The Amazing Race - Rob and Amber ruffle more feathers with a win

Luck, persuasion and her future hubby's horse-riding skills carried Amber Brkich to another first-place finish in CBS's "The Amazing Race."
By finishing the fourth leg of the worldwide race ahead of seven other teams, Brkich and fiance Rob Mariano won a free trip to London. Two weeks ago, another first-place finish earned the duo a trip to the Bahamas.
"That's two trips down, two first places down, and more to come," Brkich confidently said, as the Brighton Township native and her Boston beau moved closer to "The Amazing Race's" $1 million grand prize.
They overcame some obstacles in Tuesday's episode.
At one point, Brkich and Mariano seemed hopelessly lost on a lonesome Argentina highway, but somehow the couple ended up promptly at the proper destination - a horse ranch.
Pleasantly surprised by their luck, Brkich commented, "Somebody's watching over us, that's for sure."
After acing a horse riding challenge, Mariano convinced an airport gate worker to let him and Brkich board an early flight to Buenos Aires. With the airplane on the runway just moments away from taking off, Brkich and Mariano's unexpected arrival on the jet angered four other teams who had thought they finally had ditched the "Survivor" sweeties.
"No freakin' way ... that's horse crap," said the team of California brothers Brian and Greg, disgusted by how Brkich and Mariano weaseled their way onto the plane.
"I hate them. I hate them so much," added Alex, who along with his boyfriend, Lynn, repeatedly have voiced their animosity toward Brkich and Mariano.
"They're kind of like an STD," Lynn said about Brkich and Mariano. "You've got to protect yourself from them. ... I detest them."
But Mariano made a new friend in Argentina, a motorboat driver named Carlos who helped the couple complete a challenge where they had to find a shipwreck. Mariano showed his gratitude by giving away his favorite fashion statement - a Boston Red Sox ballcap - to the Argentinian man.
Mariano and Brkich felt fortunate to have reached the shipwreck after the rough waters threatened to disable their boat.
"I tell you, we just keep getting lucky," Mariano said.
They were much luckier than the mother-son combo of Susan and Patrick, who reached the finish line last, and were eliminated from the contest. Patrick also had been highly critical of Mariano and Brkich.
