If you build it, they will come....
-
eh.
-
if the people running down charlotte street were the amazing race, then my guess would be that the starting line is the City Botanic Gardens.... :ascared
but if it isnt then its probably just a local race :'(
-
eh.

i think this brisbane sporler is
a) a local race
b) it is the race and the 1 st leg takes place entiealiy in brisbane(like tar asia 1)

Not disagreeing, but statements like this are vastly improved by a link to the game info or other expanded information.

If we assume that that Legazpi is to be visited on the 19th, and we assume that the race hasn't started yet, I think we can guess that teams will be flying from Australia to the Philippines. I'm fairly certain that Manila is the only direct gateway from Australia, so here are the direct flights for the next couple of days.
Sydney
17 Nov - Qantas 19 - 11:40>19:00 (Stops in Brisbane)
18 Nov - Philippine 210 - 12:10>17:20
Brisbane
17 Nov - Qantas 19 - 13:10>19:00
Darwin
18 Nov - Jetstar 79 - 19:00>21:45
Melbourne
No direct flights
As you can see, Philippines is not a very well connected country, so I'm surprised that it is likely to be our first leg. It seems like teams might have to take connecting flights..
-
If it is Sydney on the 17th they will need to connect via HK or Singapore.
I like this one:
4:25 pm Depart Sydney (SYD)
Arrive Manila (MNL) 3:50 am +1 day Thu 17-Nov
Duration: 14hr 25mn Qantas Airways 319
Philippine Airlines 506
Connect in Singapore (Changi)
-
Out likely endpoint airport is Legazpi. I would be very surprised if they arrived via any other means than air travel.
On the 17th, there are only 7 arrivals. The first six are at 7AM, 7.30AM, 9.10AM, 9.40AM, 12.35PM and 1.45PM and all come from Manila. The final flight is at 2.20PM and comes from Cebu, also a viable entry point if we assume teams will connect in South-East Asia.
On the 18th, we have an extra Manila flight at 9.25AM but no Cebu flight.
-
They had the option to take a bus to Legazpi in TARA too, so let us not count that out.
-
Oh btw, if TAR America visited us here rather than TARAus, I'd really break every rule and be there as soon as possible.
-
Oh I forgot you were in the Philippines! Are you in Manila? Any chance you could camp out at the airport for the next few days?!
-
I am just doing some pre spoilering
There some crazy people runing around in sydney on the 19 th. So unless you see them with camrer crews, please disreguard it as it is a local race
http://www.maxadventure.com.au/urbanmax/
also it has to start in the coming days
-
Is it possible that they'll have two legs here? Maybe in the capital city after Legazpi? I'm so jealous right now. :'(
-
The producers picked a very good week to start, as this is a pretty busy week in Australia. As you might or might not already know, the Presidents Cup, which is one of the more prestigious golf tournaments in the World is going on right now in Melbourne. It is probably the most prestigious golf tournament that Australia has held in at least the last 13 years, so this is a big deal for many Australians. I am not saying this had any effect on their decision of when to start, but it definitely doesn't hurt TAR by not having as many people out and about ready to spoil.
Anyway, I am glad that we are off.

I wish I could have got to Sydney Airport, shame.
-
As Peach pointed out, the Philippine Airlines flight is the only one from Sydney today. It departed an hour late and is currently estimated to arrive at 6.19pm.
We know that teams are supposed to be filming in Legazpi tomorrow, and there will be no more flights today from Manila after they land, so it is likely that they'll need to use an overnight bus to get there.

So who do we have in Manila on these boards? lol. We need some sightings as they seem to sneek pasts us today in Sydney :(
-
Hi guys! Peach just pmed me, and I'm based in Manila. Will they have a leg here? I probably won't be able to go to the airport because it's far away and my car is wrecked, but I'll see what I can do.
When will they arrive again?
-
I'll PM you!! Give me 5 minutes please.

Amazing race in Quiapo , how good to see foreynjer! Hahah
oh yes! Their task is to eat balot @quiapo, the girls in pink were the last to eat and leave the place.
Quiapo is a district of Manila.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balut_(egg)
I don't envy the teams in this task!!
really think a copy of 1st leg in TARA2...
-
is it Qiuapo the same place as in TARA2, where they had to eat balut, too?

Same old, same old. :(
I speculate that the teams then take a bus to Legaspi immediately after the Balut Eating task in front of the Quiapo Church. Its a 9-12 hour bus ride.
We know that they the people of Legazpi expect the teams to arrive by 9 AM (about 8:30 hours from now).

we weren't allowed to take photos. Snakes on their neck, catch the pigs, learn folk dances
It sounds like we have the same Detour as TARA 4:
This Leg's Detour was a choice between Jig and Pig. In Jig, teams would do traditional costumes and dance to the satisfaction of two judges. In Pig, teams would compete in a game of catching an oiled pig. They would have to collect two pigs to receive their next clue.
Don't think they had any involvement with snakes though..
-
The snakes were in the 2nd leg in Malaysia, TARA4 I believe...
-
ok what say in promo for this year saw paris not sure
-
This was my only complaint about TARaus 1...sorry to see them playing copycat again...
-
paubaradi
saw a team of 2 guys wearing fatigue & a team of male and female in pink :) I was able to take a pic but having problems uploading..
Not sure what fatigue means, maybe an alternate translation of a colour?
where they white might there in Australia army
-
:js:
I don't care that they are copying other TARs, I am just happy that Australia has an Ammazing Race, not everyone has seen the Asian editions.
-
soooo what's up?
-
Bout time you made it over here!! :kuss:
-
Franz, lucky ka.
-
i recall on TAR Aus 1 the pit stops were 12 hours right?
if that has been continued shouldnt the 2nd leg have already started by now?? :duno:
im thinking its a double leg, just no sightings :(
-
If they decide to copy tara all this season...next country maybe Taiwan or Japan...
-
do we have any clue who the host is ?

