The Amazing Race > Amazing Race 35
TAR 35 (formerly 36) Timeline & Spoiler Summary
ianthebalance:
Having 6 pit stop rest times being longer than the former 36 hour extended pit stop times annoys me so much. And only 2-3 pit stops in under 24 hours. Way too much rest for the racers. Needs to be a harder race imo

“We need to make these racers feel worse because past races made people feel worse.” Lol
Zack.:
Has any racer or production confirmed if they're still doing COVID testing between legs? If so it would explain the extra day between legs to quarantine anyone and make ad hoc changes if needed.

I unironically feel this way because it makes for more interesting television for me (though I know it is just an opinion). Plus continually spending so long in a confined hotel space doesn't sound like fun to me from a racer's perspective. Though if it is due to COVID testing like someone suggested then I understand.
Neobie:
I agree that teams should be challenged a little harder!
It might be a little harder for logistics, though. Production has three options:
- Continue the current system, where teams get a lot of time to rest and recover between legs;
- Revert to the old days, where teams get released at shorter Pit Stop intervals (i.e., at inconvenient times of the day) and get bunched up; or
- Cut the Pit Stops shorter by a full 24h (i.e., legs take place on back-to-back days), which gives Phil very little time to set up in between legs.
I don't see an elegant catch-all solution - maybe a mix of all three within a season would be nice?
