Pretty sure I saw nice new ones!!
Will cap this later, prob tomorrow...
:wohoo:
-
Peach can we get a cap of the new cards in the closing credits?
There's been some sort of change, since I don't recall WRP having a card in there before, and if they did, its a new logo this season.
-
Card? ???
-
"Cards" are the industry terms for the different companies' logos in the closing credits. A single image is a "card." (i.e., in the past, the closing credits included the cards for Amazing Race Productions and Bruckhiemer Films, which are still there.)
-
Here's a card for the old-timers. :)
-
im really hoping this helps out -
im 100% sure a cap from the intro was gravensteen castle in ghent, belgium
hope thsi helps a bit :)
-
I have the Intro but this is gonna take awhile...

That is new! And WHAT is Profiles Television?? ???
:tu TL!!
-
This ???
Profiles Television Productions LLC

Company Contacts
Ash Minnick, Production Coordinator

Profiles was the company BVM created to do Profiles from the Front Line (http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2003-02-27/features/0302270093_1_amazing-race-munster-cameras). He later used it to produce Oprah's show. Folding WRP into Profiles is a new wrinkle, though.
-
Apparently I typed a post that didn't make it in.
Yes, TL that's the one I was speaking of. Thanks.
-
36. Colourful houses
That's Nyhavn Copenhagen, Denmark. It means New Haven and it's the most touristic place in Copenhagen.
-
4. Bridge (where?)
That looks like the Seven Mile Bridge to me; it looks like a Florida sky, and the bridge does have causeway-type spans.....and the closest land is in the far distance in that cap.
8. Wind farm
There's something about that cap that makes me think it's a special effect of some sort. It is weird to see the individual windmills hanging in the middle of nothing like that with no sky, ground, water, nothing.
-
8. The wind farm IS Middelgrunden, 3.5km outside Copenhagen, Denmark
4. The bridge - it's not a bridge from Miami, it's a recycled cap from TAR18 of the Rio-Niteroi Bridge in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
-
This is between the boat in the river and the Copenhagen shot
-
23 and 34 are also recycled from last season.
-
This looks suspiciously like Southern Thailand doesn't it?
-
It could also be southern China on the Li River near Guilin. Guilin showed up in AR14, episode 9.
-
I have the impression that TPTB are aiming towards having all clips in the opening credits be in HD format. That's why I think we have to basically limit identifications to last season or this season, unless we are certain of the location in the clip is from an earlier season.
-

These buildings are in Panama. They are the same as #21 in Neobie's list.
-
The twin buildings in Panama are the San Francisco Bay - Torre 100 (http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=43378) with 35 floors each.
Observing that it is a twin set of buildings very close together, and since it is not the tallest building in the city, and not the most well received construction, I suspect that that it has been selected to be a high wire task :ascared for the Teams to cross from one building over to the other.

Who wants to go to Ghent  :hoot:
Maybe?
-
Ghent is a very historic and interesting place to visit. I would love to go back there.
-
I would love to travel with you!
-
I've been staring at this shot for a while and finally I see it: Not a tight rope between them
Rappel ropes are in place hanging from each building!
Could it be another window washing Roadblock like TAR6 in Shanghai?
-
Nice one! This one was already in the spoilers, but just officially writing this down...
Frederiksborg Castle, Hillerod

Ghent is a very historic and interesting place to visit. I would love to go back there.
Any idea of good locations they might have visited? Any locations in particular that struck you as an "amazing race must visit" location?
It's been a few years since I visited Ghent, but here are its main attractions:
1. the rivers Scheldt and Lys, with canalboats running circuits up and down them
2. the view of the medieval architecture from on the river or the opposite bank; these are the Grasslei and Korenlei buildings
3. the universities (it has the largest concentration of university students in Belgium)
4. the Korenmarkt market area
5. eating the special Flemish dish Waterzooi made of freshwater fish or chicken, with carrots, leeks and potatoes, herbs, eggs, cream and butter
6. Gravensteen Castle
7. St. Bavo's Cathedral
-
This cap (probably Shiva) is near the end of the sequence. I don't remember it, but maybe it's a retread from Varanasi.

-
Oh KIKI!! :tu SO much! Work was kicking my butt but just got home and decided that this was #1 priority...and you saved me ages!

Thanks again kiki! You did a beautiful job!
I edited in a few extra angles of some of the shots, and the 2 or 3 left from the end. Great job!
I thought maybe the house BEHIND the statue in # 20 would help us....
-
And here are the links to what we had ID'd in TAR 18 already...
STARTING here:

-
Number 8 of kiki's post looks like Middelgrunden wind farm near Copenhagen harbour in Denmark.
-
#6 it's a relief from Borobudur, I think.
Could these be tibetan prayer flags? Although the colours are not exactly right.
Here is a picture for comparison.
-
I was thinking those may be the flags from the Sydney task?
-
I was thinking those may be the flags from the Sydney task?
No, those were all nautical flags, with distinct patterns on each one. These look fairly plain..

I think we have a winner! When comparing the cap to the picture of these Tibetan Buddhist prayer flags, it is now clear that the horizontal lines and symbols you can see are the same ones as in this picture.
Good job kiki! But what does this mean? Could this imply that production took these HD shots in their pre-race location shooting in Nepal, and that Nepal was the leg that was moved?
Unless this is just one of the caps that's been reused from past seasons..
-
I think that is the only thing they can be. The Tibetan prayer flags are always blue, green, white, yellow, and orange. I don't see many countries those would be besides Nepal and with the already ongoing spec about Nepal it seems logical to assume that is where the shot was taken.
-
Wet blanket: the flags were in the TAR 18 intro.
-
Ugh so they were.
Thanks for spoiling everyone's fun Neobie! :D
-
Wet blanket: the flags were in the TAR 18 intro.
That's why I love this board.
-
(http://i1182.photobucket.com/albums/x449/kikisak/TAR/painting.png)
here is the painting of the Hindu God in Varanasi.
The prayer flags might also be from there since there were every kind of flags and banners all over the city, which is considered a holy place for Buddhism too.
-
Ah, recycled then. Thanks.
-
The prayer flags might also be from there since there were every kind of flags and banners all over the city, which is considered a holy place for Buddhism too.
That sounds very plausible. In fact I just did a quick google on 'Varanasi prayer flags', and the top result was this http://blog.travelpod.com/travel-photo/wareameye/30/1295348094/25_varanasi.jpg/tpod.html (http://blog.travelpod.com/travel-photo/wareameye/30/1295348094/25_varanasi.jpg/tpod.html)
They look just like the ones in the intro, so I would say that this settles the issue.
-
I have been looking for this for years and I finally got it. Credit goes to Rick Steve's
It's not in Season 19's intro. It was last seen in the 18 intro: Beachy Head Lighthouse (Image Reference (http://www.arthritiscaregateshead.org.uk/Beachy_Head_2.html))

Nice spot! And with likely 4 teams remaining at this point, I hope we see all four racing across them at the same time!

Just to add our latest one in here, number 26 is Koh Nom Sao, Phang Nga Bay.
