I don't doubt that it's Madagascar, I'm just having trouble connecting it with cow lips. Google is no help; the only reference I could find was this NYT article:
Cow lips, which sell for 58 cents a pound, for the most part are shipped to Mexico, where they are shredded, spiced, grilled and used for taco filling.

We have had three TBC double legs they have occured in the 6th, 7th and 9th season.
In the 6th it was leg 6 amd 7 that were one leg.
In Season 7 it was 8 and 9 that were one leg.
In season 9 it was 3 and 4 that was the double leg.

Actually, I have never seen David eat cow lips. He is a very picky eater. That is why Mary ate the fish eyes in China. She had previously agreed to do the eating tasks and David Jr. to do the physical ones. Mary ate the fish eyes even though she absolutely can't stand fish. Never has liked it never will like it. :woohoo: Go Team Wildcat!

I think James and Tyler are first to the Intersection. In the preview, you see the Backpack all having to deal with deciding who will work with the BQs but not Tyler and James. My theory is that the marker for the team that another team has to work with is in a random clue, the BQs pick it, the Backpack come up behind them and one of those teams has to work with them.

Because how bad would that suck to be there first and ahving to wait god knows how long for a team.
Imagine if its random your hte first team and you have to wait for whoever was in last.
That would suck. And I would bitch, bitch, bitch over it.
I would think if not at a bunching, then a serious bunching point better be right after it.

Boy being able to switch cars is new, I think.
Unless Don and Mary Jean only got into trouble because they took a car that had someone else's belongings in it.
And that's damn funny theat Bama is stuck with BQ damaged car.
At yeah it undehanded that BQ the first team to leave would be able to take their own car but took someone else's (I wonder if its either Rob and Kim's or Tyler and James) will go back and check colors later tonight when I rewatch the episode.

Cars in last leg.
Kandice and Dustin have a green ish colored vehicle with a nice noticable dent-They take a differnt one
Tyler & James had a red car and take a red car, but I think it must ave been Bama's.
Bama had a red car end up with Dustin & Kandice's dented green.
Rob & Kim replacement Silver (or silver blue) they get ?
David and Mary start with a Silver (Blueish silver, end up with ?
Erwin and Godwin start with the greenish colored car, end up with ?
Waiting for more promos. Are more sleep for better eyesight.

We've seen some form of the Intersection before, remember the Viking ships in Sweden?
Since this is in the middle of a leg, I suppose the way teams pair up would be in the order they arrive, barring alliance moves. We can safely say that Rob/Kim and Tyler/James arrive 1st/2nd (doesn't matter which since working as a team means they'd depart in joint 1st anyway), Dustin/Kandice arrive 3rd and are thus forced to work with the 'six', and of course the Back Pack pull up the rear.
And no way Dustin/Kandice and Erwin/Godwin are going to lose to David/Mary and Lyn/Karlyn. If the Chos are still on the whole alliance thing and are devious enough, they can always wait for the rest of their alliance two steps from task completion and hold up Dustin/Kandice!

puddin--I changed my mind...I'll bet that is after D/M are eliminated (don't the CHO's look sad?) but taken wherever the pitstop is...That pink brick in combo with blue doors seems fairly typical for 'Tana...It is probably up on the hill cause I'm guessing the foam task was in the marketplace. Wish I could find a map of the city!

I think I found the site of the Intersection clue box (compare to where Tyler is reading the clue). There seems to be a path across the lake (Lac Anosy) that leads to the monument.

if you go to my post above about the Intersection clue box--and then click on sur la digue--it will take you to that exact spot where Tyler and James are standing with the Hilton in the background!! You can rotate the picture around 180 degrees-- puddin-maybe you can put this one up too?? Thanks--I am trying to learn how to do it myself!!

The picture of the BQs with the FF clue at the Intersection cements the fact that the FF is after the Intersection. Logically, the Intersection needs an even number of teams (for pairs), so the FF would have to be after the Intersection. The FF and Intersection create interesting strategy as 2 teams will always finish the Intersection task at the same time ... possible head-to-head competition for the FF. :umn:
Pit stop thoughts - the 30 minute penalty finally determines Kentucky's fate. They likely arrive at the mat with some or all of the Back Pack and are forced out of the race.