Gettng a small bunch of tweets from Indonesian's about Amazing Race (Jakarta??) Not sure what this is it may be nothing (Even TAR19 on TV??) but Google translator doesn't really give much away either. Anyone here able to help??
All tweets around 4pm to 5pm Jakarta time:
1. "Woaaah yang lg amazing race di jkt sepertinya seru ya. Rame jg di tl. Sampe tkg ojek pun ikutan :p *ampun*"
Translation: "Lg Woaaah the amazing race in jkt seemed so exciting. Rame jg at tl. Tkg motorcycles until any follow-up: p * goodness *"
2. "aku lg mainan semacam amazing race se jkt gt buat alumni itb hehe seruuw"
Translation: "I play like amazing race lg jkt gt se for alumni itb seruuw hehe"

Nope, it has nothing to do with TAR AUS. It's about a local race who has a same concept with Amazing Race
-
"Ooh. At the airport. Just spotted "teams" w/ discernible markings. looks like there's a "Race" of "Amazing" proportions going on in the PI!"
You'll never guess who tweeted it - Rovilson Fernandez, TAR Asia 2 third placer.. So I'm thinking it's us, he would know what the race looks like after all
Rovilson hosted the ARAW Awards last night in Camarines Sur which is very near Legazpi, but he would have flown out of a different airport to Legazpi. I'm not sure where he would have flown TO though.
-
i was texted to come to work tomorrow.
i think i dont have a choice eh? :groan:
kidding! hahaha :wohoo:
they changed their flight peach
if indeed its TARaus :)
goodevening everyone :waves:

Hello guys! at the airport now ...They will be flying today .. The teams
-
So sad ... they might fly with pal again because they have a direct flight " there" sad!!!
Different terminal

does anybody know who the host is? is it still grant bowler
I've been on another reality fan website and there's a rumor there that's he's been replaced by Hugh Jackman, which is a really big stretch.
anyway, is grant bowler the host?

Hugh Jackman? Wow that will be the biggest coup of all time if true!! Well Grant was working on a movie but hasn't Tweeted in a while. There is no reason to suggest he isn't doing it again this year. However any photos will confirm it.
-
It IS Grant.
-
About the whole hosting thing I think grant will most likely come back as he enjoyed hosting season 1

your host for TAR Aus 2

If it isn't going to be Grant, how about Phil hosting.

^I don't think that's logically possible

Teams arrived back at Manila airport (Term 3?) afternoon of 11-21 via Penafrancia Bus.
They then booked flights and are currently on their way to DELHI.
omg god india umm do thing they going copy tar1
-
peach do think Tajhi Mahi will vist i check anything if close or not
-
Oh god...,my stupidity is something
-
You shouldn't talk about yourself like that Declive.
-
Don't worry about it Declive! It's better that you bring it here and we all figure out it's nothing related rather than you not posting it and we let it slip by!
Now let's get searching for those racers, something has to pop up!
-
Fine...thanks guys,let's keep it working.
-
i think they are going to duabi, uae after india (my guess)

If any of you have a SPOILER, tell us who/what/when/why.
If you are speculating, say so.
If you are wishing, take it to wishlists.
-

ZBC,
You asked Peach, but here's a little geography to help with the answer to your question. The Taj Mahal in Agra is 203 km from Delhi. I took a 2 hour fast train ride to make that visit. There are a wealth of interesting vistas in the Delhi metro area, so diverting to Agra is not something that I consider likely.

Is India confirmed?

Yes. Perhaps read the LIVE sightings thread?

Teams got from Manila to Delhi via a huge number of options on connecting flights through Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore or Hong Kong. What was not possible was nonstop flights from Manila to Delhi or Manila to Mumbai (with connection on to Delhi). Here are the choices of flights arriving same-day on November 21:
via Bangkok
PR730 MNL BKK 1021 1249 connecting to CK751 BKK DEL 1743 2030
TG621 MNL BKK 1334 1634 connecting to FD3796 BKK DEL 1950 2302
PR752 MNL BKK 1830 2101 connecting to PR752 (continuation of same flight) 2220 0116+1
via Singapore:
any of 8 flights departing 0600 to 1325 connecting to 6E12 SIN DEL 1803 2138 or to SQ408 1912 2215
via Kuala Lumpur:
MH805 MNL SIN 0652 1033 connecting to MH190 1904 2154
via HONG KONG:
any of 7 flights from 0540 to 1225 from MNL to HKG connecting to AI317 HKG DEL 1800 2059
PR306 MNL HKG 1448 1651 connecting to IT32 1855 2214
5J118 MNL HKG 1640 1938 or CX918 1758 1959 connecting to 9W77 HKG DEL 2102 0035+1 (OK, that's 35 minutes after same-day)
-
At least some teams are believed to have been on PR 752 arr Delhi 116 AM 11/22.
-
Well if Grant was in Dubai I wouldn't be surprised if the race went there.
-
Well if Grant was in Dubai I wouldn't be surprised if the race went there.
Could be a TAR Asia 1 repeat? Delhi to Dubai.
-
So as a very rough and mostly guessed guideline, I would think Dubai is the fifth leg, with two each in Philippines and India so far.
-
Sorry if I missed out on something, but why do we believe Philippines has two legs?
-

Only based on them being in the country for a long time. Arrived 18th of Nov, out 21/22nd.
-
*mixed with SPEC. Don't be confused. *
Arrival: 18 Nov - late night
Quiapo Church (~8-10 PM)
Bus to Legazpi
19 Nov
Arrive: ~7-9 AM
Lignon Hill + Cagsawa Ruins: ~9-10 AM
Finish Leg: ~12-1 NN
20 Nov
Release: ~12-7 AM
after that.... (assuming they copy legs from TARA :res: ...)
Bus or flight back to Manila ARRIVES: ~9 AM- 1 PM
And a leg is completely feasible!

