Well, somebody saw something (http://www.flickr.com/photos/bugtom/753296017/in/photostream/). There's a clue box on the left, and the Fountain of Wealth on the right (didn't TARA already go there?). It was uploaded today, but I've forgotten how to check the exif at Flickr to confirm the dates. TARA2 should still be in the interview process, anyway.
I'm not sure what it is. I've checked TARA1 video and the Suntec sequence for them was at night (also, the cluebox--kmz attached--was in a different location). Could it be US TAR? US racers like to wear matching outfits. Fwiw, here's the blog entry (http://www.thanachart.net/?p=85) (same photos).
Zab's away for a month. She finished producing for "Project Runway Malaysia" 2 weeks ago. She had very few hours of sleep each night and I would see her every second day for a few minutes before she'd head off to sleep. Now she's been gone for a week flying around the world working for " The Amazing Race Asia" as a Producer. I get an email from her every few days to say that she is safe and even more tired than she was when doing Project Runway. 3 more weeks to go and it's going to feel a lot longer than that. The name sounded familiar. It turns out the blogger, Jason Armstrong, is the husband of...guess who (http://www.flickr.com/photos/shutupyourface/52984648/)? ;D
Amazing Race Asia 2 - Manila Leg
kaninang hapon naabutan ko ang isa sa mga tasks (2nd leg) ng ARA2...I'm not sure how the blogger knew it was the second leg; maybe he overheard something or maybe, like me, he guessed.
I saw a task of ARA2 this afternoon along Rizal Avenue, at the Carreido LRT Station. The tasks: find the shoe amongst 100 pairs that has no matching opposite, and assemble a bicycle.
Marc Nelson, who is the only person who went to the Philippines, says he only saw three matching pairs of shoes. He is the first team.
Good luck to Team Philippines. I hope you win this time!
No one I personally know from Malaysia made the cut (and I know a looot of people who did..). And after the TAR ASS spoiling stint, I'm pretty sure they're being EXTRA careful about filming it here. Don't think they'll be stopping by here in Malaysia, but we'll continue on the look out. Good job everyone!
7 days ago, Michael McKay says:
To all of the fans of TARA who missed out on selection, I'm sorry you didn't make it this time around. As I've said before, it is as much about the mix so you should consider trying again for season three.
Right now we are all working very hard on the Race and I can assure you TARA2, when it screens later in the year, will be well worth the wait. It really will be an amazing series and I'm certain the fans will love it.
The Amazing Race (USA) will also be back for a 12th season so there's plenty of racing coming up on AXN. Enjoy!

Re: Re: Amazing Race Asia 2 Spoilers
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, I'm shocked to say that I apparently have a spoiler and about a show I don't follow at all--Asian AR....
A person who used to work in my office just e-mailed me from Budapest where she's visiting relatives. She used to endure the weekly discussions of the Amazing Race with a smile that indicated we were totally demented.
So, from the e-mail dated today, July 22:
Quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The other day we were at Heroes Square and there were people dressed in graduate garb under each hero statue. Two girls with backpacks were running around trying to pronounce the names of the heroes correctly and the graduates were judging whether they pronounced the names correctly. There was also a camera following the girls around. I was asked by one of the girls how to pronounce a name (Mátyás) and was later asked to sign a waiver in case I got on TV. It turned out to be some sort of Asian Amazing Race. I thought of you guys :)
Two different blogs--one dated the 13th (here (http://hfairchild.blogspot.com/2007/07/hells-gate-rotorua-nz.html)) and one dated the 14th (here (http://roadrunnr.livejournal.com/31510.html))--about teams and crews transiting Rotorua. No mention of which particular TAR, but I'll assume it's TARA.
i found this today
http://www.flickr.com/photos/robertgarcia/832645844/
Peach gets credit for these, because she suggested I look at Prague. Two blog sightings:Is it possible both crews went to the same city? ???
- Dated 25 July (http://sohmelvin.blogspot.com/2007/07/euro-summer-2007-trip.html), mentions TARA, AXN, and the Philippine couple
- Dated 18 July (http://emmammemma.vox.com/library/post/july-18---prague.html), mentions Hradcany castle (http://www.virtualtravel.cz/prague-hradcany.html), photos (but no photos :'( )
Before that, actually is this friday (Fri 13), I am leaving for Munich for 3 days (13, 14, 15 or 14, 15, 16), then head to Prague, Bratislava and Vienna for another 3 days, (16,17,18 or 17,18, 19)
Re: Amazing Race in Prague
I'm happy to help as much as I can, I just hope I can remember something good!
The date we saw them was the 17th of July, the time would have been between 10am and 10.30am. It was at the Hradcany Castle Area, outside the entrance to Prague Castle, right below a big, green, ornamental lamp post.
The two contestants were Asian, as were two others who arrived shortly after we saw them. The other two were both male, tall and one had a brown bandana/headscarf on. So I'm guessing it was TAR Asia.
I assumed the guy with the blue backpack was a producer or something. The same goes for the woman in the red and white striped shirt. She was the one who told us off for taking photos.
Intersection in Prague...
most probably Prague's Leg is Final 6 or Final 4
so far , in the pic - 1 male team
from other blog - 1 couple team (Philipine team)
so - we still have others 4 or 2 team
Latest update, they are finishing soon....
:jumpy: Good Stuff peach & Slowhatch!! and peach's please tell Emma that we thank her for sharing her awesome pictures with us :thankyou:
Hi! All Detective of TAR/TARA ....Hi CabioTAR,

