Title: Amazing Race 15
Post by: gingerman28 on May 29, 2009, 09:18:05 PM
It will be June on Monday.  Isn't it about time that we started a seperate thread for TAR15?  We should be on the lookout for something to happen pretty soon, if they want to finish post production in time for a late September premiere shooting should start soon.

Have we checked the "want ads" or producer's logs to see if any jobs are being offered to work on a new reality series??

I have an update from the Center for Disease Control:

CDC Travel Health Warning for Novel H1N1 Flu in Mexico Removed
Updated: May 15, 2009

CDC’s Travel Health Warning recommending against non-essential travel to Mexico, in effect since April 27, 2009, has now been downgraded to a Travel Health Precaution for Mexico.

Current Situation
CDC has been monitoring the ongoing outbreak of novel H1N1 flu in Mexico and, with the assistance of the Mexican authorities, has obtained a more complete picture of the outbreak. There is evidence that the Mexican outbreak is slowing down in many cities though not all. In addition, the United States and other countries are now seeing increasing numbers of cases not associated with travel to Mexico. Finally, the risk of severe disease from novel H1N1 virus infection now appears to be less than originally thought.

CDC Recommendations
At this time, CDC has removed its recommendation that U.S. travelers avoid travel to Mexico.

CDC continues to recommend that travelers visiting Mexico take steps to protect themselves from getting novel H1N1 flu.

CDC recommends that travelers at high risk for complications from any form of influenza discuss with their physicians the risks and benefits of travel in the context of their planned itinerary to Mexico, and may want to consider postponing travel.

It goes on to list categories of at-risk people. No AR15 racers passing a physical exam would be at-risk.

So this means that AR15 could safely visit Mexico.

I still don't think they would. It just wouldn't look good if the racers started coming down sick, and considering the stress of the race, the racers immune systems wouldn't be in the best of shape to be fighting off infections.

See, now we are getting back on target.   :jumpy: :jumpy: :jumpy:

Hopefully we will pick up something meaty soon.

And, there is still that long ago speculation of the teams going overseas individually and actually starting the race somewhere  outside of the USofA such as Beliz or Canada just to keep us from spotting the actual start.

Keep your eyes peeled :yess:

Please do NOT post statements like this unless you can confirm them.

You can say "I would like it if", or "it would make sense if", but let's all be careful about making unconfirmed statements.

I still believe we may be looking at late June, not early June, as described elsewhere. :)

Thanks for the update apskip!

Yes, Melbourne is beautiful (I lived in Moonee Ponds for a while back in 1973).  They went to Cairns in Season 1, maybe they could do a tribute to that season in season 15 and visit the same countries.

Cairns was season 4. They never went to Aus in series 1.

Here is the history of Amazing Race visits to Australia:

2-Sydney, Adelaide,
4-Brisbane, Mooloolaba, Cairns,
9-Perth, Freemantle, Darwin

For Amazing Race Asia, ARA1 visited Sydney

Coutzy is right. Melbourne is the only really large Australian city not visited yet (I don't put Canberra or Hobart in that category). It should be next when they visit Australia and I think Hobart would be appropriate also.

2-Sydney, Adelaide, Coober Pedy
4-Brisbane, Mooloolaba, Cairns,

Coutzy is right. Malbourne is the only really large Australian city not visited yet (I don't put Canberra or Hobart in that category). It should be next when they visit Australia and I think Hobart would be appropriate also.

Very much correct about Canberra. There is a fair bit to do, but the city itself is tiny.

I'd like to see more of Adelaide as well, instead of just the snippet we got between Sydney and Coober Pedy.

Given that Melbourne is considered (By locals at least) the sporting capital of Australia, and that the biggest football (AFL) stadium in the country is situated there (Along with loads of other great stuff, including wine in the Yarra valley.  Sorrento and the Mornington Penninsula (More wine!) looks marvellous. We also have a good historical backing with the gold rush of the 1850's in Ballarat and Sovereign Hill.)

A potential leg could look something like this:

Fly into Melbourne

Fast Forward: Participate in a game of Ninepin at Sovereign Hill until a certain score is achieved. Fly by helicopter directly to the Pit Stop (Since Ballarat is a long way from Melbourne itself, and without the fast way to the Pit Stop, the FF is no real advantage.)

