ELEVEN TEAMS BEGIN THEIR RACE AROUND THE WORLD WHEN THE EMMY AWARD-WINNING REALITY SERIES "THE AMAZING RACE 7" DEBUTS WITH A SPECIAL 2-HOUR BROADCAST, TUESDAY, MARCH 1 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK
"Courteous? This is a race!" -- Eleven couples will compete in a race around the world with one couple taking home the $1 million prize when THE AMAZING RACE 7, the two-time Emmy Award-winning reality series, premieres with a special two-hour broadcast, Tuesday, March 1 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Phil Keoghan is the host of the series.
The race starts in picturesque Long Beach, California and quickly takes the teams to Lima, Peru where, upon landing, they have to take a bus to their next clue. One team is fluent in Spanish and immediately leads several teams to the right bus. Choosing between a detour of leading llamas or carrying heavy baskets into town, one team chooses to lead two especially disagreeable llamas and spends much of the task dodging showers of spit. Another team decides to carry the heavy baskets, but one of them nearly passes-out from exhaustion caused by the high altitude.
---Show Summary---
Our new season opens with The Philiminator standing proudly on the deck of the Queen Mary in the port of Long Beach, California. The teams arrive at the port (not the ship, only Phil gets to be that cool) via three helicopters. In order:
Debbie/Bianca : "We're silly, silly, silly. Not girly girls."
Harry's note: Hotness.
Lynn/Alex (Team Gaeness): Lynn: "Alex and I have pretty sharp claws." Alex: "But we only use them if you tick us off." Lynn: "I don't want to break a nail."
Harry's note: These guys make Coby from Survivor: Palau look absolutely butch by comparison.
Romber: "We both have a competitive edge, but even on top of that we have a profound friendship turned into love. We've gone through Survivor. Any problem that's going to arise is not going to be a problem."
Ryan/Chuck (Team Hillbilly): "Two old fat fellas coming from the hills of SC. Everybody's gonna think we're two old hillbillies til we open up and show them what we're made of."
Harry's note: These guys are just as funny as expected.
Megan/Heidi (Team Barbie): "We're two halves of one whole person. People may underestimate us on the race. WE probably look ditzy to them."
Harry's note: DUH! But still hot.
Susan/Patrick (mom and son): "Mom and I have no problem letting the other teams assume that she's Susie homemaker and I'm little Patrick gay guy." "Patrick and I certainly have a devious side to us."
Merdith/Gretchen (Team Geritol): "Old age and treachery can outperform youth and inexperience."
Ryan/Greg (Brothers): "Biggest thing is that we're brothers. We know each other so well we're not going to waste time arguing."
Uchenna/ Joyce: "Want to win the race to get the money to try to have a baby again."
Ron/Kelly (Team POW/WOW): *yawn*
Ray /Deana:"Ray is a very competitive person."
Harry's note: Ray might be competitive, but Deana is bottled heat.
Okay, the team intros take up a lot of time, but finally we get to the Luggage Race. The teams find their first clue attached to their luggage (as usual). The clue reads:

Fly to Lima, Peru. Once there, travel by bus to Plaza de Armas. Search for your next clue. You may only travel by one of these two flights departing from LAX. United Airlines flight 840, American Airlines flight 252. You have $132 for the race.

After they read their clues they have to run to marked cars and drive to the airport. They all manage just fine except for Romber. Amber: "Honey, open the trunk." Rob: "Yeah, If I knew how."
Fade to normal show intro. The teams, in order of appearance in the show intro:

Back to the Race, the teams drive themselves to the airport.
Team Hillbilly: Chuck (driving): "Drive it like you stole it baby. motorcycles, cars big trucks, tractors, if its got a motor, then I can drive it." Ryan: "Chuck and I's whole goal about this is do it well and to beat everybody."
Everybody else is talking strategy. Rob is talking about spending their money on food (yeah, I'm just as shocked as you are). "I'm starving. This isn't Survivor you know. You can eat over here."
Team Gaeness gets passed. "Oh you bitch. Oh it's the hillbillies." Hillbilles: "There go the happy boys."
On to the airport!
On the American flight: Susan/Patrick, Ron/Kelly, Ryan/Chuck, Debbie/Bianca, Ray/Deana, Megan/Heidi.
On United: Meredith/Gretchen, Romber, Uchenna/Joyce, Lynn/Alex, Brian/Greg.
BTW, Ron (the POW) told Ray at LAX about being a POW in Iraq. He says that he doesn't think he wants anyone else to know, but wanted to tell Ray. That is the ONLY time he mentions it to anyone in this episode. Back to the Race.
Once they arrive in Lima, have to travel by bus to Plaza De Armas to find their next clue. An hour and 25 minutes separates their flights (American lands first). Upon the arrival of the American flight, Debbie and Bianca (Spanish speakers) ask "Is this the place to get the bus to Plaza de Las Armas?" The Hillbillies speak ****ing Portugese, and also ask for directions. I know, who woulda thought they speak Portugese? Anyway, the American group reaches the cluebox first.