Are you in the AXN-Asia MB's? I think I recognize your name from your comments to Michael McKay. I'm there as KenF.
Slowhatch! You find the most amazing sites! I don't know how you do it!
Look team--it is a Jolly Green ..................Lamppost!
wow quite big lamp postHere's a closeup (http://www.virtualtravel.cz/prague-castle/hradcany-square.html) (broadband is best); it's one of the better VR websites I've found. I don't know if it's Emma's lamp--I've found design duplicates--but it's a fun site. This (http://www.flickr.com/photos/irevo/55907100/) is a match, though; compare the building in the background (and check out the dilapidation from just two years ago :res:). And here's (http://www.flickr.com/photos/curiouseye/337851446/) the guy that keeps it going.

Special Asian edition we thinkas that really helps us to be sure that this was TARA 2 and not TAR 12.
Well, that just made my "TOP Ten Things to See/Do in NZ" list--right up there with zorbing! :jumpy:
Thanks for the giggle, Slowhatch!

Hi everyone, thanks for your comments regarding TARA2 and the interest everyone has been showing (yes, I have been following the spoilers).
We'd love to do a promotional event in Jakarta, we had so much fun shooting TARA1 there and we snuck in and out to do some casting recently (all hush hush of course).
There'll be some announcements coming out over the next few weeks about the TARA2 cast, on air times and so on.
We're also in pre-production on a new show called Ultimate Escape so there's plenty happening.
The age for entering TARA is 21 for legal issues, sorry we can't do much about that.
Not sure where this belongs so I'll stick it here

July 10th Korea?Japan, Tokyo probably. I can't read the kanji, but the katakana (http://www.tokyowithkids.com/fyi/katakana_chart.html) on the left reads bu-ra-n-do ="brand." No help there; maybe someone might recognize the building or area.
:yourock: On a roll, indeed! (don't forget part two, which shows them ziplining between the towers)

If the dates from the camera and postings are semi-accurate, then we have an approximate timeline:If the dates are off, at least we have a start at fixing the relative order.

looks like in Korea?
Last season, the teams were all quite nice people, this season theyre laying their true colors out for everyone to see. Some of the teams even wanted to start fighting with me! Theyre very, very angry people! Also, there's going to be an extra episode:
Were going to have a special episode before the actual premiere of the first leg of the race. Its called Racers Revealed and it gives the audience the chance to get more familiar with the racers before they actually start competing on the show. In that show, theres a good chance theyre going to show some of these audition tapes so in the future, people will have a better idea of what it takes to be in the show.(A production/programming mistake, I think)
Yves' pics have been taken down.Drat (:;). I forgot to copy them all . I was going to ask about the Manila pit stop too. Oh well, at least I got one more out of it: Shinjuku (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinjuku) (photo source page (http://www.flickr.com/photos/laniandjames/264749488/))
Oh nice find Slowhatch! and I have all of Yves' pictures saved but will hang on to them because I don't want either Yves or McKay to be mad at us
The structure she's standing on was bugging me; it took a while but I finally found it: Fun Extreme Canopy (http://www.canopy.hu/index_en.php), just east of the Visegrad citadel.
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all your support. TARA 2 team are all very excited being able to say we are in the show. The launch party was at Indochine on Weds 26 Sept.

