what about racing around the Ring of Fire area from Australia to Philippines, then to Japan, then to Alaska and the US Pacific, then to Central America, then to Chile, then to New Zealand and finally back to Australia. I wonder if those areas will cause another TAR disaster curse?! That's shocking. :ascaredwhat TAR disaster curse?
To be honest, I doubt New Zealand will appear unless it's in a role similar to how Singapore was used this season, or how Canada's been used in the US version - it's just no remote enough for us.
what TAR disaster curse?here's your answer: http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,21725.0.html
No wish lists in the spec thread please!
anyone in the Melbourne/gelong area go to this location to see if there is anything suspisons
aka the active tv offices
there could be some teams that got pass the audition stage
With the start and end cities in Season One being Melbourne and Perth, you would expect places like Brisbane or Sydney to be used next time.
However, I think it will be highly likely that the race will once again travel a full circle up to Europe and back again, without crossing either the Atlantic or Pacific. With that in mind, I would be surprised if they began and ended on the East Coast as flights up to Asia and elsewhere would be more expensive than the East.
Seeing as Perth is the only decent sized settlement on the East Coast, I am almost certain that it will be used as one of either the start or finish line. And I also doubt that TARAus would use the same city in the final episode twice, so my money's on Perth being the starting city.

Dom El,
My Australia maps have Perth located on the west coast of Australia for a long time. Has it moved?

Fixed! I'm not a stupid person but I always have to take a few seconds to remember which way is East and which is West. Perhaps I got dropped on a very specific part of my head as a child.. :duno:
The only info we have is that applications were opened in mid-July.
The timeline for the first season is as follows:
Applications open: 5th August 2010.
Applications close: 17th September 2010.
Race began: 5th November 2010.
The timeline for the second season so far is as follows:
Applications open: 19th July 2011.
Applications closed: 19th August 2011. (I think)
:welcome: to RFF tarauslover!
We will welcome all cast info later on, but please remember that you put a team at risk of elimination if they are identified BEFORE the start...so no cast names or photos until AFTER the race is underway, okay?
Thanks, looking forward to more later!
Thanks and yep sure no more info on them but they may be 2 males who just both happen to look emo/punk/goth. Also I am pretty sure this season we will see an Aboriginal/Indigenous Australian team.

The rumours of Malaysia as the first leg...Malaysia 1st leg was on my wish list
FYI. Not sure if it was anything but I saw 3 women in Darling Harbour Sydney yesterday afternoon with black t-shirts on with big red Amazing Race Australia Logos on the back (same as my avatar). It had Sydney 2011 underneath and a "Proudly Supported by Tourism New South Wales" logo.
One woman had a clipboard. They were in no rush to get anywhere. It was close to the Entertainment Centre.
Possibly a local race :duno:

That clipboard suggests that it may have been a trial run for a leg (probably the first or last one) of ARAus 2.
Saw the same in Manly today!!
Weird.... :duno:
Pictures guys pictures!!
And ummmm "hi I am a big fan, what's going on?"

Well wait till your flag carrying airline get's grounded and see how you like it. :snicker:Yes,peach wait until delta is grounded
I just meant we were not hearing much about it in our news here, that's why I posted the article. sheesh.I don't recall an airline sponsor in the first season. It just depends on if they have pre-booked tickets for 2 specific flights or not (Qantas included), which is quite common on first legs.
And if Quantas is a sponsor, then that could be interesting...

LAOAG CITY, Oct. 20 (PIA) — Get ready for season 5 of the reality game show The Amazing Race Asia as it goes to Ilocos Norte.
The municipalities of Burgos, Bangui and Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte will be the show’s trail for season 5 which will be aired in next year’s episode.
The US-based reality show chose the seven great wonders Ilocos Norte for the utilization of the shows’ venue.

The Amazing Race Asia Season 5 goes to Ilocos Norte
These spots include the Kaangrian falls, Avis falls, The Cape Bojedour which is thehighest light house in Asia, the famous Kapurpurawan rock formation all from Burgos, the Patapat bridge, the beaches of Pagudpud, and the first windmills in Asia located in Bangui.
Mayor Chrisente Garcia of Burgos said, “the team of the show were mesmerized with the tourist spots in our place and decided to shoot the episodes of the show here, upon the initiative of our provincial governor.”
“This is good because this will also be part of promoting tourism in our place,” he added.
The seven stop-overs in the place compliment the component and the game orientation of the show.
Basically, the structure of the race is for the teams to travel to different locations by following the route information, perform some various tasks, and checking in at the Pit Stop.
Teams normally complete all the tasks and check in at the Pit Stop before they are eliminated. Occasionally, on an elimination leg, if all other teams have checked in and the last team is very far behind, Route Markers may instruct them to go directly to the Pit Stop without completing the rest of the leg.
Milagros Gonzales, Chief of Department of Tourism Field office in Ilocos Norte, together with the mayor of Burgos, is currently having their field inspection to places where the show will commence.
The participants for the competition will be arriving this December to start the race. (ANL/CJD-PIA 1 Ilocos Norte)
December would fit if it was to be one of the last destinations.