Detour: Kick x amount of goals at the MCG using an Australian Rules football, or win x amount of hands at blackjack at Crown Casino.

Additional Task: Ride the Scenic Railway at Luna Park (The worlds oldest continuously operating Roller Coaster), in St. Kilda (While there, play a game of "Spot the flimsy pretext we used to be able to put in a U-Turn") Anybody who has been to Melbourne and seen Luna Park would understand how iconic the place is.

Roadblock: Stomp on grapes at a vineyard in the wine district of the Mornington Penninsula to make x amount of bottles of wine.

Pit Stop: The entrance to Gumbuya Park, near Pakenham (Giant Peacock out the front, quite the memorable destination)

Oh, and self driving throughout the leg, because it's always fun to watch Americans try to drive on the left!

If you're going that route, then the next leg should start with a ferry to Tasmania, then driving to Hobart, etc.

So most likely newer countries will be visited. For ex. Paraguay, Belgium and Nepal

I hope they come to Europe, if nothing extrardinary happens. And I'd love them to come to Spain! I can be a PitStop greeter!!!!  I also think that South America is returning this year, which makes me feel sad as I'm bored of seeing locals speaking Spanish out of my country (Just kidding), but I see al the legs in South America alike to each other.

I hope that there are 15 episodes, or 16 or 17. The more there are the better it is! And, I'm just looking for another 60+ year-old team!! They rock!

Articles like this one lead me to believe that we'll see much more "product placement" in TAR 15. Maybe not Hellmans Mayonaise but other more international brands like McDonalds, Mercedes etc...

http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/278972-Broadcast_Network_Execs_Expect_More_Integrated_Campaigns_This_Upfront_Season.php

BTW - I'm starting to like Nina Tassler...
Quote
CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said the product integrations her network did with Unilever this season -- involving the company’s Hellman’s mayo product on New Adventures of Old Christine and Bertolli pasta throughout CBS’ Monday night comedy lineup -- was held up as a “gold standard” for how these deals should work. “We’re in talks about doing it again,” she said.

Has anyone given thought to the possibility that the sighting in Bogota might provide cover for AR15 to have that as its first stop? TARLatin America creates that possibility of two races being in the same area at the same time to confuse spoilers. I don't have any evidence that this is the case, but just want to see how others react to this concept.

If CBS would want to show us a season of TAR this fall, filming must resume at this early point in time... I'm quite worried and alarmed now, that the WHO has now declared that Swine Flu is officially a pandemic... XD That it may delay filming due to foreign reactions and restraints toward this proclamation...

Here's the news about the proclamation: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/un_un_swine_flu

Let's keep in mind that more people have been killed by regular flu since the H1N1 strain was discovered.

But I think we all agree in our hope that this doesn't effect the filming schedule.

This is going to be another case of the vaccine being more deadly than the virus, I think. Or at least an excuse to get certain unnecessary vaccines to people. (:;)

If it helps to cover the costs of the race, then I can overlook it. Travelocity is already a part of the race for many years (love the :gnome) so if we get something like a McD's or KFC helping out a leg or two, then I'm all for it.

I'm curious. Why is everyone in the West trying to downplay the pandemic? The West was definitely not as kind or calm during SARS (100x more people die in the US each year from seasonal flu than in the world from SARS, and SARS wasn't a pandemic either).

The article is pretty telling in that the on-the-ground situation is worse than what officials are saying...

Quote
concerns were raised that some countries, such as Britain, were not accurately reporting their cases
Quote
there was a wider spread of swine flu than was being reported
Quote
Many health experts said the world has been in a pandemic for weeks but WHO became too bogged down by politics to declare one

and the social impact which can easily affect production...

Quote
a bus arriving in Argentina from Chile was stoned by people who thought a passenger had swine flu
Quote
China has quarantined travelers, including New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, on the slightest suspicion of contact with an infected person.

Hey - look at my post count. Someone has to be the devil's advocate, right?

How the flu can help us determine some broad trends for the route of TAR15:

All destinations in East and Southeast Asia are taking substantial measures to contact-trace passengers who arrive on flights with infected persons, and quarantine is a distinct possibility. Containment measures are drastically more relaxed in South America, Europe and Africa, so we should be seeing TAR15 take a West-to-East approach, where the risk of sharing a flight with an infected person into Asia is lower.