From Slowhatch's Prague Blog find (http://emmammemma.vox.com/library/post/july-18---prague.html), the author of the blog, Emma, has been kind enough to share her photos of the Amazing Race that she took in Prague.
From the photos, it is clear that this is TARA, especially as she was lucky enough to also get what we believe is the TARA producer, Michael Mckay (http://amazing-race-asia.axn-asia.com/about/producer/) (thanks again to Slowhatch for the producer link and to puddin for the producer spotting!)
I'm awaiting further confirmation of the exact date, but does seem to probably be 7/17.
my guess is Philippines Leg...
n All girls Team from Japan ... - 1 of the girl said "Ganbate ne" to another one... may be road block ... task related to Padi Feild or Ox ... like TAR5....
Nice puddin! that was new to me--love the picture! :happy:At least some :-[ of us have a visual of what a "zipline" setup looks like now
Meanwhile, the Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt (VGF), Frankfurts municipal transport authority, is in charge of seven subway lines,
but we think TARA 2 may have been in NZ around July 14 so Frankfurt is really prob TAR 12?
vgF==Frankfurt subway!!!QuoteMeanwhile, the Verkehrsgesellschaft Frankfurt (VGF), Frankfurts municipal transport authority, is in charge of seven subway lines,
It was Slowhatch  who sent me in the right direction--I was just lucky! :-[

The other hindrance that was dealt with by Kinar was painful knees as a result of being tired. The "profit had Brett that mijit my knees," he said spoilt.
:welcome2: jonnal! Glad you have joined in the fun and thanks so much for pointing that out! They seem like a great team to root for so wonderful if they do end up in the final three!
Keep us posted if you see more--thanks again!
jonnal, the difference between 3 weeks and 24 days has a potential explanation. Racers tend to count the pre-race lockdown as part of their racing time because from their point of view it is. This typically takes about 3 days. However, producers typically do not count it in their statements about the length of a race.
Peach, it means the same that it did for Amazing Race Asia 1 - nothing special. Several of the cities on the half-globe are ones where actual racing is taking place in ARA2, such as Tokyo, Auckland as the airport to get to/from Rotorua and probably Bangkok as the airport to get to the Finish Line. But with all the European locations, I do not see ARA2 getting to Los Angeles, Sydney again, Jakarta, or Istanbul. You know that you can't take the screencaps for any Amazing Race TV show too seriously.

Okay guys--heads up! New rule!
We have an unusual situation here in that some of you are able to see the episode before the ones of us here in the US have any way to grab it. So we are going to ask your cooperation in not spoiling the episode for those of us who can't see it immediately. And yes, I spoiled a lot of the episodes and yes this is a spoiler thread but still I like a little surprise!
So after talking it over with puddin, we are going to try a 48 hour rule to protect the innocent.
So until 9PM EST on the Saturday following the Thursday episodes--please use spoiler bars for any "spoilery" info from the latest show--especially who comes in first and who is eliminated.
To do that here --highlight the text that needs spoiler bars-- choose CHANGE COLOR from the drop down box above--and when you get this[ color=black][ /color] delete black and type in white which essentially makes the post invisible--so say spoilers or something so we don't think it is empty!
After that it will be up to us to stay out of the thread if we haven't seen it--but hopefully that will give us time to find a way to watch each week--so if you have a link--any link--please PM me and I'll distribute it around, okay?
Thanks everybody!! :kissy:

