I have had a request from a racer to help identify where TAR is shown around the world. What channels and networks?
Is there such a list? ???
If not, I know that thanks to our large number of International posters, we should be able to come up with a list!

I have been looking without success so far, but I thought that some of the seasons had aired in Finland, but my friend has not replied to my email. I am 99.9% sure that Germany does not broadcast Amazing Race, and my gut feeling is that the smaller countries such as Netherlands, Italy, Finland who often broadcast English speaking shows with subtitles are more likely to show AR compared to the bigger countries who usually dub new sound tracks in their own language for all the shows - such as Germany, France etc. I haven't been able to come up with any links yet though.
I asked my friend in India, and he confirmed that he watches AR on AXN.

For viewers who are in their programming menu, AXN, although there is no novelty (where it can monitor the first 10 rows), but while the AXN this show is running with subtitles, the Slovak unit will make it completely nadabovanou. There is prepared to 26 parts, will be broadcast every weekday afternoon. The first part has already started on Wednesday, June 25 at 14:25.

In Finland Amazing Race is aired by MTV3 (http://www.mtv3.fi); see the page of the show here (http://www.mtv3.fi/amazingrace/). TAR FE finished April, and TAR9 is scheduled to start September. I believe TAR4 was the first season aired, but cannot guarantee I'm 100% correct about this.

For Mexico it is CBS via satellite for the current season and AXN via cable for Spanish-subtitled re-runs. TAR 12 has not yet "cabled" (aired) in Mexico.

The Philippines has Studio 23 air TAR 13 on Mondays at 8 am and Tuesdays at 8:30 pm.

TAR 4 is shown on AXN Europe in Germany: http://www.axntv.de/ However, that's a cable only pay-tv channel, and due to the fact that Germany has history of a publically funded television (like UK with the BBC), basically nobody watches pay-TV unless they offer sports (football to be exact). And the only broadcaster to do that is Premiere. TAR has never been broadcasted on free-tv afaik. RTL, a big private broadcaster, aired a local version of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peking_Express, but that was it. No other travel-reality shows.

hey peach, our local station here called Channel 5 shows it direct from satellite on Monday 8am and on 11pm the repeat on the same day. Seems like they are doing the satellite thing for some south-east asian countries.
Sometimes they do cast interviews with the ones who get booted so maybe you can ask them if they ever got interviewed by this station. Kynt and Vyxsin were one of them and they were very nice to do a voice interview. :tup:

Yeah, it's only the even numbered seasons Seven likes to air out of order (still trying to figure out why they chose TAR:FE and all its America-ness over TAR10. And I am not at all still residually bitter over them removing the hurricane info from the NOLA episode, combining it with the Panama episode the week after, and STILL choosing to advertise Talladega.)
I don't know whether they have US TAR as well, but Brazil's version aired on Rede!TV.

In Rio de Janeiro, it is on AXN. One hour everyday. Last spring(08) they only had TAR8-TAR11. They kept repeating them. Took about 2 1/2 weeks to show a race it seemed.

Yup, The Amazing Race airs on AXN at 9pm (for those with CableTV) and on Mediacorp Channel 5 at 8am (direct off satellite) and a repeat on the same day at night at 11pm in Singapore.
They have been doing this for at least since season 8 (i think) and our local newspapers (Straits Times) and magazines (8 days) always have exclusive interviews with them when a team gets eliminated from the race.

TAR also shows on Arena in Australia if you have Foxtel.
It's about a year behind though, as is the norm in Australia for pay TV showing Free-To-Air shows.
On the plus side, I get to watch classic episodes I missed when I was younger, like the Season 2 finish (Which I saw for the first time only 6 months ago.)

MTV3 in Finland is right now airing season 10 and next episode is the Kuwait episode which will air on March 8. MTV3 has broadcasted all the previous seasons. Season 1 aired in spring of 2003. And the show is subtitled and it is quite popular especially now when they are coming to Finland in this season.

Last nights episode was success. It was the Finland episode and it had over 1.3 million viewers! :yess:That means it is the second most watched TV show this year (most watched is Finnish version of Dancing with the stars)! 1.3 million sounds few for you maybe but it's lot in Finland.
In Helsingin Sanomat newspaper was interesting interview of Dustin and Kandice's taxi driver. In many newspapers and websites was interviews of the owner of the Kappeli café and workers of Tytyri mine. Now we know why they went to the Kappeli café.

