Not the bio pics at the top of the Survivor page but the ones on the Fantasy page where you pick your team.

I've tried to login with no luck. Any body able to login yet???

And, I think 8 members is the limit per tribe. Rory, is that correct?

Right now there are 395 private tribes, 312 public, it looks like you can just pick one to join and even unjoin if you want. Not sure how to start one yet. If someone does start one, give us the name so we can all join.

It's now on page 21! There's probaly a log jam with everyone joining at the last minute...so if you don't find our tribe on pg 21, click 22 and maybe 23.

When you find it & click the dot, it won't show a black dot. (didn't for me anyway) But in a few seconds, it goes to the page with our tribal list.
rudaaay is on the list now! (finally.)

A couple of random thoughts:

There are no longer bonus categories, as in year's past. For now, you must answer the multiple choice question to receive a weekly "bonus".

Speaking of "weekly", it now seems manditory to reselect your team members each week. I recommend choosing them early in the week, and switching later, closer to episode airing, based on spoilers.

The score on the tribal leaderboard must reflect the average score of all of the RFF tribe members.

There is still no easy way to view one's own team score (except by executing a tedious page-by-page search to find yourself on the leaderboard), so keep your scores high enough to be easy to locate.

Good luck to all RFF players, and let's keep this thread alive.

I didn't write mine down because I figured it would work like last season and I'd keep the same 4 until I traded them. I really can't remember who I picked and haven't had the time to go through all those pages to find out. It will be at least a week before I get a chance to check it out and then the 2nd Ep. will have already aired so who knows haw that will effect things. Oh well, congratulations to our high scorers and if anyone spots spoiler info that could help out the team keep us posted.

I saw were some had posted comments at CBS. I have tried to post there several times and when I hit submit or post a comment nothing happens. :umn: I consider myself to be of at least average intelligence and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong . . . any suggestions!!!

Yes, I agree Rory with all you said. Also, I meant to mention last nite that we must pick a new tribe each week.
In case I want to keep the same team, I'll make sure to jot down who I had the week before. I wasn't sure who my 4th one was for Wk 1!

The only thing I can tell you is to click on tribes then go to Public Tribes and one by one go through each page looking for it. Once you find it all you have to do is click next to it and it automatically puts you in.

Ruday, our CBS score is probably correct. They are most likely averaging scores this season, which is more fair. Last season our scores were based on teams of 8. They took all the scores and added them together and that was your team score. This was fine as long as you had 8 on your team. If you didn't there was no possible way to make the leaderboard.

I love that they show the survivors scores all in one place this season I just wish they'd give us a breakdown on how the points were scored. I guess if they don't tell us "how" they scored the points we can't tell them when they get it wrong ;) That being said the rest of the new format truly sucks. It's nearly impossible to find the tribe you want to join. I haven't been able to find out what my score is without going through over 10,000 scores. Why do they only put 5 scores visible at one time!!! :groan: They list Bonus points in the rules but so far they don't exist. You can see who is on your tribe but not what everyone scores. And unlike everyone else . . . I can't post comments . . . even for the tribe I started . . . that is just soooooo wrong on so many different levels (:;)

How did you find out how many points you scored? When I log in it just has my answers from last week but doesn't show the answers? Is there a trick to this? This is my first time playing. If anyone knows how to do this can you please share? Thanks!

Once you are logged in , be sure you are at Survivor>>Fantasy

That should take you here:

You will have to use the PAGE button (see where it says page 1?) to slowly make your way through the users until you find yourself. This is certainly NOT an easy way to manage things, CBS!

Go to the Tribes page where it lists the tribe members: http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor/fantasy/more_tribes.php?selection=tribes&t=724

Below & left of the tribe list hit the link called "Add a comment".
A comment box opens. Hit Submit and your post should appear.
On the MAIN forum, I think it's a similar format. I'll go ck....

The response from Rep 'hppygolucky' is the last one on the page. It sounds encouraging to me that cbs and this "intercessor" are trying to work out the Fantasy Survivor bugs. hppygolucky sounds like a very concerned person to me & trying hard to help.

I stay logged in all the time, unless cbs logs me out. It hadn't dawned on me that logging in/out would help changes occur!

You will notice there have been some changes this season!!!