Amazing Encounter with the Amazing Race
A couple of days ago I found myself in the middle of a TV spectacular, by accident.
There's a TV programme called *The Amazing Race*usually filmed out of the US, where teams of two race each other around the world, following clues, and performing tasks. First home win US$1000000!!
We watch it here because of the interesting places that the teams visit, and the sights they see, and a couple of times they have been through New Zealand very briefly.
On Monday the wife and I with our two homestay students were taking a winter break and driving towards the town of Rotorua, when we took a tea stop in a town called Tirau. This town is famous for its information centre, which is a huge corrugated iron sheepdog, with an equally large sheep next door.
We stopped to fill with petrol next to the dog, and were amazed to see camera crews racing around, filming pairs of people who were also filling up identical Ford Territory cars.
Suddenly the penny dropped!! - there were the famous yellow and black clue envelopes being ripped open, and we were in the middle of the Race.
I paid for my fuel, and as I walked away one of the girls asked me some directions, so I finished up signing a waiver, and may well make a walk-on appearance in the programme - what a buzz!!
A little later we found ourselves at the Blue Lake in Rotorua, where there was a setup for one of their tasks - it'll be interesting to see what it looks like.
Special Asian edition we think - may screen around Christmas
Not looking not looking not looking....I know peachs but its SO tempting!! :pull
Ken, another excellent recap. I have 2 comments that you might find worth incorporating by making minor changes:Thanks, apskip. I thought I heard Paula say, "I smell pretty," but I will check that.
1. The comment at the Hong Kong Airport was I believe "they(Marc and Rovilson) smell pretty" not "I smell pretty". You can doublecheck this and see who has it right.
2. Sophie and Aurelie stated that the correct Matakana with Spooky Mansion was 100 km north of Auckland while the one they went to first was Matakana Island 100 miles south(and east) of Auckland. That means they drove 200 km (120 miles) or at least 2 hours out of their way.
Here's a new ARA2 TIMELINE since we haven't had one in over 3 months:
July 5 - ARA2 begins in Singapore
July 6 - Manila
July 8 - Auckland
July 10 - Rotorua
July 12 - Korea
July 15 - Frankfurt
July 17 - Prague
July 19 - Budapest
I am going to speculate that it ends with this:
July 22 - Tokyo
July 24 Bangkok area
Total time = 20 days for 10 legs

Hmm, I dont think this is quite right.
Based on the wrong axn preview they intially showed, I saw at least 6 teams in Japan.
Im 100% sure its Japan.
I saw Colin/Adrian, Ann/Diane, Paula/Natasha, Marc/Rovilson, Henry/Terri and Pamela/Vanessa...
And at the end of it, it was showed to be a superleg(to be continued) when Allan said: "Keep racing!".
So the next few legs it would make sense that Sophie/Aurelia and Sawaka/Daichi are in trouble.
How sad man. :groan:
It'll be good if theres screencaps or the actual footage of it...I still got the video of it in my recorder but dont really know how to upload it into here...Any idea? I had the same problem with getting the Ep 3 here...

So much for staying out of the Asia spoilers :cmaslol ! Good job jonnal :yess:

ep 4 torrent is out. get on dat **** american pples:cmaslol
Since it's now officially Saturday on the East Coast of the US, I will say what I really think of Rovilson & Marc. I want them out. I want them to touch the third rail and get electrocuted. Their constant mugging especially those stupid fake mustaches in the taxi was one of the dumbest scenes I have ever seen in the Amazing Race.
I am thoroughly disgusted whenever I see them on camera. One of them is mugging while the other makes seemingly scripted one-liners. They are not funny. They are not talented. They are not true reality TV participants. If they got run over by a concrete truck, I would not be unhappy at all.
When I do my recap sometime this weekend, I will figure a way to slander them. No, that's not right, but I will blast them for their behavior in this episode.
Ken, I agree with you. However, the Amazing Race has this funny way of bringing the mighty down. Look at Colin and Christie in AR5, final episode or Rob and Amber in AR11, episode 4 for examples. I am expecting that Marc and Rovilson are going to do something stupid or get Yielded when there is virtually no opportunity to recover. Then, suddenly they will be out. Let's pray for this.We can only hope this happens. Yes, seemingly dominant teams find a way to get their comeuppance. This has happened this season to Azaria & Hendekea of TAR12. I do hope Rovilson & Marc will either get Yielded or do an Intersection with Terry & Henry who will argue and cost the alpha males the race.
nxt I think they r going to Busan .... ferry ride from Fukuoka to Busan
Very good stuff! :cmas16 :cmas26 :cmas16
Wasn't there a rumor about Singapore as final city? Cabio??
In addition to the octopus grab and the tae kwan do, some more evidence for Busan: this cap would seem to be the Gwangan bridge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gwangan_Bridge). If you squint, you can match the curved supports seen in this photo (http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=444794341&size=l). Even better, the traffic flow is divided between upper and lower levels, so the cab's direction might be determined (they're probably just going from the ferry terminal into the city, but you never know).
nxt I think they r going to Busan .... ferry ride from Fukuoka to Busan
cabioTAR, I could not believe what I found out about this:
Section First Departure Last Departure Time Required Fare(won)

I was expecting the 7.5 hour crossing. The 3 hour hydrofoil option is very attractive and probably what they did if released from the last task before 4pm. Since my Shinkansen schedule indicates they would have arrived by about 9am, they might even make the 1235 hydrofoil.
Here are the caps, but I can't read Korean or Chinese.
Just when I was about to despair...

