Unconfirmed (Now CONFIRMED) Rumor of Cody and Jessica from BB19 being on TAR 30.
Based on the following tweet from a well known reporter during the BB Finale events, which was rapidly removed.

I actually don't buy it.
Maybe they were considered, but now that it's been made public, I'd be very surprised to actually see them racing.
-
TAR retweeted about this.

Edit: Just saw this on the other thread too. Oops.
-
It's real! They are on!
-
Ok, I got proved wrong in such a short time span... :escape
Anyway, I'm pretty happy to see them on.
-
I've never watched BB, but the folks at work who do say they are far less annoying than Brendan and Rachel.
I hope that is the only known team and it's a completely normal season other than them, such as seasons 16 and 20.
-
Jessica and Cody will be fun to watch. Jessica is gorgeous and full of pep, while Cody is a real stone-faced, never-cared, i-dont-wanna-be-here guy, but he's a fierce competitor. It should also be interesting to see if their relationship, which started in the BB house, can withstands the rigors of the race.
-
The BB fans are split on this. Because of their edit, TV Onlies love them. Live-Feeders saw a different side and they aren't happy. Any way this plays out, it will be interesting.

As a live feeder myself in a past life :D, I definitely trust the live feeders more than the TV only-fans. lol
I'm just meh on them though since I really didn't follow BB19 other whatever Julie and Rachel were tweeting lol
But with CBS hyping them up this much, it would be hilarious if they are an early elimination or are a boring, irrelevant team. lol
-
As a live feeder, I can tell you they don't get along with anyone. They pretty much hate all people in general. Another site that keeps tallies of everything that goes on in the BB house all summer tallied that there were 30 fights in the BB house, and Jessica and Cody were involved in 26 (obviously most of them never made it on the show). There were only 4 fights in the house after they were evicted. This is not a couple that can work with other people. Fortunately, I don't see them going far because they will literally be running this race by themselves (or they will be the first victim of the U-turn)
-
This is just pathetic that CBS and TAR producers still believe that crossovers increase ratings when that has only occurred once (TAR 7).

Which will quite possibly then translate into them being rude to locals everytime they don't get their way :(
-
They will be the epitome of "ugly Americans"

Like you said in the other thread, this is more about brand-building by CBS than hopes of increasing the ratings in any meaningful way. From the various interviews over the years, Moonves and TPTB at CBS are apparently very involved in almost all aspects of the show (locations, but casting especially). Almost to the point that Bertram and Elise have to reluctantly agree. At least, that's the impression I got from many interviews where they mention Moonves.
-
I've never watched Big Brother and followed it on the site, so seeing them in TAR will be great!
I can then have an OPINON of them.
-
To be fair to CBS trying to boost ratings, this may be a wise decision - BB19 had an ENORMOUS audience (it dominated the entire summer TV ratings wise unless Game of Thrones was on) and doing a crossover as soon as possible while the season is still fresh in most viewers' minds may benefit us in the long run. They could even air this season with Celebrity Big Brother or air the premiere on that season's finale.
The potential is there.

I refuse to pay for the feeds, but I read the updates daily. I'm not sure that using the number of fights in the house is a fair assessment of them. Yes Cody was a jerk during his HoH that first week. Telling Megan that he nominated her for eviction because he didn't like her was uncalled for. However, the majority of the fights didn't appear to be caused by Cody or Jess but were instead instigated by Paul and company. I'm also not sure you can judge how they'll treat people on the race by the way they acted in the house. Sure they should have been nicer and not have secluded themselves, but considering the negativity and hostility directed at them I can't really blame them. I guess it depends on which camp you're in as to how you make the comparison. If you thought that the negativity and hostility was the result of how they were acting; then, they're going to be awful racers. If you thought that their actions were in response to the negativity and hostility; then, they're going to be competitive fun to watch racers. If you're in the middle like me and don't know or care which came first, the chicken or the egg; then, it's a toss up.

*insert eyeroll emoticon* @ stale NYC
Should've just started in Philadelphia and given teams the choice of self-driving to either Newark or JFK.

I am in the same boat as you - I don't watch US feeds, but follow the Updaters. I think your assessment is spot on. I would just like to add for those that aren't aware, there were periods when Jessica and Cody were separated and had to play individually. (Cody was evicted, won a buy-back, Jessica evicted, then Cody evicted 2nd time) Many fans believed they were better players and more sociable/likeable when apart. I think it's fair to say most of their hostility towards others resulted from trying to defend each other (to the point of their own detriment), so it will be interesting to see how that translates to TAR.
-
I honestly think they will be a great team with no controversy or rude behaviour whatsoever.
Cody might be emotionless again, but I definitely see Jess really appreciating the world around her.

Same here, I have not seen Big Brother US Version but to me, my first impressions are: Jessica looks enthusiastic and fun while Cody looks stiff. But since they're madly in love I do hope they are not a "standard dating couple". IMO most Dating teams I've seen on TAR were bland and uninteresting, few were memorable.

ICELAND THEY TOOK THAT LONG TO GO BACK TO ICELAND
-
Been lurking since earlier.
Iceland!!! :conf: :trampb: :hearts: :cheer: :wohoo:
What I also like from this cast is that it's very diverse! Those occupations are very interesting! :grins:
-
I wonder if production is trying to bring in new viewers by casting a bunch of celebs.
Well, maybe calling them celebs is not the right word, but some are definitely known to the public.
I have to agree with Platrium, that I really enjoy the variety of occupations, though.
-
i don't really like the diversity of the cast (age, ethnic, many 'celebs'), but so excited with the first destination. ICELAND :conf:
-
This is a welcome change :) You know they actually haven't done a European first country since Season 17?
England, the oh-so-memorable watermelon backfire.

I wouldn't really say that's very different than other seasons though
Every season from maybe 15 on has at least 2-3 teams of z-list celebrities.

you're right, i didn't realize that. it's been so long

Just to clarify ...
Jody were popular with both live feeders and casuals. After a bad start, they became the bullied underdog players that were 1 and 2 at the top of BB rankings for the last half of the year (and this was when they were both out of the house). And Cody easily won America's Favourite Player vote this season.
Jody will be the most popular team this year and should do quite well in the race ...

I honestly don't see them doing that well. My prediction for them is 9th.
-
Agreed. I see them as ill-prepared as well. Look at it this way:
Cody was on the jury, so he had to stick around for the rest of the season. Jessica was not, so she was sent home. If they'd just gotten the call to go on the race when it ended on the 20th, that's...a week and a half that they were able to prepare and train together.
And I don't want to see them do like what happened to Cody on BB, with a twist like TAR China from last year that allowed an eliminated team to be revived a week later. Once they're out, they're out.
-
I am waiting for these two to have a massive argument with another team in the race!

Cody was told before BB19 ended, and Jessica knew well before the finale.
They're both really fit physically, so I think they'll be a strong team.

This cast is kinda giving me a Ridonculous Race feeling.

Someone on the Big Brother Reddit that went to the Starting Line said that they were told that the season is likely premiering in February. Wonder where we would air, and if we would air with Celebrity Big Brother before all the CBS shows return.

Wonder if this is because of the Winter Olympics airing on NBC in February and CBS is trying to pull in the fans from these shows to counteract the Olympics. Not that I watch the Olympics...

That would be a poor decision on CBS' behalf. Almost every show will be on reruns in February.

Could be but I happen to know a lot of people that would rather watch a new season of something like TAR than reruns or Olympics. During the last Olympics, there were no discussions about them at all where I worked. Absolutely no one watched them and that includes me.
Will definitely be interesting to see where it lands on the TV schedule.
-
Hoping this season delivers! Getting a season 20 and 23 vibe from the cast! Also hope the FF teams last. I don't see Dessie and Kayla lasting but the other 2 ff teams have potential.
I'm going to put my prediction down here and revisit it after the season to see how bad I did. :funny: :funny:
My winner pick right now is Alex and Conor.
Top 5 Teams (1-5):Alex/Conor, Henry/Evan, Trevor/Chris, April/Sarah, Lifeguards
Bottom 6 Teams (6-11): Kristi/Jen, Twins, Dessie/Kayla, Jessica/Cody, Joey/Tim, Shawn/Cedric
-
This was a huge surprise for me. In my cast wishlist, some of the teams that I'd like to see on The Amazing Race are:
1. Pro Racecar Drivers - It has been a dream of mine to be one
2. Athletic F/F Team, preferably representing the US in a sport.
3. Moms both aged 40 and above with something unique about them.
4. Lifeguards
This season gave me all this. I cannot believe it. :conf:
Also, the return of Iceland. :conf:
If they're visiting underused European countries such as Finland and visit new European countries such as Latvia. I'd be really happy.
The only negative for me is the overload of M/M teams. 5 again like S.4 & S.23. They could have balanced it with 4 M/M and 4 F/F then 3 M/F. I like the lesser M/F since we've had an overload of them last season with 9 teams. Hoping that the Racecar Drivers, the F/F teams and the Debaters last long.
-
Will be really sad if
Show content
the ring girls
are first team out :gaah:

That's what it sounds like from an eyewitness. Or that they were last, anyway.
-
OH. MY. GOD.
I'm hoping 30 DELIVERS, because this cast is just AWESOME. Indycar? Professional eaters (they seriously got Chestnut to do this)? Loving it like crazy. (Yeah, I know - Jessica/Cody, but... EVERYONE ELSE.)
-
re: Jody - given the options of showmances from this season of BB, we're lucky we got them instead of like, Matt & Raven.
Also an Iceland first leg means I'm liable to forgive a lot about this season. :bunny
-
re: Jody - given the options of showmances from this season of BB, we're lucky we got them instead of like, Matt & Raven.
Didn't mean it like that. It's just me (probably), but I'm more excited for everyone else on this cast.
Another CBS reality show crossover is just meh after so many times. I'm surprised that someone hasn't been on all three shows yet. I shouldn't give TPTB any ideas, because I'm sure that's going to happen.
Back on topic, though...
-
So no early cast announcement this time like all the previous open starts?
Great first impression, CBS, tease the actual loyal TAR viewers on social media with one team, the one that's probably going to be the most despised of all (lots of ugly comments, threats to skip this season based on that one team), and then don't give them anyone else. Better hope they go all the way to keep the Jody fans tuning in for the ratings' sake =/