I have them flying out on the 21st not 20th. "Teams arrived back at Manila airport (Term 3?) afternoon of 11-21 via Penafrancia Bus". There is also a Tweeter just today saying there were in Luguna Bay, Victoria Philippines last week, still need to confirm dates.

I am reading that one as TAR went to Laguna before...?? Not necessarily again right?
Amazing race have been here b4. In Laguna- my province :) ) they went 2 Victoria &called it giant Duck?? :P

So if they fly back on 21st... this might mean this is an original leg somewhere out there! :lol3:

Wild Wadi looks like a roadblock (the racer in board shorts seems to be standing next to their dry team member who is reading the clue) and it looks to me like a 'Sorry Try Again' type of task as there is 30+ clues!

Let us assume that the speculation on Dubai as the next site is correct. The nonstop flights from Delhi to Dubai are:

BayBay,
It is a speculation thread. I note from you that "I'm gonna be in the background of Amazing Race Australia in Dubai airport #imfamous"
5 hours ago at 6pm EST last night and from another thread that the Delhi leg finished much later than expected this morning (meaning that it cannot have reached Dubai yet unless it was a TBC). It appears that my interpretation of that information was incorrect as the Delhi leg preceded the Dubai leg.
-
But the leg in Dubai has happened already...look in the Live sightings thread...
-
I want to engage a speculation on where ARAus 2 teams might go on a bus trip. There are two places just within about 250m miles of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir. Either one would make an excellent stop for any Amazing Race.
-
Turkey has been way overdue and I think it's great that TAR AUS is there!
-
Also, last season the racecourse copied a lot of their course off of previous other franchises of TAR, seems this season they are going their own way with a route of:
Leg 1: Sydney, Australia - Cagasawa, Phillipines
Leg 2: Cagasawa, Phillipines - ?, Phillipines
Leg 3: ?, Phillipines - Dehli, India
Leg 4: Dehli, India - India?
Leg 5: India? - Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Leg 6: Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Istanbul, Turkey
(this route is a real speculation of facts presented, possibly legs may not be correct and locations may not be the final pitstop locations...)
TAR US did visit Turkey in season 7, but it is long overdue for them to go back, and I am really loving the route so far for TARAUS2
-
Kiwi, Cagsawa is leg 1. And Cagsawa is a place in Legazpi. So Leg 2 is in the Philippines, but not sure where exactly.

It might be a tacky idea, but I think there would be a high chance of TARAus travelling to Gallipoli/ANZAC Cove/Lone Pine. They could do it through Canakkale or Gelibolu.
-
hy i dont know if is amazing t=race australia or usa so i will posted in the two pages
Lol..I can see a father-daughter team njeRT @Thenji_M: Amazing Race should come to SA.. :)
WHAT SA I THINK MEAN SOUTH AFRICA THAT CANT BE AUSTRILLIA
-
ZBC,
Although I agree with you that South Africa is the most probable, it is possible that South America is what was intended for "SA"
-
should be south africa because the girl who tweet that is from south africa=SA
-
I'm sure that tweet isn't anything. She is actually replying to two tweets about wanting to be on the Amazing Race, from what I think are a father and daughter hence the 'I can see a father and daughter team'.
-
Based on the tweet we may have a French cooking challenge at Le Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris.
-
Great find ovalorange! I guess this is the Pit Stop, and the tags refer to the departure order.
-
Great find ovalorange! I guess this is the Pit Stop, and the tags refer to the departure order.
Are you referring to the little tags on the racers backpacks?
Those are team ID numbers, as in TEAM # 5 etc...nothing to do with orders. TAR used to have them too thru season 16 I think? then we got too good at spotting them!
-
WE LOST THEM AGAIN :'(

PARIS IS LONG OVER DUE FOR THE AMAZING RACE THIS SEAM LIKE MATCH THE INTRO FORM SEASON 1

On local news today and in local blogs http://www.vancitybuzz.com/2011/12/amazing-race-vancouver-filming-locations/ the race teams are heading for Vancouver BC today at 4pm. I will try to get some photos at one of the stops!
-
:welcome2: to RFF, canadianyvr! By the looks of that article, that is talking about The Amazing Race Canada (if there is such a thing). IMO, it's unlikely that teams from TAR 20 would be going there at this point in time, anyway, but that's just my spec. ()
-
Aus is the only possibility, since there is NO TAR Canada. Somebody better go check it out.
-
Not sure why that article calls it The Amazing Race Canada

will proudce say they want visit north american something franchise's never do

I am getting info that teams were seen on a flight from Havana, Cuba to Toronto. Trying to source more info as we speak but they could match up quite well with the Vancouver speculation.

CUBA IS DRANGOUS
Not true. There are no current travel advice warnings for this country set by the Australian government.
-
i have to say this routo has been firece
-
@RichInSydney Anything about the T.O info?
Trying to get more info, not sure about date/time yet either. Also not sure if this would be a transit point to Vancouver or a leg.
Remember this is all still speculation until proven otherwise!

