 I'm also thinking, along with the rodeo dudes, the "geographically challenged" team, and BB winner Jordan, the "dark horse" pick would be the Team Momprenours, specifically Shawne, who's bio says she's from Maryland, and has a "special relationship with God". I recall one of the moms asking for devine intervention during the cable crossing roadblock. :snicker: ...technically MD would be on the outskirts of the Bible Belt.you're right, the moms seem to reference Jesus and God significantly during the first leg, so it could be them too
The region thus defined included most of the Southern United States, including most of Texas and Oklahoma in the southwest, most of Missouri, parts of southern Illinois and Indiana, and the states south of the Ohio River, and extending in the northeast to include central West Virginia, Virginia south of Northern Virginia, and parts of Maryland. A 1978 study by Charles Heatwole identified the Bible Belt as the region dominated by 24 fundamentalist Protestant denominations, corresponding to essentially the same area mapped by Zielinski.
Since CBS have already came up with the 4th episode title, so here it is
http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,21253.msg511998.html#msg511998
it doesn't necessarily have to be someone from the "Bible Belt" who says it.Agreed. Just to be different, I'll put my chips down on Carol/Brandy.
Interesting time to feature the Moms...hmmm?
Thanks puddin!! :hearts:

We aren't average viewers, this is a spoiler thread. :res:
And I tend to think things like choosing what team to feature, is done not by chance.
So featuring the Moms this week could be that they looked pretty  but much more likely to mean SOMETHING.
As in this is a pivotal week for them, ....or as simple as this is the last chance they COULD be featured.

For such a small announcement I'm not sure they'd care which team was shown.
There is no way they would put a picture of Monique and Shawne for a preview to an episode they don't appear in. So I think they used that picture because the viewer will see that team in Germany.
It isn't the magazine that makes this up Hooky, they publish what CBS gives them. But let's move on now....
Have to throw this out there, then I'll slink away, I swear and leave y'all alone. Since the race does go to Germany, well then, Colette would be right in that aspect. I remember when the race was being run and this was discussed it was easily dismissed and if what she said was correct then do I get to say told you so? ;)
It looked like a Hackett bungy in the promo; they have a German operation (http://www.ajhackett.com/germany/), but it's not based in a particular place/city.

I sense Bunching.
Asking the experts (but yes, I will also check the timeline too :()
Since there is an intersection, is there a possibility that this a double-length leg as well or is it too early in the Race for that?
Well, it looks like in the preview video, that Cait and Jordan are going the wrong way...Is there a boat to get back acrosss the river or do they have to take the train back? :'(
Well, it looks like in the preview video, that Cait and Jordan are going the wrong way...Is there a boat to get back acrosss the river or do they have to take the train back? :'(
It is a subway they have to use I believe. I think that when Jordan says "We are done" it is just a tease and this will be a NEL leg.
It might be a train. I am going to stick with posting videos and articles and leave the detective work to the experts. :lol3:
 CBS hay be jumping the gun here, as this is the ICE Inter-City Express (high speed) Train. ...they will be taking the S-Bahn trains within Hamburg
I suspect that the teams may take the ICE train next week when they travel to France (in the spirit of public transportation).
ETA: mystery solved, the train has arrived at the Frankfurt Airport ICE station, where teams will continue on to France, next week.
So do you guys think it's safe to assume that the pairings are as follows:
Detective/Cowboys
Team Big Brother/Brent and Caite
Brandy and Carol/Brothers
Allie and Steve/Joe and Heidi!
Nice, Boingo! Could the clue have teams flying into Frankfurt this week, then taking the train to Hamburg?

ooops, should have realized that Frankfurt is the gateway into Germany, not Hamburg. :groan: yep, ICE train from Frankfurt to Hamburg. BUT... they might take a train to France next week also... ;)
Where is the pub exactly? It could very well be in Frankfurt.
Just want to give y'all a head up about the beer part with Jet & Cord. We aren't allowed to have a drink just for fun during the race unless it is part as the task. Drinking is against the rule on the Race.
So, drinking beer must be a task.

