Okay, BARflies lunch first.

I'm not worried about CHATEAU. Having met him in person at last year's TARCON XI, he looks like a hearty type. I am more worried about our Southern belle in the cold north. However, my weather spies tell me that the big problems yeaterday were at Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta, where 3 inches of snow caused flight delays of 2 to 6 hours and total chaos in the terminals due to 200 cancellations. It was 38 degrees here in New Jersey, so she would have gotten warm coming north. Let's hope that Peach made it to NYC.
This morning it's a cheery 22 degrees and not expected to vary a lot. When Peach hits the line at Stitch, it will be 22 degrees. At midnight it will have dropped to 16 degrees.

It really varies, week to week. I typically use mininova.org and that's usually pretty good. But sometimes private trackers can be faster, if they get it out. I use funfile.org. But you have to sign up for that.
I will post on this thread (if ok) when I find one that is active and valid.

PREVIOUSLY ON .. THE AMAZING RACE:
Eleven teams left Los Angeles in a Race of 30,000 miles across 4 continents. Teams had trouble with animals, vehicles, taxi drivers and U-Turns (several key Race moments shown). Eight teams fell by the wayside. Father/daughter Ron/Christina began the Race on a mission, but discovered they had a lot of issues to work on. Eventually they found common ground and their newfound harmony was reflected in their performance. Grandson Nic and 68 year old grandfather Don had several close calls, but Don's wide array of talents (masonry, mining, milking) and Nic's picking up the load kept them in the game. Newly dating TK/Rachel maintained calm attitude throughout, enjoying each other and the experience. But when it mattered most, their competitive spark propelled them into the Final Three.
In tonight's Finale, one of these three teams will win $1 million dollars, and The Amazing Race.

Ron/Christina, 9:47 am, CLUE: Fly to your final destination city, Anchorage.
Phil: They'll make their way to 6th Avenue Outfitters, to pick up gear and a clue.
C conf: We're going to keep our position, #1.
$392 for the last leg of the Race.
TK/Rachel, 10:30 am.
TK conf: Every team has its way to be successful. For us, it's being calm.
Airport, R/C, China Air.
Nic/Don, 10:37 am.
Nic conf: I don't know anyone at his age that can do this.
Don: When I was a kid, I fished and hunted every day! I'm experienced!
Nic: Then you'll be in charge.
Christina gets tix and a free upgrade in seats and the lounge (where they have internet access).
TK/Rachel get the same tickets.
Nic/Don arrive at airport ... same tickets.
Non-stop.

Based on teh time team's made in back to Taipei and when they checked in Both Tk & Rachel and Nicolas & Donald do that half of the day faster then Ronald & Christina. Shows how important getting an earlier train was.

The other two teams can't find Ron/Chris, who are learning about Anchorage on the internet, from the China Air lounge.
They're freaking out, thinking R/C may have obtained a better flight.
R/C come out from the lounge and the other 2 teams are relieved.
EQUALIZED.
Flight leaves on time.
Airplane confessionals of all three teams.
Plane lands, during the daytime.
Teams line up 1-2-3 at the front of the plane.
Ron/Chris run, first place, for a taxi.
The three teams are headed for 6th Ave Outfitters.

First to the Outfitters, R/C.
CLUE: Find Ship Creek Boat Launch.
Phil: At the waterfront, their next clue.
Christina's cabbie knows where it is.
Ron: We're gonna do fileting of fish! I hope I don't cut myself!
TK/R in 2nd, get CLUE and fish-fileting gear.
TK to cabbie: You know where it is?
Cabbie, dryly: I think so.
**ominous music plays**
Nic/Don only a couple of minutes behind.
Ron/Chris, DETOUR.
Phil: Two tasks performed by fisherman: Cut the cod, or grab the crab.
Cod: Cut cod until you find a clue hidden inside one of the fish.
Crab: Jump into the hold of a boat, with 500 crabs, search through nipping crabs for one marked with Race colors. Teams could find themselves in a pinch.

Ron: Christ they're huge!
(Yeah, and they're decked in ice, too!)
Ron: No job for a city slicker.
TK/Rachel's cabbie drove them the wrong way.
Fortunaetly they figured to ask for directions and only lost a few minutes.
Ron: Get out of my way. I'm not good with knives!
Christina found the CLUE!
Travel by taxi and boat to 20-Mile Glacier.
Phil: Next clue is on the top of this glacier. They have to climb, to get it.