If that is the case. :groan: :gaah: It was found out that one of the Lifeguard's name is Brittany. All Brittany's that have raced on TAR ended in 9th place, lets see if she breaks the "curse"

I am also a long time BB live feeder (and new here). If you met me IRL you would never believe I was the type, but I love this show. I love seeing the opinion of "the casuals" (TV only folks) vs the crazy livefeeder. We see a very different show many times. IMO, when BB started this past season, Jess & Cody were two of my least favorites. I would say that was pretty much the general consensus. But as the days/weeks wore on my opinion changed. Virtually none of the HG were playing to win the money. Only Paul the former & present 2nd place finisher & Jess & Cody. Cody has views that I don't agree with, Jess is an interesting person with a very interesting backround.
As weeks woree on we got to see how awful the others HG were at BB. Why sign up to win 500K and a potential 3+ months away from your family to help someone else win. Other than Jess & Cody nearly all HG were in it to win it for Paul. Made no sense. Then there were the taunts to try & trigger Cody's PTSD, just so ugly. So even if I hate Cody's views on many things, I found myself rooting for "Jody." They come to play the game. Jess is definately more "mouthy," but they both come to play & that will be fun to see imo. Nice to meet you all. We are in NYC & my daughter & her friends went to the kick-off and had a blast. I've only watched TAR sporatically over the years, but I am looking forward to next year, when this airs.

There were plenty of links saying "X and Y are going to be on TAR", but I don't know if they were before the start or not. I wasn't following along when the start happened.

Holland :bunny
-
Of the 7 visits to The Netherlands 5 of which were all to the capital city, Amsterdam. Technically it was 6 visits, the one in S.19 was unaired. I don't mind visiting the The Netherlands as it is a beautiful country but Amsterdam again? I hope it is just a connection...
-
On one hand: Amsterdam, Netherlands again?
On the other hand: The Netherlands with at least 10 teams? Cool!
-
the last time we had amsterdam leg 2 was tar12 and that leg was ICONIC so i have hopes <3

Welcome NYCMOM! :conf:
I felt the same way first about Jess and Cody. My boyfriend didn’t watch the feeds and is just a casual viewer. He LOVED Jess and Cody. I remember giving him attitude and saying what I didn’t like about them and how the live feeds showed the real personalities. Then the house started bullying them even though they were the underdogs and already the next targets. I remember Cody going home and wishing for him to come back to take care of Paul. I love Jess and Cody from like week 2-3 on
-

Agreed. That was the leg of the ditch pole vaulting, lifting the furniture through the window (one of the moments I remember Kent & Vyxsin most for) and Ron being the controlling dad.
Wasn't high on the last one in 26, it was pretty much a Roadblock/Detour/Pit Stop leg, the kind I dislike the most. Hayley going ballistic with her lopsided helmet is the only thing that saved that episode for me.
Still kinda hoping this is just a transfer, though. Too many recent visits.
-
Holland :bunny
Or an AMS transfer onwards. ;)

:welcome2: to RFF NYCMOM! I did not watch this season so really appreciate your insights. Live feeds are way different from the show...
Could you do us a little summary? Probs with others, controversy, best strengths? I was unaware of his PTSD...very sorry to hear that and hope the race does not aggravate it. Anything more would help those of us who did not watch understand them better!
-
You can't say that They're going to Amsterdam. Amsterdam is the only major airport for the entirity of the Netherlands so it could be anywhere but I'm praying it's a connection as the Netherlands is too overused. A nice train ride to Bruges would be apreciated.

This is plausible, this opens up Belgium as a potential visit. I'd love Bruges or Antwerp.
-
Bruges is the most beautiful place I've ever visited, so having it on the race would be a dream. <3
It looks a lot like Venice though, so idk if they would do that after last season went there.
-
BELGIUUUMMMMMMMM!!!!!
-
Sweet! Another one-time country! (TAR 19, the "muscles in Brussels")
This route is already delivering in a big way.
-
Loved Antwerp Centraal Station, I took some pics of it from my recent trip to Europe, I'll try and post them
But the station alone was incredibly beautiful, and HUGE!
-
Since this route is basically cherrypicking off of all of our hopes and dreams, dare I hope for West Africa in leg 3? :conf:
-

Brussels airline have many Western African destinations;
Accra
Abidjan
Banjul
Conakry
Cotonou
Dakar
Douala
Freetown
Kinshasa
Lome
Luanda
Oauagadougou
Yaounde
This means that we have a high chance of West Africa and I would hope for Dakar, Banjul, Accra & Abidjan.
-
Always good to see underused countries on TAR!
BELGIUM YESSSSS!!!
Is this route all about visiting the underused countries or something? First Iceland, then Belgium!
-
I will lol if this route suddenly turns into Indiax2, Indonesiax2, and Chinax2 at the end of race <3
But love Iceland and Belgium. :conf:

Hopefully this NEVER happens. Not overused Asian countries :groan:

I'd predict South Africa. They could also throw in Mauritius there into the mix. If that's so :bunny Visits to Iceland and Belgium alone are :conf: time for underused countries to shine!
-
Spain is also an underused country unlike the overused Spanish-speaking South American country of Argentina.

I'd love Spain! It is also undervisited.
-
Usually rail travel is involved between Europe legs,
For convenient train travel, cities with direct train from Belgium should have high chances
Germany (Frankfurt / Cologne / Small towns like Bonn / Mainz / Heidhberg) (with self-driving)
Austria (Salzburg / Innsbruck)
-
This route looks very legit... Hope they keep consistent
And yes finally belgium being visited :bunny
I just hope that the execution is much better. Recently we had unique yet underused country only to see disappointment since the tasks and the execution was bad
-
So excited to see Iceland in gorgeous HD and a return trip to Belgium should be fantastic!
-
I will lol if this route suddenly turns into Indiax2, Indonesiax2, and Chinax2 at the end of race <3
LOL..
I doubt they will visit Indonesia this time because there's an active volcano, mount Agung curently at level 4 alert (the highest) and could erupt anytime. More than 140.000 residents have been evacuated. If it erupted, it could affect the flight to Indonesia, Australia, and Oceania. Some countries have issued travel warning to their citizens including US and Australia.

Maybe Malaysia could be visited. That could make 3 Asian countries for the route to visit such as India, Taiwan and Malaysia x2 in later legs.

But love Iceland and Belgium. :conf:

Pls no, that is my biggest fear at this point.
... or that they do a > Germany > Switzerland route after Belgium.
Not the Switzerland-Germany combo and France :groan: Good countries, but way too overused.
This. Hope there's no Germanic countries visit (but I can let it pass if they able to visit the new/underused locale like Cologne, Dusseldorf, or even a full leg featured in urban area of Frankfurt/Bern/Zurich) and this season need to be consistence with visit more underused/unvisited countries and locale after we finally get another Iceland and Belgium visit for such a long time.
-
I'm kinda pissed because from October 18 onward, I'm travelling to Amsterdam & Belgium. :groan: :funny: It will be my first time visiting those places as well, so seeing TAR there would be quite a surprise.
Otherwise, the route is looking good so far!

Super!! You can visit the locations and report back! People will remember this and want to talk about it all.
-
I just got back from work for the week and oh my goodness! Goodies everywhere! I am ecstatic to be witnessing the THIRTIETH SEASON of TAR in the making! Now that my shock has subsided a little, time for a little personal analysis.
The good I'm seeing: Iceland, perfection! Hopefully we'll see Random Bag Lady again. So glad Belgium is visited again despite all the recent tragic attacks throughout Europe. Goes to prove that no illogical, deranged person can totally stop the power of travel. :hoot:
Goat yoga moms, Shawn Marion! (Go Cavs!), Brook & Claire 2.0 in skiers bodies, Joey Chestnut the Coney Island King, and studly violinists (hopefully won't end up like Elliot & Andrew).
The bad: Another dating Big Brother team as if 3, especially Brendon & Rachel, weren't enough already, another firefighter team with the typical twins mold, conspicuously phony task setups (Icelandic powerlifting team in the middle of a plaza, Antwerp sunflower costumes in the middle of a plaza).
-
Welcome back, Rachel :)
Yeah, these first two countries have got me very excited to see what the next one is!

If they transfer from Barcelona; Zagreb, Croatia is a good possibility. We haven't had that country visited since season 12. Plus, Bulgaria could get its first airing as teams may take Bulgaria Air there. We could also end up with a newly styled route with everyone flying to South America.
-
I am so excited about this season. TAR is one of my favorite shows on television and this group looks promising. I think I will end up rooting for the violinists! Can’t wait to see how the race unfolds.

I love the route so far. :bunny I'm going to visit Belgium in one month so I'm really excited they got there :conf: Hope they come to Estonia. I'd love to see them :hoot: :D Either that or West Africa would be really awesome. I like the cast too in a way. I think it's better than last four seasons cast at least by looking at it :hoot: My biggest hope is that tasks and editing is gonna be better :sab

Yup I agree! Saw videos on a majority of the cast. They are all interesting! Famous/Semi-Famous people but looks stellar to me.

Morocco for a fourth time. Its an underused country.