20 mins ago: "There was a gaggle of us waiting at the cauldron for 2 hours, no one ever arrived. :("
A lot of action on Twitter today but nothing concrete. Hmmm have we been lead astray? :duno:
-
Wouldn't be the first time, but this seems very specific. They would have done berrer to wait at the airport, sigh...
-
I waited at the cauldron, and camera crew, producer and security crew suddenly packed up. Over heard twitter and location was blown. Reporter at YVR snapped this photo of the crew at YVR airport: http://twitter.com/#!/chrisvales/media/slideshow?url=pic.twitter.com%2FfvFvZVqM
-
Here is a link to the Vancouver Sun, Vancouver's daily newspaper. They have a brief article on the filming: http://www.vancouversun.com/Amazing+Race+landed/5809982/story.html
-
Agh no way. I can't believe they're filming in Vancouver. I could ride the Expo Line and then the Canada Line to get to YVR. Too bad I have work tomorrow. (:;)
-
If they did originate in Havana here are the probable flights via Toronto. (The only direct flight to Vancouver is from Varadero.)
Dep. Flight Arrival
HAV Havana 07:35 (07:29) AC 971 Air Canada 10:58
Then Toronto to Vancouver:
YYZ Toronto 13:30 (14:01) WS 681 WestJet 15:56
YYZ Toronto 14:00 (14:08) AC 109 Air Canada 15:58
YYZ Toronto 16:00 (16:04) AC 161 Air Canada 17:51
There are flights from Varadero to Toronto, but they have too little time between flights to get through customs and immigration.
Can't believe I missed a chance to see the teams in TO. Depending on the flights they may have had to change from terminal T1 to T3.
-
All this buzz and not ONE sighting?? Hmmmmmm.
Maybe only production has arrived?
-
I waited at the cauldron, and camera crew, producer and security crew suddenly packed up. Over heard twitter and location was blown.
That is EXACTLY what happens when locations are blown and security becomes concerned for the safety of the racers.
Which is why we try to NOT reveal locations before they are underway.
If this keeps happening, they could scrub the whole Vancouver leg. :groan:
-
My Guess: After Canada teams will go down the coast to Californa than down to south america before going to nz for the 1st part of the final leg before a brisbane finsh line
lets see if i can make this 2 for 2 (i guessed teams would go to duabi after india)
i think they are going to duabi, uae after india (my guess)

Cuba's... an odd choice, but no more so than Israel last season. There's no travel advisories against it, and we don't have the weird "you can visit all you want, but you can't spend any money to support their economy" restriction the US has against Cuba.
It does suggest there won't be a visit to the US itself, though.

We only have 1 piece of evidence of Cuba so its not confirmed but it looks legitimate based on location and timeframe. We do have a gap between Paris and Vancouver. Havana to Vancouver via Toronto transit is the speculation. It also looks likely 2 legs in Canada? We may be then down to 4 teams, which would leave 2 or 3 legs left (if there is a final NEL).
US would be a good option giving direct flights back to the East coast of Australia. Also New Zealand could be an option too.

I think tarfly was suggesting that they would not visit the USA because they went to Cuba first.
I've been to Cuba many times and it's never caused me any problems with travel to any other country.

THEY COULD END AMERICAN BESCAUSE THAT TARI DID

I can remember the last few times I've had to do my visitation visas to the US they've asked questions about Cuba. And I know that when I got my work visa to do the summer camp they told me I would not be allowed to enter the USA if I had been to Cuba already on the trip.

By the way, if the Grouse Mountain cable car seen in the spoiler pics looks familiar, it may be because it's the same one Fox Mulder was hanging from in that X-Files episode where Scully was abducted by aliens.
(I know wayyyy too much about regular Vancouver TV filming locations.)

Yes it could!
It looks like TAR Australia will go from Vancouver to Location Removed. Banff. I'm going to have to hunt down the episode when it airs. I love Vancouver and Location Removed Banff!
After thinking it over, I've removed the info until after the next leg has been run as I don't want to cause people to show up and interfere with the filming. Vancouver sounded chaotic and it appears that at least one location was scrapped due to the presence of fans. I don't want a repeat of that. I've passed on the information to Peach to put it up later or I'll do it myself. If it doesn't get posted before then, which is likely.

Since they are leaving at 7 AM and 8 AM this morning (Tuesday) for a 9-10 hour bus ride to Banff, they won't get there before sunset tonight and I expect an HOO. Therefore, most of the activity will likely be on Wednesday.

Plaidmoon,
A Tweeter may think it's only a 9-10 hour bus trip, but I took the train the opposite direction and it was about 24 hours so that doesn't compute. Here is the word on the bus trip:
The distance from Vancouver to Banff is 880 km (530 miles). It takes 10½ hours to drive, not counting stops for scenery, food, fuel, and bathrooms.
With stops for food, fuel and bathrooms, figure more like 12 hours.

I got the 9 to 10 hours by googling for driving time estimates. I saw everything from 9 to 12 hours without stops. I was being optimistic. I figured they probably handed them bag lunches for the bus ride, but they may very well have stopped for a meal and gas break somewhere. The driver surely needed it. I don't think the estimate mattered much since they were surely going to arrive after sundown. I was confident they would have an HOO rather than shoot at night and miss the mountain scenery. Why go to Banff and not show off the mountains? Given the teams were seen running around late in the evening, you're probably right about 12 hours. It may have been 13 or 14 hours.

I love the fact that they're going out of the city! :cmas9

Amazing race at our hotel!!! What the hell is going on
(She's from Alberta)
More specifically, her twitter page says she's at Lake Louise, Alberta. Lake Louise is about 60 km (or 40 miles) from Banff and is another scenic landmark. It's not at all surprising they would be going there.

Australian amazing race cutting through the Fairmont so amazinggg
Fairmont would be The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise...
Probably the most beautiful hotel in the world - especially in winter.

Having driven from Banff to Vancouver before, I would say 11-12 hours is probably the fastest a car could make the trip. The highways will also be very snowy, so there could have been many delays on the way there as well.
-
This is the Fairmont Lake Louise. Definitely one of the top attractions in all of Canada.

I'm guessing Calgary would be a good exit point.

You bet. The only other major airports within about 500 miles from Banff are Vancouver and Edmonton and Calgary International Airport is only about 80 miles.