TK/Rachel choose crabs. (No surprise to anyone who saw the previews.)
They jump into the hold.
TK: This is an experience, huh!?
Rachel quickly gets pinched and screams.
Ow, ow, OW!
Meanwhile, Nic gets his bag back at the shop.
They head back to the Detour site.
TK, bitten: Maybe we should cut the fish!?
Nic/Don decide they'll cut fish when they get back.
Rachel shrieks as a crab takes her shoe off.
They hold different crabs up into the air. Eww!
Nic/Don happy to see TK/Rachel still at the Detour.
TK: Found it!!
TK/R leave in 2nd place.
Nic/Don madly filet fish.
Don: Now get in there and start looking!
Nic: By my hand?
He finds the clue almost immediately.
They leave in last.

Driving along the highway, Ron/Christina see the glacier.
TK/Rachel comment that R/C have a 20 or 25 minute lead.
At the glacier, Chris: Please say a prayer for us!
The speedboat rushes them across the river to the glacier.
C conf: Being able to run this Race with my dad is a dream come true. It's been an amazing experience, drawing closer to one another.
Ron: I'm pumped!!
TK and Rachel are having taxi troubles. He wipes his head in disgust.
Rachel: TK, try and stay calm.
Finally the driver figures out where to go.
(It's not like the winning team has ever benefited from other teams' taxi problems or anything!)
TK/Rachel reach the river and get into the speedboat.
Rachel conf: We've had so much fun together. Can't ask for anything more.
TK conf: We got to see the world. Things you never would have the opportunity. So many stories to tell.

Ron: Full of fear!
Ron: It was very intimidating, a 90 degree angle going up.

Ron seems to be doing fine.
Chris loses footing.
TK/Rachel's boat approaches.

Ron makes it up quickly.
Chris, not so much.
Ron: You can do it!
Chris, struggling: I'm trying!
She slips.
Chris: Daddy!

Chris: Good job, Daddy!
CLUE: Take a helicopter to Merrill Field.
Phil: Across the wilderness to this field, then by taxi to Goose Lake Park, where the next clue awaits.
Ron: What an exilirating day!
Ron/Chris look down from the helo and see TK/Rachel and Nic/Don neck-and-neck for 2nd.

Tk/Rachel land and get in their taxi.
Voice: The Roadblock's our only hope.
CLUE, Ron/Christina: FINAL ROADBLOCK. Who wants to relive their experience on the Race?
Phil: They'll find a field of objects they've encountered. With stress at an alltime high, they have to put 10 specific items on a stage that matches one from each leg of the Race. Three animals or byproducts. One u-turn. Two transportaition w/wheels. One must be a detour, one must have a stick. (Too many to write at the speed he's reading.) Only one gruop of 10 items fulfills the test. Once all 10 items are properly on the stage, they'll get their next CLUE.
Christina will do it.
Ron conf: I get senior moments!

TK/Rachel get their Roadblock Clue, and Rachel will do it.
TK and Ron share pleasantries as Rachel gets started.
Christina talks aloud trying to remember what happened in Lithuania.
Nic/Don arrive at the Roadblock.
Nic will do the task.
Don stands with TK and Ron, and tries not to act worried.
Don: He's got a good memory!

Chris seems to get confused by "animal byproducts" as the editing shows a man, and milk. (Camel's milk in a gourd, of course!)
She takes Croatia, which she had correct, OFF the stage. She's getting frustrated.
Now Christina has 4 incorrect.
Cut to Ron, Don and TK.
Ron: Nobody has an edge. It's a very close Race.
Nic looks flummoxed.

Nic: Stumped.

Chris is standing in front of a U-Turn sign (spoilers ... that's what you saw)
Chris: I suck.
Rachel: Tandem bikes, Ireland. Milk, Burkina. Gun, Croatia. Blackberry, Italy.
Rachel: Done?
Box/Judge: YES!!
Rachel gets her CLUE.
Chris looks dejected.
Nic looks flustered.
CLUE: Cook's eye view of the sleeping lady ...
Phil: They have to find the statue of Captain Cook.
The taxi driver seems to know where TK/Rachel need to go.
Finally, Christina finishes.
Ron: Good job!
She's crying, thinking she let him down.
Ron: It's okay! Good job!
To taxi, Chris: This is for a million dollars! You know that taxi? It'd be great if we could beat that taxi!
Ron: We might catch up.
TK/Rachel's cab turns around.
Ron: It's not over until it's over.