But it says December and they haven't even had applications for season 5. :duno:yes and that why it may be tar au 2
Laoag City will not be frist destanation because of lack of direct flights between australia and the philapeens

They can take a flight from Australia to Manila. Then take a domestic flight from Manila to Laoag or take a 12-13 hour bus.

there are very limarted direct flights to Manila(ie one daliy flight) but maybe teams can fly via sigapoure,KL or jakarta
I think 1st leg is possible Manila(easy to transmit)...since they visit Legazpi city on Nov 19th(as 2nd leg).
the producers have listened and are still coping task and legsI think 1st leg is possible Manila(easy to transmit)...since they visit Legazpi city on Nov 19th(as 2nd leg).
Legaspi again? Will this be TARA all over again? I hope they'll just go to Ilocos Norte or Cebu.
Time to stay alert.... we should be getting close!
Last night I was watching revenge and I saw another ad. It was similar to the first one except for they ran past a meat pie :lol:Random
There has been an advertisement the past three nights during My Kitchen Rules. I saw the meat pie one, and the Mona Lisa one, and I think there might possibly have been another one too, but I'm not sure. :duno:
Do we have a date for the Premiere yet??Sadily not yet , but i will find ny info on it
do you think we going lonodon
There is still a chance of a that may start in London and end in Paris (or vice versa). We don't have heaps of info around this time.do you think we going lonodon
No, their just using recognizable locations around the world for their promos.
Anyone know when the cast reveal is, at least?A London stopover could be possible especially if they're flying out to Cuba there may be more connecting flights from Heathrow?

"still a chance" is in fact a remote one. The start is likely to be somewhere in Asia or Oceania to allow teams first leg easy access to the Philippines. In fact, our timeline has it in Sydney. The finish has been rumored to be in the Brisbane and Fraser Island area. That's a long way from Paris or London, as you who live in Sydney certainly know. A stopover in London on the way to Cuba is a possibility.
but isn't that too soon for not showing any signs of website update, contestant reveal, etc.. :duno:It's just speculation at the moment but Channel 7 often do things at the last minute cause they wait to see what other channels are showing on the same timeslot. I think in the US isnt known well in advance but its different for Aus.
or they just want to wait till the last minute?
April 18th as a possible start seems unlikely. They haven't revealed the cast yet and that usually happens a month before the Race premiere. Or maybe they're just doing things in a different way for this year.
Can;t wait for the Canada legs! It will be the first ever pitstop in Canada after 28+ seasons of the various versions -.-I cant belive it took this long

There’s no airing of The Amazing Race this week due to CBS’s broadcast of the Academy of Country Music Awards (yawn!), but the show resumes here on Seven next week, April 11.
However from Wednesday April 18, it moves to 10:30pm.
Could Seven be launching The Amazing Race Australia before it?
The Amazing Race Australia
Join Grant Bowler, as 22 Aussies get ready to conquer the world for the second time when The Amazing Race Australia returns.
12 teams stand ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime but only 11 will make it past the starting line.
The adventure will see teams crisscross the globe, unsure of what challenges lie ahead. What they do know is that the race will be fastpaced and unrelenting. It will test their ability to work together as a team, challenge their personal relationships and provide life-changing experiences. Along the way they’ll confront fears, develop confidence, experience new cultures and make lifelong friends.
Coming soon.

:gaah: After an almost flawless first season (only marred by the boot order), they're determined to start this season off terribly. Here's an idea; if you only want eleven teams in the race, then only cast the eleven most interesting teams, and save the twelfth one the humiliation and trouble of going through casting and leaving their jobs and family only to not even take part in the race!
Me too...I can't imagine shopping, packing, repacking, leaving your job with joy and excitement...all for that. It was the WORST thing TAR ever did, I hated it with a passion. CRUEL, and NOT FUN for viewers to watch. I almost deserted that season....

I could not have said it better myself.
*Respect*
I'm still waiting for my time on the amazing race US, and if that happened to me, I'd probably go berzerk. I'd be fine being the first eliminated, at least I get to experience it to some extent. But this is just overly cruel and it.... ADDS....NOTHING!
Eric and Lisa were given the unusual option of not going to Elimination Station.
Some bad new, TAR Aus 2 will not be starting next week. The Titanic series is on in the Wednesday time slot before TAR US :'(
Not sure why people are so interested in the Titanic, we all know what happens in the end!