Scores for our RFF Team - we are ranked #30 among Public Tribes. Without the bottom 4 that I couldn't find scores for we would be ranked #3

I know how you feel about wasting time at the cbs site. I've spent considerable time there from before Survivor started just searching endlessly for stuff the rules state we're supposed to have and don't (or didn't?) I"m going now to check again.

Also, tried to register another me early in the week, but finally gave up. Is it really worth it? Nope. I'm content to be just Rudaay and let the chips fall where they may!!

Post by: s1 on October 05, 2008, 07:54:26 AM: You are correct Rudaay, at this stage of the game it isn't worth creating another identity to play with :tup: You'd be 2 weeks and 3 episodes behind in scoring so there's no way you could catch up to everyone else. If you join a team with a new entry you'd just drag down their score because you'd be starting out 600-700 points behind the top scorers. CBS isn't scored like FS so to have a chance at winning the whole shabang you have to play from the very beginning, never miss a week of making your picks and have a lot of luck on your side.

Rudaay, did you notice that you're only about 55 pts. from the #1 spot and we've got 7 people in the top 100 :yess: This is a very good start to the season.

I have tried once again to post a comment at CBS for our team and can't. :duno: I don't know what is blocking my effort but we are assuming it is something with the security on my computer. Do you have your Security set on HIGH (in Tools/Internet Opts/Security)?
I keep mine on Medium High. Using another comp might help and it's worth a try. But if it is set on High Security, you'd probably have the same prob.

However, that may not be the prob. Could be a typical CBS site glitch! Have you contacted cbs via 'User Feedback'? The tiny link is at the bottom of each page, which directs you to a form to fill out. No guarantee you'll get an answer. They say "they're not always able to provide a personal response." Yet it might be worth a try if you still can't Send from the Game forum.

Our score is averaged so 521 is probably correct and a pretty good score. To determine our score you add up the scores from all 17 members (should be somewhere around 8,850 pts.) and then divide that total by 17. That's why it hurts a team so bad when anybody quits in the middle of the game and doesn't leave the tribe or forgets to make picks.

Thanks peachy, I appreciate the offer and if I can't post comments from the other computer I'n going to try later today I may take you up on it.

It would be really easy to sabotage a Public Team. I set up our Public Team last minute just to see how many from here were playing. I didn't really have time to check out the setup for the Private Teams this year at the time and didn't know if they were restricted to 8 players as in the past. My thought was to start with a Public Team and see how many players we have that are serious about playing. Then after a couple weeks we'll start several different RFF Private teams so we can take over most of the top spots on the leaderboard. Has anyone checked out how the Private Teams are set up this season? Is there a limit to how many people can join?

Okay, rant over . . . for now . . . I'm sure I'll have another . . . and probably in the near future . . . CBS does seem to have that effect on me as of late (:;)

The score for that tribe is better than our RFF tribe and only because of my score. I looked for the other members and could not find :spy: them in the top 100. Maybe I'll just drop from that tribe and lower its average. :nopoints.

I'm pretty sure they forgot to subtract Sugar's exile island points at least once and I'm not positive but I think it was Paloma they forgot to subtract her voted off points. There is almost as much luck (if not more) goes into winning this as there is spoiling and educated guessing. You've got a great score. Good luck with winning the whole shabang!!!

I keep up with names called, etc. as I watch the show and occasionally rewatch and recount to get a ballpark total for each survivor. A voted out person loses 40 pts. That's a lot of pts. to make up with name calls and if they've sat out a challenge also that's another 12 pts. gone. :umn: I may miss a few name calls during a show but I doubt that I miss enough to make up that many pts. There are times when I can't even get the pts. available to total a survivor's score no matter how much I juggle the numbers. Oh well . . . at least we're doing good in the game even though we're not winning . . . yet :neener:

I can't remember who it was, it was a female, that didn't get penalized for getting voted out and they never corrected that one. Don't give up on winning, I used to "talk" with a CBS winner at another spoiler site. He won a vehicle of some sort, can't remember what season it as now but it was 1-2 before Pearl Islands. Somebody has to win . . . might as well be you . . . or me ;)

:groan: CBS at their finest . . . I haven't found anything to support my theory but here goes. From what I've found it looks like all tribes now contain 10 people. I can only assume it is the first 10 people that joined when the tribe was first started.

