I was a semi finalist for TAR 10. I didn't quite make the cut for the LA Finals. However, I knew that the race was set to begin this past week. My kids kept telling me "Hey Dad, you were going to be leaving on The Amazing Race this week". I was wondering where would I start...where was my first city going to be...what my first detour and roadblocks would be.
Well...I have the first answer...My other team member is a pilot. He was flying through the Seattle airport earlier this week, and saw all of the teams at the Seattle Tacoma airport. He didn't see where they were going, and didn't recognize any of the teams from the Green Room at the Chicago semi's.

Maybe we should be tracking the AXN version  ?
There's a rumour going around on another site (site not in English, so no point in linking it) that an older team was walking in the Old City of Dubrovnik, Croatia (no cars allowed).
I was at the airport this morning to bid farewall to a family member .. but you probably don’t care about that.
Anyway .. I was at starbucks, talking to family; then I see a bunch of people running out of the departure gates with large bags and tons of Camera Equipment. I realized it was a reality tv show, and couldn’t think of anything except the ‘Amazing Race’.
I took some pictures with my camera-phone (which are quite bad). Then my cousin and I decided to go see what the whole thing was about. I asked them if it was the Amazing Race, they said it was a ‘travel show’ .. fair enough.
Then I figured, they are probably on a task .. lets help em cheat. They needed directions to Kuwait Towers, told them to go down the aiport road, hang a right on 1st ring and follow the towers. Then they asked if I had any money.. I figured they are semi-celebrities, so I gave them a kd. Then the camera crew asked for my persmission to record .. couldn’t read the contract, way too blurry. I think I might have given someone my first-born.
I then followed them to the Kuwait towers, took a couple more pictures.
The shots aren’t that good .. but you get the picture (no pun intended).
Pictures are in the gallery (link is up there ^), if your too lazy click here. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/thekuwaiti/sets/72157594160327811/)
wally does any of the crew look familure to you?
As well as an Asian team !?
I am a little skepical about all this. My first thought,
1. I do not see any yellow or red anywhere.
2. I do not see any fanny packs ( or whatever you call them) with red and yellow.
3. What amazes me is that they are not in a rush. They are very calm, especially in the cars.
If these pictures are in fact of AR10. WHow. :jam: Its been a long time. :hearts: I am so happy, Cannot wait till Sept.
One more thing, 7 cars, does not mean 7 teams, Maybe 2 teams where ahead, and this guy did not take pictures of them.
Teams ? ? ?
An Asian team #7 ? a black team #6 ?
OK I'm just guessing here so don't hurt me too much :js:

Hey you never know , good for speculation maybe , maybe not . And yes I know there is an Asian version of TAR but New Zealand was mentioned here (http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php?topic=8438.msg121763#msg121763) .
"Amazing Race 10 Sighting "
To those who are interested:
A friend of mine saw a team from what I guess is Season 10 on an Air New Zealand flight from Queenstown to Auckland, yesterday, June 2nd. The team spotted was 'an Asian couple, who looked very tired'. They were apparently en route to Singapore.
If I hear any more information I will post it.

Leave from somewhere for KuwaitI've borrowed from Chateau's screencap (I'm not linking there again) for the Fri. morning arrivals. The good news is that there isn't much to choose from (Cochin and Islamabad can probably be ruled out). The bad news is that if the teams are connecting from London or Manila/Bangkok, rather than originating there, then the teams could have started their flights from...a lot of different places. (great NZ work, Puddin! :woohoo:)

Amazing Race
By Charlie
Wednesday, May 31 was cold and rainy in UB. Rachel and I went to the gym in the late morning and then enjoyed lunch at our favorite ex-pat watering hole.
As the lattes arrived, we saw a horde of alpha-humans charging through the courtyard of the monastery/museum across the street. Each team of two was followed by a cameraman and sound guy. The teams ran up to a temple, grabbed an envelope, tore it open, ran to a waiting jeep, loaded up and drove away.
People in the restaurant watched, not having any idea what was happening. “They are making a movie,” said the wonderful Ethiopian proprietor. We watched this happen at least ten times before I walked outside and tried to figure out what the hell was going on.
I walked up to a grizzled Australian who appeared to be in charge. “What are we watching here?” I asked. “It’s a TV show.”
“Which TV show?” I asked.
“It’s in development. It doesn’t have a name.”
Whatever. I went back in the restaurant and we kept watching the drama unfold.
Half an hour after it all began, Rachel and I finished our food, paid the bill and walked out of the restaurant. About 10 of 20 jeeps were still parked in front of the restaurant. Americans in travel gear with their camera crews in toe were running all over the place. Mongolians stood by the side of the road, trying to make sense of the spectacle.
Two young African-American women frantically interrogated the Mongolian bystanders. “Do you speak English? Do you speak English?” The Mongolians looked on, totally nonplused.
Then they saw us. “Do you speak English?” “Yes,” I said.
“We need to get to Terelj. Where is it?”
I pointed east and started giving directions. “Come out of here and turn right. Then turn left at the intersection and right at the light. Follow the road for a while until you get to a circle…” They looked confused.
“Can you show us?”
Well, ****. Of course!
So we all piled in the Russian jeep and hit the road. I offered to drive, since I have a Mongolian driver’s license. But Lynn said that she had to drive. The camera guy rode shotgun. Karlyn road in the back seat, on the left. I was in the middle. The sound guy was to my right.
And off we went.
At that moment, I figured that these two women from Alabama were contestants on some two-bit reality show being filmed for Discovery Travel or some other lame cable channel. I asked Lynn and Karlyn and they didn’t seem to know. In fact, they probably knew very well that they are contestants on the Amazing Race. But the rules of the game forbid them – or the crews – from mentioning the name of the show while it is being filmed. I learned this later from a friend who is familiar with how the Amazing Race is shot.
But Karlyn and Lynn didn’t have a whole lot of time to talk about this, since we were all trying to navigate UB traffic without getting killed. We did come very close to being creamed by a bus.
We headed east on Peace Avenue.
“So,” I said, “Where are we going?”
Karlyn busted out the instructions, which said that they should get in their jeep and drive to Terelj while obeying the traffic laws.
“Where’s your map?” I asked.
“We didn’t get one because we found you first.”
The instructions continued, saying that they should park their jeep in the village of Terelj, where they would meet some horses and a nomad who would help them with the horses. And that was it. No more instructions.
“When you see the nomad,” I said, “you should greet him with ‘Sain baina uu?’”
They repeated this a few times and I wrote it down for them.
I explained about the ger areas that we passed on the outskirts of UB. Lynn and Karlyn explained that they had arrived in UB that morning on a train from the Chinese border. They had apparently driven from Beijing to the China-Mongolia border.
“I didn’t expect this place to be so developed,” said Karlyn, as she looked at the rundown Soviet apartment buildings. “Just wait,” I said.
“Seeing this makes me feel blessed to come from Alabama.”
“Amen.”
As we got out of town, the traffic thinned and there were no more big turns. I told them to keep driving until they passed the antenna farm on the right and to look for the fork in the road about 10 or 15 minutes after that. “Turn left at the fork.”
Having mastered the jeep, Lynn became more talkative. “You are a gift sent from God,” she said.
Karlyn continued: “A gift sent from Heaven. Amen.”
Lynn pulled the jeep over to the side of the road. Karlyn wrestled with her door, but could not get it to open. The cameraman had already climbed out to shoot my departure, so I wrestled my way into the front seat to exit through the front passenger door.
The jeep sped towards Terelj and I hired a taxi into town where I picked up some shipping boxes from DHL.
Please, God. Please let Lynn and Karlyn win the Race. Amen.
That is so awesome - remember that Ariel's brother won the Amazing Race several years ago.