There are Fairmont Hotels both in Banff Springs (Fairmont Banff Springs) and in Calgary (Fairmont Palliser).

In looking at ARAus2 from an overview perspective, I believe it is about to finish in North America and head from Calgary airport back to Australia or to New Zealand for the finish. In considering the options, the most likely in my opinion is an east coast city in Australia that is not Sydney (that was the start of the race). That most likely means Brisbane. The alternative is Auckland, New Zealand . The most direct and straightforward flight connections to either one are in Los Angeles. I expect teams to do this:
to Brisbane - AC568 YYC LAX 0800 1010 connecting with QA16 LAX BNE 2350 0730+2
to Auckland - AC568 YYC LAX 0800 1010 connecting with NZ1 LAX AKL 2115 0715+2 or with NZ5 LAX AKL 2200 0750+2
Just in case, I am also offering another non-East-coastal Australian city, Melbourne:
AC568 YYC LAX 0800 1010 connecting with V 12 LAX MEL 2230 0915+2 or QA94 2330 1005+2

So soon? There were six teams in Vancouver, assuming one got eliminated there and one in Lake Louse we still have four teams. I would expect them to eliminate one more team before heading back to Australia. But they could of course do that on New Zealand.

And there are definitely five spaces on the sign-up board for the Banff buses. I'd bet this is what's happening:
Leg 1 - Sydney to Manila to Legazpi (11 down to 10)
Leg 2 - Legazpi to Baguio (10 down to 9)
Leg 3 - Baguio to Delhi (NEL)
Leg 4 - Delhi to Dubai (9 down to 8)
Leg 5 - Dubai to Istanbul (8 down to 7)
Leg 6 - Istanbul to Gelibolu (NEL)
Leg 7 - Gelibolu to Paris (7 down to 6)
Leg 8 - Paris to Havana (NEL)
Leg 9 - Havana to Vancouver (6 down to 5)
Leg 10 - Vancouver to Banff (5 down to 4)
Leg 11 - Banff to ???, likely Los Angeles or some other western US city (4 down to 3)
Leg 12 - ??? to Honolulu to ???, likely Brisbane/Gold Coast area (finale)
Looks like we've still got two legs left.

I don't think we're going to have a finale with 4 (maybe 5) teams still racing...
I think we have at least one more leg, if not two, or even three (if Calgary turned out to be an NEL) before the finale
I would say either Western South America (Ecuador, Peru), Japan, or China would be more likely as our next location(s)

Also the Banff Tweet has already been found. Please try leave this tread to LIVE spoilers and Tweets. Post other stuff in the Location spoilers thread. :cmas16

I haven't heard any news, but they definitely won't start in January, because Channel Seven airs the Australian Open (Tennis) throughout January.
Hopefully a February start, but if Season 1 is any occasion, it might not be until May... :cmas5

I think this should be the airdates
23 rd feb- 10 th may(est) = TAR 20
17 th ,24 th,31 th of May = Movie (to keep the 2 seasons separate)
6 st Jun - 23th Aug = TAR AU 2
30 th Aug, 6 th and 13 th of Sep = Movie (to keep the 2 seasons separate)
20 th Sep- 13 th Dec = TAR 21
Good Timeslot 7:30 or 8:30 Thursday nights

I was surprised by the information about Cuba's literacy rate, but depending on how you interpret the statistics it is either precisely true or approximately true. Cuba is rated by some #2 after Georgia (100.0%)) at 99.8% literate vs. 99.0% for the U.S.. However, I find it difficult to distinguish between countries with 99.0% or higher literacy these are all about the same. Here are the countries in that category:
Georgia 100.0
2 2 Cuba 99.9
3 3 Estonia 99.8
4 4 Latvia 99.8
5 5 Barbados 99.7
6 6 Slovenia 99.7
7 7 Belarus 99.7
8 8 Lithuania99.7
9 9 Ukraine 99.7
10 10 Armenia 99.7
11 11 Kazakhstan 99.6
12 12 Tajikistan 99.6
13 13 Azerbaijan 99.5
14 14 Turkmenistan 99.5
15 15 Russia 99.5
16 16 Hungary 99.4
17 17 Kyrgyzstan 99.3
18 17 Poland 99.5
19 19 Tonga 99.2
20 20 Albania 99.1
21 20 Antigua and Barbuda 99.0

I don't think 7 will show any promos in the tennis this time, because it's not a brand new show anymore, plus it won't probably air until mid-may like last time so we still have to wait a few more months.

We don't know that they're not visiting South America this time - the only connection between Paris and Vancouver is that flight from Havana to Toronto, and Havana could just be a connection point in between, couldn't it?

I doubt Havana would just be a stopover, as flights usually don't usually stopover at Havana.

I doubt Havana would just be a stopover, as flights usually don't usually stopover at Havana.
Exactly, and there was confirmation that some local Cuban film crew were hired to help film an episode of The Amazing Race Australia.

It appears teams arrived at the Starting Line via seaplanes:

awesome find ovalorange!!! I'm from sydney so maybe if i have some free time i could check out the area
my best guess is that the starting line was at Lyne Park, the pier is built for seaplanes, there is a carpark right next to it, and a wide open lawn would be a perfect starting line :conf:
thank ovalorange!!! i will PM you if i get any info when i go there
I CANT WAIT FOR TARAUS2 TO AIR!!!!!!! :hrt:

The first TARAus season premiered one week after the season finale of unfinished business.
I speculate this is gonna be the same case for the second season. The 7th episode will be delayed one week because of the CBS broadcast of a music award (info from wikipedia) so the finale should be on May 13. I predict the second season starts May 21 or close to that date.
-
I supposed only 1 leg in philippines. And maybe NEL.
Because we now can see that all teams made to India except possibly Father/Daughter team...
we also got info that last team in India leg is a young woman and man team...maybe Father/Daughter team is 1st out
-
Aaaargh! (:;) :flipper
I can't take it anymore. When will they reveal the cast, this is excruciating. TARAus was one the most dazzling, entertaining, epic season ever (not just for a foreign version, but for a TAR season in general) and imo the only foreign edition thus far to hold a candle to the original.
Come on!