TK/Rachel, CLUE: Find the Salmon Hooker.
Phil: Statue, their next clue awaits.
Ron/Christina get their CLUE close behind.
Woman gives Ron/Chris directions, to 5th and G.
TK/Rachel also get directions.
Both teams run, on foot.
TK: Cross over 5th! Run down to G!
TK/Rachel find it first.
CLUE: Take a taxi to Girdwood Airport and Run to the Finish Line!!

Nic conf: Doing it with my grandfather was great.
Don conf: What made me the happiest was getting the whole way, every leg.
Rachel conf: TK is my rock, my favorite person. I got to do this with him.
TK conf: Not compromising our relationship in any way, making friendships. Nice guys finish first. We raced the Race, and we won.

Well an interesting final three thats for sure. Most deserving. Naw. Easily season 1. THe only time the 3 teams that were consistently (from the first leg to the last) the three teams that were the best.

I definitely agree, this has to be the best final 3 ever. I've NEVER liked all 3 teams and can stand any of them winning. Ironically, my favourite team has made it into the finale every single season except the 10th season (D/K were my favourites), and most of the time, my favourites have won. Tonight was no exception.
So happy TK/Rachel won. Sure they might have been "boring" to some, but personally I loved them because they reminded me of myself and someone else I know. Very deserving winners, and runner ups too. I really liked Christina and Don (not extremely fond of Nick or Ron but they grew on me the last few legs). It's cool though that two teams you probably would not have expected to be in the finale, were.
Anyone know what (or even if) shows they will be on this coming week?

how do you think the ratings will be for this episode? awseome season!!!!!!!!! is it me or was this so much more intense then the all stars one. i think it might have been because we didnt know who won.

congrats to tk & rachel. i was rooting for chris & ron but any of the three teams winning is fine with me since they all deserved to be in the final 3. looking forward to the next season of TAR. yepee...

The Roadblock killed poor Christina! Darn! I was rooting for them because they were Asian Americans and I have a soft spot for them! If only she'd realized sooner what the right order was!
However, I should congratulate T.K. & Rachel. They were calm throughout the race, and that's what helped them win.
If Ron & Christina had won the Race, Season 12 would've been my favorite season ever! However, it still made my Top 3, behind TAR 5 & TAR 7.

ron and christina were a really good team -- they kicked ass for most of this leg, and it all came down to luck -- but rachel was smart, she stayed calm, and she deserved it -- nick and christina panicked a little to much.

Really how did luck really factor into it. Obviously I haven't watched it yet.
Clearly Ron & CHristina did well today. But they appeared to lose time with Christina climbing (certainly not luck), and then at the final task (which I haven't seen), but from what I have heard, where was the luck factor in that?
I mean I wouldn't call Nic not getting the bag luck (even bad luck) just not following the clue.
Now any transportation that they don't have control over, I find is luck, or a needle in a hay stack type task can very much be luck.

I decided to see as best I can how the need to return to 6th Avenue Outfitters impacted Donald and Nicholas. In the show it appears that this was a significant impact that may have cost them the race. I found the address for 6th Avenue Outfitters(520 W. 6th Ave., Anchorage) and approximated address along the north and south sides of Ship Creek near its end. The results are that the maximum would have been approximately 1 mile and maybe 3 minutes. This was a fairly minor penalty. It appeared that they lost by a whole lot more than 3 mintues.

They need to improve the music in the next season -- they never play the "run to the finish line" music anymore :(

Great finale! Alaska looked awesome and damn the tasks were rough and they had a lot to do. I'm glad it wasn't just your standard task, Detour, Roadblock and then the finish line.
Having said all that I'm a little dissapointed in the winners. TK/Rachel were awesome all through the race and I liked how they always stayed positive and stayed relatively calm. They do deserve the win for all that but their win is just ho-hum to me.....just another young strong couple who wins again. Since season 1 I have always wanted a parent/child or grandparent hybrid team to win. I would be ecstatic right now had either Ron/Christina or Nick/Don won but now it's just a feeling of the "same old, same old". For once I wanted an absolutely different outcome than what we have ever seen but instead we got the same thing. Oh well.....
Congrats to all 3 teams though. These are my favorite final 3 in quite awhile. A big congrats to Don for being the oldest racer to reach the final 3! :yess: Overall I think this was a pretty darn good season.

I agree...I was hoping that Ron/Chris would win. I'm not disappointed that TK/Rachel won, but I just wished it was something different for once.
