Sigh... Thought my Chinese could help me with the Forbidden City Guard, but so far all I've got is this...

Some China buffs (http://www.chinahistoryforum.com/index.php?showtopic=5197&st=15)say that this uniform is Qing Manchu Bannermen Ceremonial Armor.
LMAO  !
listen I have the picture in my hand and the Barbarian looking dude is holding a red booklet or paper or something ..maybe hes part of a tour or just hands out flyers and is just helping out Sarah & Tom? or maybe i just need some sleep ???
Only thing is, Sarah hasn't yet opened what appears to be a clue envelope yet, so why is the Khan "look-a-like" pointing? Assuming they have just finished a task (or just arrived at a task), then shouldn't they read the clue before they ask for directions? ???
:poop: It looks like someone thought highly of the toilet and scratched in a fifth star. :js:hahaa, indeed.
I'm just stepping back and watching this unfold  you all are cracking me up  , thanks for the entertainment and hard work .I thought I were all alone in this.
ETA: do we dare start a leg 2 thread ? seems we have alot of info to work with such as Charlies Blog & the CBS press pictures ? its up to you guys & gals .

It's here (http://across-asia.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_across-asia_archive.html); the written entry is 29 May and the picture is just above it.thank you :D
Premise: Twelve two-member teams race around the world for a $1 million grand prize. The dozen pairs begin their global trek, which spans 13 countries, four continents and 40,000 miles, in Seattle.
BB7 ends Sept 12 so maybe that night we'll see some new stuff?
thanks kentuckygirl , I suppose I don't wake up untill noon so I miss the morning commercials
Cool, puddin. How hard could it be to find a section of the Great Wall....ummm....how long is this wall ??? ...ummm :groan:
Do we have any South Asian destination on our itinerary? Coz that's definitely what it looks like to me with the man and the ox. Seriously doubt that it was recycled from the Philippines. India in TAR4 maybe. To me it look like someone is sitting on someones shoulder and they are cheering  , honestly the quality was so bad ..I rewound a few times and still couldn't make it out Neobie .
Is that... an ostrich?
D Day minus six and counting :jumpy: :jumpy: :jumpy: :jumpy: :jumpy: :jumpy:
Don't mind me asking this, but what's the chance of the Great Wall climbing task becoming a Roadblock? My head's telling me it's pretty much slim to none, but I'd like a second or third opinion...2 Roadblocks in one ep ? Naw .. I'll guess the twist is alternating roadblocks , you know take turns .
I'm, hoping tonight during the BB Finale Gman :-* . I've tried all my resources and came up zero .
( I've learned how to type without looking at the keys so forgive all my bad spellings . something good did come out of BB afterall  )
I only went to the 10th grade :-[ , even then I got yelled at for looking at the keys . Yes my school had lettered keys so I blame the lousy school :snicker:.
im going vipul and artie or bilal and saaedMe too kogs .. damn Early Show ! I need some PHIL ! :knuckles: We get no Phil because the show airs on Sunday ! No fair (:;)
^^ either her hair is wet from a wet task or she didn't take a shower. Hmm.yeah that banzai
I hope Harold has a copy of the premiere screener. This is TAR7 Emmy screener:
But aren't Vipul and Arti at Gasworks Park in that photo?I wasn't sure untill banzai pointed out the wet hair
D DAY MINUS TWO AND COUNTING DOWN FASTER :jumpy: :jumpy:...and still no promos :( .. CBS hates us :meow:
Sorry for the post frenzy all of a sudden -- do you think the new twist is that both team members have to perform the roadblocks? This would explain why Dustin & Kandice are BOTH performing the one in the pic earlier and/or why both team members are climbing the wall... just a thought.
Nice work Boingo on the HH. Revisiting the place doesn't seem to me to be in the best of taste, but BVM has pulled some groaners before :groan:.
Go here Gman
there are photos that have the teams both lableled " roadblocks "
http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php/topic,8610.600.html
thats what I've been trying to say  ! The tvguide article
Right, but they indicate roadblocks in (1) China, (2) Mongolia, and (3) Viet Nam.
It is starting to look like that is the order for the first three legs, and New Zealand is being passed by!!
2 teams eliminated?? :o
Cleveland buddies add to diversity in Amazing Race'
The competition has a long way and many twists to go, so it's not giving anything away to reveal that, speeding to the airport, Abdul-Mani and Rudolph start out in first place. Anyone who has watched previous editions of "The Amazing Race" knows this means nothing.
"I'm very aggressive," says Abdul-Mani, who takes the wheel as they race to the airport. "He's a somewhat passive guy, which is good, because we've got to have that blend."
So half of the field will get to Beijing with about an hour advantage. It would spoil the fun to reveal much more, but merely to whet your appetite for what's ahead, let me serve up the idea of a food challenge in China.
"I'm from Cleveland, Ohio," Abdul-Mani says with a laugh. "What do I know about chopsticks?"
There are two major destination points in Sunday's premiere. The second is the Great Wall of China.
And here's the first surprise Keoghan said would be waiting for them: At each destination, the last-place team is eliminated. That's right. When "The Amazing Race" settles into its new regular time period, 8-9 p.m. Sundays, on Sept. 24, it will be missing two teams.
The writer even hints towards Bilal & Sa'eed being the first team eliminated :
How do the Cleveland guys fare? Well, it's an impeachable offense for a TV critic to even suggest which teams are sent packing. You'll just need to make the trip to Beijing and the Great Wall to discover the identity of the eliminated duos.
"I'm from Cleveland, Ohio," Abdul-Mani says with a laugh. "What do I know about chopsticks?"