two weeks ago that guy Zanjaan was hiring people for this project and he wouldn't even tell people a single thing about it.
A couple of years ago they also had that program "Lost" filmed here. I watched the few episodes last summer here in mgl and it was the most ridiculous thing ever.

Hello,
1. I think the people that asked me for money did have backpacks; don't quite remember.
2. The picture of the cars was at the towers (hence the large tower in the background); there was one car that had yet to arrive when I took that picture.
3. They most likely came from DEL (Delhi, India); based on the times.
It was moved often to various places along the Selenga, Orhon and Tuul rivers until reaching its present location in the late 18th century, on the high road from Peking to Kiakhta (Kiachta), about 700 m. N.W. of Peking and 165 m. S. of the trading town of Kiakhta on the Russian frontier. It is the holy city of the Mongols and the residence of the " Living Buddha," metropolitan of the Kalka tribes, who ranks third in degree of veneration among the dignitaries of the Lamaist Church. This " resplendently divine lama " resides in a sacred quarter on the western side of the town, and acts as the spiritual colleague of the Chinese amban. It prospered in the 1860s as a commercial center on the tea route between Russia and China (early 20th century trade was valued at over 1,000,000 ?dollar a year) and was the seat of the Qing amban (highest imperial official) in Mongolia, who controled all temporal matters, and was specially charged with the control of the frontier trade town of Kiakhta and its trade with Russia.
TPTB for TAR are known to follow the rule that the shortest distance between two points is not a straight line! They have been known to backtrack and go by the longest way just to pile up the miles so that they can brag that TAR10, for example, covered a record 75,000 miles on their trip around the world. So the seemingly indiret itinerary from Seattle to Ulan Bator (via Hawaii and or Tokyo) down to New Zealand up to Singapore and then on to Kuwait via New Delhi makes sense.
I'm still a little bit confused, so help me out on the pictures of the cars. Scenes #1, #8 and #10 show a lineup of seven cars with empty space to the left of the last car. These scenes seem to be in front of the Kuwait Towers. But in scenes #2, #3 and #5 there is a curb and shrub next to the last car and we see at least one team and cameracrew walking off to the left. So to me this is two locations. Can our friend in K set me straight. And how many cars actually are seen at the Kuwait Tower. K says that when he took the picture (seven cars) one more was still to come. That would put the number of teams in Kuwait at 8 and mean only three legs had been run before arriving in Kuwait.
Also if we have a sighting now in Mongolia (May 31)and New Zealand (June 2) we now have a week to kill before the surviving eight teams arrive in Kuwait. And with the loss of a day because we cross the International Date Line, we would have to have the teams leave Seattle on May 28. And if they do go to Mongolia first, they probably connect through Tokyo.
I'm travelling somewhere in China right now trying to get to the TAR10 teams, so the mileage calculations might have to take a while. Sorry guys!
I can probably help with the Greece thing though. In the Opening Flashing Sequence, there was a frame of a pier with a fortress in the background, and we've found this at Nafplion, on the eastern flank of the Peloponesse. We were kind of perplexed that it never appeared on the show (this has never happened before), so, well, mystery solved!
This indicates that they may have arrived at 1:30 pm. I don't understand why teams would have been required to drive to the China Mongolia boarder.
Unless that was th only way to catch the train. ;D
Post (http://forum.virtualtourist.com/discussion-195784-1-1-Travel-1-1750-Mongolia-discussion.html)
Alternatively, take local trains from Beijing to the Mongolian border, cross by bus, and continue to Ulaanbaatar on local trains.Another article (http://www.lonelyplanet.com/journeys/feature/ghengis_khan06.cfm) that suggests (last paragraph) that there's no straight-through train service.
Here is a time check using May 28th as a start day.
Constraints:
Normal time flight out: afternoon
14 hours for the train ride over the Gobi Desert
1:30 pm train arrival
If there is a pit stop in China then ... brb

One final point - there were 6 kayaks on the beach - perhaps a FF meant someone avoided this task?
Isn't GasWorks where TAR3 ended? Maybe TAR10 will end at another season's starting point.
Look !
They are even fitted with little cameras in the nose.
Minäkin arvasin, ettei tällä kierroksella putoa kukaan, koska Phil sanoi "A couple may be eliminated".
Minusta Colin tosiaan sanoi "My ox is broken" eli "Minun härkäni on rikki".

WOW! An actual TAR videoThis is the first one, isn't it?
From memory the first team to arrive was all female, the 2nd a guy and girl - all quite young. They completed the task in that order but the leading team got about 5 minutes in between them.
We counted 5 teams in total.
We have some camcorder footage we'll try and post something from it soon.

Ooops I just remembered they were both female not as I wrote before.
I was just lurking on another site that Izabela is posting on......looks as if we might have more goodies soon! :jumpy: :jumpy: She is also posting on Sucks.... ??? Why can't she find us!!

If the picture of the family next to the cluebox was taken in the morning then the location is somewhere in the northwest quadrant of the island. This comes from the shadows in font of them and ocean to their right. Probably Grand Bay.

That Barcelona tipster should hit the airports -- next stop could be End City. This would have them getting back in about 4 weeks, which was the run time for TAR9.