Africa, East Europe, South and Southwest Asia are up until now relatively untouched by the pandemic - not surprising, given the comparative traffic volume from North America. We should be seeing some of our destinations come from these regions.

Osaka and Melbourne are fighting community spread, with significant clusters across the rest of their respective countries. China has a very strict containment and quarantine policy, and a history of under-reporting the severity of contagious disease. Hong Kong has just declared its first case of community spread. If TAR15 decides to go around the world, I see Southeast Asia as the most plausible Pacific crossing point.

Again, I am not expecting the flu to be a significant factor in the TAR 15 start. It will be shot soon, the route is presumably fixed, and H1N1 has not been especially virulent to this point..

BUT, I do think that given the public health attitiude in Asia just now, that TARA 4 could be affected. And it may be being shot later, and we still don't know what can happen to the flu virus this fall. It could mutate and be a real problem or disappear like so many before.

The "West" is not ignoring this, as I know from my CDC friends. But so far this has been less of as problem than a normal flu season, the virus is responsive to antiviral therapies, so no. There is no panic is all. Concer yes, but not panic, like we are seeing elsewhere.

And I TOTALLY agree abiut Africa! :jumpy: :jumpy:

With the spread of flu and various countries taking precautions such as China, Japan and other known to be places, I'm expecting to see more legs in Africa, less legs in Europe (maybe the Baltic states of Latvia and Estonia might be a good place now?), a stop in the Middle East (UAE or Qatar perhaps??) maybe a triple leg in India, going to South East Asia (probably Indonesia now??)

Hopefully, the declaration of the pandemic does not affect our race course...  :(

with the way the flu is spreading, and the general reactions of countries and regions here is a very possible race course:
Leg 1: U.S.A. to Paraguay
Leg 2: Paraguay to Brazil
Leg 3: Brazil
Leg 4: Brazil to Mali
Leg 5: Mali
Leg 6: Mali to Denmark
Leg 7: Denmark to Estonia
Leg 8: Estonia to Latvia
Leg 9: Latvia to Qatar
Leg 10: Qatar to Indonesia
Leg 11: Indonesia
Leg 12: Indonesia to Samoa
Leg 13: Samoa to U.S.A.

i could definitely see a lot of South America, Africa (in comparison to recent seasons), Eastern Europe, and Southern Asia

and i could also see them staying as far away from East Asia as possible, as well as Western Europe and the other North American countries as much as possible

i see them going to a lot more new countries, since most of the regulars will be tough to get to with this Swine Flu scare

I could see the race starting in the northeast US (maybe Boston) and then having teams drive into Canada (Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia). Just to change it up and have no flight in the first leg.

Vancouver could be a first stop from a starting point anywhere in the lower 48 states or the penultimate leg.

The concept of driving from Boston to anywhere in the Maritime Provinces is a bit of a stretch for me. Do you know how much driving that involves? It takes 2 hours from Boston to Portland Maine. From there your options are 4 days a week (including the ones most likely to be a starting day for an Amazing Race) to take the ferry from Portland to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia for 5.5 hours and then drive a another 4 hours up the coast to Halifax; to drive 6 hours to that huge (NOT) provincial capital of Fredericton, New Brunswick; or to drive 6 hours to St. John, New Brunswick.  It's not impossible but it is quite improbable.

From Boston, it is much more likely that teams would fly to Montreal, Quebec City, or Halifax.

Yeah, its a stretch. But then I thought back to TAR 2, where it seemed like the teams drove across the entire island of New Zealand, or something like that.

Driving across the border from the US into Canada might be a problem since the racers could not show that they were driving either a car that they owned nor a rental car out of the US without the intention of returning same vehicle.  So I would say that traveling by rail or air is a much more likely story.