I'm not sure where to post this so feel free to move it if you wish peach!
Seven also promised a bigger race, with contestants travelling more than 65,000km over 4 continents. Two new twists will also enter the game- Must Vote U-Turns and the controversial Salvage Pass, which will shake up the first leg of the race.
http://www.throng.com.au/2012/04/the-amazing-race-australia-teams/
I'm not sure how reliable this info is though, this website is the only place I've seen anything about these twists.
-
Is the same place that gave us a first leg elimination?? :lol3:
-
Not sure what these twists are going to be, but I am excited that TARAus is creating twists of its own that are unique from other versions! :hearts:
-
Love the Must Vote U-Turns, hope it's true! :jam:
If the Salvage Pass is real, could it have something to do with voiding a Race power used on you? :duno:
-
Does this season use clueboxes?
-
controversial Salvage Pass, which will shake up the first leg of the race.
If the Salvage Pass will 'shake up the first leg of the race', I speculate that maybe it is a prize awarded to the first team to complete some sort of Starting Line Task... otherwise it's hard to see how it will shake up the FIRST leg if it is not awarded at a Starting Line Task... :duno:

I think the season will go like this:
Leg 1: Sydney to Manila, Philippines: NEL
Leg 2: Manila to Legazpi City, Philippines: Kym & Donna eliminated
Leg 3: Philippines to Dehli, India: Adam & Dane eliminated
Leg 4: Dehli to Dubai, UAE: Sue & Teresa eliminated
Leg 5: Dubai to Istanbul, Turkey: Ross & Tarryn eliminated
Leg 6: Istanbul to Paris, France: either NEL or Geoff/Sticky & Sam eliminated
Leg 7: Paris to Havana, Cuba: either NEL or Geoff/Sticky & Sam eliminated
Leg 8: Havana to Vancouver, Canada: James & Sarah eliminated
Leg 9: Vancouver to Banff, Canada: Shane & Andrew eliminated
Leg 10: Banff to Beijing, China: NEL
Leg 11: Somewhere in China?: Michelle & Jo eliminated
Leg 12: China to Fraser Island, Queensland: I really hope either Joseph & Grace or Emilia & Lucy win over Steve & Paul if they are my predicted F3. Although of course the top 5 are interchangeable.
-
I just cannot believe they went to cuba
-
I really hope that bootlist is not true because if it is it's like as bad as last seasons :(

it looks to me like the starting line is next to the st george open air cinema?? what are the other SydneySiders thinking??
-
Hey,
I have not seen the Israel version, can someone explain me how does the u-turn vote work? does that mean that there is a u-turn in every leg?
-

That looks right to me supah3ro.
Hey,
I have not seen the Israel version, can someone explain me how does the u-turn vote work? does that mean that there is a u-turn in every leg?
In TARIsrael2 teams had to vote on the team they wanted to be U-turned, regardless of the team's position (ie, teams could vote to U-turn a team ahead of them). The team with the most votes was U-turned. The Israeli version had the voting U-turn/yield in the majority of its first 10 legs, we don't know if TARAus2 will do the same.

Oh thanks Peach, well then the first India leg could potentially be a NEL but I think in the 2nd leg either Adam & Dane or Sue & Teresa will be eliminated, maybe with the aid of a u-turn.

Here's a link to a picture I found on Flickr in smileybrisbane's photostream. I'd post it but the photo has all rights reserved, so I can't save a copy of it. If anyone else knows how to do that, please post it here.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/8774875@N07/7101575405/in/photostream (http://www.flickr.com/photos/8774875@N07/7101575405/in/photostream)
It was labelled "Amazing_Race_Australia-301675" so it came up in my search. However,it was mixed in with a lot of photos of models in swimsuits, so it seems kind of an odd place for it. If these two in the picture are in TAR Aus 2, they can only be the two blondes, Michelle and Jo, climbing out of a boat, but in the photo they don't look like platinum blondes. One of their backpacks clearly has the red and yellow striped tag from the Amazing Race, so it appears genuine. It also has a watermark in the lower right corner that says "7ma". I'm guessing it's the logo for the 7 network and it's part of the promotional stuff they have released lately. It could also be from TAR Aus 1, but I don't know that cast, so I can't say.
As for the location, it's obviously not from the kayaking task in Vancouver, as it's far too cold there in December for bikinis. The background looks tropical with a white sandy beach and a radio tower in the distance. Could it be from Australia or the Philippines? The tasks in the timeline don't seem to match up. It could be from Havana too.

Thanks for pointing out who that was. I knew there something wrong about that picture, but couldn't figure it out.
That's 30 minutes I'll never get back, but at least the photo was easy on the eyes. :inocent:

Heh. He sure likes women in lifejackets!