Anyway...Iza...about the Asian M/F team, the M/M team, and the African-American F/F team...how far behind the caucasian F/F and M/F teams were they?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't forget only the male is asian in that team and the female is what I call my token "Lori".
I would give them a good 20 mins after the 3rd team which was the young m/m team.
The young m/m team arrived 10-15 mins after the leading couples. This 3rd team seemed to catch up some time with this roadblock but still left 3rd.
Can anyone give info on this China picture? Just happened to cross it & don't know if it's TAR/which season... thought I'd bring it up since it looks like they are in China this year...
Don't think they will be going to GE building (NBC), but Radio City Music Hall & Rockefeller Plaza are close by. Way too many people around to see them. (:;)
heard from a reliable source that some woman had talked with one couple in the train and the couple said that they had flown from Madagascar to Helsinki and from Helsinki to Tampere and Ylöjärvi and then they had to travel with a train to Turku where they must find the cars and drive to quarry mines in Lohja. What happened after that is unknown.
It's from your link. The team(s) spotted on the train in Finland.:nm: :dunce:
Apparently, Satan and female body parts have something to do with it.:lol3:
maybe Wally will recognize the crews ?? I'll see if I can get him in here .
Tyler Dank and James Branamancontestant names for TAR10 , and thought it was a joke and still might be ?
I heard from a reliable source that some woman had talked with one couple in the train and the couple said that they had flown from Madagascar to Helsinki ...There are many flights MRU-HEL that have nothing to do with Antananarivo (most connecting through France or Germany), so maybe Madagascar is a stop and not just a connection.
Can you help us with this one Signal ? :yaya:

Thay are the same. no?
Another reason why an All-Star TAR is just about off the shelf: previous teams would be spotted on the spot so to speak.that was one of my first thoughts too but romber managed to roam around without too many actuall sightings considering they were in the final 3. certainly would be easier to track/hunt them down knowing who to look for.
Puddin, Do you have a time of day when the racer visited his MySpace site?Sorry no Chateau , when I checked Jame's he had logged in as of June 25th , now Tyler had not logged in since roughly May 17th or 21st ( wish I took a screenshot ) but late last night Tyler had logged in .
That will help to bracket the time for the end of the race.
5:00pm – Giants arrive at Maremagnum for Host stand up. Jarrod xxxxxxx stationed here.
6:30pm – Shoot host stand up. Jarrod assists.
7:00pm – First art picture car delivered to Colonia Guell.
Picture below for Sups :)
Does this sound like Maremagnum is the pit stop? By Host are they talking about the greeter? And what is an art picture car????
7:00pm – Analysis of Tomato PileGo figure; if I was in charge of a national historic site I wouldn't let a giant pile of tomatoes anywhere near the place, no matter what promises were made. Maybe this doesn't involve a "tomatina" food fight but another search task: "find the green tomato" or something similar.

ACCORDING TO THE MANY WEB PAGES THE FILMING TOOK PLACE (JUNE 16TH) IN HELSINKI AND TURKU. SOME SOURCES CLAIM THAT THE COMPETITORS HAVE VISITED THE OLYMPIC STADIUM IN HELSINKI BUT EVIDENTLY HAVE VISITED ALSO TURKU. All female African-American team (as mentioned in that thread that was linked to on the last page)
Getting out of a cab that was from Newark (which made it stand out more from the traditional NYC cabs).
Two crew with them - one boom mic operator, one cameraman.
The girls got out of the cab and asked a local for directions - the mic operator then had to get the person to sign a release and the team looked very impatient while they were waiting.
The biggest tip-off for me was that one of the crew had a yellow "K" tag, and having just re-watched Season 7, it looked exactly like the tags that everyone has on their bags.
Again, I hope this isn't a fluke, and apologize if this was inadvertently a team on some other reality show - but given the timeline I'm reading, this might just fit."
Hopes this helps.!!!
I'm still stuck on End City being Florida B:) B:) ,I'm just thinking outloud ..
The race starts where TAR3 (http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race3/show/episode01/ar3story01.shtml) ended .
TAR3 started at Everglades National Park..then Lynn & Alex sent as decoys through NY .
yada yada no luck
http://filmflorida.com/index.cfm
Over at sucks, they're talking about Nova Scotia. From Barcelona, could be pretty much anywhere.
Don't they traditionally hit a US state or territory before hitting the mainland/final city for customs reasons?
A little rampant speculation:
There's room for a leg in between Finland and Spain. The team spotted in Croatia way, way back wouldn't fit our timeline as it stands, but maybe they were a test team, like TPTB have said run the race ahead of time?
I got some new info,
Few sources have said that the race continued to Belarus after Finland. And I don't think it was just a connection point.
Oh and also there is some info about their "task" in Ylöjärvi. Obviously it was some kind of obstacle course at swamp :D
The landowner of the area is keeping his mouth shut, but nearby neighbours reported a helicopter and lots of people including security who kept the nosy ones far. The famous clue box was also seen there.
I'd love a scan of the article Signal   .
I would assume TAR producers don't want us to know where they were ? also I assume the production companies along with the land owners or whatever are under contract to keep hush .
Signal this is by far the most spoiled Amazing Race in my opinion , heck we even have possibly four of the teamates names as well as the final 3 and the cast was not even released yet .
Now if only we can find the final city  ?
I hope someone else can explain better than I can about the production and contracts and all ..:yaya:
Nevermind me , I'm weird ! Cross Country skiing  !
just some info (http://www.piramk.fi/web/wwweng.nsf/print/6F00440BBE65B3C7C2256F69003A35F2?OpenDocument)
Finland has also a bit different, even weird sports. Have you ever heard about "akankanto", which is a competition of wife carrying, "saappaanheitto, in which people compete about who throws a rubber boot the longest way, "suojalkapallo," where soccer is played in a swamp, "vesijuoksu," where people have running competition in water reaching underarm, or World Championship competitions in sauna bathing? And there is more: competitions in killing mosquitoes or sitting in an anthill, swimming in a hole of frozen lake or fishing through it in the middle of winter and rally driving on a thick-iced, frozen lake. Sounds crazy? They are true, but they may be dangerous so do not attempt at home
See where I live I'm use to people skiing on the slopes
So Signal you live in Finland ? but know English so well . Now why is Finnish so hard for me to figure out :snicker: ?
Anyway we appreciate the translations as well as the news article & spoilers, thanks again Signal :hearts:
Signal, Thanks for all of your great work. You've made a great contribution to the board this season.
There have been very few media stories about the Race while it's been underway. The most comprehensive reporting of a race leg was during TAR8. The Amazing Race teams visited the Marshall Space Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The following moring, the Huntsville Times printed a detailed story of what happened and where the race was scheduled to continue.
As for photographic evidence of teams during the race, the best occurrence probably happened during Race 5. A man recevied evidence of the final 3 teams before the race was telecast in the U.S. But the strange thing is, the task that the final three teams were photgraphed doing, never was shown on the telecast.
Here's a link to his photos. Oh, he waited until the last week of the race being telecast to post the photos http://www.hasbrouck.org/blog/archives/000376.html (http://www.hasbrouck.org/blog/archives/000376.html)
Also, during Race 7, a fan snapped photos of two of the final three teams in an airport on their way to the finish line.
I was on a flight from Paris to New York on June 24 with 3 TAR teams - 2 young guys, 2 african american women and a man & woman. At ticketing, my friend asked the two african american women what tv show it was for. One of them answered, "You don't need to worry about it, just move out of the way". We wound up sitting in the bulkhead between business class and coach, near the bathrooms. The man from the man/woman team came over to us and asked if we knew where The News Building was in New York City - he even showed us the clue. We tried our best to help him out - even gave him some money. We asked him lots of questions, most of which he couldn't divulge. Can't wait for the season to start.

