1.8 million viewers, on average, over Live+ Same Day ratings, more than any other network.  This season, we expect DVR penetration to continue to increase and, as a result, we expect DVR playback audiences to grow to as well.

That note at the end is very important. It suggests that TAR is actually getting 12.5 millioin or more viewers as a weekly average, and with comparable increases in both demographic groups.

It does confirm that TAR has beaten Survivor in the weeklys for the second time.

Zap2it needs to do some research.  60 minutes typically on the double header for football sees enormous growth.  60 minutes had a fairly typical decline every 15 minutes from after the double header overrun.

If it was due to Andy the show should have had a smaller drop offin the half hours.

My only concern with the increase in viewers from the season premiere is that CBS might see that as a result of the double elimination, and start ordering more and more of these game-changing twists that I'm not too fond of!

The new ABC show Once Upon A Time had big ratings too. According to what I saw elsewhere, TAR was actually last in it's time slot among the traditional networks even though there numbers were up from last week. Go figure.

The good news is that the World Series will be over by next week and Once Upon A Time will likely lose some of it's viewers. The bad news is that we have one TV and my wife wants to watch Once Upon A Time.   :ascared

In Canada, Once Upon A Time is the lead in (7pm) for TAR (8pm) - which resulted in TAR being the 2nd most watched show for the week after Big Bang!

From CTV... http://bit.ly/uQh2mQ

Final Ratings
11.01 million viewers
And a 3.0 in adults 18-49

One thing people need to realize is how much Good Wife is killing us.  It dropped to a 2.0 in adults and 10.6 million viewers.

Out of all shows that have followed us on Sunday it's percentage drops from TAR is the largest.

It sucks the life out of the night, even CSI Miami does better and the 10pm shows have never done better then the 9m shows.

More important than the 11 million viewers is the 3.0 demo!  :jam:

Patriots-Steelers would no doubt be a big draw on the East Coast (more so than Cleveland and my 49ers which also went over, hehe). So yay for the boost!

About The Good Wife, I think CBS hoped TAR's younger audience would boost TGW's demos but maybe it actually is doing the opposite.  TGW certainly hasn't benefited from the move.  They're doing exactly the same business on Sundays as they did on Tuesdays.  CBS will just have to be content that The Good Wife is not going to be a show that draws in the youngins.

Keep in mind that CBS estimates that the number of viewers who can time-shift viewing is now at 43 percent of all households. The impact of this now amounts to literally millions of viewers even for TAR.
We won't really know what the viewership is for the total audience or the demos until those numbers are available; but the premiere picked up IIRC, over 1.5 million viewers from the overnights or final live plus same day numbers.

the largest part of TAR time shifted audience watches it the same day so the bulk of those numbers are reported in final numbers.

Reality shows in general get watched more that same day with DVR then dramas or comedies.

Here's the final ratings numbers from tvbythenumbers.com

Sunday's Final Broadcast Ratings:
Time    Net    Show             18-49 Rating    18-49 Share    Viewers Live+SD (million)

8:30PM    CBS    The Amazing Race    2.8                  7             10.240

A good week, we stayed pretty close to past weeks despite the American Music Awards being on against us (at least on the west coast where I am).

Speedos = numbers!

Here's the early overnight ratings for TAR. It looks like the holiday weekend brought the viewing numbers way down for all shows, especially TAR. Hopefully they will be adjusted upward later this week.

Time    Net    Show                                                                 18-49 Rating/Sh    Viewers (Millions)

9:00    FOX    Family Guy                                                                    2.8/6             5.51
CBS    The Amazing Race                                                            2.4/5             8.98
ABC    Hallmark Hall of Fame Movie: Have A little Faith 9-11p    1.1/2             6.48

It's weird that Family Guy beat TAR in 18-49 ratings but TAR had 3.47 million more viewers. TAR viewers must be 50 or older.

6.0/9 households
#2 in viewers and demos for timeslot
#18 in viewers for the week.

Well the timeshifted (DVR live Plus 7 data for the 7th and 8th episode are out.  Most of TAR's timeshifting is already included in broadcast Fast Nationals and Final Numbers.  For some reason most Reality shows do very well timeshifted that first night, but do very poorly for the remaining 6 days.

Episode #7
Live Same day (time shifting up to 2am) 9.75 million viewers and a 2.7 adults 18-49.

Live Plus 7 10.727 million viewers  (a 10.2% increase) out of CBS programming only Gifted Man and 60 Minutes increased less.  3.1 adults 18-49 (a 14.8% increase) out of CBS programming only CSI-NY, Gifted Man, and 60 Minutes increased less.

Episode #8
Live Same Day (again timeshifting up to 2am for the first day included in these ratings) 10.27 million and 2.7 adults 18-49.

Live Plus 7 11.266 million viewers (a 9.7% increase) out of CBS only 48 hours and 60 minutes increased less.  3.2 Adults 18-49 (a 18.5% increase).  On CBS only CSI-Miami, Good Wife, Gifted Man, 48 Hours and 60 Minutes, increased less.

Even in those two weeks, the total audience from live plus same day to live plus 7 days increased by just about 1 million. And it got the 18-49 demo back over 3.0.

And it's my understanding that Nielsen is estimating a shrinking national audience due to the economy (now that we're in the fourth or fifth year of the Great Recession.)

The overall decline is slight so far.

We went from 115.7 million households to 114.7 million house holds, statistically not a huge factor.

Final finale numbers

11.715 million viewers 15 th for the week and we beat survivor

3.3 adults18-49 (now that is more like it) 13th for the week we also barely by a fraction beat survivor, also CBS best performance this Sunday.

Season average
10.168 million
2.9 adults 18-49

Versus last fall not much change in viewers 10.939
Quite a bit in adults 18-49 3.3 (seriously being sandwiched between two of the oldest shows on CBS isn't helping.