It would be fun to have a premier with no flights, and have the teams show us their navigation power right off the bat. :whereru:

But I still think the most likely (and permanent) start is an LAX flight to somewhere. :'(

 :waves: Hi All,

I've been scarce for a while, but have tried to pop in and lurk occasionally to keep up with the latest gos. Looking forward to watching another 'round the world' search for TAR sightings. I'm going to be travelling a bit myself over the next few months, and will only have limited internet access, so won't be able to participate in all the detective fun.   :'(

...unless I have the good fortune to have a personal encounter.....camera will be with me at all times just in case....  ;D

Just announced last night....

The Emmy Awards have been moved again. This time back to Sept. 20 to avoid conflict with the MTV Music Video Awards. So the premiere of TAR15 could well be Sept. 27. We shall see.

I'm amazed that all our good RFF detectives scattered here, there, and everywhere around this globe of ours have not picked up even the hint of the start of TAR15.  Not even a small, insignificent whif of something going on.  Was ist los?

If the producers somewhat follow the production schedules of past series than the production should have started taping around June 12.

For TAR14 production started taping near Los Angeles on October 31.  Location work continued until November 21 in Hawaii.  That's three weeks.  Producers then spent 12 weeks from November 22 to February 15 getting the first episode ready for air.

So if the same schedule is followed than location production would run from June 12 to July 5.  Post production for 12 weeks would run from July 5 to September 27 which is our estimated air date.

So where were the teams for TAR15 on June 12 - that's one week ago!!

Have the producers got so good that they have completely hidden the start of TAR15 from our prying eyes?  So was ist los?

If the start is in ten days around July 1 and the teams are on the road for a quicky race once again (three weeks instead of the former four weeks) then location recording will be completed by July 22 which leaves a period of only eight weeks for all the post production to get ready for a September 27 start and prepare intro squences and promos.  That is a pretty tight schedule!  Or perhaps the inaugural telecast won't be until later, some time in October.

Whose word is Puddin waiting for :duno:

GMAN,
There is no law that says a fall Amazing Race must finish before Christmas but this someting I expect. If the AR15 telecast begin Sept. 27, with 11 episodes that means ending Dec. 6.  For 12 episodes (which I think is more likely in spite of all the nay-sayers before AR14), it measn ending Dec. 13. If you wait until Oct. 4, those end dates will be Dec. 13 for 11 epsiodes and Dec. 20 for 12 episodes. I conclude that the probability of an October start is low.

Does a race start aroudn July 1 allow enought time for Sept. 27? Yes, if it can be done in 9.5 weeks after the expected end around July 22. That primarily means editing (which begins on-site before each pit stop is over) and publicity. I think it can be done.

I'm guessing that they might try to start somewhere remote this season. (if not L.A.)
Maybe not even an actual state, but maybe a territory of the U.S.

what if they did something like Death Valley? or the Mojave Desert?

both are remote locations that aren't too too far from a large international airport (Las Vegas)

it could be something similar to TAR 2, where the start was in the middle of the desert (also Las Vegas)

and they're not that far from L.A., so it shouldn't cut too much into the all-important budget

It won't be in Mexico because of swine flu

The most possible location:
Kazakhstan,Mongolia,Mali,Nigeria,Latvia,Moldova,Uzbekistan,Cambodia and Indonesia

But i think the location will be Belgium,Kazakhstan,Cambodia,Moldova

Belgium-The Euro's capital
Kazakhstan-Has been visited in the TAR13
Cambodia-Has been visited in TAR13
Moldova-Have no swine flu
Uzbekistan-It may be a mystery place

This is just me speculating - but if I were producing the show I think I would sequester all of the teams and crew for a week before starting the race because of the h1n1 virus.
At least that way you could be sure that all of the teams are virus free at the beginning of the race. Maybe you could even have a doctor travel with the teams to certify to local authorities that everyone remains free of symptoms and help avoid the risk of being quarantined somewhere.

So if the information that all the teams are at the starting point now is valid - maybe they are being monitored for symptoms before the race actually starts.

Historically summer courses tend to stay within the Northern Hemisphere (TAR 12, TAR 8, TAR 6, TAR 3, TAR 10 to a lesser extent), so I would rule out Oceania (possibly) and Latin America (definitely, especially with H1N1). If we went to Africa, I'd bet on another leg in West Africa (or maybe Ethiopia again).

This is an interesting piece of information which is in the application requirements for TAR15,

Quote  "Teams chosen to participate will be flown from their local airports to unknown destinations somewhere in the world. "

So this could mean that teams for TAR15 are sent individually to a start point outside of the good ole USofA.

At this stage of the game, if I were TPTB I would probably do it for TAR15 just to keep prying eyes like ours away from the staging area.

And it may mean that the race is underway and we just haven't had a clue as to where it started. (:;)

Food for thought :duno:

GMAN,

I think you are reading that literally and it isn't meant to be taken that way. Of course they will go to unknown destinations somewhere in the world. That does not equate to going directly with no U.S. starting point. It is possible that the race will start somewhere else in North America, but the probability of that is not high in my opinion.

GMAN,

I think you are reading that literally and it isn't meant to be taken that way. Of course they will go to unknown destinations somewhere in the world. That does not equate to going directly with no U.S. starting point. It is possible that the race will start somewhere else in North America, but the probability of that is not high in my opinion.

Nevertheless, we shouldn't discard the possibility

an example of past applications with a quick google search, TAR12

The Teams chosen from this group will be flown from their local airports to an unknown destination somewhere in the world, and must be willing to travel to numerous locations around the world lasting approximately 30-40 days starting sometime in or around June – August of 2007.

So I guess they just meant the starting line would be in an unknown place. Even thought it isn't, really.

CAUTION - speculation - speculation - speculation - speculation - speculation - speculation - speculation - speculation - speculation -

They waited until July 7th to start Season 8 (Family Edition) - I guess they were waiting for the kids to finish school.
Is it just coincidence that TAR 8 also premiered on a Sept. 27th - the same date that TAR 15 is scheduled?

Are we about to see Family Edition II ?  :groan:

I highly doubt it, when Season 12 started even later than that.  And I don't think the producers want bad ratings.

......but season 14 the contestants were sitting around LAX for hours borrowing laptops and what not and we did not have 1 report/sighting Gman. And I don't think TPTB have enough $$ to send teams outside the USA to start I still think we are looking at the LA area. Just my opinion .......

It costs $$$$$ to send teams and crews to the first location outside the country, so why not to the start line which would make the first leg shorter and cheaper.

It's getting pretty late for the start now if they are to finish post-production for ep1 by Sept. 27.

Amazing Race 12 started airing Nov 4th only because it was bumped from the initial CBS fall schedule due to some wannabee show that was canceled and then TAR was put back on the charts.

I forget which thread had a post about an interview with Phil Keoghan about TAR15/Cycling for MS, but I remember that Keoghan stated about very interesting new places this season so we could be expecting more than the usual 3-5 new countries that usually occurs for most past seasons.  I hope to see a return to South America, Africa, Middle-East, and new countries/territories in Oceania this season.

Yeah, That would be cool like I said.
But I like to see more Oceania than just Australia and New Zealand.  How come BVM never have the race visit countries/islands like Fiji, Palau, Micronesia, Samoa, Tahiti, Cook Islands, Vanuatu, Saipan, and American Samoa? And if you haven't notice that why on past seasons airports like Macau International and SFO are not used for travel.  In Allstars Leg12, why did the teams fly out of Hong Kong and not Macau and the last legs of seasons2 and 11 why did they fly into Oakland and not SFO!  I don't get it but ARIsrael used Macau International, there are flights out of Macau to China, and other Asian cities.  And from Hawaii they could have flown on United to SFO instead ATA to Oakland.  Sorry but I just wanted to point this out, any way back on topic about the TAR15, the number 1 country I really hope they get to visit is Jordan.  Jordan is travel friendly and has a bunch of places to visit like Wadi Rum and Petra.

We actually had a soccer team from Australia stalked us around the international terminal at LAX and kept asking us to see if they could take a picture of my mom and me. We kept saying no, we can't. Few of them even knew that I'm deaf. We asked one guy to see if we could borrow his laptop and he was like, "Aren't you guys doing Amazing Race?!" and we were like no.  haha. Even, someone yelled, "There's a team from The Amazing Race!" when my mom and I got off the bus and ran inside. My mom was like, "This is NUTS!" I was surprised to see that none of stuff from LAX surfaced on the Internet after I got home from the race. I guess we were pretty good with slipping in and fly out, haha.

About your Macau Question, I have been to Macau airport multiple times and there are barly any flights. They have a couple fights each day for locations in China/Taipei. If one team accidently misses a flight they will be maybe a couple hours behind if they are lucky but maybe even 1 day behind other teams like the Africa to Poland leg in TAR All Stars. So Hong Kong Airport is Much More bigger and they have many flights so if a team misses a designated flight, they can still catch up. :D Hope this helps... (BTW Macau aiport has 8 boarding gates 4 which require busses while Hong Kong has around 50 gate which most of them do not require busses.

Well Today I was having my 2 hour Layover in LAX. I did lots of snooping and asking ticket counters, flight attentends, and security guards....Nothing at all! Well...some Ticket counter people were giving me TAR 14 info saying they saw what i was describing in November...Like that was any help now lol.

But I did get something, This coukd be a lead....Or just someone throwing me off. Someone said they saw Camera crews with People in Pairs going on 2 different flights to Singapore....Idk if that helps any. Let me know if it does!

If there are sufficient flights leaving at that time (2 or 3 in the morning etc.) then I think this is definitely a possibility. It would cut down on initial sightings and it if we don't know exactly when the race began than it does make it harder to look for further sightings of other legs.

Realistically there only needs to be at the most 2 flights leaving within a few hours of each other for this to work - I don't know whether this is a possibility however someone who's more airport savvy would have to check.

I am in the GMan camp on this. It seems likely at this point, that the race has in fact started somewhere and is taking a "run silent, run deep" course.  It is now 11 weeks from the probable television debut of AR15. With editing starting at pit stops, World Race Productions has found ways to shorten the length of the production/editing cycle, but do you really think that they would wait until less than 8 weeks before debut to finish the actual AR15? I don't. I think Bertam van Munster has grown tired of spoiling and devised ways to minimize it. Consider that we knew nothing when AR14 teams went to Siberia. There are other such places around the globe. The key to invisibility is to stay off the major airlines. Maybe World Race Productions is now using a fleet of 2 or 3 jets to move the teams from place to place when air travel is required.

Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I've got a possible casting spoiler. Here's my detective work.

Background: I play poker on a pretty regular basis and am active on a message board. A few months ago former Survivor: China contestant and professional poker pro Jean-Robert Bellande started a thread requesting help for input on who we as a poker community think would be a good casting decision for a reality show. He lists qualifications including it must be two women. Here is a link to that thread:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29/news-views-gossip/casting-2-hot-poker-girls-reality-show-483388/

Now, about three weeks ago word came out that last year's final female remaining in the World Series of Poker main event, Tiffany Michelle, would not return to play the event this year. It's curious because she could get backing for the $10,000 event from any of the major sites. She wrote a statement saying she had a chance to travel and do some acting. Very vague. Here's that thread:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29/news-views-gossip/has-story-tiffany-michelle-wimping-out-wsop-main-event-been-covered-yet-527817/

Finally, this week's podcast on PokerRoad Radio with Norman Chad has rumors of her being on TAR. It's on itunes if you have interest.

Final thoughts: with Jean-Robert having been on Survivor we know there have been cross-casting instances before. This smells pretty strong to me. I'd wager a solid amount Tiffany Michelle is going to be on TAR and that they will leave soon considering the main event just ended yesterday.

Here's Tiffany at one of her finer moments:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8Qay92zE-Q

Just my opinion. Take it for what it's worth. Cheers guys!

cant play and states " I wont be defending my title as last woman standing

Thanks a million Looosekanen  :jam:

That is a very compelling story and she looks like a solid casting target.

Not sure where to put this, but a friend of mine knows someone who is going to be on TAR next season. She and her partner work at a casino in Las Vegas where all of the dealers have big breasts. Apparently the casting folks approached the owners of the casino, but they couldn't do the the show so they directed them to a couple of their employees. That is all I know...

anyone hear the news? Tif d michele is leaving for survivior?

Tiffany Michelle was the girl got17th place in the main event of WSOP last year. Its kind of flaky post, since anyone can make it up. Then again we did have two poker players on a reality tv show.

It can't be for S19, since they're already filming.

