I think part of my issue here is that the BMS thread is somewhat essential reading at the same time as some items of note are posted here before they're posted in other sections of the forum.  Adversely, some of BMS spills into other threads (Spec being one).

But you're absolutely right, it's on me to ignore sections of the site that don't appeal to me at that cost.  If I can't handle the heat, etc. etc.  It's just a shame to have to remove myself from it.

A couple weeks ago, when similar issues came up, I was told (kindly) that there's a place for all points of view at RFF and that despite all of this, I had valuable feedback and contribution regarding the show and the activities involved.  At the time I was prepared to just abstain from doing anything here-- it really doesn't feel right to come in and expect anyone to change out of that type of negativity.  Like I said, it seems to happen on other boards as well, regardless.  I'm not expecting anyone to listen to my complaints and snap into some sort of understanding.  At the time there was discussion about creating a space for positive feedback about respective seasons, but apparently that might have been on me to organize and run?  I'm not completely sure that's something I have the time to manage.  Simply put, I'm kind of surprised that I'd need to to make it exist.  Apparently the board comes pre-set with BMS, but not the alternative, and that's the norm.

But coming back to my earlier point-- this came up before.  I don't think that there's a world in which I have the restraint to look into the forum and dodge the landmines.  Clearly, I've hit them again.  As nice and easy as that seems, it's the same type of nice and easy that I see behind 'simply not focusing on the negative every time' or 'running with the hypothetical that a season won't be bad for reasons x, y, or z' or 'referring to certain countries as infuriating because we've seen them a couple times'.  In other words, I know myself better than that.  lol

I appreciate the suggestions and the willingness to have a conversation about it, by all means.  But I think this time I'm out; that seems fair.  It's easier to remove myself so that everyone else can enjoy it.

Enjoy the show, guys.  Hope it turns out in the end.  :)

Yeah, you’d need to make the thread in TAR Discussion. It’s pretty straight forward to do.

And as for things being posted here before anywhere else, I cannot agree with that. This is a place for opinions only. Not sightings or destinations which are always updated as we see them in their respective threads. If you mean the potential eliminations via social media, that could perhaps be better posted in speculation, and usually is. Here, it’s usually inadvertently posted by someone saddened to see who the latest likely elimination is.

All the best, feel free to post that new 35-36 positives thread elsewhere. It is probably quite a good idea to break the two up in future given what has been said of late. There is no question you will have valuable contributions to the forum, it’s merely the moderating other people’s opinions that isn’t as helpful. The biggest fans of a program have the right to be critical from time to time. Or say they’re saddened to see a boot order, or a route with multiple double legs back to back. They can say this, just as much as they can say they love the cast, and the new cities visited, and the likely harder tasks and longer legs etc.

It’s important to recognise all sides. Everyone here loves the show. Long live TAR.

OMGitsGARRET:
I think ultimately we're all here because we are big fans of The Amazing Race. Let's be real, a casual viewer who catches a season here and there isn't gonna be on this website. We're dedicated viewers who love the show and spend hours every week on this Forum. And with such a love for something, we're going to all have various opinions, some of which might be polarizing. But all they are is opinions and it's totally okay for someone else to have a different opinion than another person.

Because we all love the show so much we just want to see it succeed. Sure, the complaining and bitching might be annoying, but it's not that we hate the show or just love to complain, we just are expressing our opinion and letting our thoughts out on one of the only places on the internet where we can do so. Same goes with the being happy and squealing, this is one of the only places to talk about a currently filming season.

I think we can easily see both sides to this thread throughout this filming cycle

The cast has very good age diversity. We have two 40+ year old F/F teams for the first time in a long while. We have some fun looking blood related and especially Parent/Child teams. We're getting legs in Asia in some very fun locations. We're getting a new country in Slovenia. We're getting 90-minute episodes which will be fun for everyone in the cast to be showcased more. Allegedly longer legs, more tasks, and harder tasks are all fun too. I mean, we're finally back to a worldwide route without a charter for the first time since 2018, that's amazing!!

But at the same time, spending half the season in Asia with x2 country visits for the first 6 episodes is a little disappointing. TAR24 gets negative feedback because the same thing happened there, so it's understandable if that happens here. If they would have taken out just one of the x2 visits of one of Thailand/Vietnam/India and replaced it with a fourth Asian country I think there would have been a lot less complaining. And finally, the cast looks look and I'm sure we're all looking forward to it, but seeing how this boot order is going is not ideal at all. I think it's ok for people to complain and be sad about that. Four F/F teams and they're all out before final 5 is unfortunate.

Ultimately, we're here because we love the show. We don't want any problems with other users, we just all want to be freely able to express our opinions without other people being mad at us for that.
For as long as this show airs there will always be "bitching," "moaning"," and "squealing." But it genuinely does come out of a place of love.
So as Kiwi Jay said in another thread, long live TAR.

Maanca:
The first half of the route might be good. I did compare it to TAR24 the other day, but much of the front half of that season was substituted last-minute due to an active typhoon season in the Pacific. Substitutes tend to feature rushed and cheaper tasks since presumably much of their money was already spent on the originally planned legs. Don't think we'll have that worry this time.

(That's a concern of 35 as well, but I said my piece in that thread)

--- Quote ---A lot of what hurt TAR24 was less so the route but the lame and way too easy tasks. We haven't seen much of the tasks this season due to so little sightings, but if the tasks are truly going to be harder this season, then that could make up at least somewhat for the overabundance of double legs.
