I've asked this on Speculation thread, but I'll ask on this thread too... Where is the Starting Line? Does anyone know? :) :)

Since there were no updates on the LA starting line, it may be like season 20 (Bridlewood Winery; Santa Barbara) when the starting line is in a weird location. Long Beach or Simi Valley perhaps? ???
This is what I got from using OCR(Character recognition from an image) and then had a rough google translation

Well... not typical. ;) The starting lines usually start in or near major cities like Chicago (6), Los Angeles (4, 12, 13, 15, 16, 22), and Seattle (10). If there was a Long Beach starting line, there would definitely be nearby closures you, a resident, probably would have noticed. I am suggesting they might have started the race at a less populous city. Maybe Laguna Beach...Since there were no updates on the LA starting line, it may be like season 20 (Bridlewood Winery; Santa Barbara) when the starting line is in a weird location. Long Beach is not weird! Its my hometown. ITS EPIC!!!
Confirmed Phil was in Lisbon...

"With Amazing Race host, Phil Keoghan, what are chances of meeting him here!?"

Detect the exact spot guys... Lisbon town square maybe?
If the show is filming, Phil doesn't have time to sight see, he's said that himself in one way or another on numerous occasions. He'd be there to either film a location stand-up to introduce the next leg, or a clue marker, or a pit stop. We don't see the pit stop mat, but it is possible that is out of camera view, along with production.
Can you see it guys?
It's our crew with the extended-filming equipment at the Palace in Vienna,

So it looks as though our leg was NOT in Doha, but was in Abu Dhabi instead!
Abu Dhabi, is that just a connection point or is that an official leg there?
Have there been any double legs (legs in the same country) outside of Chile?
I tried to follow the timeline, but I am confused by all of this new info.
Thanks to everyone who has made this a fun race to watch live! :)
EDIT: I meant to post this in the speculation and discussion thread. Sorry!
They were in Indonesia for almost 3 days and only did 1 leg? Seems unusual.
So here is our route as we know and SPECULATED so far:
Leg 1 (United States --> Chile) / LAX to Iquique
Leg 2 (Chile) / El bus to Santiago
Leg 3 (Chile --> Portugal) / flight to Lisbon
Leg 4 (Portugal --> Norway) / flight to Svolvaer and possibly into rural area
Leg 5 (Norway --> Poland) / flight to Gdansk
Leg 6 (Poland --> Austria) / flight OR train to Vienna
Leg 7 (Austria --> United Arab Emirates) / flight to Abu Dhabi & desert safari?
Leg 8 (United Arab Emirates) / Abu Dhabi city
Leg 9 (United Arab Emirates --> Indonesia) :res: / flight to Bandung
Leg 10 (Indonesia) / EDIT: Lembang area confirmed by "mellodoo"
Leg 11 (Indonesia --> ??? ) / My speculation lands on Samoa or the Philippines
Leg 12 (??? --> United States) / West Coast (Seattle or SF Bay Area) is an 88% lock
EDIT: It seems like WRP failed again to bring another new country unless my Samoa speculation is correct.
I said it was "... and SPECULATED" in underlined letters. There isn't much proof they went anywhere else because then we'd have the evidence in tweet or photo form from a different Middle Eastern country. For now, I'm just specking UAE will provide a city leg and desert leg since in the desert, there isn't phone signal and we haven't seen a single thing other than in the city of Abu Dhabi. Where else could they have gone? Saudi Arabia? :snics:So here is our route as we know and SPECULATED so far:

How do we know there are 2 legs in the UAE?
^ Qatar.Are you sure though? ???
Well are you sure about Abu Dhabi?Peach said she confirmed it so...
Peach isn't always 100% correct. (Sorry peach just pouring the truth tea) She hasn't shown us any proof, so we can't be sure. :POkay, for all we know, they could have been in Tajikistan.
Tajikistan <3

Did Juneau that the final TAR 23 location is in Southeastern Alaska?
Sorry, couldn't resist that using that one. :groan:
Start line preview - looks like Calico Ghost Town in Yermo CA.
it's actually the western town set at the Santa Clarita Melody Ranch (studio) where the HBO series Deadwood was shot, and most recently the movie Django Unchained.

Can we NOT start or finish in California at all for just one season? :groan:
I loved starting lines during the early TAR seasons when teams began racing in renowned places with significant statial uniqueness. New York is famous for its beautiful Central Park, Nevada is known for its flat plains and mountainous lands, South Florida is known for the Everglades National Park, teams paid a visit to Santa Monica's infamous amusement pier, Chicago locals know the enormous beauty of Buckingham Fountain, and Gas Works made a rare sighting to see all of downtown Seattle. I miss these types of unique starting lines when it intrigued me to visit there. Can we NOT start or finish in California at all for just one season? :groan:
I don't get the big deal. California is a great place with a lot of diversity. Its just a starting line
TAR21: Why did they choose that particular bridge?
I think they've just decided to continue starting in LA because that's where their headquarterd and is home to a major international airport. For spoiler purposes, I'm fine with it. We always get pictures of most of the teams at LAX.
I still want to see a new airport being featured. :( Los Angeles is being completely overused. I want something fresh like starting in the Sonoran Desert and flying to Europe via Phoenix Sky Harbour Int'l Airport. I think what I'm saying is I liked it better when they started at naturally beautiful, unique, and well-renowned locations like the Everglades, Central Park, and the San Gorgonio Wind Turbine Farm rather than local, nonintriguing locations like the Colorado Street Bridge (worst starting location ever, period.), Hacienda Heights's chinese temple, and this season's artificial ghost town. It's simply not the same energy brought out.I think they've just decided to continue starting in LA because that's where their headquarterd and is home to a major international airport. Yeah RIGHT !! :groan:
I like the old west and stage coach. Fitting for a flight to Chile. When I think of Chile, I think of Valparaiso.
Episode 2 will feature an extended task at an abandoned salt mine outside Iquique. We will have lots more info to share before then. :)
This was filmed on the day AFTER the first Pitstop in Iquique, so we are assuming that we will see this in EP 2 before teams travel to Santiago.Any information how the bike ride Ally & Ashley were shown doing would fit into the Chile legs?Episode 2 will feature an extended task at an abandoned salt mine outside Iquique. We will have lots more info to share before then. :)
