Title: MXC - Most Extreme Elimination Challenge
Post by: kennyblankenship on August 28, 2006, 07:36:34 PM
I didn't see a thread for my favorite reality show MXC -- i guess "competitive reality" is its proper categorization.  I know people don't watch it for the same reasons they watch other reality shows, but MXC is the funniest show on television.  I could watch it all day.  Any thought on where MXC fits into the reality tv pantheon.  There must be some other X-heads out there....

I watched this show occasionally, it's very funny.  But ever since Spike TV got its new schedule filled with other shows (i.e. wrestling, Pamela Anderson's new cartoon, and Bond movies), I stopped watching it because it was never on.  I heard its coming out on DVD too.

This show is kick-arse. Let's see...the most recent episode I saw was the political episode with Bush supporters versus Kerry supporters with the Kerry people supposedly "cheating" and Bush's gang winning by disqualification.

But like TheCinera said: Spike has been filled with crap as of late and therefore the show is shoved into the late night hours.

i have not watch spike in AGES...not since Joe Schmo...I find the MXC is always the same episode or it seems because the stunts don't change.

I mean if you look at it that way, yeah the challenges are often repeats, and it is mindless, slapstick comedy, but nontheless I love it.

And TheCinera is right...it's only on nightly at 1am, but for for a college student that doesn't really matter....

This is a funny show, if the voiced-over announcers aren't too annoying. The funniest one I saw was the Mosters vs. the TV commercial mascots. Everyone was dressed up, it was hilarious!

You must be mistaken, Kenny.  I usually go to bed before Midnight because I got classes in the early morning every weekday.  And I wouldn't be staying up watching MXC.

The voiceovers do make the show.  Their commentary is the only reason why I love (or used to love) watching it.  And the interviews at the end, absolutely the best!

I love to watch this show whenever I can catch it. I'm glad someone else out there enjoys it as much as I do.

I used to watch it from 9-11 pm. IT is hilarious, my son and I would roll on the floor laughing at some of the stuff on there. Funny stuff.

If anyone wants to read up on the original Japanese version, it was called Takeshi's Castle.
You can read about it here: http://www.tv.com/takeshis-castle/show/28596/summary.html?full_summary=1&tag=showspace_links;full_summary

No, the original version was not as goofy as this one.

what's crazy is that takeshi's castle was ripped off in like 10 different countries...i guess we're not the only ones who like making fun of that goofy ass show