According to this article:
http://www.allyourtv.com/0607season/amazingrace09172006.html
The coal miner's daughter said the title: "Drive faster...quack, quack!"
Teammates Lyn and Karlyn are fascinated by the thought of being in China, with one of them remarking that "people in China love us folks from Alabama because of that movie 'Forrest Gump.'"
The coal miner's wife throws out what could be a classic "A.R" moment when she attempts to get a Chinese cab driver to speed up by yelling "Drive faster...quack, quack
(http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b105/rawalsh/TAR10/9-15-20060058.jpg)
So Dustin/Kandice, Duke/Lauren and Erwin/Godwin get on the same flight, while Lynn/Karlyn and Peter/Sarah are on the first?
Didn't know they still allowed pistols into airports...
Vipul & Arti: These two are a really sweet couple (think Jon & Kris from season 6) and I like them pretty much immediately. They have nothing but nice things to say about each other, which I always like to hear. Unfortunately, they're another team with a run of bad luck.
Erwin & Godwin: These brothers are strong and smart, but that’s not all the race is about - there’s also an element of luck. Unfortunately, they don’t have a whole lot of it. But fortunately, they’re in pretty good spirits anyway.
heres another article RNO (http://www.realitynewsonline.com/cgi-bin/ae.pl?mode=1&article=article6451.art&page=1)
One rarity, however, is that teams must complete a very physical task in order to reach the Pit Stop. This means that teams who get to the location of the Pit Stop first won’t necessarily get to the mat first. Instead of a footrace to the mat, which is what we usually see, we see a different kind of struggle. It’s a good determination of who is physically fit and who will have more trouble with those kinds of activities.
.
The producers take full advantage of the Chinese landscape, ending the first leg of the race with a brutal rope climb up the side of the Great Wall of China. It's a segment that is both harrowing to watch and also fascinating to see strictly on its visual terms. It's an almost perfect "Amazing Race" challenge, and it sets a high bar for the rest of the season.
so what's the Detour?
It's a different view, and different season, but it sure looks similar to the building in Bei Hai Park, northwest of Forbidden City, Beijing.(http://forum.realityfanforum.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=10080.0;attach=18927;image)
Maybe they have to find the dancer with the clue ?It's a different view, and different season, but it sure looks similar to the building in Bei Hai Park, northwest of Forbidden City, Beijing.
:meow: fine so they are exercising
LOL...more likely it's a Tai Chi Chuan exercise session, but you may be right about finding the right person with the clue.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet (Sorry if it has). But according to aintitcool there is a big rig accident that makes the beginning leg a misery. And it seems it is in seattle.Link?
They also mention that Sarah and her robot leg (their word not mine) are feeatured promoniently in the episodes (I see a Charla edit, for over coming her disability).
Which is cool I loved Charla (Mirna was the anti-christ, hopefully Peter will be cool).
Seattle
A series of accidents on Interstate 5 near the Washington State Convention and Trade Center snarled traffic Saturday morning.
The first accident, at 3:15 a.m., occurred when two semitrucks southbound on I-5 collided while changing lanes. One truck spilled an estimated 100 gallons of diesel fuel on the roadway, triggering a second accident involving two cars.
The accidents and spill closed all southbound lanes until about 6 a.m., with traffic detoured onto the James Street exit, said Trooper Courtney Stewart of the Washington State Patrol. I-5 reopened after the state Department of Transportation sanded the highway.
Three hours later, two southbound lanes at the convention center were again closed when a tanker truck hit a wet patch of road, skidded across all lanes of traffic, slammed into a barrier and jackknifed.
The driver "didn't touch anyone, miraculously," Stewart said. The two left lanes were closed until about noon, causing a "horrid" backup that stretched to Northgate, she said.
Neither accident caused serious injuries. Rain-slick roadways contributed to both accidents, she said.

Eep! What a show this will be. I taped it last night (didn't realise Extreme Makeover: HE was on, though it was from last season, but I still never saw it)...and will go home tonight and watch it.
However, from what I did see, those cheerleader girls are really going to annoy me if they do little cheers the whole while they're still in it. I was also surpised to see the second team eliminated (sorry, don't know names yet)...even after Candice and her teammate struggled to find the Gold House restaurant. :P

The Korean boys also got lost and the other 3 teams complained of slow cab drives, thus keeping the girls safe in 8th place.
