Phil: This is Corsica, in the heart of the Mediterranean. Overlook known as the La Pietra was the 7th pitstop in a race around the world. Hayden/Aaron not eliminated; the 2nd of 3 pre-determined non-elim spots.
Will Hayden/Aaron rebound?
Rebecca/Adam, 12:12 am.
CLUE: Travel by ferry to Nice.
Phil: In Nice, they'll find this bust of WWI hero Albert (the first?) for their next clue.
Freddy/Kendra, 2:03 am.
Freddy conf: Our team chemistry is doing great!!
Lori/Bolo, 2:13 am.
He calls it NICE as in "wow, that's NICE."
Kris/Jon next ...
Jonathan/Victoria 2:18 am.
Arguing about which ferry leads when and where ...
Hayden/Aaron 2:51 am.
Other teams got $151 for this leg of the race ... neener, neener!!
Ferry leaves in the morning.
Hayden/Aaron go off to beg.
Hayden: You speak English? We're in a (pumps arms in circular motion) race!!
They get their money, little by little.
Corsica Ferries ... departure time is 11:30 am.
Hayden: Begging is not fun!!
The ferry loads.
Hayden/Aaron get tickets just in time.
Nice, France.
Jonathan heads for the taxis.
Freddy heads for the subway/train.
Jonathan, CLUE: Fly to the city of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Phil: They'll sign up for one of two charter flights to Labibella, a small town in Ethiopia's highlands.
Rebecca: It's gonna be really hard. It's hot, sad, impoverished ...
Adam: Rebecca! Don't talk about what's wrong with it!!

Jon, to Kris/Jon's cabbie: Can we hurry? We're in a race!
Jonathan at the ticket agent: We have to be very fast right now!!
Agent: Computer is down right now.
Bolo: We need to get to Addis Abia, Ethiopia (lol)
Agent: 6:15 pm.
Other teams can't seem to find anything for today.
Bolo has an Air France opening for this evening.
Agent: Arrive tomorrow. Leaves 6:05 tonight.
Agent to Freddy: All tickets to Addis are now booked.
Kendra: They (Lori/Bolo) totally butted in front of me in line. (Liar, liar, pants on fire!!)
Bolo: As far as we can see, we're the only ones on this flight!!
Freddy: There's a flight through Cairo ...
Hayden: We're gonna spend the night in Nice. (Lufthansa to Zurich/Cairo/Addis)
Kris/Jon get SwissAir tix on a different flight.
Phil: First to depart, Lori/Bolo have a layover in Rome.
Lori/Bolo hunker down in Rome during their long layover.
Adam arises early and tries to secure earlier tix. He suceeds!
They might actually meet up with Lori/Bolo in Rome!!
Kris/Jon get on the Alitalia with Adam/Rebecca.
Rebecca shared the info with Kris.
Adam is mad at Rebecca for sharing info.
Adam: I'm gonna have to break my neck again. We might not make the first charter in Ethiopia!
Rebecca: I hate being with you. You make me so miserable all the time!!
Adam: Move over!
(Sits on the same seat as her)
Rebecca: You're so abusive! I wasted 2 years on you !! I'm not gonna waste another minute!!
Adam: Stop crying. It's gonna be okay. Sorry, Rebecca. I love you. I'm sorry.
Reb conf: It is so frustrating when we have a blowup like this, it takes us out of the race.
Lufthansa thru Cairo: Hayden/Aaron, Freddy/Kendra.
Alitalia thru Rome: Jonathan/Victoria, Adam/Rebecca, Kris/Jon.
The Rome teams hook up with Lori/Bolo on the same flight to Ethiopia.
The first charter leaves at 8 am. The second, 30 minutes later.
The footrace is ON to sign up for the charter.
Rebecca finds the counter first.
Jonathan finds it second.
Lori/Bolo get the 3rd spot.
Kris/Jon first on the later flight.
The last two teams arrive in Addis, 3 a.m., and teams get on their charter flights. The later arrivals head for the 2nd charter flight leaving at 8:30.
Lori/Bolo, Jonathan/Victoria, Adam/Rebecca in the lead. Jonathan stops to ask a local directions and offer money for tour guiding. The second airplane is now arriving in Laribella with the last 3 teams and Victoria has a cow.
Kendra: These people choose to be this way! It's refreshing! The animals aren't even as skinny!
Victoria is pissed that Jonathan has brought the tourguide on the ride.
Lori/Bolo and Adam/Rebecca first to the overlook.
Bolo takes a big tumble running down the hill ...
DETOUR, Adam.
Raise the roof? Or Mud the Hut?
Manual labor.
Join a group of locals and carry a thatched roof 2/3 of a mile to put a roof on a house. Physically demanding, but quicker. Or, cover a wall with traditional mud and plaster. It could take a long time.
Jonathan: Victoria, you need to get your head in the game here!!
J/Vic choose to do the mud wall of the hut.