Morocco for a fourth time. Its an underused country.
New city pretty much :) It's on the northeastern tip.
Season 10 flew into Tangier, but only to get on a bus to Fez.
-
Was not expecting Tangier at all. Next leg they may go to Andalucia or Madrid.
-

Excepting for Serbia or Bulgaria in the next leg.
-
Morocco, oh wow! This route is getting better & better. Was not expecting Morocco at all, although we've fairly been there in S.25. Tangier is a new city. :bunny. Of my top 5 pre-race favorites, only Team Jody is sighted. Goat Yoga Moms, Pro Skiers, Indy 500 Racers & Dating Lifeguards pls survive. :spy:

I'm leaning towards 2 legs in Morocco, and a visit to Chefchaouen for leg 4

1. Iceland (visited once)
2. Belgium (visited once)
3. Morocco (visited three times)

Also all places are new. Reykjavik hasn't really been visited and this visit focused on it. Antwerp and Tangier also have never been seen before except for a transfer in S3.

Plus points if teams flew to spain and hopefully tried to do dieselgate 2.0 <3

The dieselgate, ah the memories. :funny:

Hopefully for the remaining F/F teams, not sighted means not seen only and not eliminated. I normally would root for the F/F teams since it's very rare for them to make the Final 5 in modern seasons and since S.28, all F/F teams did poorly or below average in tasks. Can TAR cast stronger F/F something more of the caliber of Dustin & Kandice, Jaime & Cara, Kisha & Jen Brooke & Claire, Nat & Kat, Natalie & Nadiya and Kym & Alli.
-
THey have some exceeding strong FF teams this season. Ninja Warriors? Whee!
-
I tend to root for FF teams the most as well, and I'm already devastated that the ring girls are out first. :/ I'm surprised because they looked like a really strong team.
Skiers are somebody I could see making top 5 at least.
Moms will be underdogs, yeah.
But I hope and pray that they are not the first 3 teams out. That would suck. :groan:
-

I immediately wrote off the Yoga moms as first out until I learned that :)

It would definitely suck having the 3 F/F's leave consecutively. I've seen some videos of the Ring Girls and they're loads of fun. They both affectionately call themselves as "sisters" in some of their posts together and I'm getting Tiffany & Krista vibes from both of them which I like. I'm fully aware of their Ninja Warrior background of the Goat Yoga Moms as I watch American Ninja Warrior as well. I'm just hoping that the Goat Yoga Moms & Pro Skiers turn up soon like how Burnie & Ashley did in the sightings in Season 28 where they just popped out of nowhere in Georgia. On another note, the Indy 500 as well.

Season 10 1
Season 25 2

Hi guys
Decided to join the fun. After attending the live start and seeing where they have gone so far, I'm excited from what I've seen. Hopefully the route continues to be impressive.
-
:welcome: to RFF Xoruz!
Wasn't that the MOST fun?
I was only sad to not hear Phil say: XX countries, XX miles....

Thank you georgiapeach. Personally, I was hoping that we would announce the first location like TAR 27. Still, it was an unforgettable experience.
-
I think 27 only said something about White Sand Beaches at the start? I think they got more info after...Gosh I can't remember lol and I was there. :funny:

All we got was Elise left a tweet on the 1st
Elise Doganieri @EliseDoganieri Oct 1
#amazingrace 30 has begun! First stop #Iceland! Thank you to #amazingracefans who cheered on the teams! #cbs @PhilKeoghan @BvMProfilesTV

France okay
-
Really surprised France has been visited 4 times in the last 5 seasons lol.
-
Thus ends the streak of undervisited countries. At least it's a new region, as far as I remember.
-
It looks like the FF teams got roadkilled. It's not looking too good at this point.
-

Yup... this is so sad :(
-
All 3 FF teams are first 3 teams out? Are you serious? I will not watch this season then.
Can they cast for once competent FF teams? We had 10 FF teams in last 4 seasons and only one who were able to place better than 8th place were Tiffany & Krista.
Thanks God for fereigner versions of TAR, they are doing much better job with casting FF teams.
-
Again..not seen does not confirm not there.
But, not looking good for the ladies. :(

THIS! The trend for F/F teams on TAR are a flop since S.28 technically S.27 with the exception of Tiffany & Krista who started at the back of the pack but slowly moved up the ranks and were finishing in mid or front pack of the Race. They may not be the strongest but they had the drive and motivation unlike others. Others were just "not" of standard to be on the Race. I'm looking at you Kelly & Shevonne (who finishes a 6x6 slider puzzle in nearly 4 hours), Jazmine & Danielle (They are physically fit, but the way I see it, it's the little mistakes that let you down and it's what's gonna send you home.), Marty & Hagan (leaving their taxi too far), Brittany & Jessica (bitter about not being helped, hello this is a RACE! You could have smoked those who are having their alliance. This is not Amazing Friend), Erin & Joslyn (Obviously not strong) and most recently Jessie & Francesca (Seriously, you are asking help from a team whom you are battling for last place, why on earth did she even believe Sara). :groan: At least I have 3 other teams to root for that are still in it (Indy 500 Racers, Dating Lifeguards, Team Jody). Half of my Top 6 are gone :groan:
-
France.... There goes the dream of visiting new & undervisited countries for a full route. But hopefully not X2 France. :groan: Although St. Tropez is nice, Ok
-

To be fair, the F/F team slaughter, though not pretty, does not necessarily mean a bad season :P Look at TAR29!
That said, it's embarrassing how much the all-female teams have faltered since TAR25 ended lol. Production needs to cast stronger ones.
-
can't wait for Switzerland and Germany next <3

:funny: :funny: :haha Not the overused combo!

The thing is, look at the occupations of the teams you named: TV hosts, models, cheerleaders, etc. Occupations that revolve around looking good, which doesn't exactly translate into racing ability. You get their opening intro where they pretty much say they're there to be eye candy ("we're going to use our looks to get ahead"). 21 to 25 we had that team archetype of "matching blonde women".
We appear to have had more of the right type this season, women with athletic backgrounds, and they're still looking like the first boots at this point. So I don't know what to say :(
A thing I can't understand with the US version, too, is why they seem hesitant to cast lesbian couples. Even in 26, the love season, they didn't take that perfect opportunity and cast 2 male gay teams.
-

Think its more of they cast too many M/M teams this season atleast even it out , i mean the violenist and the indy and the basketball teams are gonna be hard to get out. I pray Jody can take them out one by one. :conf:
-
I don't think you can blame casting for women not doing well this season.

You are on point here. We did have women with athletic backgrounds and still they flopped. That remains a mystery ??? There were women who were pretty but did strong in the past. Beauty Queens Dustin & Kandice and Home Shopping Hosts Brooke & Claire, Former NFL Cheerleaders Jaime & Cara. I'd add Doctors Nat & Kat as well. The only thing that I'm banking on is at least one of them gets through or has not been seen yet but it looks dim already.

Oh yuck France again!
WE SAW IT IN SEASON 28 WAS WHY AGAIN! :groan:
Oh well, at least it hasn't gone to the same city...
-
As long as there's no high-altitude leg (which are awful most of the time), I'm okay with the France visit since at least its a new area
-
I'm probably in the minority for this, but I'm finding this route rather uninspiring. Considering production's been sitting on this for a year, I would have thought they'd come up with a bolder route for 30. I feel these are all places I'd consider on a casual trip around Europe, not a challenging sprint around the globe.

Seconded.
Back to the same overvisited North African country just five seasons later, when Tunisia exists?
Back to the same region of France four seasons ago, when Bordeaux and Lyon remain unvisited?
It's this very cheapskate mentality that caused the show to lose three Emmys in a row.
-
tunisia is unsafe in ways morocco isn't
agreed that there's too much of western europe though
-
Just wanted to remark on the conflict in the Speculation threads this time, seems almost daily. I look forward to coming here each morning to see the latest, and today had to wade through 2 full pages of argument to find the useful stuff :(
I've been here now since TAR24 filmed and can't remember any of the seasons since having this much fighting.
-
Already addressed. Thank you for the concern. It is NOT going to be happening anymore.

I'm so sad havent seen a jody sighting since morroco. I pray they are still in the race. :conf: I'm hoping that the sightings we saw in france were taken after jody and the others already arrived earlier in the day.

Hang in there. It's been said here before...teams have been known to go off radar, only to show up again several legs later. There are too many variables to consider!

agreed, phil said many twists this year. Imagine if they come up with a new power , where whoever comes in first in a leg earns the power to instantly boot someone from the game?
-
More than happy with at least 1 F/F team left standing. Pro Skiers sighted in St. Tropez. I thought they're all eliminated. Here's to hoping that the Pro Skiers make the Top 5. :hoot:

In other words, Australia's Salvage Pass. Would love to see the US try that.

The pro eaters are still in it :hearts:
Well at least to France :whew

Is it normal that there is no news for 2 days? Does that usually mean longer travel days?
-
Longer Travel Days, A longer Pause, or just that we haven't found a sighting!
Just means we all need to search twice as hard!!
-
This tends to happen, too, when they go to somewhere very rural, like maybe back to Africa. I did some checking myself this morning, nada.
The hardcore Jody fans must be twiddling their thumbs eager for news right now

Actually a lot of them are searching social media tags trying to find them... maybe appreciate the work many are doing that’s resulted in finding the racers in both France and Tangier... instead of being condescending. 🤷🏻♂️

I don't think he meant it in a disrespectful way.
He was basically just saying that the Jody fans must be very nervous seeing as we havn't spotted them since Morroco.
However, as we saw with the Skiers, anything is possible. If a team isnt seen, it doesnt mean they are eliminated.
Once we have seen everyone else though and we just had an nonelimination leg, at that point i would start panicking. Go Jody! <3

How is this person still allowed to post on here?
You all need to stop ganging up on people.

PERSONAL COMMENTS ABOUT EACH OTHER ARE NOT ALLOWED AT RFF.
ANY REPLY SHOULD BE O N L Y ABOUT THE TAR TOPIC AT HAND.
If you are posting the word YOU in a post, better rethink it.
And help from The JODY fans is appreciated. This is not US vs THEM ...it is TAR fans working towards the same goal.
Now seriously...back to TAR please?