Yeap!, it's them when they were in Bali, Indonesia ;)
-
oh my god. i just watched James and Sarah's video.
WHY in the world would you wear HEELS on the amazing race?!!?!
my bad, they're HUNNERS.
ALSO:
we know the starting line is next to the open air cinema @ the botanical gardens
and from the promo, it seems as though teams have to run ON FOOT from the STARTING LINE to Sydney Ports Marine Services on BARANGAROO where the first challenge is -
the challenge involves getting their car out of a maze of cars or something
-
from all our promos and live sighting spoilers, it looks as though all teams are safe through the Philippines (leg 1), so yet again our first leg will be the first NEL
the following teams have NOT been seen AFTER India:
Kym and Donna
Adam and Dane
Sue and Teresa
also from promos it seems as though we will have TWO legs in India
-
^And Sue & Teresa are confirmed to at least make it to India, which means one of the other two is our first boot in the Philippines. (Didn't we have two legs spoiled there?)
-
^And Sue & Teresa are confirmed to at least make it to India, which means one of the other two is our first boot in the Philippines. (Didn't we have two legs spoiled there?)
most of us speculated it was two, but IMO i think its just 1 leg in the philippines (route info in manila, then transport to legazpi) and then 2nd and 3rd leg in India, but I could be wrong.. :/
This is my boot list spec so far:
Leg 1 (Australia - Philippines) NEL
Leg 2 (Philippines - India) Kym and Donna EL
Leg 3 (India) Adam and Dane EL
Leg 4 (India - United Arab Emiates)
Leg 5 (United Arab Emirates - Turkey)
Leg 6 (Turkey - France)
Leg 7 (France)
Leg 8 (France - Cuba)
Leg 9 (Cuba - Canada) James and Sarah EL
Leg 10 (Canada)
Leg 11 (Canada - China)
Leg 12 (China - Australia)
-

Leg 8 (France - Cuba)
Leg 9 (Cuba - Canada) James and Sarah EL
Leg 10 (Canada)
Leg 11 (Canada - China)
Leg 12 (China - Australia)
Interesting route, and it seems pretty likely! But if James & Sarah are eliminated on Leg 9, then the last NEL/TBC of this season has to occur on Leg 8 or earlier, with at least six teams remaining, which would be something unprecedented, so that's the only discrepancy I have with that route... :duno:

Just wondering -- is there an official boot order or something that we know of?

there's a clear one in banff, canada, some in India, you can check the Timeline thread.. :readtt:

Well, according to wikipedia there'll be 12 countries (including Australia) that will be feature on TARAus 2. For my specs these might be looks like on the entire legs:
Leg 1 Australia - Philippines
Leg 2 Philippines - India
Leg 3 India
Leg 4 India - United Arab Emirates
Leg 5 United Arab Emirates - Turkey
Leg 6 Turkey - United Kingdom
Leg 7 United Kingdom - Belgium or Germany - France
Leg 8 France - Cuba
Leg 9 Cuba - Canada
Leg 10 Canada
Leg 11 Canada - China
Leg 12 China - Japan or South Korea or Taiwan - Australia

I was surprised by the information about Cuba's literacy rate, but depending on how you interpret the statistics it is either precisely true or approximately true. Cuba is rated by some #2 after Georgia (100.0%)) at 99.8% literate vs. 99.0% for the U.S.. However, I find it difficult to distinguish between countries with 99.0% or higher literacy these are all about the same. Here are the countries in that category:
Georgia 100.0
2 2 Cuba 99.9
3 3 Estonia 99.8
4 4 Latvia 99.8
5 5 Barbados 99.7
6 6 Slovenia 99.7
7 7 Belarus 99.7
8 8 Lithuania99.7
9 9 Ukraine 99.7
10 10 Armenia 99.7
11 11 Kazakhstan 99.6
12 12 Tajikistan 99.6
13 13 Azerbaijan 99.5
14 14 Turkmenistan 99.5
15 15 Russia 99.5
16 16 Hungary 99.4
17 17 Kyrgyzstan 99.3
18 17 Poland 99.5
19 19 Tonga 99.2
20 20 Albania 99.1
21 20 Antigua and Barbuda 99.0
22 20 Australia 99.0
23 20 Austria 99.0
24 20 Belgium 99.0

I did a boot order prediction for the first season and I was way off, Chris and Anastasia was the only team I got right.

9. Sue and Teresa
8. Sticky and Sam
7. Ross and Tarryn
6. James and Sarah
5. Lucy and Emilia
4. Joseph and Grace
3. Paul and Steve

I need to catch this on Youtube!

I don't know why but I felt like TARAus 2's intro is the best I have seen even vs TAR US. especially Michelle and Jo's part.

Okay, since Kym and Donna weren't eliminated in Leg 2 like which we we sure of, that changes a lot. We can narrow this down - the following teams are safe through to Turkey (Leg 5) (these teams have been spotted in Turkey or after Turkey (from promos and live sightings))
Shane and Andrew
Joseph and Grace
Paul and Steve
Emilia and Lucy
Michelle and Jo
Ross and Tarryn
Sticky and Sam
James and Sarah
The following teams were NOT seen AFTER Leg 2:
Sue and Teresa
Kym and Donna
Our next two legs are:
Leg 3 (Jaipur, India)
Leg 4 (Dubai, United Arab Emirates)
so if Legs 3 AND 4 are eliminations, we know who our next two eliminated teams are, however either legs could be NELs

I believe you are mistaken Dubai and Istanbul. Sitcky/Sam and James/Sarah were last seen for sure at the horse track race, while James/Sarah MIGHT have been seen in Vancouver, but it's not 100% Sure.
Which means:
Leg 3 India: Kym and Donna OR Sue/Teresa are eliminated for sure
Leg 4 Dubai: The team that was not eliminated in leg 3 + Sam/Sticky and James/Sarah are at risk
Leg 5: Istanbul: These 3 teams + Ross/Tarryn are at Riske until Vancouver where we have our finale 5
My Prediction:
10th: Kym and Donna out
9th: Sue and Teresa
8th: Ross and Tarynn
7th: Sam and Sticky
6th: James and Sarah
MY QUESTION:
Wiki says 12 countries this season, sources?
We have 100% sure: Australia, Phillipines, India, UAE, Turkey, France, Cuba, Canada, China
If the 12 is true, we are missing 3 countries. Which one?
We heard rumors of England? But do we have proof?