peachy, bee . . . I noticed you are no longer listed on the tribe. Try to rejoin, or if you are still listed as on the tribe on your site let me know please. I just went and joined a couple tribes to see what would happen. The ones that I joined that already had 10 people showing now are included in "My Current Tribes" list but I am not 1 of the 10 on the list. Weird :duno:

I have been trying for about 3 weeks or more to start a Private Tribe for us all to join. I have actually got 1 started but haven't been successful in getting anyone invited to join. CBS changed how you join private this year. I can't just give you the tribe name and password and say go join. This year you have to send email invitations to the people you want to join and then they have to follow a link in the email to join. When I send out the invitations I get an error message and a page of code. From what I've read on CBS's forum a lot of people are having the same problem. I've about given up making a Private tribe happen this year. If anyone else starts one and has better luck than I have please send PM's to the people you want to join because you'll need their email address they used to register at CBS. bee, once you started the Private Tribe were you able to invite people? Have people joined? If so how did you invite them? :umn: I don't usually have technical problems with this type stuff and this is beginning to drive ne nuts!!!

A few were on my address book which was easy after you realize the site is asking for your password at your email address. Was also able to invite one that wasn't in my address book but was harder to figure out. Did realize the email addresses are case sensitive.

And notice there is no info on who sent it either...

And peachbb isn't me....I forgot my name from last year (never did find it) :groan: and have no idea if that was it but that isn't me playing this time...I only have tar and spoiled fruits this time... :funny:

The CBS email invites are really bad. They don't tell the tribe name who who started the tribe or anything. The bad part is there is a place on the form you fill out to invite people where you can compose a message to send . . . I did this and then it isn't included in the invitation. :groan: CBS at work again!!!

I saw the peachbb and thought it might be you. I have never heard of a tarpeach . . .

I found the re-register page you got. You may need to try re-registering using the same UN and PW you are presently using if nothing else works. I joined a Private from an email invite this morning and all I did was click on the link and I was in. Is that the address you used when you registered your account at CBS?

The tribe name is very original . . . Reality Fan Forum!!! :neener: so far I'm the only one in it. I sent invites to you, geo1 and ruday this morning (I didn't have anyone else's emails or you would have been invited, I promise :angel:) but so far no one has been able to join. And now when I try to send invites through CBS I just get error messages (:;)

and of course all the peaches are invited to join. I don't have the other's email so if you wouldn't mind forwarding her an invite I'd really appreciate it ;)

I've about got CBS figured out . . . yes, I'm getting a headache . . . but here's how it works to start a new tribe:

before you start make sure you have the email address for everyone you want to invite. And it can't be just any of their email addresses it has to be the one they used when they registered at CBS. If it isn't the site will not let them join. No way around it.

1. type in name of Private tribe
2. submit, then click on invite friends to join
3. either enter your username and password for you email account to use your address book to get the addresses of the people you want to invite (I sent one to myself also just to make sure they had sent) they also give you a box where you can type in addresses of people that you don't already have in your address book.

or

click on skip this step and manually type in everyone's email address that you want to invite separated by a ;

4. enter your message in the message box. I don't know why they have this option, whatever you type will not, I repeat - will not, be included in the invitations

5. submit, enter, whatever word they use, all your addresses.
6. the screen will go back to a page of the fantasy game site and leave you wondering if the invitations sent or not. You don't get a confirmation of any type when you submit them.
7. go to your email and check to see if you got an invitation

That's it. If you start the tribe and come back later to invite people it won't let you. If you forget someone, too bad, nope you can't go back and invite them. and sometimes, sorry peachy, you invite someone and they don't get the invitation even though you sent it to the correct address. I hope everyone else received their invitation and were able to join.

If you don't remember what email you used to register at CBS PM me your CBS username and I think I can find it out for you. I'm off to bed now. Morning is going to come early and it's going to be a loooooonnnnnngggggg day.

All former public tribes that I have created, have been invaded by new players joining, and killing the tribes' average score. Now that cBS has capped the max number of teams for a public tribe at 10, it just takes 10 or more high scoring teams working togther to create a leaderboard take-over.

If you've got a team or two in the top 100, consider joining the newly created RealityFanForum.com, so we can asemble a high scoring group of core players, who are in this (crazy demented) game for the long haul.

