Backtracking into Oceania from Asia on a westward course would necessitate a higher budget than currently available.
Definitely

Most Pacific islands
Let’s say Palau/Fiji
They go either Tokyo/Hong Kong as a connection

For them doing Bangkok first, I suspect the Malaysia/Singapore or even Brunei for the next few legs

Perth could be doable if they absolutely wanted to backtrack to Oceania. I’m just hoping we get more than 3 continents.
I think Africa is good tbh
Morocco/Algeria/Egypt/South Africa are doable

Is it possible for them to backtrack and go to Indonesia? They recently hosted two international events (the G20 and ASEAN summit) so i think its pretty safe to go there, or its more likely for them to go to Malaysia/Singapore or even Brunei? But tbh i prefer if them do max 2 legs in SEA, then go to other region in Asia, especially Central Asia. I truly hope they skip Europe or at least visit new countries there.

Safest bet i think it is Singapore

Singapore has become a fast-growing metropolis even in COVID
During COVID Pandemic, Singapore is the first Asian country to reopen
The disease control has been always stable
Thus, teams can drive on their own  (see TAR3)

In terms of cost-reduction, Singapore is also a SEA flight hubs
A lot of flights make their layovers
Like Central Asia/Africa/Middle East

Yeah i also think Singapore is the safest bet for them if they want to visit another country in SEA, probably one or two legs in Thailand (Bangkok and then go to rural thailand) and then go to metropolis like Singapore before leaving SEA.

I used that same website where you tracked the first flight from Taipei to Bangkok and found a second flight en route from Taipei to Bangkok that gets in at 11:15AM Bangkok time (approximately 90 minutes behind Flight #1 which arrives in Bangkok at 9:45). Do we think if there is a second flight that this is the one?  https://flightaware.com/live/flight/EVA75/history/20230615/0030Z/RCTP/VTBS

Love that we have names for all the 36 teams before we do 35!

Off topic, but does anyone else think that we're WAY overdo for another All-Stars season?! So many A+ teams from 25 to now that just need to be on our screens again...and who knows how many stars 35 and 36 will hold with 26 brand new teams! Really hoping 37 is an All-Stars season.
Love, an unapologetic Lisa & Michelle stan

Wow! What an amazing day this has been! Thank you so much for all of our TAR Detectives for bringing us so much behind the scenes action! I'm truly amazed at what we have, no words can describe how incredible it is!  :conf: :cheer:

I'm so glad that we are back to "normal" TAR! So glad we are back to commercial flights and we have left the charter behind! The cast sounds like ordinary people doing extraordinary things! Welcome back Asia! Oh how I've missed your craziness these past three seasons! Bangkok is a superb city, in my opinion, the best city in Thailand to have hosted TAR legs!

In summary, I don't think that words can describe my excitement for the rest of this season! Bring it on!  :2hearts:

A Switchback to the Theravada prayers from Season 26: Blind Date Edition would be neat.

So happy that they are back to regular flight.  :woohoo:
Not to much for another LA start. And I had hoped, for a night leg in Bangkok.
Love The Amazing Race, The Apprentice and Survivor.

Weird note but I like the new fanny pack's they're using this season, wasn't a fan of the old ones without the classic TAR stripe

S.40 would be great for a " winners at war" 37 is such an odd number..but I would name it " Winning Again " or "I was a winner" ..we are just 3 seasons from 40

Great to see TAR back to using commercial flight  :woohoo:
With the 90-minute episodes, hopefully legs are longer with more complex leg design (more route markers are fine, not every location has to hold a task)

Wow at Bangkok being the premier leg. It seems to a perfect timing for Nepal to happen this time  :cheer:

If one positive can be said about the charter, it was fun for the RFF detectives to have all the guesswork taken out of where they went.

Wow, I'm really surprised they went to Thailand first.  Agreed that Singapore makes the most sense as the next destination. Didn't expect Oceania this go around since it's very late fall there.

I feel like TAR is one of the best shows at learning from their mistakes and adjusting for future seasons. Hearing that the first leg was already WAYY longer than the 34-35 legs (weren't a few of them only about AN HOUR?) makes me very optimistic for this season

What? The guesswork is the fun. Being told by a flight radar where they were going made it boring to spoil.

Completely random, extremely useless and utterly stupid fun fact:

This season is the first season of The Amazing Race US that every single team has at least one member on it with an E in their first name.

I’m seeing speculation that this season will air this fall instead of 36. Is that true?!

If it does, it’s going to MASSIVELY confuse viewers to have a non-charter season followed by a charter season again. If they are worried about not having enough content for 90 minute episodes, I don’t see why they can’t group up 2 legs into 1 episodes? I also don’t think it will be as terrible of a season as some of y’all think it will be. I enjoyed 33 and 34 FAR more than 31 and 32, and those weren’t charter seasons.

Excited about the krabi-krabong task: not since TARCAN5's puppet theatre challenge has there been something so culturally relevant/specific!

100% agree with the first part. It would make no sense to air a 'normal' season before the last 'COVID style' season. It would make views pissed in my opinion. I thought 33 and 34 were fine, they were just average, mediocre seasons to me.

If they air 36 this fall, they would have to seriously consider dumping 35 on Paramount at some point in the future (summer 2024?) I just don't see how they could go backwards in format after returning to pre-covid norms this season. Definitely more excited for 36 personally.