Not too happy that the first country with two legs is France. However, Arles looks beautiful and I hope that they do some Van Gogh related task.
-
Double leg France. It is beyond overused. There are loads of other wonderful European countries that needs to be revisited or new visits :groan:
-
I hope they did something around L’Arlesienne by Bizet
-

Ditto.
-
They could have done legs in Spain, Andorra, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Romania. 1 France leg, fine but 2 legs?!?! France now gets 15 Pit Stops. It's like Indonesia in S.19-23 minus S.20
(France: S.26-30 minus S.29)
-

It's not a problem for me. The locations haven't been visited anyway. :)

I don't see how Southern France is overused but ok

BOTH of these are totally NEW locations. It is not an overused site. After 30 seasons, we need to expand our minds. The world is getting smaller.

Anyone else feeling like this: :hhello: :tantrum :pull :dick while looking for teams right now?
I know I am :funny:

Keep looking!! They're out there somewhere, and likely somewhere challenging for Internet. Good for the Show, bad for us!

Route started getting a bit stale.
-
Well, I would love for an actual Vatican visit
Bummed that the task in S1 didn’t work out, and was peeved they avoided it S24- maybe now is the time
-
Prague! :conf:
Okay, that's better.
-
Yaay.. for Czech Republic, i hope Italy was just sequester
-
This makes the third 1-time visit country. Not bad :)
-
Awesome to see Prague getting a visit after 15 seasons. If this is leg 6, personally hoping that following leg will be in Asia.
-
Yay for Prague!
Quick question, how sure are we that France is two leg?
I mean do we know 100% when Phil was spotted in Arles? Spec is October 10, but I don't think it was confirmed...
Maybe it could have been the first part of the Saint-Tropez leg? Or it was the start of the Prague leg, like they did last season in Greece, make them travel a few hours for one task.
-
It would be weird to spend 4 days in Fance and only get one leg
Also, teams weren’t seen leaving until the evening of the 11th
-
*** SOMETIME, IN 2018 ***
Welcome to The Amazing Race, Europe Edition........

Hopefully it means that France is the only country visited that is overused! :conf: :hoot: :bunny

Jody coming in first in Iceland, despite NONE of our eyewitnesses (some of which posted here directly) stating any pit-stop placements beyond the boxers coming in last
Any sort of leg placement in Belgium, despite us not having sights on the pit stop
The only 8 teams in Morocco episode, later proven wrong by seeing all 9 remaining teams after Morocco
Lifeguards being eliminated because they were standing next to the Basketballers, later proven wrong by their presence in Prague
Only 2 M/F teams making it to Prague, later proven wrong by photo evidence of all 3 being there
These are only the big ones
Guys, PLEASE STOP trying to claim assumptions/speculation as fact, it is slowing the process down and muddling things up for us
We hesitate to make assumptions because we’re only getting little snippets of info, and not the full picture
-
I would make things private too if people took a screenshot of my twitter and posted somewhere else without her permission. Only to make fun of her on this site where she doesn’t have an account to defend herself
Come on. That person is posting all Jody news with no credit to the people they are finding the information from and posting it as their own publicly. They are getting credit for their info here (which you seem to think is making fun of), but as a group of people who like to insure the information is fact and not speculation we need proof.

off topic

It's truly sad how much the the TAR community is ****ting on Jody fans. They're working hard as sleuths and giving much needed attention back to the show. Why the disrespect???
What does this have to with speculation. Take it to the bitch/moan thread
-

You guys are sure glued to her twitter feed though. So what’s the issue it’s disrespectful to post a screenshot of someone’s entire twitter page without her knowledge

Taking screenshots is like the best way to give credit and document spoilers.

re: France being overused
- cities/regions of France visited on TAR: Paris, Marseilles/Provence, Corsica, Normandy, the Loire Valley, Nice and surrounding areas, Mt. Blanc, and now St. Tropez
- cities/regions of Germany visited on TAR: Munich (to eventually go to Bavaria), Berlin, Hamburg
#StandForFrance
Also in general I don't really mind if a country is "overused" as long as the tasks are good and culturally relevant. We could probably have a Tokyo leg every season and still miss out on something, for instance especially if we keep having ridiculous game shows instead of actual tasks.

For some of the newer members who may think RFF is not living up to its reputation as a blockbuster spoiler site, it should be said that this is just the current nature of the game.
Two major factors may lead to this conclusion this year:
1. This was a public start.
2. There is a very popular BB team racing, along with some very noticeable Basketball players and Indy drivers, etc.
If you look back a few years, RFF has been very instrumental in spoiling TAR (non-public) starting lines. One of the most memorable to me was TAR15, which started in the Los Angeles River channel.
Even though I am classified as a "TAR Detective" I haven't been very active in recent years. I have a great deal of admiration for those who spend countless hours searching for every clue they can find.
So, thank you RFF and the great Detectives for a job well done!!
-
Also, there have been a few occasions when both sites found the information simultaneously. It doesn't make one site better than another though if you pay more attention to one, it may appear that that site was first with it.
I applaud the BB fans. They have been doing an amazing job and we've all benefited from it.

Well said. I KNOW that happened with me with a link to one video I posted because I checked the times. I think the assumptions & misconceptions are the source of the hostility, and it is a shame. The Jody fans are beasts at this!!!
-
Seriously, the amount of off-topic discussion, the false assumptions/conclusions, the misinformation, the back and forth with each other, the unsupported thoughts/inferences needs to STOP.
I getting sick and tired combing through all this! Might as well back into extinction!
Please stop. Before you post, think about it first. Please!

Season 4 almost travel the same uptil leg 5 as well
Though a big jump from Netherlands to India came next
We should be looking forward to a big jump soon

Season 25 was like this too, remember. They zigzagged through Europe, and Morocco, before jumping to Singapore for Leg 9

no Singapore please :groan:

I need some Mountains....

I forgot wha tseason it was but I loved when they went to germany near the castles and they had to ride a bike for miles to get a clue then ride all the way back lol

Season 6 has 7 legs in Europe, this season is not even as high as Season 3, 4, 9 and 25 which all have 5 legs in Europe at the beginning of the race
-
It's admittedly kinda funny how they only brushed the northern tip of Africa (which is where Tangier is, the northernmost peninsula of Morocco), and the rest so far has been Europe. Easy additional continent.
-
Yeah I mean I've been to Marbella in Spain a few times and you can literally see Tangier :funny:

-
WHY GO TO ZIMBABWE WHEN SOUTH AFRICA IS RIGHT THERE!? :groan: :dick
Agree. Morocco and Zimbabwe were last visited not that long ago in TAR (25 & 27), I would like some new or not recenetly visited african countries like South Africa or Kenya.
-
i actucal like the race couser if go to china i fine with it
-
Might not end up being there. You know what happens a lot of times when they go to an African country. They land there, and then they immediately hop on a bushplane to somewhere out in the wild.
Dunno, if production apparently feels it's stable enough, a Zimbabwe return wouldn't be all that bad considering the first time was barely like 2 miles inside the country. This time going somewhere deeper into it.
-
This truly is TAR6 2.0 lol <3
-
This truly is TAR6 2.0 lol <3
Now just please don't let it revisit the love locks Roadblock with HoH that screwed a personal favourite out of the final 3! Ugh, that was the worst, most unfair Roadblock ever IMO :(

Cause South Africa hasn't been visited since Season 7! Zimbabwe was visited in Season 25 so it is 'fresh'
OMG, that sounds SO cringey! :funny:

I don't get the auto M/M hate? I do get that there's an abnormally high amount of them this season, but how do we know they aren't going to be awesome, likeable teams?
How do we know that the remaining teams aren't all unlikeable?
I just find it odd that teams are already disliked, while others praised, solely based on their gender make-up
Sometimes my favorite for a season is M/M, some times, M/F, and others it's F/F- I find it weird that so many people limit themselves to only one gender set, or at very least completely avoid another type of gender set
-
One season is still less than the 3 visits by TAR as well as several other visits with international TAR. For me, if Zimbabwe is visited, I'm hoping for Harare because a Victoria Falls visit after TAR 27 would be too soon even if Zimbabwe is a lesser visited nation.

I agree that I have loved teams of all gender types, but personally, 90% of the time I find myself rooting for F/F teams. Idk why actually.
And more often than not, I dislike M/M teams, although, for example I liked Matt & Redmon from last season a lot.
This is of course based on completely nothing, and has 0 proof or anything, but I feel like the Indy racers might be really boring, basketball players generally invisible and pretty bland as well, while there might be potential in violinists and eaters. But the latter, based on spoilers as well, is I think will be an underdog, bottomgod type team.
Just my 2 cents. But I would have loved the goat yoga moms to persevere and make it far. And ring girls seemed like a reall strong team, so I'm beyond surprised they were out first, and wanna find out why. :(

VarshaShen on twitter is saying that Harambe will be a destination.
Make of it what you will, but she has been pretty accurate so far. ;)

Can we call use the term #bottomgoddesses for all teams, regardless of gender?
It just seems to roll off the tongue better for me :funny:
I’m praying that the Eaters are #bottomgoddesses that make it way farther than we’d expect- ala Dan and Andrew, the original bottom goddesses :funny:
-
Can we call use the term #bottomgoddesses for all teams, regardless of gender?
Absolutely!
...
I would find it hilarious is they skip Asia altogether if Oceania is such a high priority/basically confirmed. :D
-
Not confirmed, but there was wide speculation pre-season that Fiji would be visited. And I'm really hoping for that!
I wonder if someone was behind the violinists and they got to u turn someone as well. Hopefully that saved them
Why do you want a team who was U-Turn'ed to be saved?
Personally while I know it's part of the game, I would rather someone go out for their own undoing than a U-Turn
well to be fair their own undoing was not making it to the uturn before the other teams (if they are gone).
Taking this here, because it doesn't belong in the speculation thread.
To be honest, I love that there's such a mechanic as a U-Turn in the race, because it adds a strategic element to the race, allthewhile not changing the overall spirit of the show. But yeah, it's usually sad when teams are eliminated purely because of a U-Turn. And even making it to the U-Turn board behind the pack doesn't mean that the particular team wouldn't have caught up before the pit stop if there was no U-Turn.
That was the main reason why people were mad at the U-Turns being placed before Detours in S29 - the teams making it to the board depended more on luck that ever. And so I hope that wasn't the case in Prague, although some people were speculating that.
-
I think she means Harare, not Harambe :funny:
-
i actucal like the race couser if go to china i fine with it
China is overused. I don't care how many times they go - it's been beaten with a stick. Find somewhere else to go. (That pretty much goes for the whole route. I haven't been following along as much as I want to, but this whole thing seems bland/overused?)
-

Iceland, Belgium, Morocco, Czech Republic, Zimbabwe
-
Zimbabwe, underused but recently visited. Is this already confirmed? Still though, I would have preferred South Africa. A family friend went to Cape Town & Johannesburg recently and it is beautiful right now, it's spring. I would be surprised if they suddenly jump to Oceania, which I do hope happens. It's something new for the route.

Interesting question, normally I would root for all types of teams. It varies per season. I look at the personality of the teams, the team dynamics, the bios and the type of relationship they have. I've been vocal about the F/F teams because a majority of them sucked in recent seasons from S.27 to S.29 with the exception of Tiffany & Krista who've made the Final 4. I miss the F/F teams that go all the way to the end or at least are finishing in the upper positions. I'm disappointed with the Ring Girls and Goat Yoga Instructors going out first back to back. So I'm hoping for the Pro Skiers to go further. The M/M team that I'm rooting for this season are the Indy 500 Racers because 1st, I am a car enthusiast, 2nd I' m a frustrated racer, I wanted to pursue that but it is an expensive sport or a hobby so I had to discontinue. I find the other M/M teams in this season have the alpha male written all over them such as the Violinists and the NBA Players. The Twins look bland to me, first impression they seem to be like Matt & Daniel, Idries & Jamil and Michael & Scott.
-
I met the Violinists at the airport, they were charming. Just saying...
-
Haven't posted here in a while. A few things I want to say with the spoilers so far:
1. Yoga moms. :'(
2. Indy500, NBA, Eaters - 1 of them must still be in the Czechia leg. ??? I wonder who.
3. A spoiler about the W-turn! :faint: AMAZING!!! :funny: LOVE IT!
4. France is okay. I wasn't excited about it since it was used not long ago, but I can't cross them out from being good legs just because it's a recently used country. The locations are new though.
5. Go skiiers! :hoot:
6. I missed like 40 pages of the Speculation and Discussion thread. Looks like I'm not catching up to that. :funny:
7. Yay Czechia! :wohoo:
8. Woohoo Zimbabwe! :trampb:
9. I love this route so far! :hearts: Europe --> Africa --> Europe --> Africa (but please don't go back to Europe  )
-
Watch production pull a fast one and have three legs in South America lol.
Also I don't really care where they go as long as the tasks are GOOD. We've been to Vietnam plenty of times but last year's legs there were still good because the tasks were hard.
-
Also I don't really care where they go as long as the tasks are GOOD.
...says the non-Canadian TARCAN naysayer.
On-topic: Great Zimbabwe or bust!
-
That's true
Unfinished Business was almost exclusively countries that had several to MANY visits, yet I remember enjoying it a lot (and it being generally well received), despite that fact.
It had memorable tasks, memorable teams, memorable rivalries, memorable locations, memorable mistakes, and many memorable moments
I think those things determine my enjoyment more than what country it happens to be in
-
I wish they could just have stayed in Johannesburg and made a leg there instead of going through the hassle of flying to Harare
-

4 MM teams are marked at risk from Leg 4 onwards, and 1 of them is likely safe until Zimbabwe. :nut:
I'm thinking of a NEL for the Zimbabwe leg, if it really is on Leg 7 with 6 teams remaining. ??? So many teams out so early...
-

This. I'm actually rooting for the competitive eaters most having bumped into Joey Chestnut at a food fair once before. He is a genuinely nice and jovial person outside of his recognized activity. I can't wait to watch him and Tim travel around the world. But hopefully no eating tasks this season otherwise they'd have a huge advantage. I have yet to get a picture with him.
-
I wonder if Tim's kept on that luchadore face paint the whole way. Apparently it's his trademark thing whenever he competes
Guess he will for the first leg, anyway.

A new countryyyy :conf:

Happy to see that Bahrain is confirmed after yesterday's confusion
New country :trampb: :trampb: :trampb:

Yes, it's not as stable at the moment, unfortunately. But still, as you said, new country! :D

If the teams could go to the Philippines after Bahrain. So fingers crossed for my home country. Gulf Air has a direct flight from Bahrain to Manila. There is a connected flights to Manila via Abu Dhabi or Dubai.
So happy for Bahrain and a new country visited, a first for TAR franchise.

Eman is truly the Angel of Manama ~

...with one of your frequented Asian haunts for final 4!!
And spoke too soon :(

It just dawned on me that Evan and Henry are the unfittest team still standing, yet they've now outlasted the competitive eaters, the basketball players, the buff violinists, and the firefighter twins.
Truly poetic justice for the new Vanck and Ashton ~

Glad my winner pick, Indy 500, is still in it!
Glad we have 1 FF team left!
Glad we got a new country!

I also don't want to be *THAT* person, but it's kind of funny seeing that, despite of how adamant the fans are of Jody doing well, they've been presumably near the bottom for 3 legs in a row (assuming they were 4th/5th/6th out of 7 teams in Czech, potentially 5th out of 6 teams in Zimbabwe after potentially getting U-Turned, and potentially 4th out of 5 teams in Bahrain).
I do like them preshow (despite the... interesting state of the speculation getting very very exhausting to stay excited for them), but if they actually did end up being a team that bottomgodded throughout most of the Race, it would be much better TV than blandly dominating the season.
-

Very nice observation gamerfan! It just shows how dominating other teams are with an exception of lifeguards who I think screwed up in this leg big time. They were 1st to start this leg! Jody would have been out had it not been due to this messup by lifeguards. Anyways, I don't think this screw up will happen everytime!
I honestly see Jody getting eliminated next cuz other teams just look so strong and have proved it also!

The bottom line is that a team doesn't have to win....they just have to not come in last! On some legs, where they are at the mercy of a directionally challenged cab driver, or if there is a language barrier, the teams can't control those things....may times it's just luck.
-
It's a shame that about Qatar, I reckon if the relationships were good we would of had a leg there as well as Bahrain.
-
leafs stop vagueposting
also the only acceptable end to this route is 2 legs in south america make it happen production
europex1000>africax1>europex1000>africax2>asiax1>south america x2 <3

I am really ecstatic about the Indy 500 Drivers are still in, the only M/M team that I'm rooting for! :conf: Seeing the Pro Skiers as well and seeing on the Timeline Thread that they placed 2nd in Zimbabwe is :bunny Finally, another strong F/F. :hoot:
The route has gotten so much better. A new country! Hooray for Bahrain. Most legs in the Gulf Region always end up in the United Arab Emirates. This is breath of fresh air for me and Phil's want to visit country. That brings us with 89 countries on The Amazing Race. I'm hoping they pull an Oceania leg up soon. I mean S.9 did it with Oman --> Australia. They could do:
1. Bahrain --> Australia (2 Legs)
2. Bahrain --> Any underused Asian country (Cambodia, Taiwan) or new country (Laos) --> Fiji
It just dawned on me that Evan and Henry are the unfittest team still standing, yet they've now outlasted the competitive eaters, the basketball players, the buff violinists, and the firefighter twins.
Truly poetic justice for the new Vanck and Ashton ~
Henry & Evan also surprised me. I think these 2 are still in college are they? and they either edged out their competition who came from physical backgrounds or on par with the competition.

I was glad to read in Peach's post in spoiler discussion that the final 3 order isn't published here. I don't want to know the order for any leg actually. Just locations they go, any cool tasks, and who goes home.
Appreciate this place for collating the info and having fun trying to piece it together!

She mentioned TAR 11, but the other All-Stars 24 was really bad for it, too. The show's Facebook page was actually plagued with people going out of their way to post the full boot order at least once a day, including who won, and responding to comments rooting for a specific team to ruin their placement.
After that season, I appreciate that RFF does it this way.

I've seen a couple tweets from Jody fans saying they'd also rather not know the finale leg placements.
I hope we can work together to not spoil anybody on that! :)

I would be 100% on board.
SO important to the SHOW.
And think...if you are team Jody and you win...would YOU want that info out there? HIGHLY unlikely, would take away half the fun of their fans watching and make their lives miserable.

Yes, they said they won't post who wins, but I have a feeling someone on their "team" might drop heavy hints. I honestly don't care either way, spoilers for me don't make me watch or not watch a show, but I completely understand that others, especially production, don't want them.
It did seem like an "out of the blue" decision today, and my spidery senses keep wondering about a production leak, who let them know that's it for inside information?
Either way, if they are sighted, we will probably know anyway.
I guess I'm the only one rooting for an Alaska ending? Ha. I know it won't happen, but those have been my favorites.

Why do a cricket task in a country where they don't even play international cricket? :groan:

Recent seasons have finish line sightings which the boot list was eventually revealed in full once you're smart enough to spot any difference and pattern so the finish line sightings are the most crucial thing we need to held back as much as we could.
Back to TAR30, didn't Phil did mentioned on the starting line this season would travel 5 continents so I think Leg 10 and/or 11 have to be somewhere at Oceania in order to match the Phil speech.