Not positive if that is how it works or not but if it is and we can get 10 high scorers signed up before the no shows find us we should do good. If we have more than 1 private or public tribe that does good it just means we'll have more spots at the top of the leaderboard.

Rudaay, don't worry about creating an alter-ego at CBS now. This player would start out 1300-1400 pts. behind everyone else and if they joined a tribe would drag the overall scores down because scores are an average of all the members on the tribe. To do well you have to have scores for every week of the show.

All that finally dawned on me after I spent an hour creating an account for my b/f early this morning. But I'll keep his login info handy for next season. He is NOT a survivor fan...not at all. Seems like most (not all) missed those Sugar points - which BTW are totally inaccurate. I cannot figure out any way to get 89 pts. with the values that are available. If they did 20 pts. for given immunity (listed as 15 pts.) and 12 pts. for crying (which I didn't see, did anyone else???) it could work:

75 names + 20 given immunity +12 crying - 18 exiled = 89 pts.

I just hope the first 10 people that join are the only ones that count. It's amazing how someone with a low score thinks that if they join the #1 team they'll "stay" on a #1 team and never figure out that they're the reason the tribe dropped so far in the standings.

I had Matty on my team also peachy, know what you mean. The only thing that save my score was I had Bob and Marcus also.

I can remember once, maybe twice, in the history of Survivor where this (commumicated with loved ones back home) has happened. Does the inclusion of this scoring possibility foreshadow a future event? No way, not with cBS.

By the way, I would have thought the finding of an immunity idol would have scored something also...but then again, I thought we would be treated for some non-scoring nudity last episode also.

Either it's about 1000 points off, or they've allowed a lot of new teams in, and not added them to the members page.

If you read the comments below each tribe you'll see people making comments that aren't in the list. I would guess most of the not showing are low scorers trying to hang onto our coattail and take a ride to the top. Only problem is there are too many of them and they're draging us down (:;)

But my team was STAYING every week! The same ones stayed intact until after Ep8. That's when they disappeared and yup...I had to choose a new team. So this time I copied my players in a safe place to remember who they were. :tup:

I wish I could give you the 30 pts. I got the question right but I'm sitting at #21 and chances of making it to #1 in the remaining time are pretty slim. I would love to see someone from RFF win it!!!

Many teams, who had originally chosen Marcus, have now been awarded 30 bonus points. I can not say I'm unpleased, but the questions need to be more black and white, with no shades of gray.

aargg...I was going bananas :cmas18 last Thurs trying to answer the bonus questions. Should've read this thread b4 going to Cbs fantasy!! The same things happened to me as Rory. Finally, after navigating around, I saw the warning to choose TWO active players, not four. Everything started working afterwards.
whew. made it JIT. Have no idea where I stand scorewise. It's not good tho. I went down the list trying to find me. Gave up. Takes too darn long waiting waiting waiting for each 5 names to change to the next 5. cbs, have mercy next season. Puhleezz? :cmas4 :cmas5 :cmas11

Susie may have won the final IC but Sugar cried a river - 10 - 12 times X 12 pts. and it really added up. I'm not sure if name calls count from the finale or just from the first 2 hours but either way it was Bob and Sugar.

Sugar 240+ pts.
Bob 210+ pts.
Ken 30+
Matty 90+
Susie 160+

Anybody that picked Matty or Ken will take a major drop!

There are edits made, up to days after, to show individual point scores. This is the finale, and they've closed it early.

Glad to read s1's unofficial point scores, as I wasn't sure that Sugar's score would be that much higher than Matty's and Susie's. I was glad for Bob's win, and for Sugar crying up a river. Gives me a shot to make up 62 points.

I have sent my request to Marden Kane (the company responsible for judging the contest) requesting the winner's names, and will post the list of winners in January when I receive it. How many RFF players realized that there were cash prizes for weeky high scorers?

Thanks to s1 and Peach for their insites during the season :yess: ...there' some skill, and a lotta luck that goes into staying at the top of the leaderboard. Mostly, you must have consistancy over the three-month period. For those who played, and those who didn't but wanted to, consider joining next season.

Reread the rules on cash prizes...It is only for six weeks and does not include the finale. I had 2 first and 1 second right before cash prizes started. :cmas4 Oh well will buy myself a Christmas present anyways. :mas25