Episode 6 should start JUly 13 with a late morning train trip to Seoul, then afternoon tasks in that area, ending with a pitstop in Seoul that evening.
Ok, I'll do this for you this week because I love you guys. :hearts: :hearts: :hearts:
Episode 7 is now up in the usual place. The only edition available is a version with Malay subtitles.
Hello!Petr has posted before but for some reason was ignored :yaya:
I live in the Czech Republic and today I spoke with a taxi driver who participated at shooting! He told me that a group of Asiatic/Caucasian people and crew were acting 'How people find each other'. That was happening near Prague Castle (photos from Prague posted here were taken there) and after that they gone to Letnany Ice Rink (http://www.oc-letnany.cz/en/sport/zimni-stadion.php). I have few contacts yet, so I hope that I can find out even more info.

- I'm sorry for misinformation that pitstop will be at Vltava's riverside - according to photo from pitstop (that with lady in "traditional" costume) - the pitstop is located in Petrin Observatory. You can find a mirror maze there and with the rest of Prague it's connected via cableway
If you have some questions, post them down. :-)
Compare Yves' shot below with this photo (http://www.budapestsite.com/wp-content/photos/Erzs__bet_bridge.jpg) of the Elisabeth bridge in Budapest; note the pointy building in the background. It shouldn't take long to figure where the pitstop/greeter was.
Look what else from another Croatian Picasa album! (http://picasaweb.google.com/juliaandbrian/Croatia02) July 15
Labelled "Actual amazing race contestants!" And "we tried to catch up but couldn't!"
And it is all mixed up with pics from Frankfurt and Croatia and Trogir!! FRANKFURT??

I think the team might be Paula/Natasha.

Thats why I love their route, they could send you to another country just to pick up a clue.
I think this should add more spices to the recap but I haven't gotten everything down as I too have short memories.....BUT great job ichihara_yuuko :thankyou: :partie:and :welcome2:
I have already posted this preview upthread. You did Ken but there were complaints that we were getting spoilers before Saturday when we agreed not to spill the beans until then so it was moved here. Honestly there has to be a better way to keep everyone happy, lol.
Is it tomorrow night or the following night that you all get to watch TARA2 EP9? No matter, can you all just do us a favor and start a new topic, EP9 Show Spoilers and discussion, or something like that, thank you in advance :yaya:

Re: Re: Amazing Race Asia 2 Spoilers
Well, I'm shocked to say that I apparently have a spoiler and about a show I don't follow at all--Asian AR....
A person who used to work in my office just e-mailed me from Budapest where she's visiting relatives. She used to endure the weekly discussions of the Amazing Race with a smile that indicated we were totally demented.
So, from the e-mail dated today, July 22:
The other day we were at Heroes Square and there were people dressed in graduate garb under each hero statue. Two girls with backpacks were running around trying to pronounce the names of the heroes correctly and the graduates were judging whether they pronounced the names correctly. There was also a camera following the girls around. I was asked by one of the girls how to pronounce a name (Mátyás) and was later asked to sign a waiver in case I got on TV. It turned out to be some sort of Asian Amazing Race. I thought of you guys

Anybody watch The Amazing Race?
The structure she's standing on was bugging me; it took a while but I finally found it: Fun Extreme Canopy (http://www.canopy.hu/index_en.php), just east of the Visegrad citadel.

ichihara_yuuko,
I was confused by your statement starting "and the winner is". I am certain that you meant another team.
Does anyone know what the next country is? According to the press release pre-season, there are going to be 4 continents.I don't know what country is next but were discussing next weeks leg here, I hope that helps?
I'm thinking Egypt for some reason.

You'll scream because you don't want them to get the FF or you'll scream with joy?

theory was proven right!
New Theory.
Winner will be Mark/Rovilson.
They are the only one left of the Final Three who don't have a speaking role in a Sony Commercial.