I tape all Amazing Races stripped of commercials and the length of a U.S. Amazing Race not including next episode previews (which are about 30 seconds maximum) is 41 minutes. It is mathematically impossible in one hour for the Phillipines to show it 30 minutes faster, but we get the idea of what you are trying to get across.

Unless they play the shows at a faster speed which some TV stations actually do to fit in commercials. It's a sneaky trick they play.

Since way back in TAR 4, shots like many of the Reichen/Chip moments got left out in repeat telecasts, including the bit in the opening sequence where they kiss each other - so we're left with a very strange slow-motion shot of them popping out of the pool. This gay/lesbian censorship has continued at the very least into TAR 11, when the same thing happened with Oswald/Danny's hand-kissing scene in the opening sequence.
But if Channel 5 is bad (I won't be the judge), AXN is worse, cutting entire scenes for absolutely no reason, except maybe to get more advertising revenue (which is strange, since they don't do that many commercials anyway). Out of a 42-minute show, about 5-minutes can inexplicably vanish. What?
So, pros and cons, people!

Anyway...China was airing Season 7 on CCTV, well CCTV has INFINITY sections to it(General,Economy,Arts,4,Sports,Movies,Military,Soap Opera,International, Science, Chinese Opera, Forensic Sciene, News, Kid,Frech,Spanish,Japanese,Korean,German,Kids,Music.............and many more) so i'm not sure which one its on...

Here in the Philippines, The Amazing Race can be seen either on AXN and Studio 23. Studio 23 has been airing TAR since Season 3 (I think, because its the earliest season I watched there). TAR Mania here is definitely up, and even newspaper articles feature TAR (even Survivor too!)

TAR is back to the 10pm timeslot, and we're getting the show about 8 hours after the USA. But i'm not complaining, at least we're getting the show over here at Singapore and it's same day telecast as well too! :D

I can't be there to watch LIVE too. However, a TAR scheduled at 5.30pm allows me to catch at least 40 minutes of the show if i rush home straight from work! :D

AXN Philippines is scheduled to air TAR 15 starting Monday Sept 28 at 8 pm. So that makes it about 12 hours after it airs here.
Guess that means CBS has closed the loophole of you all seeing it sometimes a little AHEAD of us, this time around.

From what i can remember of having satellite it always seems to be TAR 9 that is on either Challenge or Living dunno why they keep showing that season, i remember i kept finding it on the episode planner thinking cool, and being disappointed that it was always the same season.
May have to send an email to beardy Branson to see if we can get TAR on Virgin 1 so all viewers can get the goodness of TAR (also Virgin own Challenge and Living so shouldn't be any issues with rights, unless they only bought season 9).

TV2 (TV2 Zebra) is currently showing The Amazing Race in Norway. Tuesday - Friday every week at 6.05 pm.

TV2 Zebra is not the main channel for TV2, but most people have this channel.
Previously TAR has been shown on Viasat 4, but it was not a success at all, but hardly anyone watches that channel anyway. I`m glad TV2 picked it up so more people could enjoy this wonderful program. I sent an e-mail to TV2 and asked if they had considered making a norwegian version of TAR. The answer was no:( A shame really. The norwegian version of Survivor and a program called "71 grader nord" (Was called "No Boundaries" in USA, only one season though) are programs with good ratings on TV3 and TVNORGE respectively, so I don`t see why they wouldn`t make a norwegian version. I think it would be a success.
I`m trying to get the ratings for TAR on TV2 Zebra.

I think its the season 6 finale today. They are showing seasons 3-13 one more time. We will probably see season 14 and 15 in 2010.
Just got an e-mail from TNS Gallup the company that gives us the ratings. Since August 1 The Amazing Race has had an average of 27.000 viewers, that is a 3,1 % market share (?). But it hasn`t had any promotion at all so I`m not surprised by the low numbers.

MTV3 will start airing season 12 in Finland on January 3, 2010. It will be 2-hour season premiere (which is strange because they always show 2-hour episodes as 2 different episodes and season 12 didn't have 2-hour premiere :duno:). Ratings probably will be good because X Factor comes before it.
Season 11 ratings were bad because it came at same time as Finnish Big Brother. And next Sunday there will be Amazing Race finale and Big Brother finale at same time :groan:
