Ready To Go - Panic! At The Disco
Still no luck on SB Argentina. There are churches named Santa Barbara, and a street in Salta named SB, but the only towns I could find were either wide spots in the road or outhouses in the wilderness. Maybe the producers will put up a sign for an "amazing" SB.
Could you please upload the photos...?

It's in the department of Cafayate, which is where Neobie placed the skydiving.

Argentine empanadas are often served at parties as a starter or main course, or in festivals. Shops specialize in freshly made empanadas, with many flavors and fillings.
The dough is usually of wheat flour and butter with fillings differing from province to province: in some it is mainly chicken in others beef (cubed or ground depending on the region), perhaps spiced with cumin and paprika, while others include onion, boiled egg, olives, or raisins. Empanadas can be baked (Salta style) or fried (Tucuman style). They may also contain ham, fish, humita (sweetcorn with white sauce) or spinach; a fruit filling is used to create a dessert empanada. Empanadas of the interior regions can be spiced with peppers. Many are eaten at celebrations.
In restaurants where several types are served, a repulgue, or pattern, is added to the pastry fold. These patterns indicate the filling. The fill of the Empanada determines the form of the repulgue, for example a cylindrical form would suggest a chocolate prunes filling. In Tucuman, this type of Empanadas was banned, since, in the opinion of the local public, the tender of their taste was too avant-garde.
Tucumán Province
This province hosts The National Empanada Festival, in the city of Famaillá.
The only varieties are: beef, mondongo, chicken, with the latter two being the most authentic.
Preferably cooked in a clay oven in a tray of fat, or in a gas oven
The empanada Tucumana is hearty - the meat filling being minced into 3 mm pieces, then partially cooked and allowed to cool while it absorbs juices. Cooking is finished along with the final baking.
In addition to meat, spring onions, pimento and vinegar are added. Potatoes, peas, and olives are rarely used in the Tucuman preparation.
The dough is simply prepared from flour, water, and lard.
A traditional celebratory meal in Tucumán might include: empanadas, locro Tucumano and meat tamales, and to drink wine from Amaicha del Valle, or Colalao del Valle. Cheese from Tafí del Valle with honey and/or bitter orange syrup as a dessert.
Salta Province
Empanadas from Salta are called salteñas, and are distinct from Tucumán-style empanadas as they are smaller and baked without the addition of fat or oil. Typical fillings include carne suave or picante - beef or spicy beef, cheese, ham, or chicken. The beef versions typically have potato, egg, red pepper, and green onion with the meat.
These pictures, I will spec is the Route Info task (or Detour) located inside the Patios de Cafayate Hotel & Spa in Cafayate, Argentina
Thanks CBS!! :lol3:
HA! Spoilers galore!! A route Info, the RB we had, but the Pitstop too?? :ty4posting
Thank you SO much WP!
PBP? ??? We always have a show disc thread, I'll put it up Sunday.
New video on CBS.com has Brendon/Rachel, Dave/Rachel, and Art/JJ skydiving at the same time, and with no other team in sight. We've now seen these three groups in Argentina, with Mark/Bopper missing:
Brendon/Rachel, Dave/Rachel, Art/JJ (could be first or second group)
Nary/Jamie, Vanessa/Ralph, Elliot/Andrew (could be first or second group)
David/Cherie, Kerri/Stacy, Misa and Maiya, Joey/Danny (most likely last group)
The gap between the Nary and Vanessa skydiving photos is 6min, and that bewteen Vanessa and Elliot 18min. I know it's possible the skydiving pictures were taken at different altitudes, but I suppose that's where Mark/Bopper most likely fits?

Two hours is a bit too far to fall behind on a 11km stretch of highway... I'm guessing it's a 3-3-5 split then?

it shows JJ skydiving then Rachel then the other Rachel lol. Not sure how to embed its on the eonline twitter feed along with a story with Rachel and Brendon
My spec (based on multiple things) of who is safe this episode in no particular order:

Brendon/Rachel
Vanessa/Ralph
Nary/Jaime
Elliot/Andrew
Dave/Rachel
Possibly in danger:
Kerri/Stacey
Misa/Maiya
Joey/Danny
Cherie/David
Unknown:
Art/JJ
So are they doing Kandace's reverse roadblock? <3
Ford’s sponsorship includes on-air components featuring the new 2013 Taurus in the premiere episode, when teams begin the race in Santa Barbara, California’s wine country. After receiving their first clue from host Phil Keoghan, the 11 teams jump into a new Ford Taurus where they receive additional information about their first destination via the “MyFord Touch” system in each vehicle. Teams will drive their cars to Los Angeles International Airport before departing on their first leg to Argentina.
Ford’s Fiesta and Focus will also make appearances in additional episodes this season. Also, one lucky team will win two new 2013 Ford Taurus vehicles for finishing in first place in an upcoming leg of the Race.
Is that Mark I see behind Misa/Maiya? ???
Possibly in danger:

But didn'tShow contentMark & Bopperget eliminated in Italy? So that list would be incorrect.
The list is simply a speculation on who is safe for the 1st episode. The safe teams are more or less ones that have been spotted later on in the race, or teams that from the time stamp in the pictures are clearly ahead of others.
Revised start times for tonight's CBS programs: 60 Minutes (7:21pm ET), Amazing Race (8:21pm ET), The Good Wife (9:21pm ET) and CSI: Miami (10:21pm ET) due to CBS Sports live coverage of the PGA Tour's Northern Trust Open.
^^ THAT is hysterical!!
If no one see my comments on the episode in the other thread, I'll move them over.
I believe the only other time we ever had a preview of the season like that was back in the TAR 5-6-7 period, when we got three full Races aired in 11 months. I don't recall CBS ever doing that on any other occasion.
And I now officially deem the Rachels: The Red Queen and the White Queen! Let their battles begin!

Joey 'fitness' is literally can;t handle the stick, but he's doing it anyway... :duno:
I wonder Does anyone know why Andrew and Ralph had to preform the road block?
I thought both members had to be capable of taking the wheel? I can't remember if Luke drove or not though.
Great eye Loverocked!!
Andrew is 190 lbs, about 86 kg, I wonder what was the maximum weight?

Edited to add: I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, but it appears the show is going to continue to not have a sign at the pit stop mat, nor likely to see traditional clue boxes based on this episode. It wouldn't surprise me if we don't even see one traditional clue box this time out.
I've never heard of such an instruction on the first roadblock of the Race. I had noticed something as a Note on the clue, but I hadn't had a chance to replay the episode and freeze-frame that to see what it said.
I haven't seen anything to explain that curious restriction either, and I'd rather not guess. Was there anything on the insider videos about this?

by the way, did you saw new clue box on TAR 20?

Additional note on the roadblock clue:
Andrew and Ralph MUST do this Roadblock
Maybe it's to ensure that everyone doing the task can drive out to their partner (what with the car being stick)? I think Andrew was doing the driving for his team the whole leg.
What about a medical condition?
I don't know if any of them have one, but it's a viable reason for being excluded from a skydiving task

Or, what if it's because he's a professional athlete. I know he's not on the level of let's say a top-tier NFL player, but many, if not most, professional athletes have clauses in the their contract that prohibit them taking part in "risky" physical activities.
I don't know where I should post this, but I created a graph (If you guys don't already have one) showing positions of the racers throughout the leg.
That's really interesting jimmer. I hope you can make one for each episode!

Keep up the good work jimmer... you can start a new thread under the TAR 20 Discussions... ;)
And most teams had no trouble finding SB Argentina. So everybody was probably given specific driving directions for that leg.