Last 3 teams choose their DETOUR.
Hayden/Aaron, roof.
Freddy/Kendra, mudding.
Kris/Jon, roof.
Freddy: I cut my finger! Bad!!
Kendra: Omigod!! Honey! You are bleeding! You need first aid!!
Freddy: Wait (UGH!!) till we're done!! Aargh!!
Adam puts the top on the roof.
CLUE, Rebecca: Deliver two mules three miles to St. George's Church, below ground level.
Bolo finishes the mud.
Kendra: You're cut and you're sticking your hands in crap??!?!?
Rebecca: Is there instructions on donkey handling?
Teams doing the roof finish.
Hayden/Aaron 2nd.
Kris/Jon 3rd.
Rebecca seeks help with her mules ... they won't go anywhere.
Shades of "Colin: My ass is broken!"
Adam walks the donkey like a dog.
Scooping mud, Victoria shrieks: Ieeeee!!! Omigod!
Jonathan: What's wrong with her!?!?
Victoria, shrieking, takes her hand over to workmen, who pour water on it.
Kendra: Jonathan! Help her!!
Victoria: Omigod! Omigod!!
Kendra: you okay sweetie?
Victoria: I don't want to get eliminated because my fingers hurt!
Jonathan: Mind over matter.
Kris: I get it. Stubborn as a mule.
Jonathan finishes mudding, gets CLUE: Deliver 2 donkeys ...
Victoria: Where's the donkeys? Help me out here! Come on!!
Kendra: Oh there's a YIELD ahead. We don't want to be the last team.
Victoria, walking now: Come on, Jonathan!
Kendra is running.
Victoria: Gimme my shoes! My feet are chewed up!
Jonathan: Donkeys are over there!
Kendra: Come on, donkeys, go!
(Looks like a race to see which team gets to yield whom?)
Victoria: Freddy and Kendra beat us!!
I don't want to lose because of yoU!!
Hayden/Aaron, CLUE: YIELD.
Phil: A team can force another team to yield.
Aaron: We choose not to yield anyone.
ROADBLOCK: Who has an eye for detail?
Phil: One team member makes their way in to this deep, subterranean church. Find a specific pendant which is waiting with the priest; match it to one on a worshipper inside the church (and there are about 100 worshippers) for the next clue.
Hayden goes inside.
H conf: The energy inside the church is like nothing I've ever experienced.
Kris/Jon and Lori/Bolo wrestle donkeys.
Suddenly ...
Kendra: I can't breathe!
Freddy: It's hyperventilation! Control your breathing!
Kendra: It's asthma! This hasn't happened to me in 15 years!
Kendra conf, after recovering slightly: The kids were wonderful. They held my backpack and everything. I want to take them home!!
Victoria: SHut up!
Jonathan: Have some self respect!
Hayden, to child: My name is Hayden.
Boy: My name is (Goliah?)
Hayden conf: One of my most moving experiences.
Hayden, CLUE: Make your way to pitstop, Lalibela lookout.
Phil: The last team to arrive may be eliminated.
Lori does the ROADBLOCK.
Kris does the ROADBLOCK.
Neither of them YIELDS anyone.
Kendra can't get the donkeys through a religious ceremony ...
Neither can Jonathan/Victoria.
Finally Jonathan/Victoria read their CLUE again ... they only have ONE donkey and they must EACH have ONE, or a total of TWO ...
Victoria: We're done.
Jonathan: We were in such a hurry.
Meanwhile ...
Lori has trouble finding a matching pendant.
Lori: This is stupid!
Kris finds the pendant, 2nd to get the pitstop clue.
Kris/Jon get directions from a child.
Lori finally finds the correct pendant, gets clue in 3rd.
Adam and Freddy seem to have a disagreement over which is which donkey ...
Adam/Rebecca YIELD Freddy/Kendra!

Jonathan's tour guide takes them back for the other donkey.
Kendra: If we're not out of it, we know who NOT to help next.
Man: Welcome to Ethiopia:
Phil: Hayden/Aaron, you're team #1. You've won a vacation to Mexico.
Hayden: We needed a little kick in the pants to get going.
Phil: Lori/Bolo, you're team #2. You don't smell so good right now!
Phil: Kris/Jon, you're team #3.
Jon: Still in it!!
Adam, frustrated: Please let's go back!!
Kendra, CLUE: Who has an eye for detail? You do, Freddy!
Jonathan, looking tired, walking slowly with donkeys.
Kendra, pointedly to Rebecca: Why did you guys YIELD us?
Rebecca, defiantly: Too many questions.
Freddy finds the pendant wearer almost immediately and kisses the man on his sleeve.
Adam, to man: Can I see?
Man shakes head, NO.
Adam has to leave, again, to Rebecca's frustration.
Finally Adam finds it on his next pass.
Adam gets clue in 5th, furious.
Rebecca: We're not in last! It's okay!!