Hi ... I am new here :)
I thought Caite was going to turn 21 while she was on the race?
I'm a little confused because we know the next episode is in France, so it's not two legs in Germany, but I don't see a Beatles-related task in the previews. I guess it could be another general task, but there seems to be a lot going on already in this episode.
I'm not sure that's a door to the outside. It could still be at night.

I'd go with day. What other light source would make such bright light?

Yeah... and isn't she a little too "innocent" to be drinking?

Man and woman... can't tell if Caucasian or Asian. Asian would imply Joe right?
Just want to give y'all a head up about the beer part with Jet & Cord. We aren't allowed to have a drink just for fun during the race unless it is part as the task. Drinking is against the rule on the Race.I wonder when that changed as we have seen teams drink on flights before.
So, drinking beer must be a task.
If they do, then it can't be a FF without ruling them out, can't be a Route info, can't be a RB, so would have to be a Detour optLabskaus ion OR something only one person has to do. Hope Brent likes beer!!
Could the bungee BE the FF then?? Color me confused
I am thinking this could be in the old commerical room - look at the color of the walls and the lights on the ceiling (I tried to post link to old commerical room - not working for me :'()
The Bungee is a RB? or am I on the wrong trail too!!
Intersection and Fast Forward would mean two teams win it, and the possibility of a permissible first place tie on the leg. (This happened the last time there was an FF, in fact that was the season a team won two fast forwards within the rules.)
The Bungee is a RB? or am I on the wrong trail too!!
That seems plausible. However, it looks like the other half of the Intersection pair do a different task (navigate the trains).
Hi ... I am new here :)
I thought Caite was going to turn 21 while she was on the race?
She turns 21 this month.
could the beer drinking task possibly be a fast forward?
If they stick to US law, then prob not, since it wouldn't be fair to exclude them from trying for it.
And :welcome: to RFF to you both!!
I am thinking this could be in the old commerical room - look at the color of the walls and the lights on the ceiling (I tried to post link to old commercial room - not working for me :'()Actually, it looks like maybe the Red Lounge (known for it's cigars, etc.) (a section of the old commercial room), and I think there is smoke in the picture, or am I seeing things? :colors They look very happy so maybe
I thought that the application for TAR 17 specifically stated that a person had to be at least 21 years old in order to participate. Or do TPTB wave such a requirement for teenage beauty queens?

iwas thinking ponytail.... I can't be sure, but Joe and Allie seem reasonable.
OTHER TASKS: Beatles-centric puzzle, eating task (?)
EVIDENCE: Press releases
Look in the dark?? ???There are a lot of brightly lit buildings, etc. :duno: I'm just reaching in the "dark"
I like Caper's idea. The task would be similar to the Aussie Slang Roadblock. And wasn't there a Sherlock Holmes task like that in London once?
Here is my two cents: Could it go like this- Intersection (roadblock) : teams pair off, one part of team goes directly to bungee and waits for other part of team to complete task - said task is to navigate the subway and find various early beatle locales spread out through the city in a kind of scavenger hunt type way picking up clues to next part of task as they go. Finally arriving at bungee, they must look (from up on the platform)for a beatle-esque landmark where next route marker is, before completing bungee. Teams then split back to individual teams, and next comes detour - eat or drink. :duno:It sounds too much like a copy of season 7 just with the Beatles??? I'm not sure they would do such a thing again.

Speaking of repeats, this leg will start and end in the same countries as the uber-leg in season nine. In fact, they start is about the same place and end a couple hundred miles apart.
Now that's a repeat.

What do you mean? I personally think that the Hamburg episode is a single elimination leg.
Are you saying teams will have to immediately go to France after meeting Phil at the mat?

If you look on the main page for TAR over at CBS there is a picture of Jeff and Jordan eating something, Jordan is plugging her nose...it looks like it is in a bowl...there is people playing instruments behind them, I don't know how to bring it over here so I thought I would mention it in case someone else can bring it over and wants too.
Here you go someone on AABB (BB board) got it....