Any chance of it being an 11 leg season? :spy:

Hope not

Indy making a sudden appearance after disappearing for several legs. :faint: :hoot:
Also, new country!!! :trampb: :hearts: :cheer:

I'd be happy if Thailand and HK/China are the last two Legs which would mean if by some miracle TAR31 happens, Oceania and Nepal or whatever other underused Asian country will be first half of a westward route. Woohoo lol

Hong Kong at NIGHT :hearts:

Night legs are always a great idea so <3

That would be very cool. There's plenty to do in HK at night. Could be the reason for the mandatory flights.
-
My wishlist of Chiang Mai was right and has not been visited in twenty-eight seasons. No more Phuket and Bangkok overused visits.
-
Nice to see Chiang Mai after 28 seasons considering there is more to Thailand than Bangkok and Phuket. Kinda meh on Hong Kong being visited again so soon even if it was a half leg. If they are aiming for a night leg though, (probably the only night leg of the season) that does sound awesome since night legs usually deliver.
-
Somebody went to Chiang Mai because we had great spoilers.... TAR Asia maybe?? ???

Well, there goes the dream of visiting Australia, New Zealand or Fiji. :groan: They can reserve that continent for next season if ever that happens which I do really hope we get another season. On the bright side a Thailand visit not limited to Bankok or Phuket is great, happy for Chiang Mai to be visited. Hong Kong again, why? it could have been Taiwan but if it means a night leg, I will have no problem. Night legs on Asian cities are :conf: Here's to hoping the Pro Skiers & Indy 500 make the Final 3 and don't end up like Tiffany & Krista and Matt & Redmond.

I'm not a big fan of Thailand because it has been visited recently, but I don't think we've had F5(?) in Thailand since TAR14. This should be fine. :)
As for Hong Kong, it may have also been visited recently with 4 teams, but a night leg there would be great! :hearts: I'm also probably biased because I've been to Hong Kong 5 or more times already, so I can say that I'm familiar with certain areas of it. Makes me wish I am in Hong Kong right now. :(
-
1 M/M, 1 F/F and 2 M/F's remain. Skiers, Indy & Jody are physically strong but the Debaters, what a surprise, I pegged them as early boots and they've gone far.
-
With the good 1st impressions I have for this cast, it's amazing to see who's still in the competition but it's also sad to know which teams already went out.

So sick of Hong Kong and making this a five-peat and behind of Bangkok (1, 2, 9, 14, 19, 26). I am so upset. :dick :idgit (:;)
-
Really wish they did a night penultimate leg in Taipei and not Hong Kong, but I still love this route so much, and this season looks really promising ❤️
-
Henry & Evan's Speedbump indicates a night leg for me. Production would not put the sign there immediately if they were to start it the next morning. Night leg, penultimate leg :conf:

Last time we saw HK night leg was in TAR 17, so that’s fine for me...

I get that they're doing this to make the F5 elimination in Bahrain a 50-50, but that makes Leg 10 anticlimactic. This is why I think TAR should be putting NEL's towards the beginning.

Lol I don't mind Hong Kong at all, it's like one of my favorite places on Earth even though I've never been there.
Plus my current college flatmate is from Hong Kong and she used to watch TAR, so I'm sure we're gonna watch this season together now lol <3
Thailand had a new area visited this time and its last visit was undermined by Harley & John being so far behind, so I'm happy about Thailand being visited as well.

I wonder if they considered they will also attract Jody haters? :groan:
Indeed. Isn't that basically what happened on BB? They became the underdogs you wanted to root for against the perceived favorites/frontrunners?
And overzealous fans always turn people off, whether it's sports or K-pop or reality show contestants. Heck, we've certainly had many TAR teams like that :-X
lol
...
Anyway, I assume the Speed Bump was at the first part of the Leg? If not first Route Marker? That's refreshing for TAR, having it so early and allowing that team to catch up.
Though I'm sure some people would think that is horrible since they apparently want the Debaters out like, yesterday lol

Ugh, that's a leg I don't like to remember. Half of the hour was the fake food Roadblock, the other half was Nick & Vicki laying in the sampan moaning about how over the race they were.
Hopefully this one is an improvement.

All the Jody sight chasers might create a new type of roadblock for that team. Without any mistakes, when it comes down to a footrace may the longer legs prevail. :bunny

"Shipper fans" are always annoying on twitter, and BB always has a bunch of them. I just think of them as tweens and appreciate the spoilers.
They certainly aren't powerful enough to turn me off a team, but if they were getting production inside info (not all of them, but a couple) I hope it doesn't bite Jody in the ass with production. ? Probably not. They knew Thailand was next before anyone though, knew the Lifeguards were eliminated, on and on.
I don't really know the other teams, I'm sure various ones will surprise me and I'd be rooting for them, except I think we will know who wins (not here.) I just hope Jody had fun and are enjoyable to watch, they went through hell on BB, so I'm rooting for them to have a much better experience. If they don't win? Hell, final 3 is great, they might have won a prize or two, and they could still come in second.
No male/male teams left! Woo! That's kind of cool after watching so many seasons of that particular mix winning.

This Final 3 actually looks good on paper! :hoot:
Now I'm really just hoping that the Jody fans respect the game :/ I'm as happy as they are for them making the end, but I really don't want to see a win handed on a silver platter just because of a pre-existing fanbase.

It's a little bittersweet for me. The Skiers survived, so yeah. That makes them another F/F to join the elite group of F/F teams that made the Final 3. :conf: But sad about the Indy 500. They were physically strong, saw the fitness routine of Alex Rossi and it's hardcore. Your body needs to be super fit in car racing because of the g-forces involved. It's just ugh!! I'd be pissed if I've come this far to be only tripped up by some puzzle solving challenge. :( Out of my Top 5 only 1 made it till the end.

Little bit of a stretch but there might be another reason for Phil to do that. IE one of the other teams was disqualified.
Or possibly because the location of the mat was compromised so early...

MM teams don't always make it to the finale, but MM teams being in the finale happens more often than having FF teams in the finale. With that, I'm glad the skiers made it in! What I think happens the most is MF teams making it to the finale. Was there an instance where there were zero MF teams in the finale? ???

Dryedmangoez, I wonder what's your definition of an exciting route. I'd love to know! :D
-
What is historical about this race? Perhaps it is just a theme and the pit stops themselves are historical to the city/country visited. Examples: The Tree of Life in Bahrain and the Original Coastline in Hong Kong.
-
Not sure what you mean ??? Many tasks & locations each season relate to the respective country's history.
-
Not sure what you mean ??? Many tasks & locations each season relate to the respective country's history.
I was hoping Phil's historical remark at the start meant more of an impact to the actual production format - that the 30th show itself would be "historical". Perhaps the airing will reveal more meaning.
Example: connect previous shows 1 through 29 someway with a big final leg. Perhaps film 30 days with more cities and countries. It is the high bar of the CBS shows TAR, Survivor and BB, so raise the bar a little higher.
TAR is the closest show to Eco Challenge (which was awesome) and hopefully doesn't meet the same ending.
-
Maybe he justsaid historical because season 30 is a milestone?
Otherwise, I would interpret the route as a historical nod to under-visited countries (for the most part).
-
At the beginning of the race, seeing 2 of the 3 F/F being the first teams eliminated was so disappointing. I was so scared we would have an all-male final 3 since more than half the teams in the final 9 were M/M and most of them looked quite fit. So glad they all got eliminated!
And this final 3 is the best scenario (for me) after the first two eliminations. We finally have another F/F in the final three, + Vanck & Ashton 2.0 and Jessica & Cody.
As for the route, Nepal :pity
BUT, there are legs in 10 countries, with only 2 countries hosting two legs. There's a new country, lots of undervisited ones, they finally realized that Thailand =/= Bangkok & Phuket, and a penultimate night leg!
I really hope that the teams will be rootable and entertaining, and that the tasks and leg designs will be great!
-
Really hope there's a big memory task in the finale :conf:

I mean I love that San Francisco is visited again. But a night leg severely limits what they can do. Other cities are more active at night. SF? Not so much.
And judging from the tasks already spoiled, it shows. I'd be pretty upset that what could be TARUS' final visit to SF (final Leg evah?) might be poor.

Perhaps I'll see you for season 31 if there is one.

No LA after 19 seasons, I'm okay with that even if they're still in California. Ironic that the last time this situation happened was TAR 11, which also had a finale in San Francisco.
Just want to say to all the detectives that the work you do every season is incredible. I've been reading this site for a couple of years, so it was so much fun to join and to watch the season play out.

I gotta say, from my perspective on the ground, it looks like it'll be a good finale
Variety of tasks (physical challenge with kayaks, scary element with some type of base jumping in the Bay, riddles for clues, final memory (maybe?) task), cool venues and vistas, it seemed that team placement was shifting around quite a bit throughout the leg, and the craziness with the unpaid taxi drivers at the final destination!
Should be fun to see how things shake out on the show!

The way u put it sounds way better than what I thought. I hope the taxi payment is like a team goes to the finish line and Phil tells them they have to go pay their taxi, then the 2nd team comes and he says the same thing then the third team comes and wins by default LOL

San Francisco did serve as the finish in TAR 16. However, TAR 16 started in LA, so this is the first time since season 11 that LA and southern CA are neither the start nor the finish.
Thank you TexasLady.

It's kinda sad that TAR filming has stopped for another season...
Let's have fun watching it however, when it comes to air! :conf:
-
I hope we go back to filming to the 2-season per year... I hope the viewership is so monumental that we get renewed for more seasons.
-
Yeah, I miss the fun of tracking the race live more often. :/

That would be awesome. The past few seasons, real life has kept me from playing along with you all during the filimg. It would be nice to have a chance to do it again.
-

Hoping to wait for renewal next May if we could get back to two season(s) per year if any of new reality show flops.
-
It would be historic for TAR to go back to the 2-season fliming per year. I agree with you Marionete, tracking the Race unfold twice a year has been a joy to do and having it once only per year means there's something lacking.
-
It might not be a shared opinion.. This season has casted big names, popular names, semi-famous names, if I was in casting I would have completely casted full notable people. I would haved dropped the Lifeguards, Twins, Debaters and Ring Girls in lieu of more popular people. Surprised they got Indy, Skiers, NBA Players to do this and so did Team Jody who just finished BB 19. They could have casted Celebrity Chefs, Former Survivor Contestants preferably fan favorites, Talk Show Hosts, Singers, Olympic Athletes, Actors/Actresses, Writers and Astronauts We are in dire need of viewers to save TAR.
-
This mix gives me a similar vibe to Season 23's cast. 3 1/2 teams connected to pro sports (the half being Tim. He was a baseball player, but I'd guess because his backstory was his ex, we never heard about it).

