Thoughts about last night and I won't comment on all:
Paris - she's good and I'd like to see her go far. However, I miss the style she sang at her audition. Would like to see more. Also, did not like her outfit and too much "bling". Necklace, bracelet, earrings, belt, hair clip. Too me it was overstated.
Lisa will go far. 'nuff said
I liked Melissa. The "smoky" sound is so her.
Aylas song bored me. She is a good singer and I think she'll make it in the final 12, but don't believe she'll go far. Again, JMO
Kelly was trying hard...I agree that the nerves are still there, but not as much. She keeps getting better. I liked her song choice, but then again I love that song. It's on my iPod Kelly will make it far
Mandisa...what can I say about her. I love her voice and she has the personality and can sing circles around some others. But I agree w/Randy & Simon: I didn't care for the song choice. Personally I found it boring. Plus I'd love to see her in clothes that reflect her personality which is fun and bright
I agree with singing songs from Mariah, Whitney, etc. You have to REALLY bring it on. I believe Vonzell did just that last season.
One thing that bugs me though is how the judges tell contestants to be themselves. So when they do, the judges tell them it's boring, to go out on a limb. When the contestants go out on a limb, they say to be themselves again (except Vonzell...they liked her going out on a limb). They confuse the contestants as to what should be sung IMO.

no one is standing out for me...except the bad ones....it is easy to pick out the ones who should go home...hmmmmm....seems like it should be the other way around... :groan:
I realize it is early in the competition..and they have a lot to learn...getting over their nerves..finding what works well for them...but come on!!!! give me something good to hear!!!!!
I do like mandisa, lisa and paris... :bliss:...but not blown away yet....
am so hoping that brenna is out of there... :-\