Cafe Museumshafen
Ponton Neumühlen, Hamburg, Germany
Tel: +49 40 397383 • Web: Visit this site »
This cafe and restaurant on a discarded Elbe ferry in the harbour-museum at Oevelgonne has both regional cuisine and a view of the river Elbe. The ferry with the cafe is located between the old ships and the steam crane in the harbour-museum. In the summer the roof can be taken off for an even better view. If you don't get seasick you will enjoy dining here, but it can get a bit rough. Aboard, everything from breakfast, fish dishes with herring variations and hearty plain cooking, to coffee, tea and cake in the afternoon, and even beer and other beverages for the late night guests, is available at reasonable prices. On Sundays from 11a-2p there is a sumptuous brunch for EUR 12.50.
Apparently white asparagus is also a Fischmarkt speciality. Honestly, looks like sauerkraut and pork to me, although can't imagine why producers wouldn't feature fish, eel, etc.is that garlic??
The "noodle-like" stuff looks too long to have come from a clove of garlic, even a clove of elephant garlic.
Sauerkraut does not smell very good.

Not exactly sure what we are looking for re the Beatles, but here is a video compilation of the Hamburg locationsIt's available in map form here (http://www.lisius.de/). I can't link to it directly: click the center image to bring up the menu bar. Then you can choose "there's a place" in Hamburg and click on individual Beatle spots, or click the map link to see groups of them displayed. The trouble is, most Beatle spots are centered around the Reeperbahn station. The metro scavenger hunt might include non-Beatles stuff.

I think it's time for a comprehensive overview of how the remaining teams will get from Bariloche to Hamburg. First, a few basics:
1. all flights from San Carlos de Bariloche to Buenos Aires (and they are only a few) go into Jorge Newberry (AEP) airport.
2. Public transportation must be taken to get from AEP to the Pistiani (EZE) international airport. Here is information on the schedules for those buses - Airport Shuttle
Manuel Tienda Leon Bus runs every 30 minutes to the Retiro Bus Station (near Retiro Train Station) and to the Manuel Tienda Leon terminal (Terminal Madero at 1299 Avenida Madero) at the back of the Sheraton Hotel at Plaza San Martin. Buses continue to Ezeiza International Airport. There is a MTL desk in the Arrivals area. Buses leave the airport every 30 minutes 08:30-20:00 then at 21:00 and 21:45
We start with SCB AEP and find that almost everything misconnects with outbound international flights. The only really worthy flight that connects after huge delay is AR2674 2145 2350. Teams would sleep near AEP airport and then get the 0830 bus TO EZE. They would then be able to book one of these these transatlantic flight combinations:
BA246 EZE LHR 1315 0705+1
LH4791 LHR HAM 0915+1 1155+1
G37659 EZE GRU 1420 1700
LH507 GRU FRA 1905 1035+1
LH012 FRA HAM 1215+1 1315+1
LH519 EZE FRA 2150 1500+1
LH018 FRA HAM 1600+1 1700+1
An iffy proposition is this:
BRC AEP AR1683 1220 1425 OR BRC AEP LA4345 1230 1435
then the bus transfer (or maybe a taxi to make it a sure thing),
followed by only the last set of flights above.[/size]
The thing that confuses me about the previews for this episode is why they aren't mentioning the Beatles task (if there is one) more prominently. That would seem to be a much more attractive hook for the audience than bungee jumping and beer drinking. :duno:
I do think there is a Beatles task. We've seen enough references to it for something to be happening. Also, someone posted a link to a Beatles impersonation band a while back that had a reference to being on The Amazing Race. The band was touring Germany at the time the race was there too.

I was thinking along those lines also, and as mentioned earlier by others in this thread, both previous Intersections have had a Fast Forward attached to it.The thing that confuses me about the previews for this episode is why they aren't mentioning the Beatles task (if there is one) more prominently. Just a quick question: Is there ANY possibility at all that the Beatles-related task is staged in a different leg? Do they have any significance with the cities we head to in future legs, because other than a Fast Forward, I don't see how this will fit it. :duno:
There was enough media about a Beatles puzzle that I believe it...doesn't mean it wasn't left on the cutting room floor though if other things proved more interesting...we lost a whole leg than way once. :groan:
Remember that we have seen teams have to do a task in the same country before, as they leave the pitstop....
In season 10, teams performed the RB of a leg while still in Morocco (prepare and eat camel meat) before leaving for Spain where we had the detour (infamous tomatoes).
Perhaps we will see something similar here (just spec...) ?? I can see the Beatles task being better suited to daylight anyway, specially if it involves the museum.