Yup. I loved tracking teams 3 times a year. I love the thrill of it even though I'm not great at the US seasons.

First winter season since S11 that didn’t visit Germany or Switzerland

It is not winter in Germany/Switzerland though. :P

First winter season since S11 that didn’t visit Germany or Switzerland
It's fall/autumn right now in Europe. Winter doesn't officially start in December.
-
Regarding time of year, is this the first time they have filmed in October?
My recollection is that the Spring season was usually filmed between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and the Fall season was filmed in June/July.

Yup, TAR14 was late October.

That one thing Hong Kong is not on the original route for this season. Australia was included for the original route, but Hong Kong was a last-minute replacement as an alternate penultimate leg.

As the original route that could include Australia, there is no direct flights between Melbourne and San Francisco.

This a lie. Please stop spreading false information. :groan:
I was thinking the same thing. Production would not spend just one leg in that continent given the costs.

They came to Hong Kong... and literally just a few blocks from where i work and i missed them :didimiss: :chute: :dick :dick

They look into a lot of things when setting up the route. Available flights would be high on that list. They need to know that production staff can take an early flight and teams a flight several hours later. I don't think a direct nonstop flight is a must, but if it is, it would have been noticed long ago. In which case, if a nonstop flight was mandatory, Melbourne would never have been on the route. I can't believe they would go to all the trouble of setting up a leg in Melbourne and then a few weeks ahead of time suddenly realize "Hey! No direct flights! Switch to plan B!"
-
Probably easier earlier in the route, seems like for finales, they like to have a nice and easy direct flight back to the States.
Substitute countries have happened. According to racers, 19 was supposed to have Laos, and Family Edition was supposed to have Belize. 24 allegedly cut out Philippines and, yup, Australia. All of those were caused by an occurring hurricane/typhoon.

As far as I know there is no evidence for this at all. Can you provide a source for this please Claude? I know we speculated Aus would be overdue for a visit, but I never saw a confirmed route.

Had you joined our HK ground team, we will have more sightings!
-
If you live somewhere that TAR might come, PLEASE signup in Peach's List! You never know...
I think I reached out in under 10 min from first HK sighting lol. But often we have time to plan!
-
I think Claude might be think of TAR 28 where people found a task location in Melbourne ahead of time, saw that it fit the filming schedule and assumed it was us, only to find out it was HaMerotz hosting their penultimate leg. Fwiw Australia (and New Zealand and most islands in Oceania) work a lot better as the first leg(s) especially starting from LAX where they can fly nonstop or with simple connections.
Also I thought about the route and honestly my only complaint is two legs in southern France, especially spaces out the way they were. Replace Arles with Nantes or Toulouse and I'd be all about it :hoot:
-
In case anyone is curious about what has been replaced before (at least what I know of)
2: Argentina was cut, replaced with a second New Zealand leg
5: Turkey and Japan were cut, replaced with UAE (Turkey would of been Leg 5, so Egypt and Tanzania were pushed up one leg) and Philippines
8: Belize was cut, I think the half Costa Rica and Arizon leg was what it was replaced with, but I don't remember right now
11: Zanzibar was originally supposed to be half a leg with the other half in the mainland and then a second mainland leg, replaced with a full leg in Zanzibar and Macau (pushing Poland, Malaysia, and Hong Kong one leg)
15: A LOT! At least South Korea, a European country, Ghana, and Brazil were cut, replaced with at least Japan, Netherlands, Sweden, and Estonia.
19: Laos was cut, replaced with a second Thailand leg
24: Philippines and Australia were cut, replaced with two Malaysia legs

Season 15 felt like it never made any alterations. I'm genuinely surprised. To me, I'm impressed how pleasantly put that season was despite all of those changes because that is one of my favorite routes. We wouldn't have had wasabi roulette, Detour dynamite, teams experiencing Lena & Kristy's former nightmare, and the Pit Stop run shove.
Just wondering, has season 30 made any last minute changes to their route too?

Here's to hoping for an incredible premiere to ring in 2018! Start off on a high note!
-
How can the producers of this show think that people will turn their TV’s and put on TAR if they keep recruiting teams?? What happened to “casting”? What happened to “auditions”? Normal people can’t even dream about being on their favorite show on television, because they know 70% of people racing are chosen by the producers considering some “standars” (cuteness, posibly rating booster, muscles, looks, etc)
-
Well hopefully it gets to a more reasonable ratio at least in season 31. But yeah having a lot of recruits isn't the best look for a show (Survivor Fiji)
-
Interesting tidbit from the latest Goat Yoga Video: http://www.azfamily.com/clip/14017922/goat-yoga-creators-compete-on-the-amazing-race
3 Teams applied.
8 Teams recruited.
sigh.....
In recent seasons, that ratio is probably 5:6 at best, anyway. Yet, for all their recruiting teams they think will be good TV, it obviously hasn't moved the ratings needle in the right direction.

Agree with this 100% <333

I don't care about recruits as long as they prove to be good TV :cmas22
-
From the Entertainment Weekly TAR 30 preview of episode 1 in Iceland:
“Heights is not my thing, dangling is not my thing, but The Amazing Race has been a part of my family’s lives for 29 seasons,” says contestant Cedric Ceballos as he makes his way to the flag. “I know my kids will be watching. I didn’t want to but it was for the race.”
Just because you were recruited and never applied doesn't mean you can't be a big fan of the show.

I think the Express pass has died?
It no longer gives out an advantage anyway. It just sets a target on one's back.
-
Hope so. But they could still surprise us!
-
Didn't the Jody fans tweet that Jody came in first place for the first leg and won an Express Pass? :xmas49

lol I had already forgotten that :cmaslol

No Express Pass? :(
I wouldn't be surprised if it pops out as like a Leg 6 prize or an additional task like TAR25
-
Looking at past seasons with numbers ending in -0...
TAR 10 had a M/M team win, with a F3 consisting of M/M, M/F and F/F. A history was made: First all-female to make F3.
TAR 20 had a M/F team win, with a F3 consisting of M/F, M/M and M/F. A history was made: Winner with most leg wins and highest average (8 and 1.83) and first Big Brother team to make F3.
TAR 30 had ? team win, with a F3 consisting of F/F, M/F and M/F (?). A history was made: ?.
We'll see...
Be wary, this is just a coincidence.
Skiers may become first F/F teams ever win both first leg and final leg
-
Eric & Daniel survive the 2nd leg by pit manuvering April's cart and they had the audacity to say sorry to April & Sarah. They did it on purpose! why say your Sorry? Ugh. If I was in the position of April & Sarah I would be fuming mad at the twins.
(Pet Peeve: I just hate it when people say they're sorry for something when they actually have done it on purpose, regardless of the position/circumstance. Yes it's a Race and you have to get ahead of your competitors but don't say sorry when your actions have caused a team their elimination. It adds insult to injury.)
-
^^ They did what they had to win this leg. That does NOT preclude them being sorry that it had to be two of their closest race friends.
The ones who should be sorry is production. TERRIBLE placement IMO...
-
I cant fault Eric and Daniel for that. Heck, they even said that April and Sarah were the better team that leg, which I thought was rather humble.
-
Great second leg, but as usual wrongly implemented twists screw them unnecessarily (lookin' at you Survivor HHH).
And Phil does not make a good Survivor host  The narration during the Frites challenge was horrible  Sorry Phil. :p
-
I like how the 3 teams who have won a leg so far seem so... promising, promising to be in the F3. :grins:
Also, it looks like one team will be eliminated per week even on double episodes, except for the one later/tomorrow, but that takes place in the same country, so all is cool. 8)
-
The editing this season really has been odd. Like, there's some poor editing choices and then overuse of transitional flashes and random cut ins. It's very strange.
-
No Express Pass? :(
I wouldn't be surprised if it pops out as like a Leg 6 prize or an additional task like TAR25
If it's not the prize for checking in first at the Metronome, then it might well be the death of the EP.
-
This cast is seriously so good. I like everybody, and almost every team has an interesting dynamic.
I wish they could cast like this without recruits next season!
-
I like the concept of the Head to Head but it is really not where it is supposed to be on the Leg. That being the sole determinant of the elimination is frustrating to watch. Better if it would be in the middle of the Leg in future Seasons.
-
I hope they don't show up with the Express Pass now. I've only enjoyed it because it was the 1st leg prize. It's not cool when it goes past that.
-
I feel like the partner swap would make it difficult for a team to use the EP so I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't in this season.
If they were looking for some form of teams skipping task(s) this season they might as well have a FF somewhere :luvya:
-

Could not agree more. Not only is it hard to watch, but it's so cheap! The show is way more intense without the unnecessary transitions!!
Also the camerawork is really odd sometimes. Don't get me wrong, the cameramen of TAR work extremely hard! But rewatch Lucas & Brittany running to the Pit Stop in 1st. It's just so .. shaky?
-

Definitely agree about it feeling cheap. There are better, more smooth transitions in even free video editing software, tbh.
During the sailing Road Block, they kept using that split screen transition. Like repeatedly within seconds. Having just rewatched the TAR10 Madagascar ep last week, I was struck by how excellent and clever the editing was. Especially during the FF/bed Detour back and forth. No transitions used at all. Just quick and creative cuts to each scene. So much better than what we've seen recently on TAR.
It really does look and feel less professional, which is sad considering how editing had always been one of TAR's strongest points.
-
The switching partners stuff is not cool for me. I hope they do it for just a task or just a leg.
-
I feel like the partner swap would make it difficult for a team to use the EP so I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't in this season.
Unless it gets awarded at the next Pit-Stop with the same stipulation as Social Media Edition's: usable up to the end of Leg 9, well after the teammate switch twist concludes.
-

The editing did used to be so clever. I still don't understand how nowadays they can't fit all team placements. Ihate how we have to rely on insider clips for crucial info.. or to even grow closer to a team. The televised episode should be achieving that...
For example, I actually love Henry & Evan on the insider clips - they had a lighthearted moment of getting into someone's car by accident - would have helped to show that funny moment in the episode.
And Kristi & Jen seem more cutthroat/competitive behind the scenes. They're just racebots on TV imo.
I was rewatching TAR 17 Leg 4 and even Katie & Rachel and Connor & Jonathan's race to the finish was more intense lol.
-

This is still applicable for the past double ep  Head-to-heads at the pitstop are unfair as hell. Great leg though, but ugh. :faint:
:barf

This is the first season where I don't like Phil as a host.
Even when his live commentary (with the currently-in-first team passing by) was introduced, I wasn't as annoyed as I am with his Face-Off commentary and general hosting this season.