We heard rumors of England? But do we have proof?
We have proof for England at the Gala Opening of TAR AUS 2 at Crown Village Cinemas, in Melbourne a week before the show aired..
You can observe what other countries revealed here:
http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,25853.msg757757.html#msg757757
And don't fully trust wiki yet, it could be written by anyone, if there's no reference to it, then we just stick with what we knew, ;)

So, through all this discussion and speculation has there been any spoilers or acknowledgement of who actually wins? does anybody know for sure or have a good idea.
Thanks

So anybody have an idea who actually wins?

Against all odds, Lucy & Emilia survive at least 3 more eliminations. Let's have some fun and try to speculate how they could have beaten Ross & Taryn, Hunner's Chick and Sticky & Sam. I mean so far L&E have avoided elimination by: a team saving them, a team melting down at a challenge and a team quitting. Will we see any other Dandrew-like moments?
On a separate note, do you think that Ross & Taryn will show regret for saving Lucy & Emilia when they are eliminated?
-
I doubt they will regret saving them, it probably wouldn't have changed anything in the long run. But then again, maybe It did cost them a place in the final 4. Regardless, it is a pretty dumb thing to do in a game like this.
Do you think E and L could make it all the way to the final 3 at the rate they are going? how do you guys think they will finish

I just realized something, very few of the tasks on the show so far (besides leg 1) are direct copies of tasks from TARAsia, I'm sure a few are from other versions but so far I'm impressed. The original tasks (at least I hope they are original) are very creative.
-
I Love Steve!!! I'm Proud to have half-filipino in amazing race australia
Paul is the half-filipino one
but raised in Australia and he's the male and TARAus version of Jessica Sanchez.
Really? LOL NO.

I don't mind that they copy tasks, because it's a different experience every time a different team does it :)
I thought these original tasks were amazing:
1. Leg 3 Roadblock (the ancient staircase) - it wasn't just one of those 'simple maths challenges', it was more of a puzzle, and it took place in an awesome location! I wish all Roadblocks were like this! This was probably one of the best Roadblocks I've seen in ALL of TAR franchises, no joke
2. Leg 5 Roadblock - it was basically a memory challenge, but it was designed and executed very well. From the beautiful mosque to that underwater column labyrinth, it was one of the better memory challenges to watch
3. Leg 1 Starting Line Challenge - bringing a board game (Rush Hour) to life is not copying at all. It's an absolutely brilliant idea! I'm surprised no other franchises had thought of it! It made a great Starting Line challenge and it actually required teams to think and interact with other teams right off the bat

I did a boot order prediction for the first season and I was way off, Chris and Anastasia was the only team I got right.
But I'm going to go on a limb and predict the boot order for this season:
11. Kym and Donna
10. Adam and Dane
9. Sue and Teresa
8. Sticky and Sam
7. Ross and Tarryn
6. James and Sarah
5. Lucy and Emilia
4. Joseph and Grace
3. Paul and Steve
2. Michelle and Jo
1. Shane and Andrew
I hope I get more than one this time
five wrong, I am terrible at this. :groan:
-
Since Lucy & Emilia are going to be showing Episode 9 at their event, I hope that means they are still in the game after that episode! :<3
Just my speculation, though! ;)
-
11 Kym and Donna
10 Adam and Dane
9 Sticky and Sam
8 Sue and Teresa
7 Ross and Tarryn
6 James and Sarah
5 Shane and Andrew
4 Michelle and Jo
3 Paul and Steve
2 Joseph and Grace
1 Lucy and Emilia :hoot:

Don't be disappointed, you still managed to get the first five teams eliminated. (And you might get number 6 exactly right)

I've been watching the first nine episodes of this season, thinking 'how on earth do these Italian Sisters survive until the Final Five?' and I just couldn't see how they would do it.
Now that they're here, I'm going to start having heart failure every time something goes wrong for them, because we don't know if they survive any of the remaining legs!
If we didn't know they were Final Five, I think I might've had heart failure at least ten times per episode so far.

Double that, since Emilia done 5 Roadblocks already, that means Lucy will have to do the rest :'(
-
I can't believe that we're at the Final Five and only one remaining team has actually won a leg... :oh
-
My Prediction after watching the preview....
btw, so starting from 8/13/2012, we will have 3 consecutive nights of amazing race?
5. Shane and Andrew (least in the preview)
4. Lucy and Emilia
3. Joseph and Grace (their confessionals make me believe that they are at least in top 3)
2. Paul and Steve (since every team is all about getting alpha males out, I don't know if they can succeed or not)
WINNER. Michelle and Jo (kinda obvious)

i hope the rest roadblocks are wrestling a bear, wrestling a tiger and wrestling a lion LOL

Interesting choice of roadblocks.

As long as it's not log-rolling, I think they still have a chance!

Here are the caps of the scene where Michelle and Jo lose their passport
I thought it was Delhi or Dubai airport but it can't be unless it was edited out, which I doubt Channel 7 would do because they're desperate
If someone could iD the airport it could help us a lot, but it could be very hard to nail down...
I've attached a photo of Delhi Airport departure hall which I THINK is the location. Then it would've been Episode 4 when they lost it

That looks like a match to me, supah3ro. But I also find it strange that something like that would be edited out... ???

Exactly what I'm thinking... obviously they found it because they're still racing but its odd the editors wouldn't have thrown it in.. maybe not enough time??
But they did show Nathan & Tyler's stuff getting stolen en route to Poland last season... I guess we have more unanswered questions :(

Jo replied to my 'Congratulations' message on FB in less than 12 hours  :hrt: I asked her in my message about the passport incident, and she confirmed it happened. This is her reply (this is not the whole message)
