BourkieBoy:
Episode 6 Thoughts

This was another good leg! I really enjoyed both sides of the Detour - unlike music tasks, I don't mind dance tasks and the High Kick Zulu Warrior Dance looked awesome! (I would have torn my hamstrings and calves if I had done this task!  :funny:) and the Paint Slick side of the Detour looked awesome (the finished drinking pot looked amazing!) I quite liked the safari task, but I think the Carnivores got the better experience then the Herbivores (as the Carnivores got right up and close with the animals)

I was a little surprised that Peter & Bridget needed to do a Speed Bump, as the previous leg was a KOR. I found the task to be quite boring and pointless in all honesty (didn't really add to the episode too much). I found the Roadblock task... a little disgusting? I think I get quite uncomfortable with anything to do with teeth (maybe because of hygiene reasons), but the task was entertaining. What is the obsession with teeth in this episode??? Even the Pit Stop took place at a park dedicated to teeth!  :funny:

Show contentI'm going to miss Havana & Steph. They were a good team and quite competitive and strong at the same time!
Overall, the South African legs were very entertaining and fun. I enjoyed two out of the three and I'm very much looking to the Namibian episodes starting tonight!

Xoruz:
That was a packed day in Namibia.

They did a KOR again but didn't have a mid-leg rest point unlike South Africa. These two legs were slightly strange. The first one was longer and had more task but didn't feel like much happened. Whereas it was the opposite for the second leg. The eating tasks returned, and it amazes me that most of the teams essentially decided to do the Meatblock. Also, it was nice to focus on multiple ethnic groups rather than just the San people as TAR tends to do. They saved that for next week.

Show contentChloe & Emily were the most shocking boot yet due to such a simple mistake of losing their bag as well as the second half of the leg not really allowing them to catch up.

Xoruz:
We got the obligatory San people leg while in Namibia.

They really didn't visit many locations this leg with much of it focused on the nature sanctuary. That did mean that all of the teams could see each until they drove to Spitzkoppe. So that increased the tension after the return of the penalty.

Show contentI'm curious as to how Thorpie & Christian fall so far behind. Did they get that lost?

Commendable for Thorpie to race as long he did, though apparently he was seriously injured.

Maanca:
Yeah, that news article was a dead giveaway that they wouldn't win the race. It was just a matter of how far they went.

Episode 7 Thoughts

This was another awesome leg in my opinion! I found both Detour options to be extremely physically demanding - the hike required in Two By Two would of been torturous, but that sandboard ride would be awesome! Four By Four I think was the quicker option, but heaven forbid you get bogged in that sand and you have to dig yourselves out! In terms of the Active Route Marker Task at Pelican Point, I thought this was quite unique (where most teams memorized all the usual information about seals, but forget to memorize what was actually written on the outside of the buoys  :funny:)

Thought the Roadblock task was easily the worst task of the leg (I found it a little boring?), but I actually liked seeing the teams mix up the animal fat and ochre before covering themselves with it (and some of the team's reactions when they were applying the paste to themselves  :funny:) The shopping task was quite unique - that Damara Nama language is so difficult to pronounce! Thought the Pit Stop location was quite unique as well

Show contentCan't believe Chloe & Emily got eliminated due to them leaving their fanny pack behind at Pelican Point. They were such a strong team and I really thought they could go all the way and win the thing! Devastated that they've been eliminated :(
