Rupert to Race?

SURVIVOR FAVOURITE MIGHT FOLLOW BOSTON ROB'S LEAD

By BILL BRIOUX, TORONTO SUN

NEWS 'N' NOTES from another wacky week in the world of television: KING OF REALITY TV: Soaring ratings on The Amazing Race -- the No. 1 show in Canada -- can be traced to one person: Rob Mariano. Love him or hate him, Survivor's ever-quotable Rob-father and his million-dollar-fiancee, Amber Brkich, have stolen this show.

The lift could lead to more stunt casting on the series. Next fall's Amazing Race 8 is already a family affair, with four person teams made up entirely of relatives in the hunt. Don't be surprised if Survivor favorite Rupert Boneham, along with his wife, daughter and foster child, aren't part of the next race.
THE ROMBER FACTOR: Rob and Amber won Tuesday's leg of The Amazing Race, adding a trip to London to their already stuffed reality loot bag. Three consecutive eighth place finishes finally caught up with Susan and Patrick Vaughn, the mother and son team who were eliminated. Seven teams remain, with a special two-hour race set for Tuesday.

AMAZING RATINGS: Last week (March 14-20), The Amazing Race scored 3,043,000 viewers across Canada on CTV. American Idol took the No. 2 and 3 spots with Global's Survivor: Palau down to No. 4 with 2,821,000 viewers. Rounding out the Top-5 was CTV's CSI with 2,268,000 (all figures BBM Canada).

Surprisingly strong rookie Medium was No. 6 with 1,955,000 viewers. A rerun of Desperate Housewives (a new episode finally airs this Sunday) was way down to No. 19 nationally with 1,271,000, edging Global's once mighty The Apprentice in the No. 20 spot (1,258,000 viewers). Amazing Race was also No. 1 in Toronto last week with 743,000 viewers, well ahead of the Idols and Survivor.

There's no way his daughter would have grown four years since All-Stars to be part of this race. If he does he'll definetely win because he doesn't have to carry anything. We all know that all he owns is that tyedyed shirt and that skirt that he made for himself. I never did get why people liked Rupert....

I forgot about Rupert's daughter being too young to be on TAR.  Think the age must be 12, right?

Well, I like Rupert's tie/dyed shirt "trademark"...and the skirt ain't too bad either! LOL  ]#*

Rupert will be better respected than Rob, but probably they will hate the fact that Rupert already won a Million.  They may resent him only for that! ?

one thing that will be interesting if he does get on the show...alot of the contestants on his show and the All stars did not have good things to say about Rupert.  Said he was very hot tempered and a big baby if you did not do things his way.  He got great editings....so it  would be interesting to see.

I'm not sure if Rupert is intelligent enough to compete on the Amazing Race.  I mean here's a guy who decided dig underground to build himself shelter when he was thirty feet away from an ocean and well within high tide striking range.
"Gin is a morose widow. Tequila is the supple mistress with the cojones to attend the funeral. Pour me some mistress."

From Rupert's publicist, after being asked about a charity event:

"Due to traveling out of the country for some time starting this summer, Rupert will be unavailable for any charity event throughout the rest of the year."

Just a coincidence? We'll find out soon enough.

I am sure Rupert will be very entertaining and could do the detours and roadblocks.  I am sure he would have easily ate all 4 pounds of that disgusting meat.  We will just have to wait and see. ]-{

Gooo Ruppie...tie-dyed shirt, skirt and all!!  Well maybe not the skirt this time! *(^  I think he'll be very entertaining, but kinda doubt he'll win.  I'll sure be rooting for him tho! (^.#

Where was I reading (here i think)...someone suggested Rudy & Rupert on a regularTAR?  I doubt it would work cuz Rudy would be too slow for Ruppie.  Gosh, it's hard to believe Rudy will turn 77 this year!! Oh my dear Rudy, I love you to pieces!  ]*[

I think Rupert would do a great job.  I am not sure about having an 8 year old though.  Some of the stuff that they would have to do would take it's toll on a kid.  I am sure that they would lighten up the tasks, but still.  Are they going to make tasks easier for the team with the youngest members on them?
