Previously on THE AMAZING RACE

Nine families left Lancaster for DC, but along the way the Gaghans struggled, Paolos argued and Rogers drove in the wrong direction. Then Brock got blamed for his father's mistake. At the Detour, a Civil War battle. Wally Bransen faltered; the father and sons in law of Aiellos were in awe of the battle. In the end, it was the widowed mom and kids, Weavers, who took the lead. The Rogers never caught up and were eliminated.

Eight families remain. Who will be eliminated next?

Can the Bransens overcome Wally's lack of physical endurance?

Can Linda Weaver maintain her newfound leadership?

Weaver, 2:26 am, CLUE: Fly to Charleston, SC
Phil: Fly five hundred miles, choose a car, drive to the Battery. In the Gazebo, the next clue.

Linz, 2:27 am.
Megan conf: I get frustrated when the guys don't listen to me!
A chauffer driven limo shuttles them to Dulles.

Godlewski, 2:29 am.
Schroeder, 2:35 am.
Aiello, 2:37 am.
Bransen, 2:38 am.

Gaghan kids, clowning at the start, 2:43 am.
Conf, Mom: I raised our kids like little adults, not children who are going to hold us back.

Bransen kids take the cell phone from the chauffeur; the Gaghans do likewise. The Linz also.

Paolo, 3:05 am.

Weaver tells driver: You missed the exit! Go reverse! Nobody will see!

Linz cracking up seeing Weaver's driver pass the exit.

Airport ... Flight is 8:15, arrives 10:04 am
Weaver, American
Linz, early flight
Schroeder, early flight
Oops, they run out of seats right before the Godlewskis.

Next flight, Godlewski, Weaver ...
Mom Weaver doesn't understand flying and is asking the ticket agent.
Another team doesn't trust what they're doing.
Mom Weaver gets tickets on the first flight.
Aiellos get the later flight and are pissed that Weavers got the early flight.

United, arrives 10:38, still available to teams.
Mom Weaver: 30 minutes later is no big deal.

Oooh! The Airport Gossip ain't just for Colin and Charla anymore!
Bitch!

Independence air lands on time.

Off they go to the Battery: Linz, Weaver, Schroeder, Aiello.

Schroder calls Weaver "Team Fruit Loop."

Teams drive up to the Gazebo.

Schroeder, CLUE: DETOUR.
Forrest Gump, or Muddy Waters?
Phil: Gump, drive 7 miles to a seafood company. Hop on a shrimp boat, de-head 200 pounds of shrimp.
Waters, drive to Bridgeville, drive through a 400 foot mudbog. Drive one complete course before driving to the next clue in a monster vehicle.

Second flight arrives, Gaghan, Bransen

Third flight arrives with (I believe) everyone else.


Aiello, Godlewski 4th and 5th.

Opting for de-heading, Schroeder.
Dad: We have a whole 'nuther crate after this.
Kid: Omigod!

Megan saw an arrow!
They're following on faith! There's the shrimper!
Good work, Meg!
Meg: Thank you!

Godlewski, shrimp.
Aiello opt for mudbog.
Mom Weaver has the girls get out and push.
Mom: We're stuck! Dang it!

Dad Aiello congratulates the kids as they pass the Weavers.
Kid: Almost there!
Other kid: Don't get stuck no!
Oops, they're stuck.
Kid: We were goin' great guns, though.
Dad: Ugh.

Bransens start shrimping.
Paolos reach the gazebo in last.
Mom: Cut heads awf! I'll do it wit my fingaz!