Here's answers to everyone's questions and some back story:
Air France flight 8600 from Charles DeGalle to JKF. Departed 6/24 @ 825am
While walking thru airport to get to the right terminal I spotted two rugged-looking young guys, a camera man and what looked like a production person. When we got to the terminal and checked in, the agent said they had overbooked the flight and would we mind being bumped to a later flight in exchange for $150 voucher, which we agreed to. However, the agent said we might still be on that flight and to check back later. We went to cash our vouchers at the ticketing office and the two young guys were there with a stack of passports, which I assume is for themselves and the crew that travels with them. When we went back to see if we were going to be on the first flight, we saw the two guys in line to check in and that's when we saw the african american women with their own cameraman. When we were called up by an agent, my friend walked in front of the camera, asked her question and got rebuffed. We found out that we were going to be on the first flight and after checking our baggage, left walking in front of the camera again.
From what I could tell, each team has their own camera man and sound guy. Plus there's someone that looks like a production person, but I'm not sure if there's one for every team.
It's difficult to tell from the pictures that have been posted if they are the ones I saw - the african american women for sure, the man/woman team in blue is a possibility.
Hope that answers covers it.
Thanks for replying jlaw ..
I know nothing about airlines but a quick google ..for example .

Could you remember an Asian team ot Asian man jlaw?
Getting out of a cab that was from Newark (which made it stand out more from the traditional NYC cabs). The two spoilers might dovetail; I don't know much about the cab ranks at JFK but it might be possible for a Newark cab to drop somebody off at JFK and then pick up a racer there.
It's not that we don't believe you jlaw , you can't blame us for being sceptical ..if you could give us something . Any chance you still have your ticket or reciept or something  ?
The man from the man/woman team came over to us and asked if we knew where The News Building was in New York City - he even showed us the clue.

Thanks Jlaw for all of the info. You went over and beyond what you needed to. I don't know why Puddin was so mean to you. She's usually quite nice. ;)
All, This feels like a decoy to me. The African American women team was also reported to have shown the same clue to someone in New York City. Racers are not supposed to show their clues and call attention to themselves. The last time I recall this happening was in Toronto during TAR8. Those occurrences turned out to be decoys.

Nice spoiling, Neobie. Wow, betting on his underwear....now that's serious! :lol3:
BTW, we're all caught up in "BB7 Fever" over here, so TAR may be on the back burner for a while. :snicker:
I spotted the teams in Paris.. YES, PARIS.. In Eiffel tower. I saw the clue box and camera crews on the top of Eiffel tower.. It was Friday, 23 June 2006, in the morning..
I could post some pictures if you guys want them.. Actually the crews warned me twice not to take photos of the teams..
Big Boob 7? Wha that? I'm lost ?
Big Boob 7? Wha that?
Here are the pictures that I managed to get in Paris, Eiffel Tower.. It was Friday, 23 June, around 9 to 11 am..
since im half asleep how maney teams are in this pic? and crow is yummy puddinBetter than eating bugs, how does yours taste Kogs ? :snicker:

Darn I was liking the Asian team ..ah well . Lovin' Team HAWT !
It was Friday, 23 June, around 9 to 11 am..The metadata is posted at 3-5 p.m., but people traveling usually don't reset their cameras. There's enough shadows for Chateau if need be.
Here's a quick update, with USA, China, Mongolia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Kuwait, Mauritius, Madagascar, Finland, Spain and France as 11 of the 13 countries. One missing country goes in between Vietnam and Kuwait, the other between Finland and Spain (probably Belarus then).
12 teams means 12 legs, right? with 3 NEL and 9 Philiminations leaving 3 teams for the final leg from Paris back to the USofA.
If we are correct that the race begins in Seattle on May 27 and it lasts "less than 30 days" than the spotting of three teams on the flight from Paris to New York on June 24 makes sense. But are these the three final teams or the teams that were Philimated 7th, 8th, and 9th and have been enjoying life in sequesterville??

I give up :groan: .
Example : If Tyler/James Lyn/Karlyn Rob/Kim are all decoys then I suppose Dustin/Kandy & ChoBro's are the final 2 teams what happened to the 3rd team !? See it makes no sense at all :naughtyd:
23 June, 9.00am to 11.00am. That doesn't leave the teams much time to travel from Barcelona does it? The Barcelona Pit Stop catering is offered from 11.30am to 4.00pm the previous day, which means that teams will most likely depart from 11.30pm on the 22nd until 4.00am on the 23rd.
Wow, lots of good stuff here but more analysis is still needed. Just a couple of observations.
I am still uncomfortable that the Race would go directly from Paris to the final destination city in the U.S. Depending upon the number of passengers on JLaw's flight, it could take up to hour before the first passengers passed through Customs and Immigration until the last passengers did. That would kill the momentum of the race and also give a great advantage to the first team that made it through. That is way the Race has always gone from somewhere in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or Canada to the final destination in order to negate those problems.
The TWoP spoiler about seeing the African-American team arrive at the News Building stated that the Taxi Cab came from Newark. JLaw's flight arrived at JFK in New York. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Possibility for the missing legs in the route spec?
EP6: Singapore to North Vietnam
DATES: June 7-8, 2006
EV: North Vietnam cited in statement from producers
)
One more thing -- what if NYC is on the route but is not the end city? What if they clear customs, do a task or two there, and then fly on to another US city for the end, say, on June 25? I think this would still fit in with when people checked in to their Myspace sites. This would clear up the issue of teams getting too far apart at customs for the finish. It would be different than typical TAR form to have two US stops at the end, but who knows...
Why are you guys sure that the female team who make it to the top 6 is Dustin & Kandice?????check here (http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php?topic=8798.0) Hollaback .
I always feel that they are kellie and jamie after I saw the video tape from Mauritius because of their height ??? ???
I think mwooden means Northern Vietnam ;D, since the south and central regions have already been covered in TAR3. My guesses? Hanoi (TAR3 only visited the airport), Halong Bay (sort of like Krabi) or Sapa (hill tribes).
Can we review the credibility of the New Zealand spoilers, and make sure it's not the TAR: Asia? There's no way we can keep within 40 000 miles if we head down there (see my previous post).

Yeah, I am more excited for this season tehn any for a while (probably season 6, boy did that turn out like crap, except Kris and John).
Not only are the going reverse, which I never thought they would have the balls to do. We are getting so many places taht we haven't scene before.
September 5th can't get her fast enough.I think this makes 43 days left (give or take a day for not knowing how to count. I hope we get two hours (and with it starting that early I am sure we will.
kogs im doing BB updates , i think its the mongolai/china border ? could be just guessing on past picture research
Found an approximate viewpoint (complete with parking lot), but I can't find any text mentions in the parent blog. (source (http://junkyarddog.blogs.com/photos/michael_mccormick_visits_/view_of_hotel_mongolia.html))Nice one !!! :jumpy:
OK, first pitstop spoiled. Check. ......now what do we do for the next few months? :-\
(oh yeah, we can watch BB All Stars!) :groan:
Van Munster took every opportunity to capitalize on signature features of the Northwest while filming this season's premiere.
The contestants arrived on seaplanes, and a fireboat shot arcs of water out of Lake Union in front of a misty city skyline.
Van Munster surveyed the scene from the top of the hill.
"Who is communicating with the fireboat?"
"Brittany is," said a drenched crew member.