We Are No Longer In The Bible Belt" (Germany) — Racers must navigate an unfamiliar and confusing train system without their teammates, take a dive over Hamburg and reunite for a nausea-inducing lesson in German gastronomy, on THE AMAZING RACE, Sunday, March 7 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. so it should be the the skydive and beer comes first and food comes last

I am sure this is in the other threads somewhere...but if y'all haven't looked around the Beatlemania Museum, it is worth a look. There is a press packet of photos...
This would make an excellent Pitstop.

only local Hamburg food that might qualify as nausea-inducing might be Labskaus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labskaus) :duno:
Could be the following: Intersection with bungee roadblock performed by 2 and 2 navigate train to possibly Beatles Platz in St. Pauli. Before jumping the 2 have to settle themselves and look for the meet-up clue and upon completion taxi over to St. Pauli to meet their team members. The intersected teams split and original teams detour to drink/eat. The beer drinking from the boot is not a simple matter, there is technique to avoid repeating the effort. Both could be nausea provoking. This scenario does not include a fast forward and includes a nod to the Beatles. U
Better to have Jeff and Brent jump, and Jordan and Caite navigate, and thus overcome their fears -- this is the amazing race afterall!
How about the Beatles task is just a "find a place" task? Like in S7 when the final four had to fetch their next clue in Abbey Road?
I am late to the party talking about who says the title, but folks in the Bible Belt rarely refer to it as the "Bible Belt." I find the choice of words would likely be from a more recent resident to the area. Just a thought.

:groan: that argument went "out the window" at the waterslide in Dubai. We learned you can't get some people to overcome their fears, not even for $1M. Go directly to Elimination Station, do not pass GO, do not collect $200.

Ahh, like the 2 men seated at the bar interacting with the Cowboys?

European red light districts aren't that seedy. I stayed once at a Hostel in Frankfurt's red light district and it was quite safe.Better to have Jeff and Brent jump, and Jordan and Caite navigate, and thus overcome their fears -- this is the amazing race afterall!
And let two girls make their own way in the dark at night in one of Europe's seediest neighborhood? No way Jose!
To summarize my specs:
Flight to Frankfurt
Train to Hamburg
Intersection w/ Roadblock
Beer/Food Detour
Pit Stop
No FF.

I think it may have been easier to go through customs at Frankfurt. That, or to delay the team's arrivals such that the leg would take place at night.

I doubt that customs would be the reason. There are a myriad of flights arriving into Europe everyday and it would be totally inefficient to route all German flights through Frankfurt (and presumably also Munich, Dusseldorf and Berlin) before connecting to other German cities.
Caelestor, I think you have nailed it with the "leg would at night" proposition. The bungee would have attracted great attention if visible in daylight. There are many fewer prying eyes that could have spotted this task in action and reported it to the world. I don't think it mattered if the soccer stadium, sauerkraut restaurant, beer pub or club were at night or in daylight, but the bungee would be a big deal.
With all the pre-program publicity and speculation about what early Beatle-related tasks the teams were supposed to perform in Hamburg, we sure got shortchanged last night. I have a feeling that whatever task was related to the Beatles after they arrived at Beatleplatz and before they arrived at the pit stop in the club the Beatles first perfomed in it was edited out. When each team was reading their clue after downing the boot of bear their reading was abruptly cut off after "proceed to Beatleplatz." They never mentioned what they were to do after arriving at Beatleplatz and they never mentioned "pit stop". Too bad all this ended up on the cutting room floor after such anticipation of seeing more of the Beatle-related locations in Hamburg.
I don't know why I notice these things but I do...
I think the reason we don't see more Beatles stuff is due to the royalties and creative and copyright fees tptb would have to pay.
It was at least in their minds - as we can see from the failed attempt to hide the Beatles logo on the faux Beatles drum and that they weren't actually playing a Beatles tune
When Mike and Louie check in you can see the Beatles logo, but when Phil is doing his standups its not there. Magic!
Ok ... I was watching the show again .. and if you see when Jet and Cord are checking in at the mat ... there is a round clock .. it is black. They were very popular around the same time as the Beatles. As was I.