Here's a post from her blog at Ultimate Bet:

Well, well, well…
My summer in Vegas is coming to a close. "A CLOSE?!?!" you say! Although we have the Main Event coming up this week I am officially announcing… (no, not my retirement! Sorry haters, you'll be stuck with my finger-french-fry-lickin'-clock-callin'-heel-clickin'-UB-branded-poker-pwning-face for several years to come)… that I won't be defending my title as The Last Woman Standing or giving that darn final table another crack… at least not this year. GASP!!!
It'd have to be something pretty big to deter me from the WSOP Championship Event this year and trust me, IT IS! I can't disclose much right now but I'll be leaving the country to film a project for a month and it conflicts with the Main Event. Se la vie! I figure that poker isn't going anywhere and the WSOP Main Event comes around EVERY SINGLE YEAR. This project and my part are very huge and it's an opportunity is just too good to pass up. At the end of the day, acting and performing have always been my passion, in fact it's how I fell into poker to begin with and I never want to lose sight of that part of my life and career.

http://blog.ultimatebet.com/category/team-ub/tiffany-michelle/

And from her twitter feed, yesterday:

I won't be signing at the Deepstacks booth tomorrow afterall, have an emergency to take care of and am heading back to LA. Bye Vegas!
about 20 hours ago from web

http://twitter.com/tiffnymichelle
It's possible she could be in the running for S20, but that doesn't even start filming for about a month, and she wouldn't be back until mid-September, which sounds like a longer time frame than she's implying. She also implies it's an acting job. Still, possible.

2old4tech:

I am not saying that Coeur d'Alene isn't the start of AR15, but I do consider it unlikely. Here's why:

1. I tried to find a commercial airport near Coeur d'Alene but it doesn't exist (a small general aviation one is all that exists).
2. However, Coeur d'Alene is only 40 miles from Spokane International Airport. Now Spokane is not in the top 100 airports in the U.S. (Boise is 69), but it does have nonstop flights to Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix, and that metropolis of Boise Idaho. With one connection in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver or Chicago teams can get a lot of places across either the Pacific or Atlantic Oceans and even heading south to Central America or north to Canada.
3. However, who would want to do that? No purpose is served by not starting an Amazing Race in a gateway city with direct overseas flights.
4. Canada can be reached quickly by driving north to southeastern British Columbia. It is a long difficult drive to either Calgary or Vancouver where international flights can be obtained.

I applaud your efforts to bring potential AR15 information to the forum. Do not let my remarks above discourage you.

Great Race for Education Hits Streets of IF

IDAHO FALLS - Many were seen running around the streets of Downtown Idaho Falls Friday with backpack and water bottles as part of the 1st Annual Great Race for Education.

The race is similar to the hit show, The Amazing Race, in which teams are sent on a massive scavenger hunt around town.

The event was sponsored by the EITC Foundation with all proceeds going toward supporting the school's foundation scholarship program.

Team owners gathered at the Snake River Landing to track their team members with a GPS tracker.

Organizers say the race got pretty intense.

"They are so competitive.  It's a fun way to have an adult activity that raises money for a good cause but lets you play like a kid as well," said Melissa Bean, with the EITC Foundation.

Prize money for the winners ranged from $750 for 3rd place to $1,500 for 1st Place.

If it's true that TAR15 is beginning filming tommorow (Saturday: its 10:30pm here in Oregon for me) in Los Angeles again, then someone should hang around near LAX Airport to see if a bunch of near-identical cars are driving towards the long-term/economy lots.  It's also good to keep your eyes peeled at Long Beach-Daugherty Field Airport, Burbank-Bop Hope Airport, Santa Ana Airport, and Ontario International Airport just in case they fly out there.  Long Beach has flights to Portland/Seattle if they were heading to Canada first like to Vancouver, BC.  Bop Hope Airport is also the same if they were flying out to Canada via PDX or SEA.  Santa Ana has more flights to Chicago via United/American, Houston or Newark via Continental, Atlanta or Minneapolis via Delta, and same to Vancouver via PDX or SEA.  Ontario is the second biggest airport in the LA metro with service to Houston, Atlanta, Portland, Seattle, and international service to Mexico (Mexico City and Guadalajara).
And just in case to let you know, the proposed film area could be for something else, WRP could mean something to do with the Water Utiliites in the area since its near a river and waterway.
