The one country that stands out is Australia, with multiple nonstop flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Melbourne and Sydney (to say nothing of that as a connection to somewhere else in Australia) and an easy path to continue westward to South Africa or any of the Persian Gulf countries.

I really doubt they go on north aka Tokyo/HK for the LEG4
It makes sense if they actually connect thru Qatar,Singapore or Bangkok to other countries

Routes the past seldom back-track in the Asian portions. The only time happened was TAR3 when they travelled Switzerland-Malaysia-Singapore-Vietnam, TAR 4’s Malaysia-South Korea-Australia and TAR9 when they travelled Oman-Australia-Thailand Otherwise, it is always generally moving Eastward / Westward.
I think logistically it is more possible to assume them going to Central Asia / Middle East via Qatar.

A similar form of backtracking was originally supposed to take place for TAR 24 with China-Philippines-Australia-Sri Lanka(?) so I wouldn’t say it’s completely off the table. Plus we do know there were intentions to go directly from South Africa to Australia during a charter season.

But it’s a bit odd for them going to Japan/SK/China?
Cuz they could have done it in Leg 1
Just a spec
If they do re-create the S33 route
It may make sense for them having the flight from
Can Thao - HCMC - Bangkok - Kathmandu

I don’t think anyone’s denying that East Asia is out of the picture, I think it’s more so saying that both backtracking to Oceania and going westward towards Central Asia and the Middle East are both viable options at this point in time.