Agreed 1000%. Phil is most unique when he's laidback and QUIET. not some awkward sports announcer..

Yeah.
-
Phil's popping up at random times starting with TAR25 was okay. But his Head-to-Head commentary feels so forced. And his Mat Chats this season have been kinda awkward. Also feels a little too contrived as well.
-
Mat chats are weird. Making Conor look like an idiot, not that he needs much help, but it seems kind of mean. Asking the skiiers who are both married who the eye-candy is????
-
Random ratchet Harare intersection makes the intro, yet not the ruins of Great Zimbabwe when last season showed safari animals that never actually appeared in either Tanzanian leg? :cmas29
P.S. Screw the excessive NYC shots when poor SF isn't even represented outside of #TeamExtreme!
-
HK should've been given the Seoul treatment from last season, i.e. not shown at all in the intro besides a split-second acknowledgement at the end.
(Now, if Taiwan had been the rightful penultimate leg, then by all means showcase it!)
-
Kinda want to say that the express pass riddance, is one of the best decision ever by crews. Recent usage was just to avoid U-turn and created an unnecessary drama. Also, it created the actual pure competitive teams that would just running and running without the advantage, and thats what it was great to watch, altho we have to wait until F5 left to do so
-
I miss the Express Pass... :escape
-
The absence of the EP this season was quite bittersweet to me, but more sweet than bitter. Bitter because the Express Pass is one of my favorite things in TAR. Sweet because the lack of it doesn't convince any team to U-turn the team with the EP. For the past few seasons, teams with the EP have been U-turned, because they're seen as a threat with such an advantage. (Becca & Floyd are an exception because of how they received it and how nobody knows about it.)

I don't care at all about the Express Pass so i'm fine with it being gone
-
The EP started out fine. But once it had been around teams had a pre-chance to think about how to deal with it...which makes it useless.
Not sorry to see it gone, it has outlived its initial charm.

I feel the same way with the long-drawn Speed Bump.
-
I don't mind the speed bump. Teams might know what it means...but they have no idea what it will be.

Gonna talk about final task here... While i really hyped for the final task, and claimed that it was one of the best final task of all time in TAR history, there was a flaw about this task (beside peach's point "properly assemble plane' thing)
You have recognized all stickers that representing 12 legs, and one of them is a magnifying glass (Prague). And the magnifying glass was representing A roadblock in Prague when the supervisor checked their answers with it.
The problem is, not all of the final task doers did the RB, and the one was Henry. I could have sworn that thing Henry changed the piece that cost his chance of be a winner was that magnifying glass, since he didnt the RB back then, so it would have confused him even more than other racers.
Also Jen on r/TheAmazingRace admitted that magnifying glass was really made them confused since not it wasnt part for the RB at all (i mean yeah it was used as decotation for checking their rb answer tho), but also came from another task in Belgium (Diamond task) which was a detour(altho it was solved by reading the detour task)
My point is they could have gone with all stickers that not only representing each legs, but also be visible with other member teams, especially non participating RB member teams. I mean, Henry and Evan could have discussed it before Henry started to assemble the plane's part, but idk if it was allowed, but crews should have prevented from a final task doer being an disadvantaged, since it was a literally final task, and it would be unfair.
That, however, is my only complaint on final task, and i still happy that they made that final task. Confindently, the best final task ive watched since 12 and 21.

What a great find! yes I totally agree with you, no wonder everyone spent more than an hour for that task..
Yes, this is really unfair to the racer who did not do that specific roadblock, there is no way Henry would have known what a magnifying glass mean. Wonder if the result would be different if Evan did that task.
I think in Season 12 when they had this logic game, the items involved were all known to both racers, so this time there is really some flaws in the task planning. They could have used beer to switch for that which is an easy choice.

One might argue that TK & Rachel did not choose the Bike detour in Amsterdam.
However, they should at least have known it from the detour clue description, unlike Henry with the magnifying glass

Yes, agree with that, at least it's a detour and when you read the clue you know at least what it could involve.
Same as the very first memory challenge in Season 3, when Zach did not do the Singapore mermaid detour but he could guess it may involve that animal on the totem.
But for the case of Henry, I think it is not likely he could guess it may be related to Prague, and it seems more difficult as there must be more than 12 pictures. For Bahrain they have the balance and the bird, so that means you also need to eliminate repeated pictures in one leg.
-
I think it's a bit of an issue when the teams literally could not figure out what the drawing is supposed to depict. That kinda defeats the point of it being a memory task right?
They should have just made it the symbol a phone, which could have easily lead to confusion between using it for the teleboutique in Tangier or the Prague RB. As far as I can tell, the only thing representing Tangier anyway was the fish.
-
I had trouble figuring out what some of the items were myself Good pickup elthemagnifico!

I don't think it would have made a difference if Evan did the task. And if it did make a difference it wouldn't have been because of the magnifying glass. None of us recognized that image as from Prague (even the ones who did the roadblock). We all made the association to the diamond detour, despite not doing it. We knew you needed to view a diamond through a magnifying glass, but since none of us did the task, we had no idea what it actually looked like. Every other image (besides the bird from Bahrain) was something we physically interacted with in some way, shape or form, so the magnifying glass was a terrible choice. There were two other images for Prague as well. One of an animated beer in a bathtub and another of a map of Europe with a red dot on Prague. The issue for me was not about the images though. I address that on my blog this week.
Also, the piece that Henry changed at the end was the vertical stabilizer. He had the magnifying glass on his plane (it was on his propeller). The images he swapped out were Elephant (Thailand)/French Fry (Belgium) for Bats (Hong Kong)/BeerBath (Prague). But if he thought the magnifying glass was representing Belgium and he didn't think he had anything for Prague, it would have made sense. Then he ended up with two images from Prague & Hong Kong and none for Belgium & Thailand.
Regardless, I do agree that the magnifying glass was a very poor choice of images.

I wonder what was Henry & Evan responses (especially Henry) when he found out he was so close yet so far from the finish line just because of one minor mistake
-
How far were Henry and Evan and Kristi and Jen behind Cody and Jessica timewise? Is there any official answer to that?

Henry was about 10 minutes behind Jessica. I think he had one more wrong check before he got it right.
I was more than an hour after them. There was a detail of this puzzle that I got hung up on that the other teams didn't notice. Not sure if I was just supposed to not notice, but it hung me up BIG TIME...
-
That's really interesting to know since in the show you really lose track of the time lapses due to editing.
Well, I'll have you know that all of our family was rooting for you two in the finale, and you guys had a great run.

Thank you for the support! I appreciate that they edited to make it look close, but it was not... Haha!

This makes me curious. Did you know enough aerospace engineering to be bothered by the backwards wing that Georgiapeach mentioned earlier?

In his RHAP interview, Henry said it was heartbreaking when he watched it.

I knew that an airplane had to be symmetrical to fly, but wasn't 100% sure if the thick edge should face forward or backward. Some of my best friends are aerospace engineers... So, I went and looked at another plan on the flight deck to confirm. It made the puzzle unsolvable. I apparently wasn't supposed to take the orientation into consideration, but I'm just far too logical for that.

Thanks for responding. This makes me sad for you and your team. Now you should find a good lawyer and make a case against CBS. Your team should also be given a million. Even though I am a BB and Team Jody fan, I'm sure that you would have support from, at least, me and Georgiapeach.. :funny:

It was disheartening to say the least. But the other teams had the same plane pieces, they just didn't think about the orientation of the wings. Regardless of the outcome, we're so grateful to CBS for the opportunity to race. A win in the end wouldn't have changed anything except fattening our wallets. We still hold our heads high for our performance and are happy for the winning team. :ghug:

Jen, I have to say I love your attitude about your experience and I thank you for coming here and answering questions that we as fans of the show had. I was really hoping that you and Kristi would win but I have to admit I did like Cody and Jessica as well so was happy for them.
I so look forward to seeing you guys on another season in the future!
:ty

Jen, you guys deserved to win.
But anyway, thanks so much for coming to this site and answering our questions!
With love from Australia :kuss:
-
Were there any other tasks that weren't included in the episodes other than the one in Bahrain? If so, how did you guys do with them?
-
I was just thinking of the twists this season, and I think they were the reason there was no EP this season. Come to think of it, how does one use the EP on the Head-to-Head or Partner Swap? ??? I think they took away the EP to make room for fresh new TAR twists.

Quick question for Jen. Do either of you have any interest in trying to do the other members of the CBS reality trifecta, Survivor or Big Brother?

I'd love to see Kristi or Jen in Survivor! I think Jen is going to be amazing on Survivor <3