See it makes no sense at all :naughtyd:Dustin/Kandice and Tyler/James were in the photos. The descriptions mention Erwin/Godwin, Lynn/Karlyn and a couple. Unless I have missed something, I haven't seen any clear evidence of that couple being Rob and Kim, apart from the assumptions of some posters based on the Paris photos.
The winners can't be decoys ..one of these teams win .. Lyn/Karlyn James/Tyler Kim/Rob .Are you definite about that?
Unless you know something different ? I'm listening :)I don't know something different. It is pure speculation on my part. I don't believe that the couple seen in Finland was actually identified as Rob and Kim. I am applying a reverse assumpion that they were not this couple. This leads to Lynn/Karlyn and Tyler/James being eliminated in Finland and Belarus, with the last 3 eliminated teams being sent on decoy duty in Paris and New York, leaving a final 3 of Erwin/Godwin, Dustin/Kandice and whichever team was unseen in Mauritius (either Peter/Sarah or the Conleys).
Newbie? (:;)
Whats not to believe ? :) the proof is in the pudding :flirt:

Peter looks like he's going to climb Everest; unless he's carrying extra gear for Sarah, I predict half of that backpack will be abandoned by the middle of the race. From the TVGuide article:
We have a spare knee with us, and we're bringing feet we can switch outOK, that shuts me up.
Here's a bit about TAR: Asia which might help us with the American version, from the Today tabloid from Singapore...
While the Asian and US versions will soon wage a ratings battle against each other, the two productions also came close to colliding during filming.
"It's really funny to us now, but when we first realised how close we came, it was quite scary," he said, declining to elaborate on where the near-miss occurred.

FWIW the shot of Sa'eed and Bilal was taken at SeaTac. But we already knew that. ;) My dad was one of the underling architects at the firm that designed it.No Banzai ..

Hi Ginger. Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't New Zealand a country that is part of the continent of Australia?
Just a little repeat: the mileage WAY exceeds 40 000 miles if New Zealand is added; could the spoilers have been TAR: Asia?
I thought TAR:Asia was only going to Asian countries? Would NZ qualify?
(just as I know Puddin is sure Paris is not a decoy), do you mind elaborating on what you know?I can't say .
:luvu:
The pony tail of the girl is to short to be any of the girls in the competition. Not to mention the guy just don't resemble anyone. I would say they are a decoy or someone from the prodution. They can't be decoys they match no team so probably the latter .
I thought TAR:Asia was only going to Asian countries? Would NZ qualify?
I don't recall reading that, can you supply your info source on the route. I did read that the racers would be selected from "Asian" countries (excluding Japan, Australia, NZ, and Middle East).
Sorry for the post frenzy all of a sudden -- do you think the new twist is that both team members have to perform the roadblocks? This would explain why Dustin & Kandice are BOTH performing the one in the pic earlier and/or why both team members are climbing the wall... just a thought.or they are just asking for directions ? post all you want mwooden ! I do ! LOL
OK I'll repost the pictures in the spoiler thread , thanks Neobie !

From the shadows on the Great Wall it does not look like there is much time between the arrival of the first five teams. Even the last place team has the similar shadow patterns. So if the time is right and people are climbing the wall between 4:08PM and 4:39PM that means the teams will be leaving in the early morning at the same hours. (The earlier time estimate won't work since the excercise bit was between 10 and 11AM and then they have drive a food ways to the Great Wall location.
For future reference in spotting teams I spotted the following backpack numbers:
1. Sandra and Peter
4. Lyn and Karlyn
5. Duke and Lauren
9. Rob and Kimberly
Puddin: did anyone spot any backpack numbers for the teams in Paris?
I think we covered the rules that the backpacks weren't allowed on the Eiffel tower ? I'd have to dig back in the main spoiler thread.
ETA: you can see one of Kar/Lyn gathering her backpack ..I think
I know i am just trying to figure or no weather that rule is still in affect becuase if it is its impossible for all final three teams to still have their bags [unless the forth place team get eliminated in the leg before the final] and from the looks of it TJ have the fanny pack so either that rule is gone or Dustin and Kandice get eliminated in Spain [not a second Finland leg, or the missing leg]
lets take it to the spoiler thread and keep this thread for EP2 , OK?
I merged them Kogs .. I think  ?

Found this on a temple in Vietnam: "The temple, acknowledged by the state as an historic site, is a low building. On the tip of the roof are the traditional symbols found on Vietnamese religious structures: two dragons bowing to a flaming disk that represents the sun." The sun is pretty evident in the caps, so it's probably not China.
Spoilerers take note: Vietnam has a Forbidden City of it's own at Hue with dragons everywhere, it's one of the places where Flo broke down in TAR3.
You got that wrong....switch David/Mary and Dustin/Kandice around....DK make F4 while DM make F6.Isn't that what I typed ? its late I'm tired ?

