What could be better than all our favorite racers gathered in one place to celebrate 10 years of TAR??
Not much!!
It is a beautiful sunny Miami morning today....
But last night, friends gathered at the absolutely BEAUTIFUL Sagamore Hotel for an evening of cocktails, reunions, and conversation under the stars!
I am sure there will be pictures around, so feel free to share them here....in this case we will allow FB pictues of the events...except of me!! :lol3:

I'll add pics later, but wanted to pop in and say what a great time everyone is having in Miami! Today was mostly spent by the pool of the lovely LOEW'S Hotel chatting and catching up with Racers. Everywhere you looked there seemed to be another group. Such fun! All of the Racers really seem to be having a blast reconnecting with each other, or in many cases finally meeting for the first time.
All of the Racers gathered together on the lawn of the hotel for a fabulous group shot, what a sight!!

Its being compiled. It was hard to do while we were there, because everywhere you looked there were Racers, so it seemed like everybody was there. But now that my brain is working a little better, its easier to recognize who was not there. Whoever didnt attend missed a hell of a weekend!
Working on pics. Got a ton. Any special requests?

Peach has already posted the BEST pic of Jeff & Jordan, but Im sure there are more. Rob & Amber only came to the "official" party on Saturday night (to which we were not invited (:;)) so I never saw them. Nat & Kat also werent around much, but Im sure I have at least one pic of them. GT, G/M & Z/J however there are tons of pics of. I'll get some up soon!

Having trouble with pics at the airport, so for now, how about a quick recap?
The weekend started off with a viewing of The Ride on Friday night. Quite a few Racers attended. Im sure this is not a complete list, but specifically I remember Anita/Arthur, Kent/Vyxsen, Air Steve, Gerard, Clown Al, Rachel (S17) Jonathon Baker & Ray/Deana. (help me here Peach & Chateau!) The movie was great and Phil was charming as always in his Q&A,
Afterwards, the party moved to the outrageous Sagamore Hotel for an outside cocktail party. Way too many Racers to mention, but suffice it to say, it was a fans dream to be there with Racers from every season. We were outside on a beautiful night, next to the pool in the hotels "Video Garden" and it was the perfect spot to begin the weekend festivities. The party was scheduled to end around midnight, but went until almost 2 AM. Everyone seemed to be having a great time reconnecting with old friends, or meeting new ones and comparing stories and memories. It was a fun, laughter (& booze) filled evening.
Saturday was a hangout day. Since most of the guests were all staying at the LOWES hotel, the pool area became the place to be. By midday, we had basically taken over one part of the pool area, and there were just groups of people mingling and socializing all over. Everyone was so friendy and welcoming, and it was truly a fabulous afternoon. So much fun, and great weather too! (and since TAR has a habit of casting really pretty people, seeing everyone in their bathing suits wasnt so bad :-[.
BVM & Elise were there mingling as well, and although it took me a while to gather the courage, I fianlly did approach him and introduce myself. He was very nice & engaging and really not scary at all. :lol:

Awesome! After clicking the photo and making it larger, I'm glad to say I could recognize nearly ever racer in that photo! But there's a few I just can't figure out for the life of me, and it's starting to really bother me!
If anyone can help:
Bottom left: Who is the tiny girl with the sunglasses standing behind Drew (TAR1)? And who is the guy with the blue collared shirt standing behind her who looks like he's saying something to Rachel (TAR17)? And is that Margarita wearing the pink shirt standing behind Karyn (TAR1)?
Middle back: Who is the guy wearing the white shirt behind Teri & Ian and standing next to Tina (TAR13)?
And just to confirm, is that Reichen standing between Cyndi & Russell and Brennan in the bottom left of the photo? And is that Chris (TAR4) standing in the very top left corner next to Steve (TAR4)? And way in the back, is that Tyler (TAR10) in between Starr (TAR13) and Eric (TAR9)? And is that Jeremy (TAR9) showing us the side of his head behind Starr?

I'm impressed with how many teams showed up! Looks like a great event. There are way more racers out there when you think about it.
I love seeing all of them and being reminded of some teams I had not thought of in a while.

From the names on there, these are among the Racers who I don't see (other than the ones who went to the wedding):
Season 1: David (which I can understand since Margaretta passed away a couple of years ago); Frank;
Season 4: David and Jeff; Reichen
Season 6: Jon and Kris
As I mentioned in the past, there have been 390 Racers. It was interesting to see that some of the divorced or split-up couples showed up, and in other instances one or the other didn't. It also looks as if many of the Family Edition teams didn't show, including the Linzes.
Still looks to be a great turn out.

How DID he get in there?! Haha, I would have called him out if I was there. Anyone else think the other mystery twosome are random wanderers as well? I was thinking maybe they were kids from the Family Edition who've since grown up? But I think they might be random too... :umn:
Now we know who was there based on the group picture, and based on other photo evidence, we know Rob & Amber, Danielle and Kandice were there. So did any of you who attended see or meet any other racers that nobody's mentioned yet?
Surprised Oswald and Danny weren't there. Don't they live in or near Miami or something? And I wish Charla & Mirna, David & Mary, Brook & Claire, the Bowling Moms, Gus & Hera, Ryan & Chuck and Nancy & Emily were in the group shot! They were some of my favorites!

Just curious, how did you get 390? Out of the 16 of 18 Races that included new racers, I only count 378. And I remember 378 because I was disappointed that TAR18 brought in old racers instead of new ones that would have brought the number of racers to an even 400 (assuming there were 11 new teams). Guess we'll have to wait until the Fall for that to happen!

I am disappointed that my favorite season (5) had the lowest turnout.
For those in the know, were the flights, lodging, and food provided free by the organizers? If they were, I'm kind of surprised there wasn't a higher turnout. The venue looked spectacular.

There have been 378 racers in the 18 TAR's. As best as I can tell there are 141 racers in the picture (and 3 intruders!). There were also 8 other racers at the event but not in the picture (Danny, Amber, Rob, Monica, Joseph, Danielle, Kandice, Jenna).

Finally!! Its taken me awhile to catch up on some much needed sleep and take care of some "real life" stuff, so I apologize for the delay. Can I make it up to you with some bathing suit shots?! These are pics taken at the "Pool Party" on Sat afternoon. This was a really fun afternoon of hanging out by the pool as everyone got reconnected.