Travel by bus 30 miles to the city of Ancon and proceed to Playa Hermosa. Teams must search sandpiles for a set of airlines tickets to their next destination, Cusco, Peru. Three departure times are available: 6 a.m., 7 a.m. and 7:40 a.m. Once a team claims a set of tickets at Playa Hermosa, they may not search another pile.

At this point, Bianca and Debbie and Susan and Patrick form an alliance. They hope the alliance lasts throughout the race. They separate from the others. Find the bus. First bus to Ancon.
Now flight #2 (United) arrives. Rob and Amber meet some guy in customs. He recognized them from Survivor (this will probably happen again). Guy offers to help them out. They separate from the group and get on a small (short?) bus. The rest of the United group eventually make their way to a larger bus, and head out.
Back to the lead bus, Patrick says to Debbie and Bianca (referring to Rob): "I've watched Survivor. He's really dumb as a rock." Very perceptive, our little Twinkletoes.
On to Playa Hermosa! Debbie/Bianca find the first set of tickets, for the 6 a.m. flight.

Teams/Flights
6 a.m.: Debbie/Bianca, Susan/Patrick, Romber
7 a.m.: Ray/Deana, Brian/Greg, Lynn/Alex, Uchenna/Joyce
7:40 a.m.: Megan/Heidi, Chuck/Ryan, Ron/Kelly, Meredith/Gretchen
They all spend the night on the beach around a big bonfire. Rahb: "We were all around the campfire and I thought we were back on Survivor. I was worried everyone was plotting to kick me out." Harry's note: You could play a helluva drinking game based on shotgunning a beer every time Rob/Amber mention Survivor. Prepare to get ****faced.
The next morning, at the airport, the 6 a.m. flight gets off without a problem, but the 7 a.m. flight has technical difficulties. All of the 7 a.m. teams are transferred to the 7:40 flight.
The next clubox is located in the destination airport. Clue (Phil):

Teams must make their way by the marked taxi to the town of Huambutio, Peru, where they must find this (picture of kiosk) kiosk. The owner will hand them their next clue.

Travel by taxi across the bridge and get to the top of the gorge. Then descend more than 1400 feet to the bottom.

Teams must now make their way 2 miles by taxi and find their way to the top of the gorge. When they arrive, they will take a zipline to the other side of the gorge and then take a second zipline to get to the bottom. When they land, they'll open their next clue.

Note, this is not a Roadblock. Both team members have to ride the ziplines. But, at the bottom...
It's Detour time!
Rope a Llama or Rope a Basket

Rope a Llama: Each team must rope two llamas and take them to one of the pens. When the delivery is complete, the herder will give them their next clue. Roping the llamas doesn't require strength but getting them to cooperate and getting them to walk to the pens could be frustrating and take a long time.
Rope a Basket: use a rope to tie one of the baskets to their back (each team member). And then carry the basket, filled with 35 pounds of alfalfa 2/3rd of a mile to a store to receive their next clue. Carrying the heavy basket requires strength. But teams with endurance, could finish quickly.

Debbie and Bianca start out with the llamas, but quickly change their minds and switch to the baskets. Susan and Patrick stick with the llamas, resulting in an incestuous bukkake scene. Romber take the Basket route and finish first, followed by Susan/Patrick and Debbie/Bianca. The other teams (way behind at this point) perform the Detour as follows:
Greg/Brian : Baskets
Lynn/Alex : Baskets
Team Geritol : Llamas
Ray/Deana : Baskets (Deana is exhausted, Ray yells at her.)
Uchenna/Joyce : Llamas
Ryan/Chuck : Llamas (good line when they get on the zipline. Ryan: "We're gonna be the first ones to load test it.")

Megan/Heidi : Baskets

Teams must now find the Huambatio police station. Once there they will take a delivery truck nearly 20 miles to the town of Pisac. Trucks will depart every 20 minutes. Once in Pisac, teams will have to search the marketplace to find their next clue.

Patrick and his mommy get on a delivery truck with Romber. Patrick: "We have every intention of aligning with Rob and Amber, only to set the trap, because we would love to be personally responsible for their disposal from this race."
At this point, there is a HUGE gap between the front three teams (Romber, Susan/Patrick, Debbie/Bianca) and the remainder of the pack. The next clue reads:

Romber gets stuck in traffic, while Debbie and Bianca have found where they need to go on a map and tell their driver how to get there. Smart girls, they'll be tough to beat.

Debbie & Bianca =Very boring Bio Their primary motivation for participating in the Race is to travel the world with each other and put their combined traveling skills to the test. ( this was before I watched there video)
Megan & Heidi What can I say..Its a female team
Heidi describes herself as athletic, playful and feisty . Megan grew up all around California before settling in Los Angeles. She works as a fashion designer and enjoys drawing, sewing and painting. Megan has never traveled outside the United States and has an extreme phobia of flying.

Am I the only person who hopes things don't work out this way? The one thing I hate most about Survivor spoiling, is the Snewsers of the world. Why spend all week spoiling? Why not just wait until Snewser makes his pick?
If things work out the way Harold says they will, then we have wasted all our efforts so far! And there is something to be said for watching a show, spoiling it the best you can, but still not knowing for sure until you see it play out! |(