OH maybe we were posting at the same time Marly  ? No problem I'm use to being ignored ;) .QuoteIsn't that what I typed ? its late I'm tired ?LOL...I totally didn't see that post.
I wasn't talking to you puddin I was talking to the guy who mixed the 2 up...I didn't see your post so I was trying to make a correction lol my bad.
James & Tyler are getting a nice editing .. reminds me of Chip & Kim , Uchenna & Joyce BJ & Tyler . They're my pick to win :hearts:
Thanks Chateau . Kogs had a different date for his New Zealand spoiler ..I can't recall what he wote .I guess we wait untill his Holiday is over .
Just a quickie here. From what we know about the teams seen in Kuwait, Mauritius and Finland, I do believe that we will have a NON ELIMINATION leg this week. I know it is early for a NEL, but nothing else makes sense. Still our bumbling boy friends, Tom and Jerry, will be the next to go this week or next.
In Vietnam, the government insisted on viewing daily footage but didn't request any changes or cuts.
Any word on when the next season starts filming? I read somewhere that filming was scheduled to start late 2006/early 2007, but this doesn't give a lot of time for a spring premeire -- last season's spring run started airing in February. Hmm...
:o Think we might have another non-pitstop elimination......... :'(
:o Think we might have another non-pitstop elimination......... :'(Nooo can't be ! We need 7 people to reach Kuwait in atleast 2 more legs before Kuwait !!
Hello,
1. I think the people that asked me for money did have backpacks; don't quite remember.
2. The picture of the cars was at the towers (hence the large tower in the background); there was one car that had yet to arrive when I took that picture.
3. They most likely came from DEL (Delhi, India); based on the times.
Does India (http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php?topic=8610.msg125319#msg125319) work? ..and nice map :) (http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/2562/tar10spoilermapte3lt8.th.jpg) (http://img291.imageshack.us/my.php?image=tar10spoilermapte3lt8.jpg)
Heck, who needs to watch since we know where we are going and when. Only one gap between Vietnam and Kuwait. And about a five-days of missing time. India perhaps?>
I've been posting India as a possable location but no one will listen to me Gman
Did Kim (of Chip & Kim) give away a possible TAR10 location (INDIA) on her "Return of the Racers" blog posting?
...What a surprise to see a second elimination in one night. I would have loved to see more of Vipul and Arti and get their prospective of the race when they visited their homeland."
It's a bit vague, but could mean that TAR is going to India.
HAHA Boingo ! It was umm.. alluded to me that they might have gone to India but I have no proof just something I heard , maybe just passing through ? Nothing of India , New Zealand , Finland nor Belarus or Paris in the intro caps either ..seeing as we have pretty solid spoilers for say Finland & Paris I suppose they are all still open for speculation.. and now we have Egypt ? wowsers ! Who has a minute to count the 13 countries with solid spoilers ?
With Kuwait next, this means we have one less episode than we thought in this stage in the race. I'm throwing Belarus back into the route spec for now -- those Finnish spoilers have been trustworthy to this point.
EP1: Seattle, WA (USA) to Beijing, China
EP2: Beijing, China to Gachuurt, Mongolia
EP3: Gachuurt, Mongolia to Hanoi, Vietnam

Did Phil say 3 NEL's in the first episode? I can't remember if he said that this season or not... ???
Did Phil say 3 NEL's in the first episode? I can't remember if he said that this season or not... ???
I think we just have 3 NEL's still then -- that is, if we have a TBC somewhere too -- for example, something like this (the placement of NEL's is pure spec):
EP1: Seattle, WA (USA) to Beijing, China - ELIM
EP2: Beijing, China to Gachuurt, Mongolia - ELIM
EP3: Gachuurt, Mongolia to Hanoi, Vietnam - ELIM
EP4: Hanoi, Vietnam to Halong Bay, Vietnam - ELIM
EP5: Halong Bay, Vietnam to Chennai, India (JUNE 6-7) - NEL #1
EP6: Chennai, India to Kuwait City, Kuwait (JUNE 8-9) - ELIM
EP7: Kuwait City, Kuwait to Grand Baie, Mauritius (JUNE 11-12) - ELIM
EP8: Grand Baie, Mauritius to Madagascar (June 13-14?) - NEL #2
EP9: Madagascar to Lohja, Finland (JUNE 15-16 - spotted in Finland on JUNE 16) - TBC
EP10: Lohja, Finland to Belarus (June 17-18?) - ELIM
EP11: Belarus to Ourzazate, Morocco (June 19-20?) - NEL #3
EP12a: Ourzazate, Morocco to Barcelona, Spain (JUNE 21-22) - ELIM
EP12b: Barcelona, Spain to Paris, France to New York, NY (USA) (JUNE 23-24)
This also doesn't count Bilal & Saeed's elimination as a "pit stop" elimination. Another interesting thing about this new NEL twist is that it makes an NEL in the middle of the finale pointless, so we won't have one there.
i have no clue where to place this but sarah on tes said the roadblock rule this season is 7 per personI wonder why they changed it ? Who would it benefit? A M/F couple :hallo3

Charlton Heston spent four weeks learning how to drive a chariot(the stuff about a stuntman dying during the chariot race is bogus (http://www.snopes.com/movies/films/benhur.htm)).

But no mention of the latest team eliminated!!!
Happy days! More David and Mary!
Thanks puddin!I can do that :).
One day I hope to grow up to be a real detective! Heee...this is fun!
What if the three teams that are supposedly in the finals (Rob/Kim, Lyns and James/Tyler) are actually the decoy teams, and the other three teams are racing to the finish?
Anyone?
It is still possible that Paris/New York is a spoiler. Rob and Kim showing their clue to jlaw on the flight from Paris to New York is the sort of thing which often indicates a spoiler.QuoteWhat if the three teams that are supposedly in the finals (Rob/Kim, Lyns and James/Tyler) are actually the decoy teams, and the other three teams are racing to the finish?
I'm hoping for the same. Although unlikely, if David/Mary are the "couple" spotted in Finland, then it's still possible Kentucky, Chos and Beauty Queens are the final 3. It does seem strange that the final 3 would fly from Paris to New York together and have to pass through customs prior to the finish. The next team eliminated will determine the true final 3. Please be Rob/Kimberly...
I love this idea--much nicer than seeing my favorite teams go out one by one! :'(Based on the Finland spoiler, if Paris/New York is a decoy, then the next team to be eliminated would be Rob/Kim. If it isn't a decoy, then David/Mary are the next to go.
Certainly most all of the final three guesses are based on the Paris sighting, but we do know J/T and D/K were also seen in Finland, for sure, and either Rob or James might be driving the chariot in Morocco. Let's see...if this a decoy leg, then J/T, Bama's. and R/K can NOT be final 3....
So, thinking out loud here--if D/M, D/K, and the CHO's are final 3, then would J/T have to go out #4, and R/K either #5 or 6, and Bama's either # 5 or 6??? Is that right?? Am I missing something??
Hardly seems possible but it would sure make me one happy camper!
Guess the next elim would tell the story--if it is D/M or CHO's--then Paris is real...But, if it is Bama or R/K, then Paris could be a decoy! (Right?)
Since the Mauritius leg is coming up ..some thoughts
See this is where Izabela (http://www.realitytvtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?s=aa81778ddeb3cd849bd6a0828daffe62&threadid=15419) confuses me and makes me :groan: , she doesn't mention the male/male team here so did she just confuse Mary & David with one of the Chos and maybe there were 6 teams? :
Izabela
We just got back from a holiday in Mauritius and witnessed a detour for TAR on the beach right next to our hotel around 10-11am.
The location was Merville Beach Hotel which is in the North of the island.
We counted 5 couples come and go within about an hour. The detour involved a paddle on a kayak. They went quite far out hence not sure what they did out at sea.
We have some camcorder footage although I don't have it on my PC yet. We were told off by one of the crew for taking it but I think he was just bignoting himself.
Anyway an interesting experience seeing the couples ham it up when supporting each other (or are they really that enthusiastic!?) and all the crew required to film it.
There weren't too many spectators and a majority I don't think knew what the show was
Mauritius was a great holiday BTW. It has a lot of resort hotels - generally getting mostly Europeans in - particularly French and English.
Anyway the couples we saw were a youngish all-girl team (winning), 2nd was another young couple (a guy and girl), there was the token black couple, an asian looking couple, and a geeky looking couple.
The black woman who did the kayaking was absolutely exhausted after the kayak ride and fell on her butt after getting out of it.
I should clarify the above point. She really look p*ssed off and the pair of them weren't in much of a hurry - but we noticed that couples were held up for a couple of minutes and given water before running off to continue the race.
But its all go go go - saw a cameraman take a pee in the sea when he had precious seconds to spare - just thru the camera to someone to hold and went in fully clothed up to his waist keeping his arms in the air so they wouldn't get wet.
Helicopter overhead - it was a really busy hour or so, then they dug up the clue box and left
Over at sucks (http://p085.ezboard.com/fsurvivorsucksfrm23.showMessageRange?topicID=6980.topic&start=201&stop=220) Izabela post's :
Here goes:
Team 1 : f/f as per video
Team 2: m/f as per video and looks like same as kuwait carpark to me
Team 3: m/m i am 80% sure it was same guy as "audition" tape
Team 4: m/f asian male and geeky female but not 100% sure as they were not sitting together and by geeky i mean she reminded me of lori in her stance/appearance and not playing up the the cameras as the first 3 teams. She sat on the sun bed under a tree and just waited quietly on spoke to the black female for a short time.
Team 5: f/f black - personally it looked like they did not want to be there in terms of all the other teams looking so competitive.
Actually we were surprised how little security they did have however judging by everone else watching around us they had no idea what was going on bar 1 couple.
The roadblock happened basically next to Merville Beach Hotel which is known as one of the oldest hotels on the island. It is over an hour's drive from the airport.
We were fairly sure the pitstop was after this roadblock and there are several resort style hotels near by they could have gone to. However they arrived in cars so its possible they could have driven anywhere after that.
About halfway between the airport and Merville is the capital, Port Louis. Good locations here for clues/tasks etc would be Le Caudan waterfront and the markets which are close to each other.
and then (http://p085.ezboard.com/fsurvivorsucksfrm23.showMessage?topicID=6980.topic&index=245)