I like the idea of charter flights, probably 2, with the first teams to arrive getting the first flights. Flight 1 would be BQs, models and Rob/girl friend. Flight 2 is Back Pack. I will speculate 30 minutes between charter flights. This means the BQs will wait about 30 minutes for Back Pack to arrive at the Intersection.

I have never seen stunts in real life. But this was so awsome. In other shoots he jumps the car as it was coming up the driveway at about 20 mph. He hangs on until it turns right. He rolls off onto the ground. Car's going 30 by then. I could not believe it.
In this shoot they are doing it all slow for the close up.

Added conflict! :meow: While completing a task with another team, the cooperating teams make quickly become adversaries as they compete for the FF.

Thanks Slowhatch! I had gone looking there too--but I think that on Tuesdays the only MRU-TNR flight is the 11:30 one, at least that I could find--schedule seems to vary by the day. And that seems a bit late per Chateau's great shadow analysis...
What about the getting out of Dodge flights? TNR via where to Helsinki?

Hmmm...do we know for sure what day they left Mauritius? I think they arrived Mauritius June 12--so did they leave on the 13th or the 14th? If they had a 36 hour pitstop in Madagascar instead of Mauritius they could do the late night flight via Paris--I know they have to be on the train in Finland on June 16th so I've been assuming they arrive on the 15th in Helsinki...

This is the view from the Hilton. I have a better pic but it's in a format that I can't convert for some reason. I found a building with the excact same color blue door but the windows don't match. Maybe there was a "blue light special" on paint in the area. :groan:

So far in the Race (with on exception) thay have had the serious food cahllenges at the last part of hte race.
S1; Osterich Egg literally meters before hte pit Stop.
S4: Ocopus one of the detours before hte Pitstop
Season 5: The Cavier The Roadblock before the Pitstop
Season 5: Ostrich Egg The Roadblock before the Pitstop
Season 6: The Spicy Soup. The Roadblock before the Pitstop
Season 7: 4lbs of meat. The Roadblock before the PitStop
Season 9: Eating crickets. Teh Fast Forward taking you directly to the PitStop
The only time it hasn't been right before the Pitstop (and it kind of was in its own special way) was in the first episode of htis season. When it was the first task. But it was right before an elimination point.
So I am guessing travel to new country.
Due Intersection. Open clue, which offers the last Fast Forward of the race, tehn teams must go to a roadblock (and have no real detour) or due both with the roadblock being thelast tasks before arrival at the Pit STop.
Since we see Erwin and Godwin in the clothes of Mary & David, I assume that Mary and David only gave them that while they waited for their penalty to finish (with a small number of exceptins teams aren't allwed contact with eliminated teams. Unless their is a penalty involved or a close finish where the two teams are right on top of each other (season 7 had three of those).
And once eliminated you are supposed to share belongings or money with other teams.
I assume with Mary's comment about David eating cow lips that they managed to get a leg up on some teams here.
I then imagine the race to the mat between teams is one of these two combinations. D&K versus Ly and Karlyn (which I think likely) because if it was D&K versus the Cho's they wouldn't have enough time in my opinion to give the Cho's their clothes if they were just moments in front of D&K.
That of course if the race to the mat is the last bunch to the mat (and not just a random race to the mat sometime with any of the 6 teams.
I would also guess though waiting on visual clues that its Rob and Kimberly or Tyler and James who compete for the fast forward. They are the only teams that are friends (and not part of hte sixpack) that have worked together. And would really be the first tiem they have had to compete directly for one thing.

Working backwards from the Hilton, I'm guessing the confessionals are in the Andohalo area (does everything start with an- or am- ? :hlol). Compare the hill behind R/K and the BQ Anosy viewpoint (source page (http://alexandre.picard1.free.fr/tana.htm)). The cathedral, maybe?

Mahatazana means nice view. Our guests, as well as the guide book author Wolfgang Därr (Reise Know How) are impressed by the "great view" on Antananarivo with its palace.
The hotel is in the West of Antananarivo on a hill (about. 1300m above sealevel) in
a rural, quiet area, just about 7 km from town centre.

Maybe the intersection is really a detour that you must do with a paired team. J/T and R/K chose the eating one and all the others chose the mattress one. Just a guess. Yeah, It is interesting, if htis is a fast Forward then the two teams apparently both must complete the tasks to recieve the clue. It would then be a race from that location to the Pit Stop.
I just can't see it being a Detour type choice.
Why would any team pick a eating detour?