Does anybody know how long the Titanic series is, and for how many weeks is it going to air? I suppose that TARA 2 will air after that, hold it any longer and people will start asking whats going on!Intrasting theory
Also, I was having a look at the correlation between the last filming date and the first air date for the US season. The average gap is about 6 months, although a few seasons had a shorter gap - Based on this we could say that the gap should be a maximum of 7 months, which even seems a bit long for me - Depending on the titanic run we could be seeing the race very soon, as filming reportedly ended on 13th of December - That means that we should be seeing it in May, or at worst early June!!!!
Cant wait, should be a great season - Even though im a 15 year old aussie i still love the american version a little bit more than the australian one - In the meantime, go Mark & Bopper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if its accurate but I think that it could work out. Also, if TARA 2 replaces titanic in the same timeslot, it would be followed by TAR 20... would get the viewers up for the last few episodes!
Based on history my theory should be pretty good, fingers crossed!

For what it's worth, the line about 12 teams being cut down to 11 has been removed. Either TVNZ is in strife for exposing the twist before Channel 7 could, or they've made an error.

Spoiler: TVNZ is already promoting the second season of The Amazing Race Australia as “Coming soon.”
“Join Grant Bowler, as 22 Aussies get ready to conquer the world for the second time when The Amazing Race Australia returns.
“12 teams stand ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime but only 11 will make it past the starting line.”
That either means one team is eliminated in a starting line challenge, or someone has an almighty accident before they can even get going. I’m tipping it’s the former.
Seven is promoting the show too, but there’s no start date yet with Titanic in the Wednesday timeslot next week.
I think i know where the race is starting basded on the cast photoYou missed some too! It's Woolloomooloo :lol3:
Garden island near Woollmooloo (how much double O's are there)
I think i know where the race is starting basded on the cast photoSorry for double posting, but I just realised that the photo was taken at Mrs. Macquarie's Chair. Garden Island doesn't have a grassy patch that faces out to the Opera House and could produce that perspective.

This is a far-out hypothesis, but I seem to remember something on either an Amazing Race or Amazing Race Asia where a task was to maneuver a car out of what essentially was a puzzle. The screenshot marked 0:38 looks like it might be that sort of task.

Thanks for the vids! They're great! I hadn't seen James & Sarah's - they seem hilarious!
Possibly a NEL with bag confiscation? Promo of James and Sarah with them checking in with what looks like a small backpack (strap is different to their big packs) and plastic bag.
Also some sort of pot stacking task? Hairdressers shown

2011. Amazing Race. Cuban Episode. Reality TV Show. 55 minutes. XDCam. Active TV - Cuba Films Productions. Australia-Canada-Cuba.
80% of the screen caps you posted were also in the first season's credits. The only one I noticed that was different was the Tower Bridge.
I guess it's India?
same as above, but more detail inside...
Stonehenge, England
Canada, Vancouver..?!?
not sure about this one
Turkey.. or Dubai...
Shanghai, China
China..?!
Cuban coastline..?!?
China streets..?!
The one marked :40/:45 is most probably Zhujaijiao, the canal capital of China near Shanghai and site of some major tasks in AR16.It's Venice. You can tell by the blade on the gondola.
Once again, the Aussies have done it! What a great intro. The green screen effects are pretty obvious but it still looks fantastic.
I'm interested to see how the voting U-turn turns out in this season, because it sounds like a terrible idea..
but from travelling a lot myself, I know that often the most difficult places away you think everything operates the same, people speak the same language, they kinda do the same thing, and you can really get tripped up because the systems are just slightly different.

Perhaps a reference toShow contentCanada?
That's true, but Canada is hardly speak english in most of their regions, mainly French, but yeah it could also be there..
Different with england where australian ancestors were from there, they share the same routine and and operates the same, but there's a slightly different system on how australian and british work their life,

Amazing Race Australia 2012
Philippine Airlines will kick off the 2012 series of Channel 7’s popular The Amazing Race Australia tomorrow night, after the airline’s Sydney staff raced around the clock last November to get the first challenge underway.
The program sent almost 65 contestants and crew to the Philippines - the first stop in the global challenge which will see them race around the world for $250,000 prize money.
Transferring the group was a challenge in itself, with the airline receiving a last minute booking for 20 return airfares, 45 one-way fares and more than 500 kilograms of camera gear.
But the team got away smoothly, before touching down in Manila to face a tough challenge at a village fiesta and the most exhausting race to the pit stop yet.
The episode airs on Channel 7 tonight at 9pm.

Wouldn't the US be impossible after Cuba?