:welcome: TaRBoY! this is the fun place to be!
I'm afraid that was a different beach/different task--Izabella's appears to have been cut. If you go to page one of this section, you will find a link to her video.

I'm 100% they're NOT decoys.
Look at Lyn's shirt here http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b105/rawalsh/TAR9_Promo2/tar10/IMG_0932.jpg
it's mary's/david's yellow shirt "Friends in Low Places"
Why would mary/david give up their shirt for an eliminated team (suppose Lyn/Karlyn are decoys)?
This is deja vu. I remember searching in Moscow to come up with the right cathedral steeple. :groan:
Now this might just be coincidence but i found it interesting.
At the start in Seattle after Phil says "The last team to arrive.. will be eliminated, teams are then show in this order.
1. Lyn and Karlyn
2. Rob and Kim
3. James and Tyler
4. Dustin and Kandice
Now its highly speculated DK come in forth, fighting couples normally come in second, so do LK win, remember also the best team usually never wins [Tyler and James] so maybe the girls do win it.
yay!!! this gets more fun, maybe ny is like hawaii this year where they do something here then goto a diff cityYes Yes I suppose we don't even have to watch the show now untill the Finale.

Lyn & Karlyn get eliminated tonight according to my sources. Let's see how trustworthy they are.
Unless shirleyf comes up with some solid proof I'm just not buying it. Heck with all the info we have anyone can say what they want.
heres another 3 (http://p085.ezboard.com/fsurvivorsucksfrm23.showMessageRange?topicID=6980.topic&start=1021&stop=1040) post wonder ..a whopping "was about a dozen ppl there", imagine that :hallo17 ?

my cousins best friend was in new york from the 20th to the 27th and saw the finish line and said 2 african american women get first.
thats my reliable source
not at all. it wasnt like it was in an extremley public place but he said their was about a dozen ppl there

in the aol video for nov 12, at the end when tyler goes down first, james says he has a fear of heightsactually James says:
If I were betting my money would be on Tyler & James :nods
They are just nasty vile jealous bitches
Yeah, if they win, it wil be in my opinion the worst ending ever.
They haven't raced well (they currently are tied at this stage with worst average of all teams through the seasons of AR.
And they are so negative towards otehrs.
Hell even Flo & Zach were a better ending. Zach and Flo raced well (for half the race) and Zach raced well for the whole race. And he keep a good attitude during the race and didn't kill Flo (he must be a Saint).
Bama winning, I don't even like to think about that possability.
Eve D &K (who upset me at times) and Rob & Kim (who bicker to much and can be rude) are at least good racers.
In David & Mary's thread, I said who I liked etc, but totally forgot about Bama!!Yeah, if they win, it wil be in my opinion the worst ending ever.

I agree ms, I want them gone SOOOOO bad. The one thing that really pissed me off last night was when they got into the taxi just as that man was going to. I wish I was there to smack them myself! :meow: :knuckles: :meow:
And speaking of Flo & Zack, don't you mean "Prozack"? :lol3: :lol3:

"Which Racer is purchasing a million-dollar house in Hollywood?"
Why, Tyler is!
After seeing what they did in Helsinki I expect that they will break any rule or social protocol that does not involve handcuffs.
After seeing what they did in Helsinki I expect that they will break any rule or social protocol that does not involve handcuffs.
About the Newark taxi question, forgive me Kogs, the answer is probably in your link but I am too lazy to find it:
I suspect we will see something like Bama getting to the JFK taxi rank and saying "F this, look there is a taxi dropping off a passenger over there, lets grab that one" And that taxi was from Newark. But, of course, not in the rank because it would not be allowed to go there.
If they win it's going to be the bitterest $700 I ever made.
Bama sucks. They are tied at leg at with the worst record of any team (including all thosse teams that get eliminated from leg 8 to leg 12).
I would hate if Bama wins. That would make it the worst ending ever in my book.Agree about the Bama's...And what is the worst? If the Cho's hadn't spoonfed them the flight info for out via Jo-burg--they would have missed that flight for sure and would be hours behind on the Finland leg and might not have been able to catch up. Darn it all! (Okay, I know there will be airport bunching, but a girl can dream, can't she?)
How does it look, placement-wise, for Rob/Kim and Tyler/James? None of these teams have really dominated this season, but I assume they are better than Bama.
I would hate if Bama wins. That would make it the worst ending ever in my book.
Just don't want Karlyn to win (actually don't have much problem with Lyn)--I want my winners to have enjoyed the race--not run it with a pickle face'd sense of entitlement!
Karlyn looks more piss-faced than Lyn, but I wouldn't give Lyn a million either. They are both miserable people.
Thanks mswood for the statistics. Too bad we won't see a final with T/J, R/K and D/K. That would have rocked...
Hey Mswood, I'm getting curious about all these stats you are making for the teams. I always wanted to have some such form of information. But I never got around to putting it together. What I am wondering about is what is the algorithm you have for the calculation?
I suspect it is some way of averaging finish positions but my mind starts going to different directions thinking about how to deal with diminishing number of teams as the race goes on and on how the competition starts to get stiffer as the race goes on.
Is there some way to re-normalize the averages to build in a component of excellence for racing against high-powered competitors?
"In a season of twists, we saved the biggest one for last.. Tune in next week to see the final TEAM race to the finish line!" Oh I can hear it already! " Maybe the BQ's are SO far ahead of the other teams in the finale..we just don't see them and the guy who took the pictures missed them?" or " Maybe the twist is they bring back the 3 last eliminated teams? Kentucky/Cho's/ BQ's to race to the finish and in a surprise twist Rob/Kim , Bama's and Tyler/James are eliminated?"
Nah.
Kentucky/Cho's/ BQ's to race to the finish and in a surprise twist Rob/Kim , Bama's and Tyler/James are eliminated?"
Puddin, I think people are afraid of the possability. On a regular leg, teams often get a chance to really build ups ome distance between other teams.
yeah, but are you sure the confessional is in France? :nodsNo I'm not , thats what I'm looking for.
The Bamas conf is an insider clip (http://video.cgi.cbs.com/vplayer3/play.pl?type=rm&width=480&height=360&feat=vplayer&adtype=pre&arena=video&prod=innertube&id=121316&ord=80888.54755114257) afterall
Maybe their are two Yields in leg 11, like a " twist?"Oooh--I hope not! There are only supposed to be two yields, and since Mary confirmed that there was an unaired yield on the Vietnam leg--we should be done!
Do you guys have a special thread for spoiler of AR11.??