I mean hell, Kimberly's afraid of diseases from Water.
I would assume everyone has watch the show before. And no one would willing pick a food detour, over a task like carrying matresses.
SO in my mind it has to be Fast Forward. And even that can be too difficult for some.
Imagine last season if BJ & Tyler and Ray and Yolanda had to finish that before moving forward. I think they would still be there.
And if Its a Fast Forward, I wonder if tey will allow a team to check in at the same time (if in first) and both get a prize. They have done it before, and they have also notdone it before (in fact in season 4 three teams tied for first at got the prize in the first leg, but in leg 8 or 9. Reichen and Jim & Jon and Al stepped on together and Jon and Al got the prize.
I will admit, I am really curious aboutt his leg.
Just thinking if they don't do it, and have to go back, purhaps the reason David and Mary have time to give clothes to Bama and CHo's is them waiting out the 30 minutes while these two teams check in.

I think that settles it that the cow lips are the FF task. J/T wouldn't have the FF clue open otherwise. He is holding the clue, not the envelope because of the white border around it.

For some reason I think since they are competing for the FF as a "joined team" per the instructions (all 4 members of the joined team must eat a serving), then they should be handed a clue to go straight to the pitstop when finished. Unless the clue states that they now dismember the joined team then they will remain one team until they check in.

My sister asked her a question, but the line started moving and I didnt hear what she said, but heard Mary mention "the Bama girls." Not sure what she was talking about.
So me thinks we're about to see David and Mary on the Early Show Monday morning....too bad, I really liked them "

If you can figure out what day they leave Tana, Georgia, Amadeus (http://www.amadeus.net/home/index.htm) can help; it doesn't have an archive function, but it lists flights TNR-HEL for an entire week and lists the flight frequency in the right column ("Sunday only"/"Daily except"/etc.).

I'm confused about something. You say that the pic of Dustin & Kandaces confessional was about 4:00 - 4:20 pm.
YET, you have here saying that Rob & Kims is about the same time. ???
My question: If Rob & Kim do the FF with Tyler & James, then wouldn't it be true that D&K would arrive quite a bit later? I mean, that's what the FF is all about to begin with right (or at least the team would hope to get there alot sooner).
One more thing: do you have a lineup on who gets to the pitstop in which place (approx)?

Damn if those times are close to accurate. Then eitehr Dustin and Kandice had a hard time wth the edited out roadblock, or they got lost somewhere between theroadblock and the Pit Stop.
They should be based on the detour about 30 minutes ahead of Rob and Kimberly and a little more tehn that ahead of Tyler & James.
And we can see how much time Erwin & Godwin have bleed in this episode by taying with the sixpack. Yikes.
And thats with the three lead teams having some lost time.
D&K lost some time with car accident.
Tyler & James lost about 15 minutes waiting so long for map and a little more later for being lost.
Rob & Kimberly lost time having to wait for a replacement car and getting lost twice.
So Yikes.....
I guess will find out in a few hours how accurate those are.

I actually want them on the mat together at the same time and in first.
Basically becasue I am mean. And it might prove a point.
There have been two different alliances on this season. THE Back Pack (originally consistenting of 5 teams and getting smaller) who often work together and wait for each other.
And the alliances of Rob and Kimberly and Tyler & James which is they work to get to the main city together and the when the tasks start each its team for themselves (though if they are naturally near each other they will follow one another).
This is the type of alliance that is often been used in the race.
And after hearing about the backpack and the sixpack since episode 2 and with them generally not placing well (the Cho's did come in first once, and David & Mary managed the Fast Forward to win a leg), but generally they have had the other teams dirt in their face for the entire season.
I would love to see Tyler & James and Rob & Kimberly come in tied for first tonight.

I don't think its an inside joke. I think its that Tyler swim better thenn James.
And its getting clear that James feels he isn't pulling his own weight.
Even his comment in this week's episode when he finished first, was finally something I am good at in this damn race.
I think even though they don't get riled up easily and are both very laid back that James is really disappointed with his performance overall, not just directions.
So of course in the preview for next week it is of course James who is stuck in the mud.
