EP9: 'How's that Face Feel?' Nov. 22

<< < (48/63) > >>

kraziladi:
Here's a shot of the other bridge behind Daddy Bransen!

Comparing to Sharon G.

Chateau d If:
I think that is a place whee the rock just curves out but the rest is gone.  I marked on the shot below which is part of the zoom in sequence to the eastern face of the eastern bridge.  Wally is in the shot too.

The horseshoe also shows up in the Linz shot taken from the base of the canyon.

supsandalee:
I now understand the difference between the eastern/western bridge as well the eastern/western side of those. I'll try to make a case that G's are going down the same route as the others.

In the overhead shot of eastern bridge you see (in the video) 4 red pads where the ropes are anchored. They are very close to the edge of the western side of the bridge and the ropes run along the ground towards the eastern side. They couldn't rappel down the western side of the eastern bridge because of the anchor locations.

Chris G. (yellow shirt/tan shorts) is going down the same way of the others.

Only Sharon G's shot looks different (yellow shirt/red shorts). Sharons shot is from a camera on the western side of the western bridge looking through to her???

Hope I explained it well.  :yaya:

EDIT: This may be a little more evidence. From the episode detailed description we have this:

Your rigger will then lead you to the first available line.
One team per line. Only one team member will be allowed on a line at a time.

If there is only one team per line and there are 4 anchor pads (lines) on the eastern bridge that must be the only spot for rappel.

Chateau d If:
Okay, I think you are right.  The three teams go down the same line.  The rock feature I was making conclusions from may be too low to show up in the Linz and Wally shots.  The head camera on the G sister show some rock details that appear in Wally's shot.  So what does this mean?

The G's climb down before 1:00 pm just like the Linzes.

Interestingly enough, the through the bridge shot of a G sister show some light on the western face of that bridge as well as the light shining on the G who is on the eastern side.  This indicates that the shot was taken really close to 1:00 pm whereas the Linz shot is before 1:00 pm.

I hope this is the last time I have to juggle these times.  And of course they will all turn out to be wrong because I still wonder how they are going to cover all the miles in 5 hours.