MoJo FOREVER! :jumpy:
As for the Chos being gone instead of Bama, while several could've done without Bama, at least it's official that an all-female team will make the F3 for the first time ever. Like 'em or not, it's about time!I know, but WHY did it have to be BAMA??? They really don't deserve that title, and no other team will be able to have that title. :(
I can dream can't I?
Monday on the Early Show--THE ELIMINATED TEAM IS THERE!!!

I also complimented her on the Insider video of her family at Thanksgiving and said how cute her children were. But when I said to Karlyn that we were sorry not to have seen anything from her, she said that she had never been asked to do a video by CBS....
I vaguely remember them saying something about an hour and a half....OUCH! how embrassing :grins:

Not only that, but the winners were more arbitrary than usual: Former drug-addicted boy-toys James and Tyler arrived at Charles de Gaulle first, and were told they'd never get on the first flight to New York, so they got tickets on a flight that left more than an hour later. Then bickering breeders Rob and Kimberly showed up and begged their way onto the first flight. Next thing you know, even though there was a huge waiting list, James and Tyler also squeezed onto the first flight. How did that happen? Something smelled fishy, and it was: Tyler told "The Early Show" that producers spoke to a manager at the airline and got them on the first flight because they were the first at the airport.
and oops there it is (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/12/11/earlyshow/series/amazingrace/main2245414.shtml?CMP=ILC-SearchStories) !!
They actually talked to the manager, because we were the first team at the airport," Denk, 29, told The Early Show co-anchor Harry Smith. "They talked to the manager and got approval and got seats on that flight and we were told there were 30 people on the waiting list."

why cant these online articals get stuff right?
that was interesting to read that little tibit*snort* and with tongue in cheek ......I had to laugh when I read this. Sounds like TPTB didn't want the Lyn's to win either
They realized that they need 2 competitive teams to race around NYC and to the finish line so that they might hope for an exciting, TV ready, finish. Letting Rob and Kim on the plane by themselves makes for a boring finish. Paring Rob and Kim with Bama makes a boring finish. It may be possible that Rob and Kim suprised everyone (producers included) by wrangling a spot on a full plane. That set off a scramble to get another team on the flight.
Tyler and James were popular with the audience though, along with or after the Chos (for some reason), BQs and Kentucky they were by far favorites. They were certainly not "unrootable". They had an interesting story to tell and they were good racers, besides also being nice guys. I don't think "the race" thinks anything at all of that sort. They probably want an all-female team to win but there isn't much they can do about it. The BQs screwed themselves up and 'Bama sucked overall. This outcome was probably the most feel-good ending this show has seen in 5 seasons, but that's my opinion.
I don't think the producers interfered with the flight. Color me naive or whatever, but it would be to risky if it ever came out that one team got screwed like that. Maybe giving 'Bama the tickets was just a misunderstanding that was (thankfully) cleared up.

Well thats just you and a few of these boards with what a few thousand members, the public was board to tears with the outcome. Tyler and James were pussys they were scared of two blonde Beauty Queens. for goodness sake. They didnt have a interesting story they were boring just like every other male team the worst part is that they were Models. Amazing Race has this great problem they always cast a group of great teams but in the end NONE of those teams makes the final three, and i really think this is the reason ratings are always low [aside from 2 seasons when ratings went up, and then up a second time, Chip and Kim, Rob and Amber, Uchenna and Joyce Thanks]
And there really is no reason to post back "I liked James and Tyler, they were popular, look at the pole" it was boring, the race has become predicatable, Producers were NOT happy with the outcome becuase if they were they would have casted alpha males in All Stars, and they didnt they did not want alpha males becuase they are boring and predictable.
The fact that these two models admitted the producers got them tickets proves they didnt even win on their own, at least Uchenna and Joyce are smart enought not to admit it!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate to say it but Rob and Kim[Gross i know]won this race, the same way Romber won Season 7.
from this interview atIf the wording of this is correct.

Shireese: When you guys went to the Orlly airport and they told you that you were going to have to go back to the Charles De Gaulle airport, did you know then that you pretty much were not going to win?
Lyn: No, and actually the decision to go to Orlly didn’t affect the outcome of the race. There was some behind the scenes issues with the tickets.
Karlyn: It wasn’t that cut and dry. Actually the lady issued the tickets to James & Tyler. I don’t know what the issue was, but she took them from them, and gave them to us. And then some other lady came over and said something to her in French. We don’t know what. We probably need to learn French…They took the tickets back from us, and gave them to James & Tyler. None of that was shone. So that was edited out.
Lyn: Then she put a whole line of stand-by customers on after them.
Karlyn: They tried to make it seem like it was full and it wasn’t. We don’t know what happened. We just felt like [Tyler & James] didn’t want us on that plane. They did what they could to keep us off of that plane.

MSWOOD, in your otherwise cogent note you stated "Dustin & Kandice worried about from leg 1, that was Tyler & James. Yet they were so worried and scared that they didn't even use the Yield on them." It is clear from this that "they" refers to Kandice and Dustin. Well, Kandice and Dustin arrived third to the Yield. Their options were to Yield Lyn/Karlyn or Yield nobody. Since Tyler and James preceded them to the Yield, they could not yield Tyler/James.
